    Ordered the Spicy Dan Dan Noodles, and it came with plenty of pork, cucumbers, and sauce. The noodles were also cooked well. And since it was the Spicy Food Fest, it came with Spicy Sichuan Sesame Sauce. It was indeed a little bit spicy, but otherwise, it was standard. They delivered the food fast for a food truck, and it was a food truck, so ambiance will be variable.

    Got to try this food truck at an Off The Grid event at Foster City! We got the general chicken rice bowl, mongolian beef rice bowl, and a 4pk of charcoal lava buns! The general chicken rice bowl was ok, a little too sweet and doughy for me. Wouldn't get it again. The mongolian beef rice bowl was great. Loved how it came with some bok choy to even it out. The beef was on the mild spicy side which gave it great flavor especially in top if rice. I loved the charcoal lava buns! The inside was la egg yolk sweet custard and it was warm. Be careful biting into it because it's very runny. But so so good. And the design is cute and fancy with the gold dust. I will be keeping my eyes peeled for more.

    This place is mid. The food wasn't super hot which is confusing considering they're using a wok? The shrimp dumpling was good (8/10) and the bbq pork was decent (7/10) but they needed lots of hot sauce for the flavor. Service was quick though I must say.

    For lunch, a coworker and I decided to share a plate. Since Off the Grid: Lunch on the Lane is close to work, she picked Wokitchen. She grabbed us lunch on Wednesday, October 3rd around 1:15pm. Hand Made Dim Sum ($10) *BBQ Pork Buns *Shrimp Dumplings x3 *Pork & Shrimp Siu Mai x3 *Lotus Wrapped Sticky Rice: sticky rice w/minced pork, shiitake mushrooms, & chinese sausage (+$0.50) Decided on the assortment plate since we both like variety. Plus, we got to pick our own items. I just tried the shu mai and ha gow. The were fine. Your average dim sum dishes. My coworker didn't like the siu mai as much as she got a weird chewy bit. Her favorite thing was actually the lo mai gai (sticky rice), so she found herself wishing she got two of those instead. We were disappointed as they forgot our cha shu bao (pork bun). We just let it go as we didn't want to go all the way back to Maiden Lane. One of the least impressive food trucks I've been to in a while. Would have given them three stars if it weren't for the missing pork bun. I'd definitely pick another truck next time. Note: I got back to work after my coworker did, so my pic is just of my portion.

    Such an amazing culinary experience from Wokitchen Food Truck! I had the opportunity to try it for the first time when they were stationed at "The Crossing," in downtown San Francisco. When I went there was only one employee, who could have been the owner / manager, and they were very friendly. The menu was diverse and the Honey Walnut Prawns (which is what I ordered) was incredible. The sticky jasmine rice was awesome and the honey prawns with walnut was so good! If you ever see this food truck be sure to stop and buy something, you won't be sorry!

    Better than expected. The charcoal lava buns were fluffy and delicious. Not too sweet. The black bean chicken rice bowl came packed with veggies. For $11 it was better than expected. I hope they stick around and become a stable at the new food truck scene in the East Cut.

    Wokitchen is a food truck from Belmont which makes Chinese dishes including dim sum. At the Silicon Valley Comic Con, they had many food trucks outside of the convention center. As I walked through the many choices, I spotted the Wokitchen truck. The people running the truck were very friendly and helpful as I decided on what to order. I ended up getting the handmade dim sum plate. The dim sum was fresh and yummy as I sat eating in the shade at the park. I'd try them again for their fusion tacos.

    A Chinese food truck offering protein & rice dishes, dim sum and some unique innovations like crunchy mu shu pork tacos. I wasn't a fan of the dim sum; it was pre-made and just kinda hanging around waiting for customers, so doesn't taste like fresh out of the kitchen and off the cart. The tacos were awesome though. So averaging it together, I'll give this a solid "A-OK". Mu Shu Pork Tacos: The best menu item I tried and probably worth a special trip to this food truck. It's got the traditional mu shu filling with a modest amount of pork and some veggies like cabbage and mushrooms adorned with lots of nice sauce. I actually don't mind that it was so veggie-balanced (as opposed to being meat overloaded) since it just worked well that way. And I love that they used a crunchy taco shell instead of a soft tortilla. That really makes it unique instead of being a slight variation on the mu shu pancake! Fried Taro Pork Dumplings: I really liked this one. Flaky fried exterior with an interior of mashed taro surrounding some ground pork. Awesome texture and flavor contrast. Fried Pork Dumpling: Very doughy and the filling seemed more heavy on the veggies (especially mushroom) than pork. Probably my least favorite. Fried Pork Potstickers: These are not potstickers since they're not cooked on a flat surface (i.e. pot) that they would stick to. Instead of having that delightful half-steamed half-seared contrast, it was basically a deep fried dumpling. Veggie Eggroll: Meh. Cream Cheese Wonton: No crab or "crab", just cream cheese and some herbs. That's fine, still a tasty treat. Sesame Ball: Pretty standard with a crust of crunchy sesame seeds around some mochi with red bean paste inside. Could even pass as a dessert. Definitely enjoyable. Passion Fruit Lemonade: I love all things passion fruit, so had to get this. It seemed like they used an overly sweet passion fruit syrup instead of fresh (or even frozen) passion fruit pulp. Not ideal, but I'll take it since passion fruit flavored items are just so rare.

    Wokitchen now comes to my business park in Mountain View. This is the first time I've tried them and I'll have to say they are pretty good for a food truck. I got their mu shu pork tacos and were pretty good; and for $5.50, not a bad price. I also got their 6-piece dim sum ($7.50) with BBQ pork bun, shrimp dumpling, pork & shrimp siu mai, fried pot sticker, veggie egg roll and a fried pork dumpling. You do get to choose from 11 dim sum items (but the sticky rice is +$.50). Overall a pretty good meal from a food truck and would definitely try their other menu items. Next time I'm going to have to try the steamed rice bowl with chicken, shiitake mushrooms and chinese sausage and their other rice dishes.

    I was pleasantly surprised to find a dim sum food truck at Off the Grid Cupertino last week. Needless to say, it had the longest line of any of the food trucks because no one can resist the allure of steamy hot dim sum. I ordered the dim sum plate (8 pieces for $10), mu shu pork tacos (2 tacos for $6), and lotus wrapped sticky rice. It sounds like a lot for one person but I didn't know when this food truck would be back so I wanted to make the most it. Plus, it's not every day that I get dim sum for dinner. When I picked up my order, I appreciated that the server put the mu shu tacos into a little bag to make it easier for me to carry. It's the small things that count when it comes to good customer service. I was super excited to take the first bite of my mu shu tacos when I got home because the concept sounds amazing but they turned out to be just alright... it was more like eating cabbage and hoisin sauce out of a shell. The dim sum itself was good and I would definitely order it again. The shu mai were plump and tasty. The steamed BBQ pork buns were pretty standard for what you get at typical dim sum restaurants. The sesame balls (w/ red bean) were perfectly crisp and chewy. They did a really good job on the lotus wrapped sticky rice (w/ minced pork, shiitake mushrooms & Chinese sausage) too. One of the better ones I've had. This food truck will definitely satisfy a craving for Chinese comfort food. I hope they become a regular at OTG Cupertino!

The actual entrees were really good ( sweet and sour pork, kung pao chicken) service was friendly and fast . BUT I have been searching Redwood City, San Carlos , Belmont and surrounding areas for a decent potsticker. Sadly to no avail. Oddly enough the best potstickers are at cache creek casino over an hour away at Chang Shou. This place is no different. Their potstickers were undercooked perogies. Not sure they know what a potsticker is around here. Most places mislabel by calling them gyosa, or dumplings, or even buns. A good potsticker is firm, well cooked and as close to burnt on the bottom as you can get without actually causing a char. They are not ....wet, soggy, doughy, or a straight up undercooked pork bun. I would come back for the entrees but it's just too expensive.

So I learned my lesson by not sticking to my usual order, and won't order wonton soup or curry beef stew again.

They have a number of nostalgic dishes including - lu da guer (驴打滚), jian bing, braised pork on the menu. We ordered peking eggplant- this is a must order on the menu! The eggplant was cooked perfectly (flavorful and delicate)- not greasy. The service was also amazing- the chef came out and checked on us a number of times. We had our kids and the chef gifted us sesame balls for dessert. The restaurant had a very mom and pop shop feel. Alot of the diners were regulars. It felt so cozy, casual, and relaxing. Homemade Soy Milk - 1/5 I think ordering this at dinnertime when the soy milk has been cooking all day was a mistake. It looked fine, but it tasted burned. When I brought attention to it, the server said it was supposed to be that way, denying it was burned and awkwardly joking about it afterward. Unsweetened, so you need to add sugar yourself. Soft Tofu - 4/5 Soft tofu, wood ear, golden needles (daylily buds) in a thickened soup. Looks a bit like hot & sour soup in appearance and texture, but it's neither spicy nor sour. In a few spoonfuls, the soft tofu did taste burned to me, but I could overlook it mostly. Comforting to eat on a cold day. Chive Pie - 3/5 Impressively huge. However, because they are big, thin, and flimsy, you cannot easily eat this as a handheld. Not crispy or thick enough a pancake to hold the delicious eggs & chives filling. Cumin Lamb - 3/5 My friend seemed to enjoy the lamb, but she didn't eat any of the greens, telling me they were for seasoning purposes. I ate the greens, but this dish came out fast and wasn't warm or heated enough. Beijing Mu Shu Pork - 5/5 I enjoyed the taste and texture of this mix of pork, egg, wood ear, cucumber, and golden needles. We were forewarned that this dish doesn't come with pancakes, like typical mu shu entrees do. We received a complimentary shredded potato chilled appetizer (4/5) and warm sesame balls dessert (3/5). Sesame balls seemed overfried. Restaurant has its own dedicated parking lot, so servers are expecting you to enter from the door closest to that. We entered through the street main entrance, which caught them by surprise. Restaurant appears to be a converted house, so you can dine in various little rooms. Restaurant was cold inside. It seemed that one door would not necessarily stay shut. I also don't think the heat was turned up. I felt like all of us were wearing coats. I chose most of the dishes and let my friend order in Mandarin Chinese. The chef came out a couple times to check on us, but primarily interacted with her in Chinese.

The soup was not good. The roast duck was good, with tender meat and fatty skin. Flavorful with the plum sauce. The fish congee was good, though a bit too runny imo once cooled down. The fried donut (you tiao) was crunchy and very doughy. Would be nice if they could slice it. I can agree with everyone about their thoughts on the 18% mandatory tip fee, it's crazy lol. Mandatory service fee for hk service (which is minimal service). It was so hard to flag down the waiter for refilling water, or to get more napkins. The place was empty and they were on their phone the whole time. Waiting for that automatic tip. Whatever man.

King Chuan has a detailed menu, with several dishes having a brief description. I ordered Wor Won Ton Soup. I asked for dark meat chicken only. They said "no problem." The Wor Won Ton Soup was very good. The soup had napa cabbage, carrots and broccoli. The chicken was tender and easy to eat. It also had pieces of beef and a few shrimp. The broth was light, and not salty. I also ordered the "Hot Dragon Chicken Wings." With a name like that, I expected very spicy wings. The wings were not spicy at all. In fact, I had to add salt to bring the flavor out. I was puzzled as to why these fried chicken wings have a mild flavor if they're served with spicy seasonings. I guess I was expecting something else. Overall, a nice experience.
