Nice format of having all the condiments (including lettuce and onions and pretty much anything that doesn't need cooking) at the condiment station. That way you get just what you want. Also nice that you can get a can of beer or cider if you are in to that sort of thing. Nice easy place to fuel up before a nature walk. I like that it is on a street between the highway and the bay. It's rare to find a local, non-chain that specializes in hot dogs. This place is a fun, very casual, local favorite and great if you are craving a great hot dog or burger. They have an excellent selection of classic and custom hot dogs, including a legit Chicago dog, plus hand-cut fries and burgers. Everything is made fresh and packed with flavor. The fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned, and the hot dog was honestly one of the best I have had. I only wish I could make them this good at home. Seating is available both inside and outside, and the vibe is very relaxed. It is super friendly, very local, and dog-friendly in the best way. Real dogs are welcome, not just the ones on the menu. They also have a good selection of beers, which pairs nicely with the food. Parking is easy and plentiful since it is right next to the local post office. Food is ok at best. The woman working the front was very friendly and helpful. Ordered bacon on my chicken sandwich and didn't receive it. I've been loving this place for almost two decades. Don't let the name fool you. They have burgers too and house specials like wings. Whatever you decide you'll be happy Fresh hand cut fries. All you can eat if you hang out at one of the outdoor tables. Be warned though, this place is so loved it's quite often packed on the weekends which is the only time they're open. Look, there are 5 types of restaurant seekers, and the crux is... sometimes 4 of the 5 are the same person: 1. If I'm happy, anything tastes good 2. If it's a hole-in-the-wall place hidden in the backside of a cute little tourist town, I'm gonna love it no matter what 3. I have no taste buds, and never met food that didn't taste good... I'm a nicey nicey, and I just won't write anything but 5-star reviews 5. ........and then the honorable: fair, consistent, accurate. So clearly, only 1-4's have visited. #5 came today. 1. Giant Vienna $9: It's a big hot dog, apparently steamed or boiled (not grilled), on a warmed bun. They ask you which toppings you want. Whatever you request is placed in the basket on the side, sauces in containers. So,... you know, basically they did the equivalent of microwaving that bun and dog for 'ya, and that's.... it. Years ago we discovered this place when we stopped for ice cream next door. We have been back many times and have yet to order a hot dog. That will have to be a future review. We are obsessed with their burgers. The 1/3 and 1/2 pound burgers come on on a soft sandwich bun (longer than wide). We order them with cheese and bacon. I add tomatoes and pickles while my wife adds onions. The fries are all you can eat; we're usually good with the initial pile. Parking can be a challenge since the local post office is literally next door. The dining is outside, which on a nice day is great. If it's foggy or cold you end up eating in your vehicle, which can get a little messy. We'll have to go back for the hot dogs. Maybe one day. read more

They also have corn dogs, brats, fries, shakes, bottled beers, chicken tender, steak sandwich, BLT, and burgers: turkey, garden, and salmon. They also have a kids menu. Just be aware the pricing is higher than inland fast food, but a bit cheaper than a sit down. But there are no fast food in this idyllic hamlet. This joint is located off the main road in a small business building next to the post office. The place has very limited indoor seating with mainly outdoor seating, very casual joint. You order and pay at the counter, they'll shout out your number for you to pickup. The building faces the bay, walk across the parking lot and enjoy the view while stuffing your face. The dogs/brats are Vienna brand. Great quality. The burger patties are shaped in oblong patties to fit the hot dogs buns. Cool. The order of fries are unlimited, but the catch is it will take awhile for your second+ fry ups especially during busy times. However, you do get a tiny batch of fries with your dog or burger. The dogs are usually grilled but they don't during busy times. But if you prefer them grilled, just ask them. Trust me, it taste way better grilled. The chili is meaty, yum chili cheese fries. The dog was delicious; hefty, meaty and juicy. Also they don't grill the buns, be it burger or dog. To me, if they did, it would elevate the taste a bit. But I have no complaints. Reviews from way in the past mention employees' cross contamination of raw beef with cheese, lots of touching with unwashed, ungloved hands, smoking outside, etc. We saw none of this during our two visits. The 1/3 lb hamburger was served on a gourmet hoagie bun - like Costco sells - and surely was more than 1/3 lb, cooked to our order and fabulous. Folks also complained that food was plain and needed condiments but all the stuff you want, including salt and pepper, are off to the side - help yourself. We returned to try the NY steak sammy and it was great, a high quality slab fully covering the hoagie roll (3"x8") and cooked to perfection for $16. The corn dog was only so-so. Fries were OK but hey they're fries not health food. Folks also complained about the price - have you eaten in Bodega Bay? $46 for a steak and no fries down the road. And you need a reservation.
