    Ginger beer!
    Rachel A.

I'm a fan!!!! It was a delicious and healthy drink to have while walking around the Mountain View Farmer's Market. They don't add much ice (which I think it cool of them) and they were super friendly.

Spicy, carbonated, sweet and tangy ginger drink. If you bring back the bottles you get a $2 discount.

Mega is clearly far and away the best Asian market in the Bay area... having said that, I do have…read moresome complaints but will give it the 5 stars it deserves. Let's start with the good, or I should say best. The sashimi here is the best of any Asian market bar none. You could even say better than some Sushi restaurants (I won't name them). Even some of the newer Asian markets like T&T have disgusting sashimi... to the point you can taste the ice bc they hadn't fully defrosted it. The only nit I have is bruh... stop putting the frickin plastic sauce packets right on top of the fish. Why? Why would you do that? Stop it. Come on. Why in the actual F would you do that? Ok, I know this sounds more like complaints but I do really like Mega Mart to be clear. 2 other issues: #1. Dude... what're you guys doing with the panchan? When did you start adding so much sugar and sugaring the F out of the panchan. This is not how it should be. Old Korean grandmas are literally turning in their graves with this sacrilege. Maybe panchan sales are falling, but you can be damn sure I will never buy this again with the amount of sugar you guys add. Like why? Why 50% sugar... seriously, this panchan candy bar nonsense makes no sense! #2. What happened to organic natto? Like bruh. You only had 1 brand left that was organic. Sure I could go to Nijiya and have a choice of 2, but I'm disappointed you guys stopped carrying the only organic natto you had.

I dropped by for my usual mushroom run and decided to peruse the aisles. I was excited to see that they now have a "Vegan Vegetable Mandu" offering in the hot food section. I had to grab both options to test them out : Unlimeat Kimchi Mandoo and Unlimeat Vegetable Mandoo. Each package has 8 pieces and a packet of shoyu. After trying both, the kimchi version won me over a bit more. The other option is lighter in flavor, and I'm a fan of bold and spicy food. Adding the shoyu helps, but I could easily eat all the kimchi ones alone. I'm not sure I'd get them often, but I like having an option in the grab and go section for when I'm short on time and hungry. They also added some Pulmone vegan-friendly microwave dumplings to the frozen section, so I got those too. I noticed some plant-based bulgogi kimbap in the frozen section, but I decided to skip them because I'm iffy about the textures of frozen kimbap. I love when grocery stores have vegan-friendly options! I hope this means they'll start adding more vegan-friendly options in the grab and go hot food section. A tofu and veggie rice bowl would be nice!

There was even a paan counter, with a ton of interesting pan varieties like chocolate pan. Bakery counter had a lot of interesting desserts and cakes. The food counter was the highlight of the store. I found a lot of people were there just to have lunch. Food was reasonably priced and was of good quality. Lunch combo was just $12 and comes with 2 or 3 sides, rice and 2 rotis. That was more than sufficient for one person as a heavy meal. Eggplant curry, paneer curry and malai kofta were my sides. All were excellent. Malai kofta was the less spicy and rich gravy which even kids will love. Samosa chaat was my other item. It was flavorful, came in good quantity and was reasonably priced. Mango Lassi was good as well. That was $4. They also have complimentary free masala tea. Tea was of excellent quality, I also took out potato puffs and bread pakora. Both were flavorfull. I didn't realize bread pakora had good fillings, which was a pleasant surprise. As for grocery items, the place was heavily north indian focussed. For south Indian items, it is better to go to other grocery stores near by. There was a pani puri stand in front of the store which will open around 1 - 1:30 pm. I will probably try some pani puri next time.

I've often come to this plaza for Felipe's next door. I heard of Apni Mandi from KQED's Luke Tsai's reviews of it. The special draw is Apni Mandi is open 24/7 which is a huge plus if you need something any time, stores in the Bay close pretty early. I walked in and immediately spotted the hot foods counter. After briefly looking at the menu, I of course had to get the lunch combo. Praised for its cheap price and good food. I wish there were labels for the offerings but I asked the server for her recommendations. I settled on the cauliflower and the daal. Both were super good and flavorful. Onion salad was refreshing. Came with rice and two rotis! Pretty good portion size for the price you pay. I ate half and am saving the other half for leftovers. I took it to-go so the worker wrapped my order in saran wrap. I didn't take a look at the grocery store part of Apni Mandi but seemed pretty busy on a Sunday morning!

Tina's Kusina is AMAZING!…read more Tina is truly one of the best caterers we've worked with. Her customer service is exceptional--she's incredibly responsive, communicative, fast, and so flexible with our requests. She always makes the ordering process easy and stress-free, which is especially appreciated when coordinating food for a large office. And the food is absolutely delicious! Everything we've ordered has been fresh and always a hit with our team. You can tell there's a lot of care that goes into the food and service. Highly recommend Tina's Kusina for catering. We order from them regularly and they never disappoint.

Booking was super easy, and communication was great -- quick responses, clear updates, and very helpful suggestions about portion sizes (which made planning so much easier). The owner was friendly and accommodating, even offering to make dishes that weren't listed on the menu. The food itself was amazing. We ordered a variety of Filipino dishes, and everyone kept asking who made the food because it was so good. You can really tell it's cooked with care and authentic flavor. She even delivered the food herself, which shows how much pride she takes in her work. They have a great selection of Filipino favorites but also offers other cuisines, so there's something for everyone. I'd definitely recommend them for any gathering -- we'll be ordering again for sure!

The space feels super cozy and service was friendly. They even mentioned their Burnt Almond Cake has always been their bestseller. First bite tasted heavenly. This had more stronger almond and Italian rum flavor and I was pleasantly surprised by the sugared almond slivers coating. The custard was absolutely generous, creamy, and divine. I'd say Peter's Bakery is more traditional, but more fluffier while Sugar Butter Flour has a more modern twist and is slightly sweeter. Their version definitely has more custard, which I personally enjoy... but this may be too sweet for the older Asian parents family. I'd love to come back to try their cookies and other pastries next time. Their Burnt Almond Cake is to die for and would love to buy another one when I'm in the area. Look at the picture. The dome of the cake was never leveled and no attempt made to level the layers with custard so I'm paying for a cake that I could've made with premade cake mix and 5% custard? We called in and the worker confirmed there are supposed to be two layers of custard in the Burnt Almond and advised me to email the owner so they could make it right. Look at the next photo. How do you as an owner - instead of simply admitting this was a rushed, dry, and unleveled cake - tell me in one message that the recipe changed because other customers had been complaining about too much custard but that you would be returning back to the original recipe? What am I, 5 years old? Just own up and say someone messed up and you'll keep the quality of your products up - but I guess that's hard to do when you ignore your long timecustomers and already got $70 for a cake that's 95% bread. I mentioned to the owner that their worker stated there would be some closure/resolve to which the owner just stopped responding. Guess when you can't be honest with your customers you...ignore them?
