When I knew we were going to Lake George for Oktoberfest I immediately thought of Capri Pizzeria. It's pretty much the same as when I used to visit here annually as a child. Their hand-tossed pizzas are delicious. I always remember watching the chef kneading and tossing fresh dough from the front window, visiting here always takes me back. After enjoying the day at Oktoberfest we wanted to grab a slice of pizza before heading home. We were able to grab a table right away as most customers were taking their orders to go. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is a bit dated but I do like that they left the old CD juke boxes at the tables, once again, reminiscing about the old days.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]One downside is the restaurant and restrooms are not very clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm sure there is a lot of people traffic here but they definitely need to improve in this area. We ordered the meat lovers ($27.43) with pepperoni only on one side. Our pie was out in about 20 minutes and was delicious. The large gets you 8 slices, we had four so it worked out to 2 slices each. The pizza was loaded with ingredients and the crust had just the right crispiness and chew. This was a surprise stand out on our vacation. We needed some late night noms on a Monday and they were open and doing some intense business. The ordering area is pretty tight, and I had to wait, but the staff cashed me out so I would be ready to go when the pizza came out. We got the Bianco, and it was really memorable. Perfect garlic/cheese ratio and the crust really complemented it. I was vacationing in lake George this week & ate here twice! The meatball & pepperoni slice was delicious! I also dined in and had a chicken parm hero which was pretty good. Capri Pizzeria is incredibly nostalgic for me! I have been going here since I was a little girl. Review from a great experience August 25, 2024- Capri Pizzeria & Restaurant in Lake George is absolutely fantastic. The owner is a warm and kind human being; his staff echoes with his love and care. The menu is extensive and the food is simply stellar. The portions are BIIIIIIG! The prices are really good. They are open late on Friday and Saturday nights. This is our "go to" whenever we are in Lake George. Their pizza is absolutely delicious! My husband and I always dine in for a 8 cut pizza and salad. We always receive excellent service provided by the waitstaff. Today we had an 8 cut thin crust with sausage: generous amounts of sweet sausage with the perfect amount of sauce and mozzarella. Rating this place 0 Don't recommend unless you like going to a restaurant and getting attitude given by the employees. Lady slammed our card on the counter. I wasn't the only costumer who was givin attitude to. There is also a woman who was cleaning tables who was very rude to my 8 year old. On their menu online they don't have personal pizzas listed. So I called and asked if they could do a personal pizza. The guy who answered said they could. So I placed the order for that. I got there and the first thing the dude at the counter said was, "Small veg pizza?" I said, "Yea." He then proceeded to hand me the box and said 20$ and whatever the change was. I thought wow, that's an awful lot for a personal pizza. Well, it turns out, that's the same price of the regular pizza on the website. Maybe in his mind that's a personal pizza. Perhaps I should've clarified how many inches the pizza was before I placed the order. As far as quality and flavor, it was nothing special. I guess that's the typical New York style; there was very little red sauce on the pizza. Not much cheese either. Three stars only because they were the only restaurant open other than Taco Bell, Wendy's, and McDonald's. If you're an out of towner, the best pizza in the Glens Falls/Queensbury area is Harvest Restaurant hands down. The quality and consistency is the best around. read more

Small NYC style pizza joint in Lake George Village. One of the guys behind the counter was wearing a Yankees cap, so that was good. They have booths in the back to sit and enjoy your pizza, but the ones I saw really could have used a little cleaning. I had 2 slices. The positive is they're large and thick, the way I like them. The negative is that there was something in the sauce I couldn't identify but it gave the pizza a different taste than I'm used to in NYC and Long Island. It wasn't bad, but different enough to be noticeable. Additionally, they have NYC pricing, at $3.75 for a slice. After a day of ice fishing on Lake George, Pots & Pans and I decided to stop in at our favorite pizzeria in the LG area. Capri has been around since 1972, and we've patronized it for at least 20 years. And Pots and his family make it almost a daily pilgrimage when they vacation here in the summer. the pizza here is the best i had the entire week i stayed in lake george. the margarita pizza was super fresh and the slices are generous and filling for the price. the fountain soda is the way to go as it's cheaper than the same soda in the coolers in the bottles. the only downside was the girl who took our order, who was rude right off the bat rushing us to pick what we wanted as soon as we walked in even though there wasn't anyone else waiting on being served. We were in Lake George for the Lake George DJ Festival a few weeks ago and because it was technically before things opened for the season, a lot of restaurants closed early and being that we did not leave the festival until after 9, a lot of places were either already closed, or closing soon so not enough time to sit back and have a relaxing meal. The fact that we were also tired after a long day, we just wanted to get back to our hotel, but still quite hungry. Cue in Capri Pizza. They are open late enough - and also deliver to your hotel door. Is it the most amazing pizza I've ever had? No. But I also live downstate where pizza is life - and pizza is aplenty here. Was it still acceptable to eat? Absolutely. I would definitely eat from here again.
