I go to this buffet a few times a year and I definitely think it's worth a stop if you're in the area. Lunch and dinner prices are under $20 and vary by day of the week and age. They also have a carry out and made to order menu but I've only ever been for the buffet. Stand-out items for me are their freshly made sushi, potstickers, honey chicken, black pepper chicken, and lo mein. I love that so many of their dishes have big pieces of broccoli, onions, peppers, mushrooms, etc. In addition to the sushi bar they also have a stir-fry bar where you can go through and select your own raw items (including eggs, meats, fish, veggies, & noodles) and they cook it up for you in the sauce of your choice. I think Ginger has descent food - it's all buffet and a wide variety. Traditional Chinese food, seafood, and a few American staples. I appreciate how clean the buffet is, well stocked and wiped down. I would eat here again, even if to ignore the not too friendly or welcoming staff. No one cracks a smile and it's a little uncomfortable. But the food is descent. Three of us ate for $53. If the service was more friendly, I'd feel better about leaving a tip & I do tip generously... I just don't think the staff is inviting or welcoming. I'm a sucker for AYCE buffets. Don't get me wrong, I know most buffets are just different people cooking the same food from Sysco. However, there is something about this place that hits a little bit different. The service is consistently quick, and we've never had to wait for a table, even during what should be the busier hours. In my experience, the food is almost always replenished promptly, so we're not hovering around an empty tray hoping it magically refills. They also offer a solid range of meat options, and I really appreciate the variety of proteins they have around. I also genuinely enjoy their hibachi station. It's simple, but it always scratches that itch and there are a lot of options for sauces/add-ins. Overall, this is a very solid buffet, and can't beat it for the price. 4/5 stars. read more

Everything went well! I was immediately greeted as I walked in the door. The place smelt good not like dirty or moldy or anything like that. The tables were plenty. The booths were plenty. Visited this restaurant yesterday for dinner and every item on the buffet was old and cold. Every item looked as though it was cooked a week ago. I did enjoy the peel and eat shrimp but the cocktail sauce was lumpy. The hot and sour soup tasted like cleaning supplies and the unsweetened tea was salty and tasted dirty. This place is a favorite haunt since it's pretty close to home. The sushi is really good, and we often go just for that (not top shelf, but way better than most Chinese buffets). One thing I really like about this place is that there are lots of options that aren't fried / super greasy -- also uncommon for a Chinese buffet. I love their seafood dishes, and they often have big beautiful butterfly shimp on the buffet. Definitely worth checking out. read more

Stayed in a hotel down street from this location. Phoned in an order as wife was too tired from traveling to dine out. Order was ready in 15 minutes and was correct at a good value. My wifes chicken chow mein was very good. I ordered kung pow chicken and was spicier then I am use to, but was ok. I felt it was more authentic meal than I get at home. Wonderful food and excellent sushi. The service is amazing. The servers are very attentive.

The variety is massive. The restaurant is very nice inside, but the food is NOT hot enough on their steam tables.

It was okay. Was there for a family event. The food was cold. Service for drinks was very good.

This one's a home run! What a great experience coming here. Plenty of options on a weekday afternoon and lots to enjoy. The food tastes great too- hot, fresh, and delicious! So many things like dumplings tend to be frozen and premade, here you can tell things tend to be hand breaded freshly prepared. Food is rotated often and sesame chicken is on par with take out places. Honestly it's the best Sesame chicken I've tried from this area takeout and bistro included. Also they have things like roasted duck and lots of shrimp dishes for dinner. All you can eat roast duck for just under 20$. They have a Mongolian style grill with fresh delicious meat and veg and a skilled cook. End the whole evening with an assortment of pastries and soft serve ice cream jello or pudding. I'm giving 2.25 stars. I literally have had better. I have been fortunate and traveled quite a bit in life. There is nothing particularly wrong with Ginger. We went at the lunch hours (not 2030..what would one expect?- I didn't understand that complaint from another review). All the dishes we had were just okay, not that highly flavored (hibachi was downright bland although I asked for spicy) but that is likely a concession to mid-western palates. A broad variety of options, so should be able to find something you want to eat. I think places like this are what you the customer make them. The restroom smelled like someone shit and rubbed it on the walls, the only thing this place had going for it was that the lady was polite. I would not recommend trying to eat here. I was two cents short on my bill, i asked the lady if she had two cents to spare. She said no, so I pulled a dollar out and she game me my change and we left. Chinese buffets are a minefield. They are a mixed blessing, promising exotic and familiar fare with no waiting, and a wide variety of dishes to pick and choose from. Too often, the most that can be said is; "Well, the food sucks, but there's lots of it." Not so at the Ginger Buffet. This is one of the good ones. For under ten bucks, they serve freshly made sushi -- made on the premises -- and while they have their share of the ubiquitous roll sushi, they also serve salmon nigiri, and yellowtail, and unagi. Yep. That's right. For about ten bucks. All you want. They also have a Mongolian grill, allowing you to mix up your own little specialties and have them cooked for you. And they don't scrimp either; you can have scallops and shrimp, as well as chilled snow crab legs and mussels. Often its the seafood that gets the heave-ho first as cost savings go into effect. Not here. The tea is meh. There. I said it. It's that urn-made oolong-ish brew that is warm and wet and lacks any other defining characteristic. The bulk of the cooking here is okay; above average, but not show-stopping. Here, it's the little things that more than make up for it. Lychees on the dessert table; really decent salads. They have a mixed Caesar salad here loaded with garlic and shredded Parmesan. Yow. Not Chinese, sure. But really good for you. Good value, and I never regretted any of my visits -- which I can't say for all of the Chinese buffets in the area. read more
