I stopped by this place on a Friday night and it was busy. Most of the tables inside were all occupied. I tried the pasta salad and it was amazing! I got it with ranch on the side. They were generous with their ranch because they gave me 2 cups. I also ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza which took over 20 minutes to get. I thought the wait was a little too much, but it was made to order. The pizza slice was huge, delicious, and it had just been freshly done! I thought the food was a little pricey for pizza and a pasta salad., but I guess you're paying for the quality of the food. I've been here several times and will continue to come back. The staff was friendly and even apologized for the wait time. If you're ever in Costa Mesa you need to stop by and try this pizza spot located in a shopping center. read more

Their food is pretty good here! We picked up a to go order and it was tasty and hot when we got back home! I saw they had a lunch special so I went back one day for lunch. You can get a slice of pizza and a soda for an inexpensive price. I got a slice of Godfather Pizza which was crisp on the bottom crust and tasty with all kinds of meat and garlic too! I got a soda with it and it was $8.00. The plainer pieces are even cheaper! And they have a special where you can get two slices! A good quick lunch and a great piece of pizza! I ate mine in my car! Came in here with the girlfriend as we both had a hankering for Italian Subs. I got the large and she got a regular. The place is nice inside.....small but with cool decor. The staff was friendly. We got our order to go and took it home. My sandwich was good, smaller than I'm used too.....but my girlfriends was TINY. I guess I'm used to a sub either being 6" or 12" but it was literally about a 4.5" sandwich. WTF? Seriously? I mean it was tasty but for $5 she was still hungry after it was gone. No bueno. This is our first visit to this Gina's. While the food is always really good at Gina's the customer service at the Newport locations can be a hit/miss. Well the service here was exceptionally friendly. We were greeted upon arrival and someone stepped up right when I walked up to the counter. We received our pasta, salad and veggies quickly. A delivery guy walked in and someone had walked up to the counter maybe a minute earlier and He went straight up and asked him if he had been helped yet and took his order. I was very impressed with all the young men working there tonight. read more

Classic sandwiches here are hefty and pretty darn tasty. The full sized are big enough to split and run around $9. I have yet to try their pizza, and I've only had takeout here, so I can only fairly judge them by their sandwiches. Toppings are fresh, breads are good quality, value is decent. Turkey Club is simple but better than most chain eateries. Pastrami sandwich had too little pastrami, which skewed the flavor too heavily to the pickles and mustard. A couple of years ago their pastrami was served with more meat, and Yelp photos show that. All i have to say is bring back the meat. Even so I'd eat here again. It's a good 3.5+ star place, but I rounded up because service was solid. read more

Been eating at the Corona del Mar and Newport locations for years and had nothing by great things to say about the pizza. I've given this location a shot since moving over here but there always seems to be something disappointing. Whether its the long wait for pizza ordered ahead of time or pizza that is overcooked or lacking toppings, there just always seems to be something disappointing about it. Have since started going to Haus of Pizza across the street and their service and pizza is always excellent. Have now made the switch and would recommend others looking for better quality pizza. read more

My party ordered a small cheesy pizza and the lunch fettuccine Alfredo with added chicken. The pizza was pleasant but you can't really mess that up. However what caused me to write the review was the pasta. The Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo was disappointing. The sauce had NO flavor, it was like they literally poured heavy cream by itself on top of limp pre-made noodles. I come here about once a month and only get the same thing (lunch special #5, Rasta salad with a slice of pepperoni) so I can only speak to that. The Rasta salad is AMAZING! I get it with balsamic dressing (your choice) and it is so refreshing since it's both a salad and a pasta dish. I tried it once and have not looked back. It has something to do with the noodles - too amazing for words. I get it without onions, pepperoncinis, and tomatoes so you know I'm picky. They serve it first and just when you're finished and satisfied with the Rasta, you get your pizza and it's like a dessert to your lunch. SO AMAZING! It comes with a fountain drink too which isn't such a bad lunch deal for about $9...$10 if you get an extra topping on your pizza (comes only with cheese). I like to add olives ( boyfriend hates olives so I can only do this when we're not sharing but if you like olives I recommend this ! ) The chicken pizza slice - I truthfully am not a fan of their pizza. But nothing against them because I honestly like that pizza slice that sits in a display all day and is not put in the oven. I love cold pizza! And now for my new true love, The spaghetti and meatballs with creamy marinara- this is my favorite spaghetti in all of Costa Mesa now! I crave it like once a week. Over priced and had little to no sauce, toppings or cheese! Ordered the traditional crust which was the thinnest crust pizza I've ever seen. Guy at the counter said "yep, that is the traditional, the thin is even thinner". I dont think the crust could by any thinner. Won't be going back. I love this place. It's my go to pizza place. The rasta pasta with cilantro dressing is amazing. I've never had anything like it elsewhere. We brought a group of 15 in for pizza for our daughter's 9th birthday and this place was amazing! They easily accommodated our large group, moved tables and chairs and got us seated quickly. The lady helping us and taking our order was super friendly and on top of everything. The best part was the pizza tho! Oh my gosh this is the best pizza hands down we have ever had. The restaurant itself was also super cute and clean. Pretty Italian frescos on the walls made it feel like you were in Italy. Wow, this place is great! The pie was devine! The staff was even better! My family and myself stopped in 7/25/18 after a long day at the Aquarium. The young men working there are very friendly and helpful. We ate out on the patio. We left after a very satisfying meal and i unknown to myself, dropped my wallet at the table. I visited Gina's Pizza on Sunday July 5th alongside my boyfriend. We had been craving good Italian food for quite some time. We went in eager to try out the food and knew exactly what we wanted. We were quoted 10-15 minutes wait time by the Cashier. Thought great that's barely any time. The first 15 pass and no update. We waited outside at the bench near the door so that we were able to be at eyes view. Thas when I noticed the Cashier had no mask upon answering her phone... now the issue we had wasn't that she had no mask on but the fact that in her hand she had a roll of bread with no gloves on (while on the phone). Hair in complete disarray. I do not care that the bread was going Into the oven that was unappetizing. The only comfort we had was knowing that the bread was going to be in high temperatures. She then continued on her phone call and then left to bicker with the kitchen staff about timing. (JOSE was the kitchen staff that day and was the ONLY employee to have any sense of urgency in getting orders out). Then came in a younger girl and could not for the life of me figure out what her purpose there was. We initially thought awesome one more person to help out. (DEER CAUGHT IN THE HEADLIGHTS MUCH?). About 4 other customers came in to order food and left as well as others checking in on order status and were in the same position I was. The first cashier continued to pressure Jose while she continued to do other things in the back laughing with the pizza delivery man, who appeared to be on lunch break. Jose noticed me looking and then proceeded to notify the cashier and she went off to say "I DON'T CARE IF SHES LOOKING I QUOTED THEM HALF AN HOUR". At that point it had been well over 35 minutes. Never heard an apology for the long wait time for any of the customers there waiting or for myself. The first cashiers Customer Service was absolutely wretched. Truest definition of unprofessionalism. I question if she even has her Food Handlers Card because frankly her way of handling herself in the food industry is disgusting. To end this review on a lighter note my thanks and respect goes to Jose who was the only one to show true professionalism and composure during the small rush they had that afternoon. Food was great. The food is Bad/Good. which is why I used to love the place, now I am only going back tomorrow to get my money back. I have been a Gina's fan for years. So I am super sad that the owner has turned into a total jerk, at least at the Costa Mesa location. Today I called for delivery, I am willing to pay $35.07 for the following: Salad Med. Hawaiin Pizza 2 liter diet coke. SO excited to get Gina's delivered, I honestly eat here like once per week on my walks around the neighborhood. Then they told me my card was declined! I knew this was not true and checked my back account - they had processed 2 transactions for that amount and told me that they did not and couldn't send my food. NOW I have $70 missing from my account and NO F+cking pizza. The owner was abrasive, made excuses for the transaction, but never the interaction. No one ever offered a solution to the problem, other than "oh well you can come by tomorrow and if if charges you we'll reimburse you then" I've been in service 15 years, these are not the steps to service recovery and now I would discourage ANYONE from going here. I placed my lunch order with Papa Johns' since I knew they were reliable, friendly and 1/2 the price of Gina's. Is this what I get for supporting local? Bad service, bad attitude and inflated prices. This guy gives small business owners a bad name. The Good: I can only say how I feel about the pizza. I ordered a large peperoni pizza to go for, I think, $18.99 plus tax. It was your standard size 8 slice pizza. That's were the norm stops. I would say it's a slightly thicker crust than a thin. They cook it so that it's crisp and crunchy and chewy on the inside. That's the way I like and hence the 4 stars :D After all, I believe this place came in first for Fox 11 OC Best Pizza joint. The Bad: I guess you can call this high-end pizza. My ideal pizza price zone would be a bit lower. The Ben: While I was waiting for my food, one of the owners, Andy, came by and chatted with me. I really enjoyed getting some back story on the joint. Margherita pizza w/whole grain crust option- I liked this one I thought the flavor was great, my dude wasn't super into it. Maui pizza- I thought it was okay, my dude really liked this one!
