Gifted Hands appliance repair in Austin contacted me in reference to home warranty claim and very very very rude. They contacted me at 11:39 PM with a text and when I responded the next day, they finally called back and was rude and hung up on me when I let them know that was too late at night to text. I do not recommend them for any thing to anyone. read more

They helped us with a home warranty issue-the home warranty company said they could but do anything after the first company looked at our dryer even though they should have been replacing it. Y'all...they're so bad, I didn't even work with them and I'm leaving a bad review. You have to be REALLY bad to make that happen. My warranty company hired them to come out to diagnose our fridge and we didn't even make it to scheduling before I demanded a new company. I called on a Friday to schedule and I got a "can I call you in 20 min"...first of all, so unprofessional. Then they failed to call for the next three days and each time I would call it would go straight to voicemail. Obviously, somebody's cell phone. Long story short, they definitely earned that two star rating they have. They're not interested in quality service in the least. Don't waste your time. I was so lucky to have Gifted Hands as the company to come out and save me after a two week debacle with my warranty company and a different appliance company that had first been sent over. Malcom appeared like an angel sent from heaven to save the day. (Two weeks without a refrigerator)!!!He came in with his many tools and supplies and replaced the compressor in the refrigerator in about 3 hours . Malcom's communication before we met, and then during the whole process, was beyond measure. Also, he is the most POLITE young man, and was extremely considerate of my home. We were assigned to this company by our home warranty when our fridge went out. John the "office manager" never answers the phone or returns phone calls. Like repeatedly.... Multiple messages each day for a week and NOTHING. Malcolm, the technician, however did fabulous work and was very kind. If I was assigned to this company in the future, I would request reassignment. read more

How many times do you have to make a call to set an appt. to come back out to your home to install parts that this company ordered for my kitchen refrigerator? This company basically lied to the Warrenty company who assigned them to come fix my refrigerator. They set up a time for wed. I asked for something sooner, which they didn't have. So I said ok see you wednesday. Next thing I know the warrenty company calls me to say that the job is being transferred to a different technician because the window was refused. I don't know about the quality of their work, but I would not recommend a company who refuses work then lies about it. read more

Malcolm and his office manager were recommended to me by a trusted plumber when my very old washing machine died, and I had a great experience with Gifted Hands Appliance Repair. He was able to diagnose the issue, fully explain and demonstrate the problem, found a solution, parts were ordered and installed, and I couldn't be happier. I've read other reviews and don't know what people are talking about, as Malcolm and his office manager were incredibly communicative, knowledgeable, helpful, professional, and on time. This business does work for a warranty company I use. They are difficult to schedule, make you set aside 4 hours, and then don't show. When you attempt to reschedule, you get an appointment one week out with another lack of commitment. The phone service is rude and unprofessional. If you are thinking about using them, recognize it may be cheaper and more efficient to go somewhere else. Awful..... I think the business model is to fleece the warranty company for the $75 copay and then blame the customer for lack of follow through. read more

This has to be the shadiest company ever! I don't know how they even get any business when they don't show up to appointments. They lied multiple times to my home warranty company. First they said they called and left me a message about my appointment, guess what, I got zero phones and no message. Secondly after my home warranty company verified my appointment, because they never answer their phone and don't return messages left, my window was Monday between 8-12, and they would give a courtesy call half hour before arrival. Notice they call it a courtesy call, but in fact, they lied to my home warranty company and told them they tried reaching me multiple times so they weren't coming because I didn't answer. They called at 11:31am only once and the message said to call them back, the message did NOT say they weren't coming. When I called them at noon after three attempts at calling them back, they said they weren't coming because I didn't answer and they wouldn't reschedule my appointment until NEXT Monday (a week later!!!). I have a missed call log and they tried calling once, not twice. And I have an outgoing call log to show how many times I had to call them before reaching someone. The rude girl who does their phone calls should not have a job in customer service. I can't even review the company for their work, all I would say is don't bother wasting your time with them and have your home warranty company assign you someone else before they have a chance to ruin your day. If I could give them zero stars I would, but Yelp forces you to put at least one star. read more

Unfortunately this company was dispatched from our residential service contract company. They took 2 weeks to set an appointment to fix our microwave and when I asked them to properly mask up (due to covid) they refused and told me that was a "weird request". They are now claiming they came out and I turned them away to collect the trade call fee. They called me when they were 20 minutes out and never came to my house. So they are liars. I'm very disappointed in this customer service. It's my home and I say they need a proper mask. I then contacted ANH services and they came out in 20 minutes, properly masked and fixed my microwave quickly. Super professional and I highly recommend ANH! read more

Very, Very upset at this company. Is there a zero stars rating? I went though my home warranty to sch a tech to fix my microwave (oh this is the 2nd time and gifted hands came out the 1st time too). Home Warranty told me to expect a call within 24 hrs. 3 days later, 07/10, I ended up calling GHAR and the gentleman who answered had zero information on a service call BUT he scheduled me for today, 07/17, a week later between 8-12. Today, at 1:30, when no one had showed I called to see if they were running behind schedule (it does happen)...but she told me "oh no sir, I have you scheduled for Monday, the 20th"...nope, my home warranty even texted me this morning reminding me of my service call today. After expressing my extreme disappointment she said let me call your warranty company and see if they can get someone out sooner. 2 hours later, when I called my home warranty, they told me it had been re dispatched to a different company for next week. Again, very upset and why am I paying to have the same thing fixed again? no customer service at all. read more

I rarely write reviews but I have to say that I was very pleased with the service that Gifted Hands provided our household. Our refrigerator went out on us. We explained to Mr. Prejean that we had a household of 6 including two foster children so we had just stocked up on groceries and they were going to spoil if we did not get our refrigerator fixed that day. We had moved all of our food to ice chest but as you know that only last so long. He did not hesitate. He immediately got the parts we needed and rushed out to the house. After thoroughly going through our entire refrigerator and fixing the issue, he did not leave our house until the job was done. The job was completed at 1:30 am. He did not let us down by going home or putting us on hold until the next day. As a matter of fact he came out the next day to double check on his service. We could not be more pleased with his service. Gifted Hands really does go above and beyond. We were able to salvage most of our food due to his quick response and hard work. The title of this story is, "There and back again... a Home Warranty Tale." A harrowing journey set in the land of Donteverdobusinesswiththistrainwreckofacompany. August 20 - Propane oven stopped igniting. Warranty Company sends out Gifted Hands (August 24). They (a youth, Malcolm) arrive. Identify the faulty component. Ignitor. $40 part that I can get on Amazon in a few days. I already knew this but thanks, Gifted Hands. Malcolm leaves and says Warranty Company will coordinate everything. A week elapses. A few calls placed to Gifted Hands. Upon obviously being completely ignored, call Warranty Company. Warranty Company says part will arrive in a week and that Gifted Hands will coordinate everything. Very well. I wait a week and a half before calling Gifted Hands. Nothing. My household collectively placed at least 5 calls accompanied by voicemails to every listed number on record for Gifted Hands in this timeframe. Multiple complaints placed into Warranty Company. Warranty Company calls Gifted Hands while I'm still on the line with Warranty Company. You're never going to guess what happens next. Gifted Hands answers the phone and schedules a repair appointment. The plot thickens. It's official. On Sept 30 between 9-12 AM Gifted Hands will install said $40 component that I should have just ordered on Amazon and installed myself. In fact, I did - and the part arrived in 2 days - but I accidently ordered a top ignitor when I should have ordered the bottom ignitor. Note: more than a literal, actual month has elapsed since the date that the part was ordered and the date that a repair is scheduled, and only because Gifted Hands doesn't want to lose their contract with Warranty Company. September 30th 9-12 AM rolls around. I wait around until 1 PM to put in another complaint against Warranty Company because obviously Gifted Hands didn't show up. I know it's kind of weird in 2020 to be punctual but I have an important meeting coming up and I planned my meetings for today around the visit from Gifted Hands. So I call all of the numbers listed on the Gifted Hands Wordpress website that was built by a highschooler. Nothing. So now I'm on the phone waiting for a human from Warranty Company to pick up and I'm doing a little internet espionage on the Gifted Hands. If you Google "Taxable Entity Search in Texas", you'll eventually discover that (Unprofessional) GIFTED HANDS APPLIANCE REPAIR L.L.C. operates out of what appears to be a rental property and the registered agent is a gentleman named Malcolm J**** B*****. Oh yeah, and I find out on Yelp, Google Reviews, and the Better Business Bureau that many people have had identical experiences. While I'm on hold with Warranty Company, I receive a call from a number that I recognize to be Gifted Hands because I have called them so many times in the past month that I have the number memorized. A young lady who doesn't introduce herself starts apologizing for some unintelligible mistake, which I assume is the fact that they completely missed the service window without calling me. I recognize her voice as the same young lady on the Gifted Hands voicemail, which I have memorized because I have heard it so many times as they never pick up the phone. She blames the delay on their phones being "down" but now they're "back up" and everything is great. I asked if the phones have been down for an entire month and she said no. My spidey sense leads me to believe that a high schooler just told me a lie. "So sorry. We still want to make sure you're tooken care of today. Technician is 45 minutes away, do you still want us to come over?". I look at my watch and do some trigonometry, calculus, and geometry and eventually calculate that this will bring us to 1:45 PM. I have a meeting at 3:30 "Sure." So Malcom shows up at 3:27 PM which is precisely 3 minutes before my meeting. He installs the component in about 10 minutes and goes to walk out the door. I attempt to level set with the youth, Malcolm and inform him that the company's practices are askew. He looks at me like I have something foreign growing out of my forehead. I clarify by stating that I've called his "business" for a month, left multiple voicemails, and only received communication once I called Warranty Company. "I have nothing to do with that," Malcolm replies tersely. "Don't you have an ownership stake in the company?" I ask. "I don't own the company." "So you're a managing member of the LLC but you don't have anything to do with the operation or ownership of the LLC?" "No." "Well, then who owns the company?" I inquire, a bit confused at the complete lack of ownership and accountability that the youth is demonstrating. "Because I'd like to talk with someone about this." "Gerald." "Gerald?" "Yeah." "What's his last name? Does he have a phone number?" "He doesn't let us give out his last name or his phone number." "Ok, Malcolm. Whatever. See you later." read more

Horrible customer service. There is a reason this company is working with a warranty company....they are taking advantage of warranty company payments. Alex in the office tells you a service date and then changes it for no reason to a week later. They don't care about the customer, find another company to service your appliances.
