Today we were Christmas shopping in the area. I was hungry so we went in the restaurant for lunch. It's like a Chipotle only with vegetables, fruits and different grains. I ordered a salad "My Way" that started at $11.99 for 4 toppings and then you could add more toppings or add some proteins. I ordered the regular size Piccolo (regular) and added Romaine & Iceberg lettuce, Bacon, Black Olives, Carrots, Egg (Hard-Boiled), Apple Cider Vinegar with No Croutons. I then added a scoop of tuna salad in the top for $2.99, and a bottle of water for $1.99. Add tax and tip and it is a $20 salad. Not complaining, just stating the cost. It was a pretty good salad. The lettuce was crisp and fresh, the egg was good and I enjoyed the tuna salad. Unfortunately the Apple cider vinaigrette was tasteless so it brought the salad down for me. I've been recommended to try Giardinos for a while now and finally had the chance to give them a try! Since I ordered online via UberEats, this review will focus solely on food quality and presentation. We ordered a "My Way" Wrap and a "My Way" Salad, plus chocolate chip cookies. All items came neatly packed in plastic Tupperwares -- save for the two cookies, which came together in a small plastic baggie. The "My Way" Wrap consisted of creamy tuna, jalapeños, shredded Parmesan cheese, honey mustard, and bacon wrapped up in a plain flour tortilla. The wrap itself was smaller than average and slightly flimsy. Though filled generously, the wrap became too moist from the fillings and fell apart little by little after each bite. My boyfriend claimed it was delicious and tasted good, though admitted it was smaller and messier than he'd expected. Perhaps toasting the wrap would've made the tortilla firmer and less prone to falling apart. I ordered the small "My Way" Salad. It consisted of spinach, beets, apples, mandarin oranges, carrots, turmeric cauliflower, and roasted chicken tossed in balsamic vinaigrette. Salads are generously filled with a good amount of toppings to keep one full and satisfied. What I liked about this salad was that, while the dressing was mixed inside the bowl, it was not overly poured into the salad as to make the ingredients mushy and unsatisfying. Everything in the bowl combined tasted fresh was enjoyable. The only item I did not care for was for the turmeric cauliflower. To me, it didn't really have much of a taste and was mushy. What a fantastic promotion Giardino's had to lure new customers, a free salad wrap or bowl! We all had salads. There are Hand Crafted Salads & Wraps or you can build your own. I went with the K & O Salad: Kale, romaine, sweet potato, garbanzos, pecans, quinoa, garbanzos, & goat cheese. I tried both the Ginger dressing it came with and some citrus cilantro dressing. I was very happy with both of the dressings and the salad. It had a lot going on but it worked. My husband and boys enjoyed their salads as well. 13 year old and I both tried the soups of the day. I ordered the Mushroom Soup and my son ordered the Cheddar Broccoli. Both were sinfully rich, creamy, but really delicious. What I loved about Giardino's was their customer friendly service. The servers at the counter were patient and friendly. If we were doubtful about an item, they were quick to offer a taste. Plus, they did not charge for extra salad dressing as another salad place in the area does. There were also samples of delicious lemon basil cookies at checkout. I really love this place. If you are feeling uninspired, they have a menu of salads that they've put together. If you are feeling creative, you can make your own. There is an abundance of toppings to choose from, that seem to feet every possible dietary restriction. Not sure what kind of dressing you want? No problem, they'll give you a sample. (Try the cilantro lime vinaigrette, it is wonderful). The diced chicken breast added a great oomph to the salad and paired well with the dressing. This place is bumping during lunch hour, but if you can find a way to get there at 11, when they open, you'll be in and out. Be aware, the salad sizes come in big and bigger. Very fast can openings do very well or plummet down the drain. In this case Giardinos sailed. First off this concept is genius. Usually I meal prep out my meals for the week but often I can't. If your in the fitness realm you know how important your meals are every two hours. Unfortunately many places can't hit the macros required in competitive diets. They're concept is similar to a Chipotle except instead of a burrito, bowl, or tacos; your choosing between a Piccolo, Basta, or wrap. All ingredients were super fresh and the whole staff was very sensitive to dietary restrictions. Than again how can you get plants wrong; right? You can be boring though. Not at Giardinos you can either choose from one of their pre made options or you can build you own salad. All salads are pre-tossed and ready for you to crunch into. I would recommend glancing at the menu since they're pre-made salads are craftily made and entirely different from one another. Soups and sandwiches are available but I just glanced at them because my body was craving green. A really valuable note for vegans is that they offer tofu. For vegans in fitness we need that added protein to gain mass. Unlike their counterparts in the area they are fast, inexpensive, and can cater to an omnivorous family's needs. Great staff, friendly, and helpful. However, I was highly disappointed in the lettuce quality in my salad. I didnt pay attention to the lettuce, I just let the guy do his thing. I ordered it to go so once complete he packaged it up and put it in a bag. I left and walked to my car (which was very far because parking is insane in this plaza). Once in the car, I opened up the salad to take a few bites. The lettuce was wilted, soft, and old. Some of the lettuce were turning yellow the stalks of the romaine were turning color and it was not fresh at all. For a new business that prides themselves on gourmet salads they should have better quality lettuce. Fresh, green, crunchy lettuce, that's how I like it. Unfortunately, I had to walk all the way back to the store and request a refund. The young lady was very pleasant and asked how she can fix the problem. She asked if she can make the salad over. I said sure go ahead but advised her not to use the romaine that was available. She made the second batch of salad with spinach and mixed greens and arugula. They also had it very clearly marked so that people were not standing too close to one another. Again, just giving them a big thumbs up for how they are handling things. In regards to the food, I thought they pretty much had everything you could possibly want to make a great salad. Everything was displayed, and all of the produce seemed very fresh. My coworkers and I went to Giardinos for lunch to support a student fundraiser happening there. Truthfully, I was a little apprehensive about how amazing a salad bar restaurant could really be. Thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised! The menu was surprisingly large with pre-created salads, soups, bowls, and wraps, plus there was the option to create your own salad. I ended up ordering the El Caribe bowl with jasmine rice. One of the biggest reasons I chose this dish was the promise of creamy avocado! Unfortunately, halfway through making my meal, they informed me that they were out of avocado and that I could choose something else to take its place. I wish they had told me up front because I would have chosen something different! Anyway, I substituted and got my meal quickly. Every worker present was smiling and helpful, so that was another plus! My final complaint was that I didn't have the option to just get a free glass of water- all their beverages have a cost associated with them. My meal was absolutely delicious! The citrus cilantro vinaigrette (which made me a little nervous) was ridiculously good and elevated the whole bowl! I did miss the avocado, but it was otherwise delicious. The plantain chips were surprisingly good on the side of the dish as well. Overall, I enjoyed my first visit to Giardinos. At about $13 for my salad and drink, I probably won't come running back, but I did enjoy the meal as a whole. One final note: one person in our party got the garden cookie (key lime and basil ). With 4 different types of lettuce to choose from. Plenty of dressings. The only thing I'd say is that they need more variety for low fat and fat free options for dressing. You also can add protein to your salad. I usually just do the chicken. It's delicious. And I'm very weird about chicken and how it's cooked. So me saying this says a lot. So far I've been to Giardino Gourmet Salads twice and I was happy with my selection both times. On my first visit I picked the Mama Mia Salad. The Mama Mia has sun-dried tomatoes, roasted red peppers, goat cheese, sliced almonds, italian chianti vinaigrette and garlic croutons. They were out of garlic croutons so I chose sweet bread instead. Everything in the salad was super fresh and tasty. They are very generous with the ingredients and will change out anything that you may not like. For my second visit I tried one of their grain bowls. I ordered the My Big Fat Greek Bowl which comes with quinoa, plum tomatoes, cucumber, black olives, feta cheese, hummus with olive vinaigrette and toasted pita. I also added avocado and creamy tuna salad on the side. I really liked my bowl. My server was amazing btw. He was super funny and made sure my bowl was perfect, asking me questions while he was putting it together like if I wanted more dressing or to add another ingredient. He definitely had great customer service skills. I think I liked the bowl more than the salad even though both were great. The bowl was super filling because of the quinoa and the hummus was really good. I'd probably get the tuna salad on top next time so I can mix it all together and get some of the yummy dressing on there. Next time I'll try a different deli salad like the tropical chicken or lemon dill seafood. My only complaint, and this isn't any fault of Giardinos, is the parking in Tower Shops is horrible. They are located in the northern corner by Burger 21 and AT&T and there are very few spots over there.
