I have heard numerous positive remarks about the food at this restaurant. I came across a YouTube review about the grilled cheese and fried chicken sandwich that I intended to order. Unfortunately, it is not available until 2 PM, and at 1:15 PM, the rest of my party had already placed their lunch orders. I politely requested the server if they could make an exception and prepare the sandwich for me, but the response was a firm no, stating it would not be possible until 2 PM. She suggested that I could order a children's grilled cheese sandwich instead. My wife chose fried chicken and waffles, while my son opted for a burger patty melt. I calculated in my mind why they could not fulfill a customer request that essentially combined other items they were serving at that moment. Eventually, the manager approached to see if I would like to order something else. I explained that I came specifically to order that sandwich and did not understand why they could not simply add fried chicken to a grilled cheese sandwich using the ingredients they were already serving to others. I struggled to comprehend the reasoning behind this. The explanation given was that they make omelets until 2 PM and have no space on the griddle... yet they prepare grilled cheese sandwiches for children and patty melts. Moreover, I noticed that none of the tables were occupied by customers eating omelets at that time. The food that was served looked appealing, and my family enjoyed their meals. We dine out frequently and consider ourselves food enthusiasts. I have numerous options for excellent restaurants that are also very accommodating to their customers. I am always open to trying new dining establishments, but the reality is that if I have a negative experience--whether it be with the food, service, atmosphere, or portion sizes--I will not return to that place, as there are many other restaurants that meet all expectations. It was a straightforward request made at an appropriate time to enjoy a sandwich that was outright denied without a valid reason. They receive a 1-star rating instead of the 4 stars they could have earned. Additionally, they did not gain a new customer. Update: I placed this same review on Google and the owner not only was not apologetic but falsely attacked me. Proves they believe they are perfect and don't appreciate real authentic criticism. Last night was our first time for dinner & a movie at GIGGLEWATERS. We were with three friends, and all of us agreed that we will definitely return because of the equally good service, food, and atmosphere. Nikolas took our drink orders before the show, and delivered them before the movie started. Commercials from the 1960s and advertisements about the venue and how it operates played on the big screen. Courtney came out to welcome us, review the red/blue/green lights at each seat, and then started the movie at 8. We viewed ALADDIN while dining on delicious burgers, sitting in comfortable seats. Unfortunately it was too dark for my husband to see that his medium cooked hamburger was rare in the middle. It was good, but the rare portion was a surprise in an otherwise satisfying burger. Mine was perfect through and through. I got a salad instead of fries, and it was worth the $2 up-charge: cucumbers, extraordinarily good shredded cheese, tomatoes, greens & iceberg lettuce with ranch dressing on a long plate. My husband's fries were good (I snitched a few.), but nothing out of the ordinary. Our friends enjoyed their drinks, pickle appetizer, & burger, but one friend mentioned that her alcoholic beverage seemed light on alcohol. I'm not sure if there is more one bathroom here, but my husband said he found only one - for men and women - and it was clean. The bar area is small and intimate, with one extra large booth, and several tables for 2-4 people. The bar seems well stocked, and all of the staff were friendly. The patio area outside seemed nice, and we appreciated the large parking lot next door (limited parking on the street). Hidden gem alert! Walk inside and be transported back to the 1920s in this speakeasy style restaurant and bar. It's located right on the main walkable strip of shops and eateries in Safety Harbor. Stopped in for an old fashioned and a burger. The "Truffle shuffle" deserves a shuffle, a shimmy, an electric slide, and a round of applause. I was deciding between a few burgers on the menu and my waitress really steered me right with this one. It came with regular fries which really hit the spot. This meal is big enough to share or take half home as leftovers. The old fashioned was pretty good, had somewhat of a cinnamon taste. I'm into the more traditional ones but we still worth a try. The staff was friendly and even showed me their private theater! So cool! They have a private theater viewing area where you can watch a movie and eat dinner or have drinks. The food scene in Safety Harbor is now a legit destination for me. Everyone said I need to try Gigglewaters, & boy were they right. I brought my son & his wife there, & we chose to have items from their brunch menu. The wait staff was fun & the menu is full of so many awesome sounding dishes. I got an amazing omelette with barbecue chicken & bacon & peppery sauce. The flavor combination was more than just great...it was brilliant. The brunch came with a choice of adult beverages making it even more fun. The accompanying tater tots were extra flavorful. So what an enjoyable meal. My son said his burger was amazing. Be warned bring patience and lowered expectations but expect a good cocktail. The cocktail I had was a solid version of an old fashioned but didn't follow the menu recipe. The flamed orange would have been a nice touch as the menu listed. The bartender was too busy chatting with friends at the end of the bar to serve the 2 solo guests seated at the bar. It was a bummer Savannah was preoccupied as I would have stayed for at least another drink but I didn't feel welcomed as a solo guest. read more

This place was a wonderful find in Safety Harbor! 1920's themed speakeasy found in a New Orleans fashioned building. We started with the Pretzel loaf with choice of two dipping sauces. We went with honey mustard and beer cheese... wow was this probably the best pretzel we ever ate ! My husband ate the Robert Ford, a house specialty. It's a fried chickens sandwich with bourbon bbq sauce , pimento cheese and butcher block bacon and pickles, it was delicious. The chicken was melt in your mouth . I had the Southern Fried Chicken Salad , I subbed out grilled chicken. It was awesome! The salad was large and the chicken again was flavorful, it melted in my mouth! Wish they were a little bit more generous with their sauces that come with the appetizers, rather than nickel and diming people for the sauces, but the entrees (salad, burgers and chicken sandwiches) were really good. They've even got a little glass tabletop cocktail smoker, and if you're not into that, what are you doing with your life? I'm visiting the area and I'm working in the co-working space next door. I went to Gigglewaters for lunch and it was great! The service is wonderful, the servers are very attentive and friendly and quick! The food was delicious! I ordered the Gigglemelt which is a patty melt but much much better than the traditional patty melt. They use a nicely toasted garlic bread, melty pimento cheese, deliciously sautéed onions and a tasty burger patty. The fries that came on the side were well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Next time I stop by I'll try some other things off their menu. I definitely will be coming back and telling my family and friends. read more

We went for a date night during Restaurant Week. It was also a night they closed down the main street, so things were very crowded. The service was good and the food was fun, but very expensive. I felt crammed into the table and felt somewhat rushed through the experience because I think they still had a list of reservations. The server forgot my drink a few times but was able to bring extra dip on the side to make up for it. I would definitely try this place again on a less crowded night and I imagine my overall experience would be much more enjoyable. read more

Why 4 stars? Because if you're into fried food, this is your paradise. --- --- --- I bookmarked Gigglewaters as soon as I heard they opened their doors, but I'm not in Safety Harbor super often, so I was just able to make it there recently while on my way out to Dunedin. Not that it's necessarily specific to Gigglewaters, but aren't Safety Harbor and Dunedin awesome? The menu here is gigantic and kind of hilarious. The aesthetic is that of a prohibition themed bar - it almost feels like a miniature Ciro's Speakeasy, but the menu consists of stuff that you'd find at the Florida State Fair. And it's located on Safety Harbor's Main Street, which isn't really a match with either theme. Gigglewaters is weird and that's one of the main things I love about it. I had a hard time deciding what to order, but eventually settled on the Mac Dog. It's basically a hot dog with every topping ever invented piled high on it. It's hilarious to try and decipher how to actually eat it because it's the size of a Fiat. The best course of action is just to be lame and use a fork, but damn if I didn't at least attempt to make it work without silverware. My wife ordered the Robert Ford chicken sandwich, at the recommendation of her friend and our server. We also split some fried pickle sticks. I really enjoyed the variety of dipping sauces that were available - we both liked the horse radish aioli. All in all, I'd say everything was tasty, but we both felt like we'd been through a small war when we were done. My body just can't handle that much fried food anymore, but don't get me wrong, it was an excellent place to eat if you're looking for some pretty epic comfort food. read more

So why not a 5, as others pointed out service. While our waitress and her trainee were very pleasant and nice, we felt neglected. Drink orders take a while, food is prepared fresh so no complaints but no follow through. Ask for ketchup never get it, waiting for to go boxes takes a while. Service makes or breaks a place. Why 4 stars? Great food and drinks, fun staff and of course the ability to go see a movie! Been here a few times over the past year and it never really disappoints. Here you have a wonderful Mom and Pop restaurant / movie theater that has transformed Safety Harbor's restaurant scene options from "Florida Fun" to "Huh, I could be back in the prohibition era, or maybe trendy New York? .... With Tattoos too!". It's really cool to be able to either come inside and enjoy the scenery, sit and watch a movie and eat or sit outside on a cool October day. The owners are always friendly and are active in receiving feedback from their customers. Service has been fairly consistent however you can tell when they reach max capacity. Seems to slow down a bit. I'm guessing that it's just what happens, and we usually are too busy enjoying the delicious cocktails to notice the slowdown but it is there. Speaking of the cocktails, they are fairly pricey but they are very good quality. If you happen to be there on a Happy Hour special, take advantage of it! Food is great. The menu offers amazing burgers, hot dogs and other items like tasty salads. Variety is great and you can tell they have been refining the menu a bit over the past 6-or-so months. What is really amazing is one of the owner's fathers was the one helping them set everything up and you do find him cooking from time to time. Oh and the butcher block bacon? Please Gigglewaters, don't ever change this. The bacon is AWESOME. Triple thick chunks of bacon on the burgers is amazing. If you're on the mood for some delicious juicy burgers, yummy hot dogs, fancy popcorn or ,amazing Mac & Cheese, this Speakeasy spot is the place to go!! They have the pandemic in mind to keep you safe during this time. They increased their outside patio, and it's covered now. The inside is clean and spaced out. They have lots of people working and wearing masks. Rachel is the owner and she's truly the best! She takes care of her staff, her kitchen and her restaurant! Our food never disappoints. We had the classic popcorn to start, a delicious and strong margarita and for dinner I chose the delicious Mickey Blue burger and my husband chose the Valachi (burger with bbq chicken). Very happy with our experience here. This is like a non-pretentious hip place that has excellent innovative cocktails and highly elevated bar food with a twist. My friend was sold when she saw the adult root beer float. Made with root beer simple syrup and it really packed a punch. They even had ice cream for a nice creamy texture. I've had better margaritas if I'm being honest however, there's many other choices on the menu for next time. We enjoyed the hulless popcorn. If you've never had it before, it's a smaller variety but nice and soft and doesn't leave the kernels behind. We tried the white truffle flavor. Not overwhelning. Of course we had to try one of their 10 plus dipping sauces. We opted for the disco dip which was essentially packet brown gravy but it was still very delicious. I wasn't a fan of the malt vinegar aioli, I will skip that one next time. Speaking on next time, I'm going for one of their hotdogs! They looked so yummy. Movies are $5 per person and all proceeds go to charity. How fantastic is that?! The week of Halloween Guess what they are playing... Halloween movies! The food at the restaurant is excellent as is the service. I had a mushroom Swiss. hamburger, and it was delicious. My friends had the patty melt and raved about it. Both burgers were cooked perfectly, as were the accompanying fries. The minor drawback is that the restaurant is loud and the acoustics in the main dining room are less than ideal making conversation difficult. My suggestion is to eat outside if you want to hear what your companions are saying. That minor flaw, aside, I would highly recommend this restaurant. read more

This time service was a little more organized. Food was about the same. My fried chicken sandwich was so heavily breaded that the interior of the crust was unpleasantly soggy. Every year I come to giggle waters to see Christmas vacation. Purchased a ticket, but I found out that I had to attend a funeral called the restaurant to see if I could switch it for a different time. The staff at the restaurant was no help and told me to reach out to Meredith. I sent an email to the events email box. I heard back from Meredith. I replied back and it's been a whole week and I haven't heard anything I don't care if the ticket is nonrefundable but at least tell me. I really wanted to see the movie, but I'm not going to see it at this point just left a really bad taste of Giggle waters and I'll gladly take my business elsewhere. What a fun place! Checked out Gigglewaters over the weekend with some friends and we had the most amazing time. The decor was stunning featuring photos of celebs sporting dope tattoos, really comfortable couches and just an overall vibe that makes you feel like one of the cool kids. This spot features a full bar and food menu which I was shocked by! I originally thought it was a bar only. They also have a private screening room where they show various movies daily; this night they were showing Aquaman. I ordered the Southern Friend Chicken Salad and my fiancé got The Gojira Hot Dog. The salad was massive! It was full of greens, tomatoes, shredded cheddar, Fritos, cucumbers and chicken. Everything tasted fresh & delicious. The Gojira hot dog was wrapped in bacon and topped with pineapples, sautéed onions and a sweet teriyaki sauce. It was freakin phenomenal! To drink, I tried the Bathtub Gin & loved it. It was refreshing and had me giggling all night. I can't wait to come back and check out the private screening room. We recently moved to Safety Harbor, and this was our first visit here. Nice crowd for a Saturday night, I'm sure it was much busier pre-Covid. Staff were wearing masks/face shields, and checked temps before you entered. Love the atmosphere, and the fact they have a screening room to watch their movie, if you wish. We decided to dine inside at a table for 2 in the middle. The Stella on tap was supurb, we must go back to try more of the alcohol selection, they have some great drinks on the menu. My lovely wife ordered the Goldie Mac, I chose the Sonny Corleone burger. Both meals were outstanding! Great flavor on the burger!
