Ginger's Cafe is one of my favorite places to go. The sandwiches are some of the best to grace the inside of my mouth, the smoothies are always delicious and creamy in a way I can't replicate at home, and there's always fun stuff to look at. The only thing I don't get about the reviews is the consensus that this is a $ place. It's definitely $$. I don't leave without dropping $15 or more. What a cute place right off Main Street, a local gem for vegetarian/vegan delights. The ginger cookie is amazing. Probably shouldn't have said that...Fresh food with quality ingredients. Favorite place to eat for lunch hands down, full stop. I eat here like once a week, at least. The menu is fresh and vegan friendly and honey, they know how to prepare vegetables. Everything I have had just tasty and I've eaten most of the menu. Their wraps, soups sandwiches, salads are balanced and healthy. There is fresh juices, smoothies and bowls too. You feel good about eating it and after you leave, I swear it's like you are... nourished. The owners or management is always on hand and friendly and the rest of the staff is nice. Most of the time my food is as advertised, however, I need to start checking my take out orders before leaving as occasionally they forget things such as a fork or napkin. I patronize Gingers less often now that they switched from tender flavorful homemade falafel balls to the nasty packaged ones. I had seen this restaurant while browsing yelp and had always wanted to give it a go, especially since my sister is vegan and they have a lot of vegan options. But after my teacher gave going here an opportunity for extra credit, there was no question that I needed to go....and I was not disappointed! The first time I came here (by myself) I chose the "half and half" option and had the grilled veggie sandwich and the southwest salad. The sandwich was packed to the brim with veggies and was super flavorful. The salad was good too, but to be honest nothing particularly special about it. The real winner here is their breakfast. I was legitimately blown away. I got the vegan breakfast burrito and avocado toast to share with my sister. Was expected a basic avocado toast but it was SO flavorful???? Make sure you get both sauces in the breakfast burrito because that made it perfection. This is gonna be my go-to breakfast place in the Provo(ish) area now. Most delicious turkey sandwich I've had in a long time. The southwest salad was good as well, but it was something I could easily make myself so it didn't appeal to me as much. The raw tacos were yummy too, lots of flavor and spice. The taco seasoning was strong in the meat. This restaurant also has a health store off to the side which was cool to browse through. I love Ginger's. Everything has a lot of flavor and everything is incredibly fresh. I love how there are options for all the different health-concious cultures; vegan, vegetarian, raw, clean, organic. We've loved everything we've ordered and we feel so clean afterwards. This is the best healthy-focused little cafe that I've been to. I love the atmosphere, too; lots of character in an old building. Try the Falafel Salad, the raw soups, the Grilled Portobello, any sandwich, the smoothies, and their fresh lemonades. read more

It's been a while since I went to Ginger's (my memory is a little fuzzy, but I feel it's my duty to "give back" :P ). I ordered "Half and half," so half Ginger's Garden salad and half Veggie sandwich for me. The food was good, though not mouth watering or anything. We also ordered the Emerald Orchard smoothie, which was pretty good. A friend ordered some nachos and a pita pizza. All my bites tasted good, and I think everyone else shared my experience. Ginger's does cost more. Our order, the half and half, smoothie and my partner's falafel sandwich with added chicken came out to just over $26. While the portions are smaller, I figure the food is higher quality, smaller portions are healthier and places like these (in Utah, at least) are few and far between. Only a minority of establishments offer a range of vegan, vegetarian and omnivorous fare - and when you often dine with an avowed carni-omnivore, it counts! The service was a-ok. They were friendly taking our order and brought the food to our table. Granted, it's an order at the counter restaurant, so they didn't do much else. The water is free, straight from the cooler, self served. I'm not often in Springville, or the county for that matter, so it's not an easy option, but if it was convenient I would return (I wouldn't make the trip JUST for Ginger's). read more

The restaurant is located on the ground floor of a natural health school. If I had more time I'd take a graduate degree there. It's more like a sandwich shop than a restaurant. The shop is airy and sports a full wall of nutrition/diet/cookbooks in addition to a few aisles of food. I could lose myself here for an entire afternoon. What I really needed from the store was Silk Creamer for my coffee but they only had 2 kinds of soy milk. Alas. I figured a quick snack of nachos and half a Grilled Veggie Sandwichwith a BBQ burger would suffice for the next 7 - 8 hours and give me a sampling of their offerings. This was our wrapped "to go" order, unwrapped for the picture taking, (on the iPhone because apparently when I go on a quest for food sometimes I can't remember to take both the car keys AND the camera). At 2:30 our passengers, (who showed up a half hour early), discovered they left a bag in the hotel and we had at least another hour of sitting around. The nachos didn't have a chance. Nachos $6.99 Blue corn tortilla chips smothered in vegan nacho cheese, black beans, red peppers, green peppers, tomatoes, red onions, avocados and topped with our sour supreme. The half sandwich had delicious roast veggies and the bread was a hearty grain bread. What could be bad with vegenaise and balsamic? Sitting in the cockpit it was a bit unwieldy as the bread was thick and the veggies were squishing out so this sandwich was eaten with a knife and fork. Grilled Veggie $7.99 Half $5.99 Lettuce, tomato, avocado, mustard and paprika with mushrooms, zucchini and onion on foccacia bread with vegenaise and balsamic I had never had a Sunshine burger before and I'm going to have to pick up a package of them and try them out correctly. This was a great sandwich, (I'm not really sure those two words go together), but it was also a bit cumbersome. The whole grain bun was soft and chewy and there were a lot of toppings so I'm not even sure exactly what the burger tasted like. BBQ sauce is a fantastic masker of flavors and this did have a good BBQ taste, sweet though, no real kick at all. It was definitely a satisfying meal at 41,000 feet. I noted the vegenaise and balsamic flavor so this might have been a mistake in toppings but there was no lack of flavor. BBQ Burger $7.99 Sunshine patty topped with sauteed onions and green peppers Here's the bone to pick though. As nice as he was, the young man behind the register said everything was vegan except the meat. OK, I can buy that by definition. I asked what they made inhouse and it was really nothing. No seitan, or tempeh dishes. OK, it's a little cafe. But ... when I asked about the spicy chicken patty sandwich he said it was Quorn. He sort of mispronounced it as corn but spelled it and the lightbulb seemed to go off in his head at the same time I said, "so it's not really vegan, is it?" If people who work in health food stores can't nail something that isn't vegan immediately, how can I ever expect my waitress in any ANY mainstream restaurant to know what I'm talking about and to recognize something cooked in butter or with chicken stock as being something that I don't want??? yes yes yes I could and would eat here every day. they have tons of healthy options. we both got the pick 2 thing. bae got the hummus sandwich and apple beet salad. he LOVED them. didn't even share a bite and we share Everything!!!!! lol this place is so good and healthy you feel good eating it. yummmm I had spicy chicken salad-- sooooo good. My wife is a vegan and enjoys eating here. The food always comes out fresh. I've tried everything from soups to salads. The ranch salad dressing is by far my favorite. The store is always kept clean and the workers are professional and clean. There is plenty of seating. I probably wouldn't take a large group here during normal eating hours. Most of the seats are tables for 4 people. I'm guessing you could fit around 20 people inside. Price wise you can expect to spend around $10. read more

SO GOOOOOD!!! Came for breakfast and got the vegan breakfast burrito. The tofu was seasoned great and the vegan sausage was really good too. They have lots of options for food with mostly vegan dishes and some stuff wth chicken or turkey for the meat eaters. The decor is awesome and good music was playing so it felt like home inside. With all the high reviews, we were so excited to try the food here. It was just mediocre. My bf hated the BBQ burger. Tasted strongly of curry?? My grilled veggie sandwich lacked flavor but was okay. My daughter liked her spicy vegan burger but it looked like a boca burger on a bun so no real creativity on that one. We were charged for GF bread even though we didn't request it. The food is overpriced for what it is. The atmosphere needs improving. It smells strongly of essential oils which is great when I'm in yoga class but not in a cafe waiting for my lunch. This is a health food joint in Springville. They mostly sell supplements, etc, but they offer food, made to order. I have only one thing I order, and it is very good. I make a point of going there whenever I am through Springville. I get the Turkey Avocado sandwich. The veginaise is better than mayo, and the fake bacon is tasty on it's own merits. I am NOT a health food kinda guy, but I do like the way this meal doesn't make me feel bloated and nauseous like some fried food options I might otherwise choose. read more
