We were the first ones there on a Thursday night and the host was very kind and so were both bartenders. Looked through the menu and ordered their espresso martini and also the old fashioned. Both drinks were on the pricier side but well worth it. My espresso martini went down easy. I would definitely come back for a drink or two with friends or a good spot for a date :)

I Don't Care is a speakeasy tucked inside the Amway that leans hard into the hidden-bar concept…read more There are no signs and you need to put a code on the key pad outside to get in, and the only way to get that code is by signing up for their mailing list. That said, it is pretty painless. You can sign up on the spot and the email with the code comes through within minutes, so it does not slow things down too much. They offer outdoor seating even in the winter, and while it is technically heated, you will still need a coat. It was cold enough that we chose to sit inside instead, but the interior was also chilly. Every time the door to the patio opened, a draft of cold air rushed in, which made the space feel colder than expected. The drinks are on the expensive side, but the quality mostly backs up the price. I ordered the Donna's Kiss and it was absolutely worth it, very well made and delicious. My friend had a Moscato that was sweet and easy to drink. We also ended up getting two free shots of tequila because they liked our vibes , which was a nice and unexpected bonus! Definitely a great move on their behalf because it just goes to show that the staff there were super welcoming and that makes me want to come back (probably when it's warmer!!).

It was so good - and pretty! I had my usual bees knees. Missed the mark unfortunately. It had some fizz, which it should just be gin, lemon and honey. No soda. We ordered the deviled eggs as a starter. They were made with dijon and cornichons, topped with paprika, chives and lardon. Such a delicious bite. Hubby had the salmon tacos from the daily special menu. He loved the Spanish rice that came on the plate and the perfectly seasoned moist salmon. I had the seafood tagliatelle with shrimp, crab, salmon belly, fennel, and capers in a vodka sauce topped with toasted breadcrumbs. It was amazing! Thankfully, we had a refrigerator in our hotel room because I took half the tagliatelle to go. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're ever in the Grand Rapids area. The space is beautiful, the food is delicious and the service is spot on. Great find!

This review is relevant to Gin Gin's August 12th, 2025 Food Menu (take a look at the specific website address of their Food Menu PDF filename to see what I am talking about). At the time I am typing this, the 12 most recent reviews for Gin Gin's are "Great" (Five Stars), and you have just earned #13. We were celebrating a special occasion, and we came a few minutes before opening on Saturday afternoon (we were a walk-in, no reservation). We were greeted the moment the doors were opened, encouraged to come right in, and from that point on, it just got better. Mike was flat-out cool & competent, straight up. He was nearly as excited as we were for being there and literally told us that we were going to have excellent food. We did. From images online, the Parker House rolls just looked like they would be a step up, and they were. While the Burrata's texture was nice, the show stealer for that appetizer was the Focaccia bread! I ordered the Burrata for the Burrata but kept filling up on the Focaccia bread like I skipped lunch! It was that delicious. The Wedge was also great, and the blue cheese dressing coated everything just right! It was not a "chunk" fest, it was not overpowering, and there was more than enough dressing to go around on the dish. Also... bravo on the cherry tomatoes. They even looked great! The Prime French Dip was major, and the Delmonico was close to unbelievable. While the Delmonico already came with garlic butter, I chose to order some torched blue cheese with the Delmonico, as well. The garlic butter was not "everywhere," and the torched blue cheese did not cover the entire steak (which was very appreciated). I cannot remember the last time that this occurred for me... but the last bite of my Delmonico was actually the best bite! The Black Cherry Sundae was better than expected, too. Blueberries and cherries are already amazing in Michigan, but this was still pretty next level. I am beginning to mentally compare other places that I have been throughout the country: Lawry's in Beverly Hills back in the day, Shanahan's/The Famous/Houston's/Del Frisco's (Rocky Mountain region), Pinnacle Peak back in the day (San Dimas, CA), French Quarter dinners, Chicago dinners, Las Vegas dinners... and Gin Gin's is RIGHT up there with Shanahan's & Houston's! I understand that it is very difficult to argue with or "beat" anyone's nostalgia when it comes to food, but the fact that I am even sharing all of this should tell readers that Gin Gin's is definitely in that kind of "ranked territory" for me. A stellar experience, and we were already talking about when we were going to come back as we were walking out of the restaurant. Lastly, and this has to do more with post-2020 reality. While we walked in very excited, our expectations were not high at all (just due to changes that have occurred throughout the last half-decade in this industry, if you know what I mean). I have not felt this satisfied leaving a restaurant establishment since before 2020, and even though it took over five years to achieve that personally, I am still thrilled about our experience, even as I wrap this review up! Everything about this restaurant keeps me coming back -- the food, the drinks, the atmosphere, the service... it's all so consistently great. Apps: Burrata - Changes slightly with the seasons, but it's always incredible. The focaccia it's served with is outstanding -- warm, fluffy, and perfectly salty. This is a must-order every single time. Wagyu Meatballs - So flavorful and tender, served with that same amazing house focaccia. Another staple for me. Tuna Crudo - Fresh, unique, and delicious. Such a bright and balanced dish. Entrees: Crab Lumache - My absolute favorite! The homemade pasta is unreal, the sweet crab is so delicious, and I usually add the steak -- it takes it to another level. I always end up ordering this again and again. Spaghetti alla Vodka - Another amazing pasta dish. Rich, creamy sauce with chunks of burrata that melt perfectly. Add the Wagyu meatballs -- you won't regret it. Prime French Dip - The only item I probably wouldn't get again. The sandwich was a bit dry with just a small smear of sauce, and the au jus (mostly onions) was flavorful but not enough liquid to soak up. Could use some cheese or extra dip. Sides: Parker House Rolls - SO tasty! Soft, fluffy, with herbs and flaky salt. The butter that comes with them is heavenly. Potato Gratin - Cheesy, creamy, and so comforting. Hand-Cut Fries - Crispy, salty, and perfect with ketchup or garlic aioli. Desserts: Aunt Gin's Cheesecake - My all-time favorite dessert here. The pistachio streusel and berries make it next-level. Classic Chocolate Cake - Rich, dark, and decadent -- a perfect classic. Black Cherry Sundae - Fun and unique! Great to share, and they even bring it out for birthdays -- such a sweet touch Lemon Crème Brûlée - Light, fresh, and flavorful (just not my personal top pick). Cocktails & Mocktails: Fantastic -- creative, balanced, and beautifully presented every time. This place is a total gem. I recently dined at Gin Gin, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! The shrimp scampi appetizer was absolutely delectable, bursting with flavor. Their champagne smash drink was perfectly refreshing and expertly crafted. The 16oz ribeye, topped with charred blue cheese, was cooked to perfection--juicy and tender. I was lucky to attend both a soft opening and come in on opening night! First, the building and ambiance are stunning - perfect for a date night or special occasion, but also comfortable for a normal dinner out. The food is next level - we had the meatballs for an appetizer the first night and the crab cakes the second - both were delicious. For entrees we had filets (both nights!) and then shared the gratin potatoes and the heirloom tomatoes for sides - everything was cooked perfectly. The filets were some of the best we've ever had! Our entrees were the pork ribs and the (some type of pasta filled with cheese whose name alludes me). The ribs were good, but the flavors were foreign to me. Black olives and ribs is a new combo, and while it wasn't for me, it was still great to try a new thing. The pasta was the star of the show, it felt like that scene in Ratatoullie when Anton Ego eats the ratatoullie and is transported back to his childhood. The ice cream was BOMB. House made cantaloupe ice cream?? I'm not a dessert guy and this knocked my socks off. I'd go again just for this. And the cocktails were lovely as well. I got a martini with olive oil, which was literally vodka with three drops of olive oil and some Maldon salt. Simple yet perfectly executed. My fiancée got a sort of gimlet which was also superb. Overall, Cafe Mamo reminded me that dining at an establishment is an experience, and that experience is influenced by more than the food. The service, atmosphere, cocktails and desserts were all truly top notch. Fries and brussels were delicious, but the lobster mac is overrated (bland) and our steaks were mediocre. Both were slightly overcooked (not a dealbreaker, but for $85/each I'd expect better). Add in the fact that they just drown them in butter and salt to hide the poor cooking (somehow, very little sear and barely any grill marks on one of the two steaks). Service was excellent - I'll give it that, but it was a little slow at the end once our meal had concluded to get us packed up / being a check. Atmosphere - it feels upscale, but that's just because of the prices and menu selection / options. Food came out quickly, portions were good for the price. They also validate parking for the lot just behind their building (street parking is tight / limited). Unfortunately, it's unlikely that we'd come back. Good news is, there are lots of other options for special occasions in town so weigh your options before booking here.

It's usually pretty busy so you should come knowing there may be a wait, but if you're lucky and interested, you should be able to snag a seat at the bar and get pretty quick service! That's where I usually like to sit and talk with the bartenders who are always so friendly! The ranch is absolutely delicious if that's something that is your jam though - and their Wing Wednesday deal? MY FAVORITE!! You can even get it for take out! The vibes inside remind me of a 70s grandma's basement and I absolutely love it! It's not your typical GR restaurant vibe and it's just so fun. I love the no fuss feel and worth it. Definitely worth the wait if you have time!

The food was good and had good portion sizes. The menu has a lot of Hawaiian and Asian flavors represented. The drink menu is massive with a great section of NA mocktails that were really fairly priced. We got drinks and entrees and the entire process took around 45 minutes with me struggling to decide what to order. The service is really attentive without being overbearing. The use of both servers and food runners allowed for the process to be quick while not feeling rushed at all. Our server also gave great recommendations and was helpful throughout the night. While the price of things may feel high, I do think the ambiance was pretty worth the cost and the food was enjoyable! I'd definitely come back.

How it ended up here is a mystery but this is a legit Tiki palace, and certainly the best Tiki bar I have ever seen. Shout out to Jacob who was a super impressive bartender and showed me the notebook Rum list that blew me away. Is this Tiki heaven, no it's Grand Rapids!

You can eat, drink, and play golf - you can do it all or you can do just one. However, if you plan on playing golf / using a simulator bay, you should call or go online and make a reservation. It gets busy there. I love that they have seasonal cocktails. They had some special ones for st Patrick's day. They also have happy hour M-F from 2-6pm. I booked a bay, it charges per 30 min. The hour was $65. I had one cocktail. I got a briefing on the system and I was on my way to playing a very difficult golf course in South Korea. They have club upgrades but I stuck with the standard bag. I had a great time. Next time I will choose an easier golf course! Also, I believe the server calculates their tip not only on what you buy but also your bay time. So I'll review my check a little closer next time. The sell golf gloves if you need one/forgot yours. There is a small parking lot next to the building or you can park on the street or garage nearby. Bathrooms are on all levels. Fun place. I'll be back.

We arrived around 5:30 p.m., early enough that there were still places to sit, inside and outside. Our host explained that the tables were full at the moment, predicting a table would be ready within 15 minutes. We agreed and headed to the bar. As we were getting settled there a table opened up and we brought our drinks from the bar to the table (Sonoma Cutrer Chardonnay, $15; White Claw ($5) and a Bombay Sapphire ($10), all subject to a 3.5% surcharge, which is never actually explained, so we can't tell if the server gets to share in the benefit of the surcharge or whether he or she gets nothing from the charge. I assumed the restaurant was not sharing this money with the service staff, so I tipped as though she was not a beneficiary of the charge. Service both at the bar and at our table was great. I ordered the Prime Rib French Dip ($22.00, thinly sliced prime rib topped with melted white cheddar and au jus. Served on a toasted hoagie bun with fries). The meal was presented with less than a 20-minute wait, totally in line with the venue. Our server was observant (she kept our water glasses full) and helpful. Since the sandwich was pretty substantial, I was able to box up half plus the leftover fries, making a great lunch the next day. Great service, authentic American menu, nice indoor layout with equally nice outdoor seating.
