My son needed a cut ASAP for some school photos we forgot about. Our usual barber was all booked up. Searched around Yelp to find a spot that had multiple (recent) pics of kids cuts, specifically smooth fades and "gentlemen's" cuts w hard parts. My son has always sat like champ, but I know between their smaller heads and some kids are squirmy, not every spot that says "kids" & "fades" are legit. That's why I like to see photo proof, especially considering barbershop cuts aren't $8-$10 like they used to be...at least not good ones. So even tho they're like 30-35 min away from we live, I liked what I saw and booked an appointment. Spot was big, nice and pretty clean. It was a while ago so I don't remember the woman's name who cut his hair but she was good with him, very friendly. She hooked him up with a clean @$$ cut and was actually pretty damn fast for how smooth the fade was. Only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was cuz of the music they ere bumpin'. I'm a Hip-Hop head and I'm not a square. I understand its a real barbershop and not Supercuts. I know there's gonna be dudes cussin', probably some roasting and/or dirty jokes etc. Sort of a right of passage for my young man (8 yr old) etc. I know what to expect and we're fine with it. But on this particular day it was all the MOST graphically raunchy songs back to back to back. Not just like WAP but like Kevin Gates and Boosie songs almost depicting SA . I didn't say anything cuz I know its a barbershop and not Kids Cuts. But even for me, for a shop that markets kids fades and had multiple kinds in there it was bit much. My review is based on the new barber, I'm sure I would have had a better haircut with a more experienced barber. I got my haircut by one of the new barbers, I didn't know at the time. I forgot his name, but I already knew he was new when he said, "Wow, that's the first time I got that perfect." I didn't say anything, I just trusted that he knew what he was doing. I had asked for a low skin fade, 1 hour and 10 minutes later he finished. I didn't like how he cut it because it looked like a high and tight since he cut it way too high even though I had asked for a low skin fade. Had an appointment with Ish the owner today for this barbershop. He accidentally double scheduled with 2 others. So 3 appointments at the same time. But that wasn't the main issue. He cuts me first and rushes while also talking during the whole haircut. Made a handful of mistakes. Barley trims the top of my hair.
