The service in that place is awful and the food matches. The old lady with the dark hair that works the counter is rude, miserable, and has the worst customer service skills that I've experienced in a long time. Outright nasty. The food was awful too. Ordered salad slices, how do you mess that up?? Asked for NO dressing on the slices, wanted it on the side. Guess what I got?? Soggy old salad on my pizza covered in dressing. The best part is the they charged me for the worlds tiniest side cup of the dressing I wanted on the side too! I'll never go there again. read more

I've gotten a cheese pie from with garlic knots twice in the last 2 months. Both times the pizza was the most bland, flavorless food I've had in my life. The garlic knots were extremely doughy and undercooked and again barely a hint of any flavor - just soggy, oily lumps of dough. I was excited to try Rocco's after discovering it a few months ago while running errands but unfortunately we'll not be ordering here again. I thought the first time was an off night but the 2nd order confirmed it. To give you an idea of the quality of the pizza I was served - I've had better pizza at Sbarro's at a mall food court and even the buffet on a cruise ship! Save yourself the trouble and get pizza from one of the many nearby pizzerias instead. The food is very good (sometimes not consistent hence 4 not 5 stars). Wether we dine in or take out the staff is always friendly and helpful. We love the $40 dinner special! Excellent for days we can't cook. The place is nice , but could use a bit of a steam clean on the floors. The parts of the kitchen you can see look clean (which is important). Been going to Rocco's for about eight years. Never had an issue with them. Since Covid they have gone down the tubes. I don't want to hear the Covid excuse as most restaurants have recuperated by now. Plus we are talking about pizza. Ordered cheese calzone and sausage Parmesan here. Driving by, we wanted to grab something quick to eat and decided to stop in here. We walked into a crowded counter, so we were confident the food would be good. Half the store is for take out, the other half, eat in restaurant. The entire place presented at clean. We were seated and served a bread basket with our drink order. The bread was individual dinner rolls, and although fully cooked, very doughy. We each ordered a slice of pizza to start, regular for me, Grandma for my husband. My slice had a perfect crunch as I bit into it, nice cheese pull and not at all greasy. My husband's slice was also crunchy, and the fresh mozzarella also perfectly melted; he enjoyed it. I ordered fried calamari for an entree, and my husband ordered a veal parmagiana hero, which he requested well done. And it was well done!!! The bread, the veal, and the cheese, everything perfectly toasted, the way he enjoys it. He said the Veal was excellent. My calamari wasn't crispy, but it was flavorful, and the side of marinara was decent. It was a generous portion. Our server was a friendly woman, who kept our drinks full. No pasta with your chicken parmesan entree. Options are salad or pasta with your two slabs of chicken with cheese and sauce, at full cost of 21 dollars and change after tax. I could understand if it were chicken parm sub with extra side salad, and added pasta at that price. Not Italian if you serve this entree without some pasta. This is a half*** Italian version of this dish. I wound up cooking my own pasta and putting it in there, which is sad considering the cost of spaghetti, and the price I paid for this meal. What I got tasted good, but won't be going back there. I'll find somewhere else that knows how to cook and serve Italian dishes, without trying to cut costs by not including spaghetti with a chicken parm entree lol. read more

Love this place. We have been going here when it was under a previous owner and called "Paradiso". "Rocco's" has really added to the restaurant. Ever kind of pizza you can imagine and all are good. Just a note to all pizza restaurants... What's the deal with "Salad" pizza? I think someone just came up with this on a slow day and ran with it. Please Just Stop It. It takes away from Italian food/pizza. Back to Rocco's.. Along with pizza we've had their calzone which is excellent. Also they run a "Family Special" which is a tray of baked ziti, tray of Chicken Parm, Salad, and soda. Around $35. How do they do it. Maybe better not to ask, they may raise the price. Lastly, they have a section for sit down dining. Menu is not overboard but covers all the bases. Love this place and find ourselves being regulars here, and plan to continue. Hold up, wait a minute. I was already fabricating this review in my head as I was enjoying my slice of pizza. Ok, I may have even had two slices. I usually like to visit a place a few times in order to write a fair review, but sometimes you JUST KNOW. This is one of those times. Some of the things I still miss when I moved to Long Island from Bayside, Queens a few years ago -- great, highly seasoned and garlicky Americanized Chinese food and wonderful pizza. I know everyone has a different idea of what great pizza is, but here's my criteria: Thin crust, sauce that isn't bitter or that tastes like the jar (or can) it most likely came from, and a good sauce:cheese ratio -- I don't like over cheesed pizza globbed with sauce. Sure I've found good places out here -- places that are popular and lots of people recommend, but I haven't found "THE ONE". Well today I found what I consider a slice of heaven at Rocco's. I ordered an 18" Neapolitan pie for delivery. The delivery guy was very pleasant and he even closed the gate after himself when he entered and also after he left -- way to go delivery guy! I have 2 dogs that are little escape artists so if that gate is left open they can bolt and that's obviously not a good thing. I am looking forward to trying other things on their menu. I actually wanted to order a grandma pie, but I couldn't see spending $21.95, that seemed like a bit much. New to Port Jefferson and will never go to this establishment after the way I was treated. Around noon today to confirm foreign objects in my order, when was rudely hung up on. The day before I ordered a Buffalo chicken slice on my lunch break, didn't get around to eating it until later that night (or at least tried to). Once I bit into the tip of the slice was interrupted by a hard object. Thinking it was burnt crust was sadly mistaken it was a bone. Which leads me to the call the following day (they were closed after I got out of work). The first person probably couldn't hear me , hence her hanging up, but the manager has no right to treat a paying customer who calmly calling to complain. He seems agitated and not to interested in my call because before I can finish he says "yeah whatever we are in lunch hour very busy" before hanging up. So I call back again another female answers and says the manager is busy and can she help, I responded "well tried to tell your manager there was a bone in my pizza" she laughed and asked was I sure it was the right one and after my description she went to get him. He claims he wasn't there and they use boneless chicken in their pizza". I responded it was rude of him to not hear me out and pass my call up due to you being busy. . .his response " I don't know what you want me to do. . .wanna come in and get another slice" I know NY moves at a fast pace but for me to have a bone (probably not even chicken) nor do you know how it came to be in my pizza. . .your actions are unacceptable. read more

The last four times I have ordered food to go they have messed up. I make them read the order back each time and they still make mistakes.

Rocco's tasty food and cleanliness could not compensate for the extremely unfriendly demeanor of our waitress. With many other dining options from which to choose, we were unfortunately made to feel we should have chosen a different restaurant. Never will we order from here. Placed an order on slice. Waited over two hours for our delivery. Spoke to slice this said it's on its way. Spoke to Rocco's they first said order never made, then its their system was down. The order was never place and made! My order was 62.00. Now we have to wait another hour for food to be delivered. We have a young child home. And myself and my husband are hungry. We are all entitled to eat. Estimated delivery was 8pm. Well it's 930. Places order at 630. I don't recommend this place. They only wanted to give us 20% off. You never made the order and you only want to give us 12.00 off a 62 bill. Laughable. Do not order from this place. You will get screwed! read more

Great pizza. The wait staff was okay. Weird that a person does not know what a supreme pizza is when I requested that, but I guess that is normal for Long Island. Food was good, especially the whole wheat pizza. We shared the meatball appetizer, it comes with a 'scoop' of ricotta, but they let the cheese get too warm and it just melted into the sauce. I have been ordering the same order here for months. However, the last 3 out of 4 times I made an order, it was wrong. So when I called the other night to order, I advised them of this just to make sure it didn't happen again. When I went to pick it up, it was completely wrong. They gave me an attitude about fixing it and then tried to charge me more after I was already charged and explained to them this is now the 4th time this has happened. The girls behind the counter were rolling their eyes and whispering. They will never see me again. I have been to this place numerous times thinking it will be different or better the next time I go but nope, I was wrong. Firstly I just want to start off with the fact that there is a woman there named Tina whom I have seen multiple times and caught her name because she was our waitress one time and I have seen her yelling and screaming and being very unprofessional to the other workers and I am not sure how this woman is still not fired. It's an interesting business model they use. First time I went there 3 months ago they screw up my 3 pie order and this time they can't even manage to ring me up for my correct order.
