Just finished a very yummy breakfast here! We were seated immediately and food came out fast and fresh. The menu had a lot of variety including gluten free bread and there was an extensive specials menu as well. we had a "make your own omelette", a meat lovers omelette, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, fresh fruit cup (with fresh strawberries, blueberries, giant blackberries, pineapple and melon), bacon, eggs Benedict and a huge , single chocolate chip pancake. I got a omelette special called the Vermont Omelette with apples, bacon, red onions and cheddar. The Home fries were seasoned with pepper and very tasty. Portions were perfect with most plates completely empty at the end and happy tummies. The owner and waitres were attentive. The owner noticed my daughter liked the doilies from under the fruit cups and gave her more to do art projects with at home. This place is perfect. It's on the smaller side with about 6+ booths or so, a few more tables & a counter with stools. The interior is adorable & definitely gives traditional diner vibes. We were greeted & seated immediately. There are plenty of breakfast options & a specials menu. Probably the best corned beef hash I've ever had, it was that good. Placed another order as soon as we tasted it - amazing texture and taste. Everything else was pretty good - tried a breakfast platter, biscuits and gravy, hash browns (which unfortunately did not have great texture like the hash did - needed to be fried harder). This was the absolute worst breakfast experience I have ever had. The service was horrible! We waited to be seated for what seemed like at least 20 minutes. We waited another 15 minutes for a coffee and menus while at our table. And then a half hour later we had to flag someone down to take our order. When we did receive our order 45 minutes later, it was nothing to brag about. I ordered a broccoli cheddar omelette, and it looked like someone hacked off a slab of cheddar cheese and threw it in the middle of the eggs and tossed some broccoli on top .There were no spoons to stir our coffee and nobody offered water . Nobody coming around every so often to top off the coffee; just terrible experience all the way around . We go out to breakfast every Sunday, try to stay local and enjoy local business but this one will definitely be crossed off our list forever. read more

I really hate it when people make me feel uncomfortable when I'm inquiring about gluten free options. One of my dining companions wanted a breakfast sandwich as well as a side of toast and she acted like that was a ridiculous thing to request. Why is she shaming the customers? I got an item off the special menu: poached eggs over fresh mozzarella with a slice of tomato and a drizzle of balsamic plus fresh basil. It was delicious! My daughter also got something off the special menu: grilled blueberry bread. She said it was great. The bacon was crispy, which is the way I like it but not the way she likes it... The "cook" needs to be fired. I have been a vegetarian for 20 years and am a local in the area. I came in and ordered a menu item, requesting no meat. The waitress assured me that would be fine. There were only a few other people in the diner at the time, so it was very easy to hear the "cook" throw a tantrum at having to leave off the meat from an easy breakfast sandwich. (Mind you, I was still paying full price and the only change was leaving off the meat.) He was yelling and huffing and eventually declared he would do it, but when the food arrived, there was meat on it. Something I did not notice until half of the sandwich had been eaten. He spitefully added it in KNOWING I WAS A VEGETARIAN. This is absolutely unacceptable and frankly dangerous. People with food allergies, people who are vegetarian for religious or health reasons, and those who have dietary needs have to be able to trust restaurants. And this place is untrustworthy. My body is not used to meat and this had physical consequences. This was not an isolated incident; reviews on Yelp and Google make it clear that this "cook" has done things like this before, and I do not recommend this establishment until he is removed. The owner should be aware that they are opening themselves up to liability and potentially being sued in the future if this vindictive, careless person is allowed to remain in their kitchen. read more

Went here two days in a row. First day, I ordered a new special off the menu and the waitress said, "oh, that's a new thing on the menu" as if I wasn't supposed to order it. They made it a little wrong, but it was fine. But this morning -- 2 of the women in our party ordered egg sandwiches with the eggs over hard. One came out completely runny, so we sent it back and as we did, I saw the cook scowling at us because we didn't like his light hand (the pancakes were also runny). He then proceeded to send out another over easy egg and when we pointed it out, the waitress said "are you sure that's not butter?" We know the difference between butter and egg yolk. This was not a matter of personal preference; this was a health issue for someone who cannot eat runny eggs or will get very ill. But the cook's pride or disdain for out-of-towners had to take precedence apparently. Two stars because the food that was done correctly was very good. But beware if you're an out-of-towner, they may perceive they don't like something about you and not care about your requests. read more

What a disappointment. It's been nearly a week and since I'm still thinking about my experience here so I'm leaving a review. I was visiting for my niece's birthday and wanted a place we could sit outside for breakfast. I want to preface this by saying that I work in hospitality, from catering to Fortune 500 companies to private family gatherings, managing and coordinating big events. I know what it's like to be understaffed and overwhelmed and I would never imagine talking to a client or customer in the way we were. The place was packed indoors but as a party of three coming with a small dog, we needed to sit outside. There were four available tables and we pulled a chair over to a circular table when we couldn't find a hostess to wait. We were scolded, told it wasn't set up for seating yet and the woman in charge dragged another table and chair out telling us to stand there and wait. Her tone was like that of a teacher admonishing a classroom-- with three different orders about what we were doing wrong. I wanted to leave, but seeing how she went to the efforts we stayed. The waitress arrived soon after and was an absolutely wonderful person to engage with-- helping as much as she could. We were only given two sets of silverware when we needed three, the food came out in a decent amount of time considering how busy it was inside. The pancakes were not fully cooked (think pockets of batter in the middle) and it was so hard to get the attention of anyone. What's more is when we got the bill we were charged for two cups of coffee (when only one was ordered and the waitress came out and merely gave a splash of fresh coffee to any already half-full cup). For an order of two pancakes, one coffee, and french toast the bill came to $32 with tip. In terms of sitting outdoors, I'd not recommend it as it's pretty loud from traffic and pedestrians warned to watch out for the bikes (?!). I won't ever be going back and it would have been worth it to go to the Queensbury Hotel or someplace downtown where it's quieter and costs just as much. read more

This is a gem just south of the heart of Glens Falls. The owner, Kathleen, is a spitfire keeping everyone happy and very well fed! Breakfast available during lunchtime, too. Great menu. Service was friendly and efficient; we sat towards the back of the restaurant where there are several generously sized booths that are reminiscent of old-time NYC diners. The counter seating was almost fully occupied but there were several tables still available. What I really like about this place is that the menu is actually pretty basic. They clearly stick to good, popular breakfast (and lunch) choices....and execute well. I had a simple cheese omelette; served with home fries and toast. Wheat toast was perfectly buttered, omelette was huge and not greasy at all; potatoes were delicious. My companion had ordered the steak and eggs but they didn't have any steak left....so the roast beef hash was requested instead...along with 2 sunny side up eggs and toast. Delicious. Even the coffee is good! I might wait to go back when the weather is cooler; my only issue was that it was VERY hot in there (but they did try to stay ahead of the heat with strategically placed fans around the restaurant). We frequent this place a lot. I read all the previous reviews and agree with all of them. This place does get very busy and food is good. Service ... coming from a waitress myself... is good considering how busy it can get at times. Yes a little talking to regulars does sometimes get annoying, but if your in a rush... tell your server ahead of time. Don't be shy to wave them down also. So many things are going around in their heads that sometimes something may be forgotten. Usually people go out to breakfast to sit, relax, converse and enjoy the meal. The cook and waitress had a full blown taste test and conversation about how bad the home fries were and how they were made the day prior. We were served those same home fries. Today was the first time I had been there in about 5 years. I ordered home fries no onions and 2 sausage patties. I noticed there were home fries already done on the grill and they looked like they had been there a while. While I was sitting there I seen a waiter come to the cook and ask him for a customers request. The cook shot the idea down saying he didn't have time for that today. I thought that was really rude of the cook. As I'm sitting there he keeps saying how he doesn't have time for that customers request. This cook seems like he can only do a couple orders at a time. I seen an order go out to a family that looked pretty good. The waitress came back that the cook shorted them an order of hash browns. The cook started mumbling and proceeded to put another order of hash browns on the grill. These were real hash browns not processed like McDonalds or Burger Kings. Just to remind you I only got home fries and 2 sausage patties and the home fries are already done when I walked in the place, Just waiting on 2 sausage patties to cook. Before I got my order the forgotten order of hash browns was sent out with very little browning to them. If I was that customer I would've sent them back to get cooked. I finally got my order and the home fries were the worst I had in a long time. They were so old they were very grainy. The sausage patties were good but one of them wasn't fully cooked so I left it on my plate and got up to pay. The bill for 1 order of home fries and 2 sausage patties and a glass of milk was $16.36. That is way to much for the bad food I got. I think if they got rid of the guy that is cooking and got someone that could do a better job it could be a good place to eat. If the owner is cooking and he thinks this is the way to run a restaurant the place won't last. I go to another restaurant during the week and I get twice the home fries and a single sausage patty for $6.00. I won't go back anytime soon. read more

Their home made hash is my hands down favorite. Perfectly proportioned mix of meat, potatoes and onions with some crunch on the outside and the soft stuff inside. Love their homemade breads. And don't order lunch before noon on a Sunday because they won't make it until after 12 even though the menu says 11:30am. One hour is just too long to wait in a small diner with a dozen tables.
