Pleasantly surprised by stumbling on the Harvest for lunch! Interestingly, it's been here for over 50 years, so they're clearly doing something right. We had a lovely server and good food. We shared buffalo wings that were served with extra blue cheese (as requested...just an extra buck). They were served hot (temperature) and not too spicy (she didn't ask how hot so it didn't matter..they were tasty). I had the cranberry walnut chicken salad which was excellent. The reuben and fries got a hearty thumbs up (and yes...I stole a few of those really good fries!). Will definitely be back. read more

Pretty disappointing experience. I found out that their fries are cooked in the same oil as the bacon, which was discovered by finding large chunks of bacon in our fries. That kind of cross contamination/presentation was pretty gross honestly.  On top of that, I used a discount card that clearly advertised a free appetizer, but after we ordered the flowering onion, we were told it didn't qualify. I really like the harvest restaurant on Bay Road in Queensbury, New York. Only improvement that I can suggest is that it would be nice if they actually offered reservations because when they are busy, the wait time could be nearly an hour, which is not acceptable but if you haven't made reservations someplace else, you're kind of stuck waiting. read more

Excellent Italian food with large servings. This is a busy restaurant but we didn't have to wait long. We were able to sit and visit with a friend and there was no feeling rushed to leave. This a large family dining center with a neat little side bar to serve delicious drinks. 6 of us at a large round table. Waitress came immediately and took orders for drinks. The menu book 10 pages. Pizza is a fan favourite with as many as 700 a night served or sent out the door. We had large salads. I had the Harvest salad which was huge and had multiple items included. Artichoke hearts, olives, peppers, salami, provolone, and Anchovies. All served with fresh crisp lettuce and tomatoes and homemade Parmesan and black pepper dressing. Wonderful and enough for 3 meals. Italian food is another house specialty. Excellent Lasagna, hot beef sandwich with mashed and brown gravy. Tons of thin sliced beef inside. Chopped Sirloin steak with mashed and rich brown mushroom gravy. Extra large loaded baked potato and large healthy turkey club. Everyone was too full to eat dessert but it was offered. Ordered the Chicken Marsala, which isn't a difficult or time consuming dish to prepare. Chicken was breaded and deep fried first! Then sauced over pasta. What? This is supposed to be a sautéed meal, prepared entirely in a pan with a light wine and butter sauce. Instead, it had a thick pasty sauce which barely tasted like marsala. Heard about the Harvest Restaurant from a friend that lives in Queensbury and I wasn't disappointed at all. The food tasted very good, service was excellent and the venue was very clean! I ordered the chicken parmigiana sandwich and my buddy ordered the meatball sub. He's extremely picky about meatballs, and he loved these. My chicken was also excellent! This was by far the worst dining experience I have had. The food took 2 hours to come and the pizza wasn't even fully cooked. I had gotten the clams and they weren't fully cleaned. I had sand stuck in my teeth after eating a couple bites. The pasta with my clams wasn't cooked fully and was cold with barely any sauce on it. The noodles tasted like nothing and the pizza tasted chewy with no flavor. The service was also very bad I had seen a waitress sitting next to another guest for 10 minutes instead of working and our waiter barely came to our table while we waited an outrageous amount of time. The most enjoyable thing about this place was my Pepsi . I could have gotten better pizza at the Stewart's across the street. read more

I have been eating here for all of my nearly 50 years and it's still the ONE place I have to go whenever I am back in the area after leaving 30 years ago. The house salad and pizza are our absolute go to family favorites. We don't even look at the menu! Service is always great with very experienced servers and bartenders. It took an hour for our food to arrive after we ordered. Unless you have all night with no plans don't bother eating here. The floor was also quite dirty so they either don't have a vacuum or just don't choose to use it. Unless you get pizza to go I cannot in good conscience recommend this establishment. read more

Pros: - Food was very good Cons: - Service 1. We were told about 30 minutes for seating, an hour for pizzas. We waited about 20 minutes to seat, cool. Got in, ordered drinks, apps, and checked out the menu. Ordered the pizzas. Waited 1-1/2 hours for the first pizza to come out, waitress noted that they needed a few minutes for the next one to "crisp". 10 minutes pass. Different waitress comes out and says it needs another 8 minutes. We started to chat at the table and overheard the waitresses complaining about us complaining. Pizza doesn't come out for another 10 minutes, so we ask them to box it since we've been there for 2 hours now. Another 5 minutes roll by and we finally get the pizza. 2. Tables were left dirty for way too long. We would watch the waitresses sit in the back on their phone while 3 out of 4 tables stayed dirty. Overall poor experience for our time visiting this area. read more

Food was great, service was excellent, Hostess has been there too long. Needs to understand the concept of consistency in dealing with customers. She made the mistake of singling out an adolescent and decided she could not walk though the pass through between the bathrooms and the main dining room, after multiple adults did the same. What a great place for dinner in Queensbury. Always drove past this place and finally decided to stop one night... and let's just say I've been back 2 more times already. The atmosphere is very welcoming and old style. On top of that, you can spend almost all your time trying to remember all the presidents on the placemats. This place gets very busy, very quickly and they don't take reservations so it's first come first serve. The food is spectacular...I have no complaints. The Harvest and I go way back--I'm so happy that nothing has changed. They are mostly known for their pizzas, but also offer a large variety of other food choices. There are a lot of Italian dishes. Their pizza has a unique crust which becomes addictive when married to their slightly sweet sauce. Is it a cornmeal crust?? IDK. The pies are dinner plate size and are cut into 8 slices. We opted for mushrooms, green peppers and then split the pie: half sausage and half pepperoni. Service was great. Prices are fair. There is a full bar--Johnny Walker Red/soda. read more

It's been almost a year since we were last at Harvest and I have no explanation why I didn't review it on that first visit even though I made an effort to post photos. Obviously, we were pleased enough with our first experience that we had thought it was a great idea to stop in as we were passing it again on Sunday. Conveniently, our arrival at 5:30 was still early enough to be seated immediately. Also conveniently, it turned out that our order was the same as last year, so I don't have to write a double review covering both visits. Photos, therefore, are similar. Almost immediately, we zeroed in on the Harvest Best Pizza ($16.95) with sausage, pepper, pepperoni, meatballs, red onion, and mushrooms. We specified fresh mushrooms just in case the default was canned mushrooms. But first we started with pints of Adirondack Bear Naked Ale ($5.25) and Common Roots IPA ($5.50), and a Tossed Green Salad ($5.95) and a Caesar Salad ($7.25). The salads are quite large and could possibly be shared. The Tossed Green is a basic iceberg lettuce with cucumber, onion, tomato and croutons. My wife added oil and vinegar. My Caesar was fresh and quite good also. The pizza crust is not made from your typical pizza dough. It almost has a buttery, slightly sweet, biscuit texture at the edge where it crisps against the edge of the pan it is cooked in. And it's not an overly large edge, so for those who never eat the ends of their slices because they are too bready or dry, you probably won't even realize that you just ate the whole slice! Overall, the Harvest Best combination of toppings is very tasty. But with six toppings they are not going to give you a truly balanced blend of their flavors. I thought the mushrooms were the dominant flavor, fortunately I liked that, and the sausage was the least dominant and least noticeable. I think on our next visit we should try a different and fewer combination of toppings. Maybe even do half of the 12 inch pizza with just cheese. Service is friendly and efficient. We did notice on both of our visits that pizza orders seemed to be slower than tables that order dinner entrees. Maybe the pizza was not fired until it was apparent that we were almost finished with those large salads. Or maybe the pizza ovens are simply not large enough to handle the demand. I went here on 7/14/24 and it was good, I got a Hawaiian pizza and my mom got another half with toppings, but my dad got a pizza with some toppings and it was wrong. This place is okay, not horrible but not amazing. They have good Italian food and very yummy soups!! read more

Immediately after ordering with the pleasant young waitress, a second woman came to give the disclaimer that we'd be waiting a good 30-minute minimum. Ummm, ok, but why suggest this in such a condescending tone ("we make it to order") I mean, we ordered pizza - I'd expect it's made to order ?? Trying to remain understanding - but upon sitting for 30 seconds, the defensive disclaimer was a bit off putting. the clock has started and I'm anxious to see how long we actually sit. Been coming since I was a teenager and the food and service are fantastic. Yes, all businesses have suffered from staffing issues and supply chain shortages through the pandemic but the bad reviews should be taken with a grain of salt. Waitress said right away pizzas are 30 min wait or 45 for everything else, which was nice to know up front but it was expected. We dined in at Harvest and had a terrible experience. We arrived at 4:00 because we had to leave at 5:30. There were only 2 other seated customers at that time. We ordered 1 app and 1 pizza. The app arrived promptly. We were looking forward to having a pizza fresh out of the oven, reason we dined in. 1 hour later, still no pizza. We had to follow up, twice. They said they put our pizza in a to-go box. They brought the pizza out luke warm at best, which turned cold within a minute! It was after 5:30, so had to gobble down 1 slice. We naturally thought they would apologize and give us a discount. They did not. After asking, they reluctantly, without apology, gave us 10% off our pizza only. Our entire dinner experience was ruined, and their customer service was a $1.50 discount! They claimed the owners were not present and therefore that's all the bartender would consider. I went up to the bartender and explained our situation, and she said she spoke to the owner and that's all they would do. I said I was told the owners weren't present and she quickly said she called them. This bartender had a full bar while handling all take-out orders, has worked there many years and believe is the manager, yet made a call out to the owners to discuss this blatant error on their end ...? She would not adjust her stance, with a fake smile on her face. We were astonished at the collective rudeness at Harvest. We will never go there again and instead will go to Queen of Hearts which has delicious, similar pizza, but with a caring staff that understands sincere customer service. read more

When we told our waitress we wanted our check and didn't want our food, she told us our food should be right out. A few minutes later she brought our food out & it was COLD!!!! When we told her it was cold, her suggestion was to heat it up, NO, it should have been brought out to us hot!!!! We then told her we didn't want our food & would just pay for our drinks. I am sure if Rachael Ray showed up......she wouldn't have to wait 2 hours. Anyways, food was very good. The only negative is that I ordered a chef salad, which was good, took the remaining home, and they didn't put the 2 cups of thousand island dressing that had tops on them in my take home.
