How surprising to get amazing BBQ in a seaside town!! In an area with seafood aplenty, it's nice to have a little something different! The brisket was yummy and tender, the ribs were delicious and the beans with brisket were out of this world :P the only qualm I had was the coleslaw wasn't as flavorful as I like it to be, so I'll just skip that next time. :) The outdoor patio was nice to eat on and the service was great! I've been wanting to check out this cafe for a while now and today was the day. I liked that we could order at the window. This is not a vegetarian friendly place- nachos seem to be the only option. The prices are fair and the portions generous. It was a gorgeous day so we took in the sun and dined on their patio with a view. My son had the brisket sandwich- plenty of meat on it and he said it was tasty. I had the fish tacos- they were full with a lot of fish although the fish was a bit dry. I ordered a mimosa and let me tell you it could have been shared with two other people. I do not day drink much so ended up asking my son to drive us home. We love the clam/scallop chowder here so we wanted our guests to try it too. We stopped by at the perfect time on a Saturday afternoon. The large table inside was available, so all six of us were able to sit together. We enjoyed their lovely chowder, crab sandwich, fish tacos and I can't say enough about the local Bodega Bay Cookie Company cookies they sell. We ordered the chowder online to ensure they had it available for our party (they do sell out.) If the weather is nice, you can grab a table outside and enjoy the peaceful view. Came to bodega bay and camped overnight and then went clamming at low tide. We were hungry after an early morning and needed to grab a quick bite as we made our way back to South Bay to process all the clams we got. You order at the counter and then wait for the food to come out. They have plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor. Brisket breakfast burrito 5/5 - the star of the show. Not only is the burrito gigantic, the brisket is actually really tender as well. I don't think the burritos here get enough love but I would highly recommend it but make sure to come hungry!! Monkey bread - 4/5 - really large piece of monkey break for $8 and they heat it up for you which is nice. We stopped by for lunch on Sunday due to misleading reviews. We ordered at the register their crab and scallops clam chowder, 1/2 slap of their "award winning bbq ribs" , and crab toast sandwich, beer, and coke , came out close to $100. Their tips screen lowest percentage was 18% for everything self served! I selected 18%, thinking the food would be good then that'd be okay. Turned out it was not at all good. For service, the lady at the register was sitting on a stool and was not at all friendly. I didn't see any smiles from her. For food , Chowder was thick and I didn't taste much of the clams and it had specs of carrot. Sandwich was grilled in tons of butter and loaded with melted cheese with some crab meat. Then their self proclaimed award winning bbq ribs were not edible, tasteless, and was heavily seasoned with paprika. The best thing here was the two outside side table with the orange umbrella that had good views. They gave me one bbq sauce too when I gave 18% tip. I had the best crab sandwich and clam chowder at Spud Point the following day to make up for the bad experience I had here! read more

Well, I must say, Ginocchio's kitchen has a great great location! My wife and I went in on a Saturday afternoon about an hour before closing. We were greeted right away and we placed our order. My wife ordered the crab sandwich which was quite expensive at $28 and I ordered the fish tacos. We initially went for the clam chowder, but decided to order something different. The crab sandwich was very good, but could've been better if the bread wasn't toasted so much on the outside. The fish tacos were a bit dry but had plenty of fish. I'm always in search for fish tacos as good as the ones at Zazzle's in Petaluma! Unfortunately, they closed a while back and I haven't found fish tacos as good since! Ginochio's wasn't open for the first few days of our stay, but we took took full advantage when it did open! The beef brisket was fabulous and we couldn't get enough of the clam and scallops chowder! We had breakfast the day we left and you can't miss the Monkey Bread with caramelized bacon! It was a rainy new year, so we couldn't really sit on the patio (we have a couple of largish dogs) so we ordered online and ate at our Vrbo. That process was super easy and the people behind the counter went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed. In fact, super kudos to the really nice vibe from the people and the place. The brisket nachos were the recommendation so naturally we did not order It's a cute restaurant located at the base of the fishing port. Lots of parking and outdoor restrooms. They have both indoor and outdoor seating but if sit near the window it's the perfect sun spot if there's any humans/cats. They have local beer and they're known for their bacon monkey bread. Still haven't tried that either. The winning ticket here is the clam and scallop chowder. I would consider myself a self appropriated clam chowder connoisseur and this is the BEST chowder I've ever had in my life. They also have a wicked crab sandwich that is nestled between two buttery pieces of toast. The owner is amazing. So kind and she has the best recommendations. The Brisket sandwich was full of flavor, we halved it...We also had fish tacos, the taco had so much fish..fresh not battered..they were good. Finally we shared their Clam/Scalloped Chowder..I have never liked Scallops! The soup was creamy, tasty, and lots of clams, and scallops.. It was really really good. Extra for pickled jalapeños???...What !...That is standard for a nacho. Especially given the price ! The wife had the Piggy sandwich which also had blackened ( carbon) pork meat. Everything here is terrific. The owners and staff are awesome. Our favorite is their Clam chowder, Patty's recipe. Fresh everything, clams, dill, celery and tiny bay scallops. It's uniformly creamy, but not too thick or "cloying" - doesn't taste like it was thickened with flour or cornstarch or too many grainy potatoes. Fresh aftertaste. I love this little spot after traveling the coast going north or south. There's a front and back parking lot so there's always room and there's two restaurants side-by-side that share an open air outdoor seating area that is blocked by a windbreak wall with gorgeous views on a clear day. The tables can either have the umbrella closed or open and there's outdoor heaters available on the cooler days. We couldn't decide what we wanted, but after driving the coast all morning, we decided to share some Fish tacos, some nachos and a pulled pork sandwich. Hands-down, the best nachos we've had in sometime. The chips are crispy, the cheese has a nice crisp edges and is spread fairly evenly across all chips. they're actually quite good just vegetarian style, but you can have meat added or on the side as well. Unfortunately, we had just missed breakfast and that's what we were craving so make sure to pay attention to the hours if you're really hankering for breakfast. There's a shared restroom trailer as well between the restaurants. The restroom isn't always the cleanest or best organized, but it's functional. Two stalls for the ladies and not much room to wait inside on cooler months. Almost wish they would add another stall. We were staying at the nearby RV park when I had a craving for a breakfast burrito. Luckily, this restaurant is within walking distance. I ordered the bacon breakfast burrito and opted to add potatoes which were a dollar more. I also omitted the sour cream, just my preference. I thought the price of $16 for a breakfast burrito was a little steep but I will say there was a TON of minced up bacon and lots of cheese. It felt more like a bacon burrito with a few pieces of potato and scrambled eggs thrown in lol. So if you love bacon, this is the burrito for you. We had the clam chowder ("award winning") and the moo (brisket sandwich). Both were solid dishes. I recommend staking out a table and then come back in and order. The tables with the orange umbrellas are Ginochio's. Limited beverage selection but the ambiance and the food make up for it. You order and take your drinks and beeper, go sit down and enjoy the view and your company. When your food is ready they will beep you. They have a simple but excellent menu from pulled pork and ribs to fish tacos. We had the clam and scallops chowder and the crab sandwich. Fantastic! The sandwich was toasted to order. I've ordered toasted sandwiches that come soggy and limp but this was perfect with a delicious crab between the toasted sliced bread. The chowder will not disappoint. Flavorful and just the right texture served hot. A totally enjoyable trip to the coast. It's worth the trip just for the lunch. read more

Shhhhh....don't tell anyone, this is a fantastic spot to get the absolutely BEST pork ribs you have ever had. Meaty, full of flavor, moist....and the sauce was spot on! We also had the coleslaw which was excellent as well. Wanted fries instead of beans, so we picked up the fries at the place next door, Gourmet Au Bay, GREAT fries (we still have to try out the rest of the menu). Make sure you call to check to see if they are open (due to weather in the area they can be closed on the days they are supposed to be open).
