Very inconsistent. First (plain) slice I ate was up there with the best slices I've ever had. Second slice 30 minutes later was soggy crust, barely any sauce, lacked flavor. Next day, ordered a chicken parm hero. Bleh, never again....soggy bread, hardly any sauce (although I ordered extra sauce) and chicken was unworthy--flavorless and a bit rubbery. The most FIRE buffalo slice around!!! And by FIRE I mean amazing, not spicy hot fire. The slice has just the right amount of everything, all the time. The entrees are great as well but to perfect a buffalo slice, to me, is more worthy of being recognized for! Especially since it is a unique quality in most Italian restaurants. read more

Been here a few times and sometimes order for pick up and each time the food is amazing. Not only that, the customer service is always great (whether it's with a big group or small group, big takeout order or small) We usually order chicken parm, penne vodka, and of course pizza! The pizza is so friggin good can't ever go wrong with the pizza. Today we switched it up and ordered Veal Piccata and Rigatoni fiorentina and it was so delicious! Not to mention our waitress was sooo sweet, polite, personable and constantly checking in on us (I feel so bad I forgot her name) also the rest of the staff is always checking in to see how things are. You can really appreciate and tell the difference when someone loves their job compared to when they don't and you never felt a negative vibe from any of them from the hostess to the busboys. Also if COVID safety protocols and procedures are a major concern (as it is for lots of folks nowadays), they offer electronic menus to scan, they space the tables out significantly and have plastic partitions between the tables, so no doubt you definitely feel safe during your dining experience. read more

Gino's is hands down the best pizza in Long Beach!I highly suggest going for the full pie of one of the the secret menu items - the "great grandma" is just about the most perfect pizza there ever was : ) Their entrees for lunch and dinner also never fail. Went to Gino's for lunch and was reminded of the great food (besides pizza) that they serve. My wife and I had soup and a couple of appetizers for our meal. The soups were home made and very tasty ( a minestrone and a pasta fagioli). We had mussels marinara and their signature dish, clams posillipo. Portions were generous and there was a steady supply of bread to dip in the rich sauces. We ordered takeout for a small dinner party and were very satisfied with the food! The salads that come the entrees are large! Big enough for two people to share which I was very impressed with! Nothing worse than a super small side salad. Plus, the dressing for the house salad was delicious! I had the grilled salmon. A little dry, but I guess that happens with takeout. Gino's is great, the only thing that I would say on a negative note is that sometimes their pizza is a little doughy, which I'm not too crazy about. We get it delivered most Friday nights when the kids are around...probably their busiest delivery night, so maybe that's why... I have never ate a slice of pizza that tastes so good. Everything from a regular slice, Sicilian, buffalo or bbq chicken is AMAZING. This staff knows how to make pizza and treat customers how they should and not like numbers. Rarely you will get a slice that has not just come out the oven especially during peak times (lunch/dinner). This will remain the top pizza spot for me and will continue to take the 20 minute drive just to get a slice of heaven. read more

The food here is terrific. One of their waiters (forgot his name) was rude and argumentative. Had a great meal there Friday night 6/23 everything seemed great. When the check came my mother in law jokingly said to the waiter "I'll take the check my son in law is not chauvinist" with that the waiter got very upset and went into a tirade directed at an 80 year old woman. He went on about how he watched his mother get beat up by his father his entire life. I don't know how what she said set him off but he was clearly very angry and rude. Made her very uncomfortable. Looks like we need to find a different go to Italian restaurant. To be honest the food is 5 stars but because of waiters like this guy it's just not worth it. read more

My favorite pizza place to go to. It's not too expensive and it's good for casual and formal outings. There buffalo chicken pizza taste amazing. They give a very large variety of food. It's my favorite pizza place in Long Beach. They are also quick with service and the staff knows what they're doing. It's a clean place and their isn't much more you can ask for when it comes to going out to eat. It's an Italian pizza place that specialize in desserts so their isn't a lot of options. I am a local and ordered main dish entrees to pick up. When I arrived there was a huge line out the door of people waiting to order pizza. I walked up to the register where I have always picked up orders in the past (30 years) and was told I had to wait on the same line that people were first ordering from. "one line, that's what the boss says". I could see my food packed up behind the counter. I am a local and used to eat here all year round. Another guy walked in and ordered a pie and they said cone back in 25 minutes. I asked if they were going to make him wait on that same line he just waited on again to pick up his food and they said yes. Nice customer service Gino's!! The absolutely best pizza I ever had. The crust is always perfect and not too soft or hard at the bottom, the sauce is to die for and just the right amount of cheese goodness. I've been going to Gino's for over 30 years and I haven't come across anything better in NY (Brooklyn, Queens and other places I've lived in LI). I have since moved from LB but I always go there and get a slice (or pie), stuffed pizza or garlic knots when I'm in town. Recently I see the've gotten a little more upscale and deliver now and I think the owner passed away a couple of years ago. Nonetheless, the pizza still taste spectacular. Gino's is THE BEST!!! From the fast pizza to go or eat in section on the right side, to the fabulous restaurant on the left side. The dining room is beautifully decorated, clean and spacious. The special house salad was fantastic, fresh and tasty. Veal marsala with mushrooms, lite on the sauce was a dream. The bowl of minestrone soup that comes with the entree was a meal in itself. My wife and I asked if the pasta pieces can be eliminated and this was accommodated without hesitation by the manager, Brian who actually was our server. Brian was so knowledgeable about the restaurants history, family structure, detailed recipe like dish descriptions AND MOST OFF HAD A DEEP PASSION FOR HIS MANAGEMENT ROLE AT GINO'S. Thus is a special attribute for staff members to posses for optimum outcome for everybody's dining experience. My wife's entree was filet of sole oreganata and was out of this world delicious. OMG, if we weren't super-health conscious there are so many other great dishes on the menu. They go the extra mile to accommodate and turned our experience into a special one. A simple thing like disposable dinnerware holders to assure sterility and hygiene is just one example of their effort and desire to heighten the quality in both presentation and service been going here for over 25 years and look forward to the next 25!!!! Our son and his girlfriend who live in Tribeca, NY love getting off the train and live meeting us across the street for one of all of our favorites meals. I just placed an order, which took an hour. When I went to pick it up one of the Gino's workers, named Herbert was very rude to me when I asked a question, where to pick up my order. I asked if it was going to take another hour to get my order and his response was, yes probably. I think you need to teach your employees that they need to respect customers. The portions were large and satisfying, but make sure you have plenty of time as the waitress was extremely inattentive - water glasses take forever to get refilled and a wait of more than 20 minutes for the check was beyond excessive.
