Prieto Smog Center did not automatically send my smog certificate to the DMV. After getting my car…read moresmogged at this location, I received a letter from the DMV denying my registration due to no proof of smog. I called to ask if they could send it again. The woman on the phone was rude and said they cannot send it again. I have all of the paperwork and the smog certificate they gave me, but she still refused send it to the DMV. Update in response to the business owner's reply: The registration was paid. I paid it before getting the smog done and you are already aware as I explained that when I called. Your claim about the 90 days is not accurate. The CA DMV confirmed you could have re-submitted my smog certificate. The cert is still valid. My main complaints are the lack of accountability, rude staff, and the inconvenience this caused. I am a single parent with 2 disabled children which makes an unexpected lengthy trip to the DMV very difficult. I explained this when I called. My child missed a therapy appointment and I had to pay for a caregiver to stay with my kids while I went to the DMV. The woman on the phone said they don't keep records past 90 days. I offered to bring the cert and all of my paperwork to them to send, but they refused.

FIVE STARS isn't going to cut it though. I'd give them TEN STARS, if I could. Every time I've taken a vehicle in, I've been incredibly happy with them. For starters, they're HONEST. They explain the each step as they go through the process. They didn't try to upsell me anything and gave me free advice to better maintain my vehicles. Ok, I wasn't prepared for a female to smog my car,, but dang!!Ani not only impressed me with her knowledge, but treated me with respect and kindness, which is exceedingly rare these days- in any business! As my car was being tested, I glanced around to see others being treated with the same conviction. So a different AAA driver came to do the tow. When he saw where the battery guy recommended he said they recommended certain businesses that are essentially AAA approved but the last person he sent there he had to be towed a week later from the repair place and he ended up taking his car here to Diaz Auto Mechanic. It was the best decision I could've made. There was nothing wrong with the alternator it just needed a new battery. They could have lied and took me for a bunch of money I didn't have but they are honest and I appreciate that. If I don't have to bring my vehicles any where else I will not. I'm a single white woman and my entire life I've been hosed in repairs in everything from cars to household repairs. In November 2025 I took my 07 nissan 350z into this shop because I started have idle issues. The…read morecar would shutter as if it wanted to shut off. The car would still would idle within spec. They diagnosed it said let's start with a spark plug ,throttle body cleaning and throttle relearn. These services would cost over 700 dollars. I agree to the services. 2 weeks later I pick up my car to a undrivable surging idle. The car is reving up and down on its own. I pay for the services he provided, spark plug and throttle body cleaning. It cost me over 500 dollars. The mechanic said some one else was working on the car. I've owned the car for about three years and done nothing but oil changes and brakes. Took my car to so cal Z in Colton and the diagnosed it top to bottom and said your 1st problem was a simple vacuum leak. Then your 2nd problem was damaged throttle bodies and your 3rd problem is 2007 nissan 350z ecu is very fussy and will need to get sent off to be reprogrammed. Picked up the car 2 weeks later. The car is still has a high idle but much closer to spec gave it some time for the ecu to relearn. Performed a couple throttle relearns on my own and the car is back to normal. Now the biggest problem I have here is that im out of 3000 dollars for a simple vacuum leak
