Bread and butter

Tuesday dinner and Service was great. Waiter and busboy were quick and friendly. More of a family restaurant than a steakhouse. They do have a full bar though. And the waiter let us know they have half price wine on Tuesdays. Had calamari for app which was good but make sure you ask for side of marinara as it only comes with aioli. Salmon was great. Served in a tomato garlic broth, really unique and good sized portion. Filet was solid. Only qualm was the bread, it was a sub roll with butter cubes. I get that kids like that but maybe don't serve it if the table is only adults.

My family and I always come here for send off dinners or to celebrate a special occasion and we are never disappointed. Still thinking about the filet mignon and mushroom risotto. We tried the mussels with the red sauce this time and also loved it. Mouth still watering just thinking about it. Definitely a nice establishment, love the staff. Perhaps not the most elegant indoors (the acoustics are not the greatest and it can get loud later in the evening) but truly have the best experience here every time.

4th time here with a party of 7 family and friends. Excellent. excellent. We ordered the gnocchi, outstanding. The grouper. So good. Risotto, the corn. The eggplant tower. All superb. Nice service as always. This place never disappoints. Serious, satisfying, huge servings. Full of flavor dishes. This was a dinner for our moms birthday celebration. The manager and staff were incredibly gracious allowing us to bring a cake that they helped serve. Love this place. You want upscale food. Come here.

This little gem had been on my foodie bucket list since prior to the pandemic. I brought my Missus here for our Anniversary because I knew Reyes would not disappoint. We found convenient street parking just around the block on Grant Place. Believing we would be the only customers on a Monday evening, we observed four tables occupied by regulars who were familiar to the staff. The current owners transformed what was previously a so-so Chinese restaurant into a tastefully decorated dining room whose vivid reds all but scream Italian steak house. The breadth of the menu, impressive for such a cozy room, offers some enthralling choices but steaks and chops are the stars of the show. I began with a palate-pleasing glass of Côtes du Rhône rouge and the Missus had a Bloody Mary which she described as bloody good. She passed on the apps to save room for dessert, but I indulged in a House Salad. This simple green salad was dressed with a delicate citrus vinaigrette that did not overwhelm the field greens. My entrée was the 8 oz. Filet Mignon, served a perfect medium-rare in a pool of demi-glace. It included a generous side of Mushroom Risotto prepared with imported Acquerello rice and topped with shaved Parmesan. My Missus opted for one of Reyes' flagship steaks, namely the 22 oz. Bone-In Ribeye. This was also anointed with demi-glace and accompanied by roasted potatoes and spinach (substituted for broccolini per her request). The spinach, sautéed in garlic and olive oil, tasted salty; otherwise both platters were absolutely stellar. Do not pass up desserts here; all are prepared in-house. I ordered the "Chef's choice Chocolate of the Day," which I'm guessing was a 1/2-mile version of their Mile High Chocolate Cake. This was torte-like and very rich. My Missus had the Apple Pie Ala Mode. We've always considered The Elegant Farmer's apple pie (baked in a brown paper bag) to be the Gold Standard of pies, but she described Reyes' pie as "The best apple pie I ever had in my life." We enjoyed friendly and impeccable service throughout our meal. What appeared to be an overcharge for one item turned out to be an oversight--our server had neglected to hand us a separate "Market Price" list with the menus. But the restaurant graciously adjusted the price. Reyes is a wonderful alternative to those raucous high-end steak house chains found in trendier neighborhoods. We look forward to dining here again.

My husband loved the individual little bottles of spumante.

My husband went once before me and raved about the food and service he had there about a month ago…read more We just went last weekend and I agree - what a neighborhood gem! We started with one of their Westco margaritas - and then we both ordered the Chuletson Con Westco (rib-eye with dinner salad and bone marrow). Wow -- just wow -- the steak was so nicely seasoned that you didn't need steak sauce. And the bone marrow with it -- just decadent - heavenly! The only area they may want to work on is to have a broader wine list as they were pretty limited on the red selection while we were there. Lovely service -- and the more leisurely pace found in a traditional steak place. Would love to go again later this Summer!

Wanted to love Westo because the ambiance and cocktails were beautiful, but unfortunately the food…read moreand service just did not match the concept. We ordered the octopus, patatas bravas, and the steak meal for two. The octopus was extremely overcooked and chewy, and the steak platter itself just felt underwhelming overall. Also... how does a Mexican steakhouse not provide tortillas with a steak platter? That honestly shocked me. The biggest confusion of the night was the patatas bravas situation. Our waitress forgot the dish entirely, then later brought over mashed potatoes and said they were "on the house." I was genuinely confused because I thought maybe this was their version of patatas bravas due to the seasoning on top. When I asked about it, she realized she accidentally brought mashed potatoes instead of the actual dish. She apologized and eventually brought the real patatas bravas, but even those tasted oddly sweet and missed the mark for us. To their credit, the staff did try to make up for it with complimentary shots, and the cocktails were honestly the best part of the experience. The space itself is gorgeous and has a very upscale vibe, but the food lacked cohesion and flavor for the price point. Sadly, not somewhere I'd personally return to.

Being able to walk over directly from the hotel without having to go back outside in the cold is a huge plus. I don't usually gravitate toward hotel restaurants or ones attached to hotels, but the food here was genuinely good. I didn't order a drink this time, so I can't speak to the bar program, but the meal itself was solid. The lunch was a preset menu, and due to my food allergies, I wasn't able to eat most of what came with the salad. That said, the main course was cooked nicely and had great flavor. The dessert was also very good and a nice way to end the meal. Overall it was a convenient and reliable option if you're staying at the Loews or nearby, with quality food that holds up even if you're not usually a fan of hotel-adjacent dining. Our server, I think his name was Jose, was very professional, courteous, and friendly. He came back to check on us numerous times and was very quick bringing anything we needed. We had the asparagus salad, the Darte salad, the grilled shrimp appetizer, the grilled vegetables, the grilled calamari, the carpaccio of octopus, and chicken Parmesan. At the start, they brought out bread, olive oil and grated cheese. The bread was a little dry on the outside, but it was warm. The asparagus salad was missing something - maybe salt? It just felt like it lacked flavor even though it had Gorgonzola cheese on it. The grilled vegetables, however, were perfect. It was a combination of one longstem, artichoke heart, one long grilled carrot, a couple of slices of zucchini, and a couple of asparagus. We had asked for them to be well grilled and they were sort of, I can't imagine how few grill marks they would have on them if they hadn't done what he had asked. The Darte salad was a nice size portion with mixed greens, golden and regular raisins, and walnuts. The balsamic vinaigrette is nice and flavorful, and doesn't separate the way it can at some places. The grilled shrimp were very good, nicely seasoned and very well charred. The grilled calamari were great, although they were quite small. There were many more of them than on the pictures. The carpaccio of octopus was very nicely, presented with very thin slices of octopus a nice bright dressing over it and the greens. The chicken Parmesan was a very large portion with the breaded chicken cutlet underneath a large layer of cheese ravioli all topped with marinara sauce, and then cheese, which was browned very well, it was very tasty. For dessert we had two different gelato - the maple bourbon, which would go great with a banana cake and the hazelnut chocolate, which was unbelievably flavorful and smooth. The pistachio and ricotta cake looks very good, but we didn't want to get three desserts. Maybe next time!
