2025 is the year I go and try as many pizza and wing places as possible. I have heard great things about Gino's and how it's close to a NY slice. I had to check it out and see if it lived up to the hype. We ordered it to go and it was still warm and perfect when we got home. Service was quick and on time. As a Buffalonian, we have strong opinions on pizza. That's no secret. I think sometimes we are a little too harsh on things that aren't Buffalo style. I am not a huge fan of NYC itself, but the food in NYC is some of the best. Gino's captures the essence of a NY style slice. The crust is thin, but cooked to a nice golden brown. Perfect for that fold and bite technique. The cheese and pepperoni are piled on with just a little bit of sauce. Overall this is a really good pizza. I also have the next day cold pizza test. If it's still good the next day out of the fridge, you know it's a quality pie. Happy to say it was still good and I even threw a slice in the air fryer for a bit and it was good as new. This spot definitely makes my list of go-to pizza places in Buffalo. I will definitely be back to try the wings and get another pie! read more

The pizza leaned more Sbarro than Soho: doughy crust, thick cheese, and not that fresh-from-the-oven feel I was craving. That said, the fries were hot, crisp, and delightful, and the staff's friendliness truly stood out. 10/2023 Ordered through Uber eats. I accidentally posted this review under a different Gino's Pizza, and finally was notified it was the wrong place, so now I'm posting it under the correct one! Sorry I couldn't find the photos again to go with it. Stuffed shells 8/10 Comes with 4 shells. Pretty good. There's a TON of mozzarella cheese on there. Sauce is a little lightly coated on the shells, I could use a tiny bit more. The sauce flavor is a pretty traditional robust red sauce. The shells themselves were mostly cooked perfectly, I just had a bite or two that were a little too hard. The cheese was mostly ricotta flavored, nothing super fantastic. Stayed together when you cut into the shell pretty well, a good bite. Garlic knots 7/10 Very dense bread, but soft. They have a decent amount of fresh garlic on them, but they somehow need more garlic or more butter or something. I would order and eat all of this food again and would love to try more menu items. read more

We all decided a pizza for dinner was a good plan. We were only a few minutes away from Gino's. They are located in a large mall. Gino's is a small place and not very conducive to dining in for 4 people. One or two people would be fine. We decided on a New York style large spinach and mushroom pizza. That's a thin crust pizza. Our pie was made fresh and they told us 15-20 minutes. There are three sizes to choose from; medium, large and extra large. The large is sufficient to feed 3 males and 1 female unless you are starving. They were on time making and boxing the pizza. Note that if you use a credit card, a 4% charge is tacked onto the bill. Staff were nice and make a good smelling pizza. Once home we unboxed the pizza. The pizza was very tasty, ingredients fresh with a thin crust. It all disappeared and was liked by all. First time trying. Came before going to movies across the parking lot. Figured I'd decide whether to get a whole pie or just slices depending on what slices they had available. Got two slices of Buffalo chicken in a creamy sauce on somewhat thicker dough and two slices of plain cheese on thin NYC style crust. Both were excellent. In an effort to broaden my horizons when it comes to finding new places to eat in Buffalo, my roommate recommended Gino's NY Pizza to me. I love Buffalo style pizza but variety is the spice of life! I haven't met many thinner crusted pizzas that I did not enjoy. I settled on getting the large 16" white pizza from Gino's seeing as the temperatures are getting warmer and the sun is out for longer; a pizza that's filling but doesn't sit like a rock in your stomach. Overall, I'm very happy with this pizza! One cannot begin a pizza review without talking about the structural backbone of the whole dish: the crust. Perfectly cooked, great leoparding (spotting) on the bottom and edges, and the right balance of sweet and savory. The gluten structure is on point! On top of this perfect crust is a layer of ricotta cheese which takes the place of a traditional red sauce. On top of the ricotta is a layered heaven of garlic, mozzarella, and whole slices of tomatoes. Tomato slices on pizza is an underrated topping and I'm mad that more people don't put them on pizza. The online ordering process from Gino's was really painless. I ordered ahead for a later pick up time and when the pizza got home it was still piping hot! A hard thing to do but they seem to have mastered this tall order. I was worried that the pizza itself, being a white pizza, was going to be extremely oily but it was not at all. The crush held up like a champ and, this may be an unpopular opinion, it tasted better cold seeing as the toppings had had a few hours to get to know one another better. Overall, this is a great pizza spot and they will definitely be going onto my list of favorite places! read more

Gino's gives us a taste of Buffalo from 50 years ago. Back then, at every local shop you can buy a room temperature Old World Pizza that just had sauce and Parmesan cheese. If your craving that, Gino's has it and is one of the best in Western NY. The other pizza I love here is the Sicilian, similar to prep of old World but with Mozzarella. I think we've had 5 NY style pizzas in the area... and so far this is the best. Cheese and sauce are the standouts. Dough was a little chewier than I prefer. Online ordering process is terrific. We ordered a large taco pizza and some sweet red chili wings through Grubhub for dinner. I've had taco pizza before, but never from Gino's, and I wasn't sure what to expect, but we were in the mood for a little food adventure. When the pizza came, we were glad to have given Gino's taco pizza a shot. The pizza has the usual ground beef with taco seasoning and melty shredded cheddar, of course, but it also includes fresh shredded lettuce, fresh tomato chunks, and sour cream, exactly like what you'd expect in a taco. The pizza crust is crispy with just the right amount of thickness to hold the generous toppings. It's like eating a taco bowl in the form of a pizza. Definitely the best taco pizza we've ever had! The wings are also delicious, plump and crispy, with the sauce having the right balance of sweet and spicy. The mvp of dinner is definitely that taco pizza though. I wish I had remembered to take a picture before finishing my slice. We will definitely be ordering from Gino's again. read more

I ordered from here for the first time tonight & was very satisfied. My son & I ordered Chicken Fingers with Gino's Secret Sauce & he said they were good. Their fries were okay. I ordered a Stromboli which consisted of : Green peppers, Ham,Pepperoni & Mozzarella Cheese. Soooo delicious !!! Everything was well worth the money & very filling. My first time trying Gino's. My late uncles name is Gino and we all know he loved pizza, too. I love NY style pizza, and the slice of cheese I tried was really good! It's definitely comparable to pizza I've had in Brooklyn, NY when I lived there. One of my best friends told me if there's a pizza place he wants to eat every day and willing to spend $30 on toppings for only one slice of pizza, Gino's is the place. I ordered a personal 9 inches pizza with pepperoni (My favorite) and the pizza was made perfectly. It is way above the average of American pizza I used to have and I can tell why my friend said this is his favorite NY style pizza in Buffalo! As a NYC native now living in Buffalo, I feel it's my duty to try Buffalo pizzerias claiming that they serve NYC-style pizza. This Gino's is also close to where I work, so I really had no excuse not to come here. On different occasions, I've tried the cheese and veggie slices. They were all right, but I don't think they would convert people who prefer a different style of pizza, like Buffalo-style. The cheese pizza was greasy, but the crust was a good approximation of the NYC thin-but-not-too-thin crust. The veggie pizza on a separate visit wasn't overly greasy, and had a generous amount of vegetable, but was a little bland and the crust was a little too crispy. Would I come out of my way to eat at this Gino's? No. Will I come back since I can walk here from my office? Probably. The garlic knots have always looked tempting, so I'll try them on a future visit. read more

Stopped in on a whim to grab a large pie for dinner. I'm not sure if this is the same Gino's of the Gino & Joe's in the Main Place Mall downtown. It seems everyone's under the impression that it is with the NY style both places offer. What I can tell you is I've had G&J's downtown plenty of times (delicious and truly NY style!), and the pie I got today is not the same... or even close to G&J's. The pizza was super greasy, and I think the biggest problem is the sauce. It's too salty and taste more like a jar of pasta sauce. I ordered 1/2 plain and 1/2 pepperoni. The pepperoni was okay (greasiest), and the plain was not that great - a big glob of cheese that didn't melt entirely and falls off the crust with one bite. I'm pretty disappointed and regret I didn't order from Wegmans instead. Even though they are not authentic NY style either at least the pizza tasted better. I don't think I'll be getting pizza here again but if you do the restaurant offers ample seating and has two flat screens. The location is great for UB students as it's directly across from S.Campus. read more

Ordered some take-out today: 4 garlic knots, 10 medium wings, & 1 half Hawaiian & half pepperoni large pizza. It only took 20 mins, the lady was very nice, & the food was delicious! Finally! I've found a decent NY pizza place in Buffalo! Excellent, flavorful thin crust, right amount of sauce and cheese. Great wings! The best I've had in years! I way overpaid for DoorDash to deliver, but I was so happy about the food, that the $55 it cost for a large cheese pizza with 10 hot wings to be delivered, was almost acceptable. I have since discovered that their normal delivery service is much less costly, but the focus here is on the food, which I have co complaints about. I'm not a fan of Buffalo style pizza, and I've tried dozens of places hoping to find a decent NYC style pizza, and at long last, I finally found Ginos. This is the place! My favorite pizza in Buffalo area will remain to be Jays Artisan in Kenmore, which is in a completely different league, but it's just too far of a drive for takeout unless I feel like an hour round trip to pick up. Carried out a slice of pepperoni, a slice of buffalo chicken, and a sausage roll on a Friday night when the wife and I were being indecisive and ultimately settled on something nearby. Neither of us particularly love NY style pizza, but I was rather underwhelmed even by NY style standards. The pepperoni slice was blah and although the buff chicken was better, it was insanely greasy and the payoff wasn't worth the calories. There was a good amount of chicken, but the bleu cheese left a lot to be desired. The sausage roll was probably my favorite, though still not good enough to compete with the upper echelon of Buffalo pizzerias. Having said all that, the selection was extremely impressive, as there were probably about a dozen different pizza slices available. For this reason I can't say that I won't return if I want to grab a quick and satisfactory, if unspectacular, meal. read more

But here in the University Plaza, ok. I'd go a little father for Chucks or LoveJoy. Waking in the layout is the same as the former pizza place that occupied the space. I never really thought about checking this place out even though I go next door to UPS very often. I thought this would be the typical thick, doughy Buffalo pizza. But, I was quite surprise when I walked in and saw that it was actual NYC style pizza! I thought the only place that sold NYC style was Zetti's up near North campus. I got a plain slice and an order of garlic knots. It was delicious and comparable to what I've had in the city. However, the garlic knots were not as garlic-y as I expected and was somewhat bland. They did come with a lot of marinara sauce, which was surprising. But, I don't particularly love marinara so it was such a waste to dump out the 95% that I didn't use. read more
