I don't know if it was just busy, or different people. We seemed to have gotten someone else's order, we discovered when we opened everything when we got home. We called, and they guy on the phone spoke broken English, couldn't understand what we were saying. We were not going to pack up everything and drive 20 minutes, then wait another 1/2 hour for them to correct it. We ate the squashed rice balls, and the whole wheat pasta drowned in vodka sauce. read more

Best Party Food! This review is much deserved and long overdue.  We have catered MANY parties from GINOS of NESCONSET over 10+ years years and every time our family and guests rave about the food.  From appetizers like rice balls (my Aunt Mary from Queens loves them) and Buffalo spring rolls (my fav) to the salads, pizza, pasta, heros and entrees your family and friends will be thrilled with the delicious food and very, very full, lol.  SO MUCH FOOD!  And the prices are great$$!  We had over 80 people, got the large package so it worked out to like $9/person.  You can't get a crappy fast food meal for that low a price these days. Our family can seriously eat and we had more than enough for the party, the AFTER party (iykyk) and leftovers today so we didn't have to cook, just sit on the couch and recover, lol! This doesn't mean there aren't other amazing places to get food.  There are!  It's just reminding people who live in Nesconset,  Smithtown,  Ronkonkoma that this small family business is right in their backyard making kick-ass food for your epic party. When considering the worst pizzeria around, Gino's in Nesconset comes to mind. On one occasion, I ordered a chicken Caesar wrap over the phone for pick-up. Any ordinary person ordering this would expect a standard chicken Caesar wrap. However, that wasn't the case here. What I got was a hot slice of pizza rolled up with three pieces of chicken, Caesar dressing, and cooked lettuce. Typically I wouldn't care about a mix up, but because of how ridiculous this was, I decided to call up and ask if they would exchange it for what I originally ordered. Upon returning it, the entire staff decided to wait at the front to insist that I was the one mistaken about what a chicken Caesar wrap entailed. Instead of just exchanging the food and letting me leave, they felt the need to treat me as if I were a complete moron for even questioning what they gave me. They maintained that this was how it's made and told me that if I ever want to order that again I'd have to specifically say "I'd like a chicken Caesar wrap on a wrap". Seriously? I've even gone ahead and added a photo so you can see how absurd this interaction was for yourself. read more

The last three times we've ordered the customer service has been been horrible. 1st time i had asked pizza to deliver at a certain time it came an hour early. pizza was cold for the guest. second time we waited almost two hours. the third time we asked for pizza to get delivered at a certain time. after a half hour passed and no pizza .. they never had our order down. to say we can longer order from here is a disappointment. best white slices too. read more

Had the very unfortunate displeasure of getting pizza from Gino's today. First off the pizza looked very unappealing, like it was reheated numerous times before making it to my plate. We order from Ginos all the time. However, this time when we ordered 2 chicken vodka slices, it's very obvious that they just threw chicken with vodka sauce on top of a grandma slice. When I called to ask, they said this is what they do when you order a chicken vodka slice. So, the description is inaccurate. read more

This is by far my favorite pizza place in the area. I also love the ones in Commack and Kings Park. My go to is the personal pizza, to stay or to go. The cauliflower crust is the best and it's not easy to come across. I usually personalize the pizza and the staff there is more than accommodating when I ask for a million changes. The BEST thing on the menu is the chicken ala vodka. It's essentially chicken parm with vodka sauce instead of red sauce. The chicken is so tender. It's perfectly fried and dredged in the sauce, with melted cheese on top. I suggest getting it with penne on the side, with the vodka sauce. Last thing worth mentioning is their Groupon take out special! It's 49.99 and you get a full pizza, penne ala vodka, salad, chicken parm hero, bottle of wine AND a $10 gift card. Can't believe Gino's let me down. As I stated in my previous review, I've been coming here for years, and excepted all the mistakes they've made as any business would. The food is good, and I typically have no complaints there. The reason for this updated review is straight up a customer service/managerial complaint. Went in for sit down dinner with the family and asked about an expired Groupon I purchased a while ago and how I can apply it. Anyone knows that if you have an expired Groupon, it can be used at the establishment for the amount paid for which the amount paid never expires. Gino's refused to honor Groupons terms and policy, and told me that since the Groupon is expired, they can't honor it, even the amount paid. Terrible because this should be an easy one. I bet if Joe the owner was there, he'd do the right thing and this wouldn't have been an issue. I have been coming there for years, such a shame they couldn't rectify something simple. Never had a problem with Groupon, even it the Groupon has expired. I contacted Groupon, and they issued my Groupon bucks back to my account. They stated that Gino's should have honored the amount paid. *Joe, your restaurant is fantastic, usually never a problem. Yes, I did tell the server, who then in turn let the manager know. The server took my phone to look at the Groupon, but still told me I couldn't redeem it for the value paid. I was offered a discount on the bill, but unfortunately didn't cover the amount for the Groupon. I wish I could say there was miscommunication, or some oversight, but I did show your staff the terms and service, and all that I had paid for with the Groupon. Again, to anyone reading the reviews, Gino's is a great local pizza place, and I'll continue going there regardless. Please educate the staff. read more

I have only ever ordered take out, convenient for sure. I have tried their deep dish Sicilian, the pepperoni, the cheese pizza and their garlic know. It's good, not my favorite but good. I'm again annoyed and disappointed that I ordered from here. I'm eating burnt pizza AGAIN for what must be the last five times. I ordered a grandma pie as usual and it was so crispy that the cheese crunched. The taste was there in the sauce but the crust and cheese were ruined from being overcooked. The side crust was black as well as the bottom of the crust in several places. When I arrived to pick up the pizza I even saw them rotating my pizza for at least ten minutes, when it was clearly done already. When they first opened I was thrilled and told family members it the best pizza I've had in a long time. I get that a business can have a busy day or off day, but this has been consistent over the last 5 or so times I have purchased from here. Good pizza and hot dishes. They also offer really good packaged meal deals. I got the NFL package this weekend which was 1 regular pie, 2 hot heros of your choice and 18 wings. The wings were super meaty and the mild sauce was very flavorful. The blue cheese that came with it was perfect. Chicken parm heros were good and so was the pie. Definitely will be back. I was very disappointed with this pizza place on Saturday night 12/18. I know 6 pm - 7 pm is a busy hour to order takeout, but this place seems to get overwhelmed and their pizzas interestedly become overcooked. You would think that wouldn't happen if you are trying to move the pizzas along. I know that all businesses have trouble staffing these days, but restaurants need to remember that every time something goes out, it's like your calling card. The absolute worst pizza and stromboli I have ever had. Ordered delivery, when it got here it was cold. The pizza was wet and soggy and seemed under cooked. I heated it up but it made no difference. The tip of the pizza flopped down like a wet rag. The Stromboli was undercooked too. It seemed like they used cornmeal or something in the dough. I was told that Gino's is the best place for Pizza in this surrounding area. Boy was he right. When we first walked in we grabbed a takeout menu and start looking it over. We ordered a pie, half cheese and half pepperoni and we ordered a pie of Grandma's which was delicious. We had a buffalo chicken slice as well. And garlic knots. I must say to my liking the garlic knots was perfect. They wasn't crunchy at all. If you like hard and crunch garlic knots then you won't like these. When walking in it looks like a regular family style restaurant. I never visited the dining area so I can't rate that. We only order pizza so again unfortunately I can't rate the pasta dishes. In regards to pizza we was very satisfied and will return again. My goal is to try the whole menu by the end of the year. So I will be updating this review. read more

This used to be my go to place when I moved into the area 7 years ago. For the first 6 it was consistently good, but in the last year or so it has really gone down. The sauce is very inconsistent... sometimes bland, most times way too sweet, and WAY TOO MUCH! No matter what you order it's bathed in sauce. The portions have gone down and the prices have gone up. I get it, everyone is feeling the crunch. But, if your gonna raise you prices and reduce portions make sure it tastes good! And make sure it's WARM! I'm not that far yet all my orders take greater than 90 minutes and arrive cold. I'm so disappointed! The worst part is they have an item that my daughter loves that no one else has, so I have to keep ordering from here! C'mom Gino's... Get it together. read more

Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse here. They are allowing customers without masks in the restaurant to order. I ended up giving this place another shot out of local convenience. The food was good until one day they messed up my order. I called up and went back to exchange the order. Instead of the staff just apologizing and exchanging my meal, the staff had the audacity to fight with me and laugh in my face after exchanging my order. This place is a complete shit show! When I went to Gino's it was great. I went on a Monday for pasta night With my family. The ambience was great. I got pasta with a chicken parm hero. I catered food for my daughter's Sweet 16 on January 20, 2024 and the food was AMAZING !!!!!! Everything was just perfect ! The trays were nice and filled and it came very hot !
