I recently had some engine lights come on and had needed to get some recall work done. If you do have to get your honda worked on I would recommend coming here and if you are able to definitely get it done during the week instead of the weekend - if you do have to come on the weekend GET THERE EARLY - there will be a line. The work done was top notch a little more than the honda closer to me so its not necessarily good value but the quality of the work is outstanding. They could have kept me more in the loop on the progress aside from that they did a great job of keeping me in a 2026 for a loaner while work was being done. My daughter leased a Honda HRV. In the financing process she was saddled with two warranties that she assumed was part of the lease agreement. She had no idea of what the warranties involved. I feel she was taken avantage of because of her inexperience with the process. I spoke to the general manager and his response was that she knew what she was signing. I totally disagree. I owned an Acura for sixteen years and my daughter had a Civic for six years. My association with Honda in the future will not exist. I have been taking my car here for years and I will say the advisors have been a hit or miss. There was one who actually listened when I said my trunk doesn't open when it's freezing cold outside. Crazy as it sounds but he was able to find the solution for me, but then he left to another dealership. My most recent experience has left a sour taste in my mouth to listen to others when they say never go to the dealership for service (unless you're under warranty). I've had issues with my dashboard flickering while the car is off and many other issues like my car alarm going off randomly as well. I read some online forums that were specifically for my car and year and they ALL said my car is commonly known to have issues with the keyless module unit. However, when I took it to the dealer, they looked at me crazy. Their solution - new alternator $1400 and a leak in my spool vale $1600. Um no, my car is 8 years old ... I honestly think they were trying to get me to sell my car to them because one advisor said he buys cars on the side. So I took it to a chain mechanic shop where they said I definitely need a new alternator but there is no leak in my car. So I replaced my alternator. However, a week later, I continued to have electrical issues, in which, the mechanic told me to take it to the dealer to figure out. Luckily, a friend referred me to another mechanic and he agreed it was my keyless unit, now my electrical issues are gone. Now I get when people tell me not to go to dealerships - they definitely try to get you to do unnecessary service and the labor cost is absolutely ridiculous. read more

Bought the truck on 05/24/2025. A 2018 Ford F-150. In less than a week, the check engine light appeared. I had just put $4000.00 down and received $2000.00 for a truck I traded in. When I called to the sales person, he stated I purchased the warranty and to just bring it in and the service people would take care of it. Once I was able to bring the truck in, they kept it for two days. The service technician then called me back and told me that it is the catalytic converter and that It is not covered under warranty. I was then told it would cost me $5300.00 to fix the issue. I believed that I was sold a vehicle that had a problem that should have been fixed by the dealership before even selling the vehicle. I traded in my old truck because I was beginning to put too much money into it. Now I'm being told I have to pay $5300.00!! All before paying my first car note, or even receiving my license plates. I purchased a used Accord for my and three months in, I'd spent more on repairs than I did on the car. Despite having purchased an extended warranty, I'd been told nothing was covered, and my requests for assistance seemed to go ignored. Then I met the General Manager, Daryl Waterwall and my entire experience changed. I felt heard. Understood. And valued as a customer despite never having purchased a vehicle from that dealership in the past. Daryl apologized. And not the type of apology one gives when they want you to go away. This review is for the Service department at Gillman, not sales or finance. I have a 2016 Honda Civic EX-L. Service advisor, Kevin Hardy, was great at communicating the mechanic's findings to me and what needed to be repaired. He was patient with any and all questions that I had because the repair was an extensive job that required replacement of my entire A/C system. The repair was initially $5600 but Kevin let his boss (service director), Donald Sparks, know that I was interested in the repair but that it was too cost-prohibitive. Donald reached out to me via phone and offered to do the job at a discounted rate, $4600. I held off and contacted Corporate Honda to see if they would be willing to partially help cover costs (anything helps in this economy) as my 10th generation Civic is widely known to have A/C failures and Honda faced multiple lawsuits regarding the A/C failures. Corporate Honda declined to help out on a "Goodwill" basis due to age and mileage (94000 miles). I contacted Kevin after finding out and let him know what corporate Honda said and that I would like to proceed with A/C repairs for Donald's quoted price of $4600. It took about one week for replacement of my entire A/C system, which is faster than I was expecting. Kevin and I communicated through text and phone and while he wasn't responsive at all times or replied within the same business day, I eventually got ahold of him whether it be through text/call. I got my car back, A/C works flawlessly, like new (because it is). Upon receiving my car back, in the lot, I noticed the steering column adjustment was stiff and improperly re-installed after they put my dashboard back together but I brought it to Kevin's attention and they resolved it the next day in 30 minutes when I brought the car back to the dealer. There is a certain peace of mind knowing that OEM parts are used and labor is performed by Honda technicians and in turn, under factory warranty in case anything goes wrong. Is the price still absurdly expensive going to the dealer? Of course it is. That is at any dealer. Just have to decide what's worth it for you. Generally, I'd still get most work done by myself or at a trusted local mechanic. But in this case, Kevin and Donald helped me out and turned an expensive dealership visit, to something a little more palatable with their customer service. I hope this garbage can of an A/C system Honda designed for the 10th gen Civic doesn't give me anymore problems after this major costly replacement. Also, I want to point out to other customers that the online portal that posts price for services when you book an appointment, is NOT accurate. The "Brake Fluid Flush and Exchange" is ~$200, not $179 like listed online. The "Coolant System Fluid Exchange" is ~$200, not $159 like listed online. This is after selecting your vehicle that you want to be serviced, too. The prices are in error and hopefully the dealer fixes that as to not mislead customers like me. I'm very disappointed in my first and will be the only service center appointment that I had this past Saturday. I dropped my car off for an oil change and some work on my throttle body/fuel injectors. It started with drop off... where the service advisors were too busy sending SnapChats to ask customers if they are in need of service. Then, once I was pointed to my service advisor, she asks me why I would want service on the throttle body or fuel injectors. Once I told her a different Honda recommended it due to carbon build up, that is where she kept trying to upsell me unnecessary items. For example, after I told her that, she said, oh with this winter weather, your car will need a 50/50 blend transmission fluid flush so your car doesn't freeze. I promptly tell her, my car is from Ohio and is well equipped for cold weather, no thanks! Then, I leave and she calls me and states that the technician did an assessment on my tires and I need a balance and tire rotation. Then, I promptly tell her that I recently got my tires changed -- with a balance, rotation, AND alignment elsewhere. Then she makes up some bologna excuse that "oh it's because of the mileage on your car." No thanks! Then, when I picked up my car, as I was driving home, I noticed the technicians left a ton of oil smears all over my windshield, driver side window and rear window. I brought my vehicle in for an oil change when I got my car back, the alignment was off. I informed them and they informed me it was because 1 of my tires was a different brand refused to do the alignment. I had to take the cehicle to a different location to get the alignment. When I tried informing management Donald continue to gaslight me over the situation, and claimed that the alignment happened because of a different scenario than either the tire branding or their responsibility. Ladies beware! I normally have a good experience with my go to advisor. But when I went and she wasn't available I was scammed out of $300 by Loc Lee. I have premium coverage with my warranty and when he realized I wouldn't have to pay $2,200 out of my own pocket he created a "relearn" fee in order to get money in his pocket. I confirmed with my warranty company and other advisors about this fee and both agree it was made up. I do not pay out of pocket every month for good warranty to be falsely charged for repairs. I did go in to address this with Ryan Blanchard, the service manager, and I have not received any follow up. I am disappointed by the way this was taken care of. He introduced himself and welcomed us in his office. I noticed that I was the main buyer on the application, when I was suppose to be the second. My husband was to be the main applicant. I simply asked why is that. His response was "well aren't you the one that graduated? You should be first." I proceeded to tell him "that's not was explained to us in the front". But ok moving forward. He hands us a paper showing a college graduate APR of 7.9%!!! for 6 years. So I asked him "We were told that there was a special for doing a 3 year finance plan for 2.9%." Moe condescending response back was "Well college graduate is an automatic 7.9%, you don't qualify for 2.9%. Also, the people in the front (the salesman) does not know anything about finance anyway!" This is where I had to draw the line. I felt like he treated me like I was born yesterday. SIR, I graduated with a MBA (so I have a background in FINANCE), probably have way more schooling than him, buying a car and financing is NOT my first rodeo. I told him to take my graduation off (since schooling doesn't seem to make any difference) and redo my financing, I have way over 820 credit score, for you to treat me like someone that just graduated high school. I was livid at how he treated me in his office. Is this how he treats most of his customers who doesn't know anything finance? Why talk badly about the sales person? He's very condescending and will try to outsmart you. He then walks out, and another finance guy comes in. (5/5) Chris Nguyen was a complete 180. He made the finance mishap so much better. We've been a loyal customer to this store for years. This location had always been prompt and dependable as far as waiting time, loaner car, quality of work, car wash and all. Sadly, quality is going down. We bought our Honda Hybrid Accord 2020 here so naturally we chose to bring our car for its maintenance. My last service was for oil change. I noted to them to pay extra attention on the tires due to constantly losing air pressure ( all 4 tires less than a year old). I waited for 41/2 hours for EXPRESS SERVICE. This is ridiculous. Service people were excellent and empathetic BUT I was told they lost 5 technicians few months back. I mean, if you are short on technicians, maybe you need to cap the number of car you are receiving daily. Your waiting time is worst than waiting at the doctors office. 2 days later, the TPMS lit came on again indicating the tires were NOT checked for damages nor leaks, after waiting for 41/2 hour. I'm not bringing my car back to this location. We're shopping for a new car for my son. I'll be taking my business to Honda Cars of Katy. Not Recommended. read more

I used to be a loyal Gillman customer. I am not anymore. Not after the way I was treated with such disrespect and had so much of my time wasted. The experience this time around at Gillman has been TERRIBLE from the get go. For starters, the night I bought it was an atypically busy Monday night, and I ended up waiting for an hour and a half after closing to speak with the finance team. While I was still waiting to be called into the finance office, Remi came to me and let me know that it was late and that the finance team would not be able to get to me and they needed to go home. I understood, but would have appreciated being told this BEFORE I waited an hour and a half. Remi also told me that night that there was an issue starting the car so the battery needed to be replaced. He said they could replace it in the morning, and I could come in after that. When I arrived, they informed me that the car was now able to start fine, and they did not need to replace the battery. However, 1 month later I had to replace the battery on my own dime. Last week, I was driving home from work and a flashing check engine light came on. I quickly decided to take it to the nearest Honda dealer only a few miles away, right off the interstate I was on. I felt fortunate to be so close and able to take it to any dealer. Upon arrival, I learned that the car was now barely outside the warranty. Less than 2% over. I understand how warranties work, and I also knew that I had some pretty extreme circumstances that I believed someone at Honda needed to hear about before any final decision was made. This dealer recommended a few routes to go, one of them being to go back to Gillman since that's where I bought it in the first place. We agreed to begin running the diagnostics, to save everyone time, and I left and immediately called Gillman Honda. I asked to speak with the Service Manager, and after a few attempts, a nice woman took my information and assured me that the Service Manager would return my call ASAP. After 2 more days of waiting, I still had received no call from anyone at Gillman Honda, so I decided to drive the hour it takes to speak with them in person. Someone escorted me immediately to the service manager. After talking with him in person that Saturday, I had the first glimmer of hope that someone was listening to me at Gillman and that we would explore all the options to take care of this. The service manager said he knew exactly who he could talk to about this, and that he would not be able to speak with them until Monday. He assured me he would call me on Monday. When Monday afternoon rolled around, I called him for an update. He answered the phone and told me that the person he needed to speak with was still in a meeting, that he had not forgotten about me, but that he needed more time. He did call me back later that afternoon, and unfortunately I was in a meeting this time. He left a voicemail. He explained in the voicemail that this would not be covered under the warranty, but that if I could get the car to Gillman we could work on some other options. He also said call him back with any questions. This raised lost of questions for me since the car would need to be towed. Do they have an internal transfer or towing service, or one that is preferred? Would they waive any fees to have it towed there or would I be responsible for that (just to name a few)? So I called back and left 3 more voice messages asking the service manager to call me back. He returned NONE of my calls! Again, 2 days later, I decided to drive another hour back to Gillman to get some answers in person. When I arrived and introduced myself to him again, he looked puzzled that I was there. When I told him I had been trying to get in touch with him, he said in a defensive tone, "I left you a voicemail telling you to get the car here." When I told him I left 3 messages for him after that on the direct line he gave me, he never acknowledged or apologized for not receiving or returning my messages. We did start talking and discussing some options, ALL OF WHICH we could have discussed over the phone if he had just returned even one of my messages. What a COMPLETE WASTE of time and disrespect. The cherry on top is that, eventually, he tells me that I should "honestly, explore the service at the other dealer. It will cost you about $1,000 more to have the car repaired here." When he said this, I had never felt so dismissed in my life. He made me feel like I was a nuisance and a problem to get rid of, rather than a human being or even a valued customer. And I was treated like this while I am trying to care for my three kids, the youngest of whom is 5 months old, and also while caring for my wife who is receiving and recovering from cancer treatments and surgery. This is a lot of extra burden on top of a really trying and difficult season for my whole family. When it's time to buy my next Honda, I won't be Gillman's problem read more

We bought a CRV HYBRID. We tried to figure out how to pay our monthly finance bill. No one at Gillman told us how to set up payments. We got calls telling us to pay but didn't say how. We finally contacted Honda Finance and we're disappointed to find out they do not take bank transfers. They want bank account number and routing number. Now we gave ti check that they didn't take too much out. Tried to call the finance dept at Gillman but nobody answer and was told the voice mail was full. My transmission code just came up on my odyssey when I went to Honda and had it done in October. Why would they have me do it prior to really needing it. I initially went there for an oil change. I took it to a different place this time and my oil is at 10%. If they had filled it up in October, no way my oil would be a 10% currently. There is no oil leak. Just ridiculous! read more
