Came here while visiting Mont Tremblant. Didn't want to eat at the village so found this place…read more The atmosphere is diverse. There is both the pub side with TVs for sporting events, and the dining room side with a log cabin type classic feel. Wait staff are extremely friendly. Got here just before a rush - the place does get very busy! Appetizers we ordered the tapas trio - which is your selection of 3 apps. We got the chicken satay with an awesome peanut satay sauce, the deep fried cauliflower, and the truffle potatoes. The truffle sauce for the potatoes was amazing. Very complex and just enough to split. The main course with the braised short ribs with the mashed potatoes. You don't have the upgrade the side - the mashed are a staff favourite. When the main course of braised short ribs came, it was amazingly tender, fall off the bone, and the sweet sauce was just right. The creamy mashed potatoes and veggies made a perfect finish. Cannot compliment the place enough. It lived up to the reputation and we will be back again! Great place for a dinner with friends or family just a few minutes from the slopes.

Our server was really good and the food was really good. We tried the non-alcoholic guava mule. The guava was nice and sweet and complimented the spicy of the ginger beer. We ordered a French onion soup, steak Diane, and a beef Wellington. The entrees came with choice of salad. We tried one of each , house Gibby salad and the blue cheese wedge. This was a lot of food for us. The French onion soup was my favorite, good flavor, lots of onions and that nice browned cheese top. Both salads were good, the house salad was a little lighter since the blue cheese wedge salad had a rich blue cheese dressing and bacon bits on top. The steak and beef Wellington was also good. In general, we ordered medium rare, it was a little bit rarer than I expected but not I'd edible. So something to think about if you need your meat to be cooked more. The prices seemed fair for a steakhouse and for the amount of food we ate.

Walking in, the atmosphere struck me--it's dark and cozy, but still well lit enough to feel inviting. We were seated right away. I was a little worried about how we were dressed, but the vibe turned out to be pretty flexible. We saw everything from nicely dressed couples to a bachelor party--complete with the groom-to-be in a hotdog costume! The menu was straightforward but impressive. Every entrée comes with your choice of a Gibbys salad or a wedge salad with blue cheese, plus a potato (do yourself a favor and get the Monte Carlo--you'll thank me later). For my appetizer, I ordered the French onion soup. I've said before that certain restaurants have the "best" one, but this version may actually take the crown. It wasn't oily, and it was perfectly topped with a generous, melty layer of cheese--the way French onion soup should be. I followed that with the Gibbys salad and a 12-ounce filet. I love a good filet, and this one hit the mark. My husband went for the lamb with the wedge salad and enjoyed both thoroughly. By the end, we were far too stuffed for dessert, so we called it a night. If you're looking to splurge on a memorable, romantic dinner in Montreal, Gibbys is the place to go
