I've been ordering from Giavano's for close to ten years, and for the most part the food has been decent. Unfortunately, tonight I had a different experience. The calzone I received was a mess (see photos). When I called about it, I told the boy who answered I was a little upset about my order and started to explain. He hung up on me. I called right back, and this time a different guy answered with a gruff, "Yeah." (Turns out he was the manager. Allegedly.) When I told him why I was calling, he had the nerve to tell me "the cheese, like the ricotta, is still settling." What? In a cold calzone that should have finished "settling" long before they sent it? I don't think so. I have NEVER seen such a disgraceful calzone before. What this *manager* should have said was, "I'm sorry about that! I don't know what happened. I'm going to give you a store credit, so the next time you order, you can try a calzone again, on us." Sadly ... he chose the hostile route instead. I'm finished with this location. I understand the location in Queensbury is owned by someone else--apparently someone who cares. read more

I ordered $100.00 food from Giavano's SGF for a gathering to be delivered at 6pm. At 6:45 I called to ask where my food was and found that it had been delivered to a house a few doors down. They said it wasn't there problem even though they delivered it to the wrong house. On top of it they were rude. I contacted the bank and the police and there's nothing that can be done unless I can take them to civil court. Obviously the customer is always right does apply for this business. If zero stars was possible thats what i would give them. read more

The pizza is nothing to write home about. The major issue with them is the overall operation. It is poorly run and completely FUBAR. It appears to be a place that the men running it can make jokes and do a below average job. I feel this place could be better ran with a small army of 3 legged dogs honestly. On 4 superset occasions I was asked what I was waiting on. As were the other customers. I would be amazed if this place can survive many more years with this current operational process. Also the lady with glasses while perhaps being the only relative competent person in the store has traits unbecoming of a business operator. (Giving dirty looks to a waiting pregnant lady) I truly hope they can turn this around and if not. Hopefully a better group of people who have characteristics of business operators can. read more

Ordered jalapeño poppers one day and received broccoli cheddar bites. Ordered broccoli cheddar bites another day and received half poppers and half cheddar bites. The pizza however was very good. I don't know about appetizers, it's a mystery what you may get. read more

Let me start by saying I have been going to Giavano's for years and this issue, I experienced last night, is an ongoing issue. This is not a new development because of COVID. Last night, I was at their mercy. I was unable to leave to pick up an order I planned to place so I thought I would take a chance and order delivery. I called at 5:25 with the hopes I would have it delivered by 6:30. I was told we would have it in 45 minutes to an hour. Perfect! I paid for the order over the phone (first mistake) Except it never happened. After over an hour had passed I called and asked if my order had left yet. I was told, "No. We're a bit backed up." I said, "Forget it. I will send someone to pick it up." No apology offered, just, "Sure. No problem." I asked, "Is the food even hot." His response was, "It should be." My fiance had to go to pick up the food. When it arrived (they made him wait to pick up the food as well) it was cold and soggy. $30.00 for cold and soggy food in wet containers. I get that it's Christmas time, COVID, etc., don't over promise. Even on a sunny day, in the middle of the week, in summer Giavano's has never been able to get the concept of delivery down. They are great at making pizza but customer service is the area that needs improvement. A warning to anyone who orders delivery from them; I'm pretty sure they throw out arbitrary time-frames. They have no real meaning because they don't stick to what they tell their customers. If I could have left the house I would have raced back out last night demanded a refund. read more

Never again. We've been patrons for over 15 years, but never again. Placed a phone order for delivery at 5:30 and was told to expect delivery in an hour. Called 90 minutes later to check in the status and was told "it just left the shop and should be there in 5-10 minutes". 20 minutes later we called and were told "We have no record of you placing an order". This is for the South Glens Falls location ONLY. Can't say enough about these guys. Great service, great food. I feel like Norm walking into Cheers. They really get to know their customers; likes, dislikes, etc. and they aim to please. If you can, avoid Hudson Falls like the plague and make the trip to SGF. BBQ chicken pizza is great but when you order BBQ chic pizza and say put all the chicken on one side and then get a half portion of chicken but is still charged for the whole ... My wife and I use to be huge Giavannos fans years ago. We moved back to the area a year ago and gave Giavannos a try again. It was horrible. With many other options in the area we have skipped Giavannos for over a year now. Recently some family visited and remembered Giavannos from years past and asked us to get pizza from there. We did and the quality was even worst than last time. It was almost embarrassing to serve our guests but they requested it. The pizza was extremely undercooked. The cheese was barely melted. The food is great... pizza has an authentic new york city taste to it. definitely homemade dough and the subs are huge and tasty. my only complaint is they are kind of pricy for the area. a 3 topping pizza and a calzone sets you back almost 30 dollars! add some wings and your at 40. other than cost the food is good read more
