Ordered via Uber Eats, the penne w/vodka sauce was okay, a bit on the dry side and not enough sauce and the Grandma Pizza was good. I ordered the small size pizza but it was still pretty big for $23.95 - more than a reasonable price point for a Sicilian Pie. Nice to have an above average pizzeria in the neighborhood. Not sure if they're related to Gino's in Oakland Gardens where you can also get decent Italian food.

This review is for their 18 inch plain cheese pie only. I cannot comment on the ambience of this place or the service because we had a pizza delivered from here through a food delivery service and this is the first time eating food from this place. The pros: the pizza looked the part, appearing like a well executed New York style pizza. The size of the pizza was also great, looking even bigger than the advertised 18 inch pie. The cornicione, or crust edge. Was not too wide or prominent, and the pizza was sauced all the way to the edge, which is what I prefer. Cheese sauce ratio also looked on point The cons: unfortunately, the pizza taste and texture did not nearly match the appearance. The crust was the type that was drier and more cracker like. It had no "chew" to it. It ate more like a flatbread. It also had no flavor. No hint of salty or sweet notes., almost like cardboard. The sauce and cheese were equally flavorless,with no evidence of the addition of hard cheeses or herbs to add some complexity. I took into account the pizza was delivered so I did not expect the pizza to be fresh and hot, but because the crust had those initial characteristics, reheating the pizza made the crust drier and harder, with no good sauce and cheese to save the day. Bottom line: there are many places in the Queens area that produce vastly superior pizza at similar value points, so there is really no reason to subject yourself to this mediocre NYC pizza experience. I wanted to like it but I could not honestly recommend this in good conscience.

(3.5 stars) Gino's is located in a plaza with a Chinese supermarket and a few other businesses which share one big parking lot. When you first walk in, you notice right away there's little room to stand because on your left is the pizza kitchen with the slices on display and on the right are fridges of beverages and a cute little coffee bar. However, don't let the front of the shop fool you because there's actually a bigger dining area if you continue walking inside. They have many members of staff (most are young men around my age but it was still somewhat intimidating having 7-8 pairs of eyes watch me as I make a selection). I'm assuming some of them are servers for the back dining room but since there were no customers at the time, they came to the front to chill with the others. I got garlic knots and a bbq chicken slice. I appreciated them putting my food in a box whereas most places use a paper bag. The pizza was as cheesy as expected and the pieces of chicken were tender so it garnered a 4 from me. I was disappointed, however, on the garlic knots. The flavor was inconsistent between bites as some parts of the same knot were left completely unseasoned and the parts where there was more dough were slightly undercooked which yielded an undesirable grainy taste. If you're one of the many people who attempted to make homemade bread during quarantine and inevitably failed, then you'd know what this texture tastes like. Overall, I did enjoy the pizza so I would come back for that and may also return to dine in and try out their entrees.

We usually order for delivery from Gino's. We decided to dine in and it was worth it. Food was delicious, service was impeccable and dining area was very clean. Hubby had the Filet Of Sole Francise with a side salad. I ordered the Lobster Ravioli in Vodka sauce with shrimp. Both dishes were delicious.

This pizza used to be better when they opened up a few years ago. The Sicilian pizza is the best pizza you can get at this pizzeria. The regular pizza is average. The food is average. The costumer service is average. The prices are average. The Super Bowl specials are spectacular. If they cater parties at this rate it would be great. Overall four stars is well deserved more good than bad. read more

I ordered delivery from here once. I had the baked ziti w/ eggplant which was good, the bbq chicken was really good, and the stuffed mushrooms which i didnt really like, too watery and bland. Delivery was quick and the prices were reasonable. I was able to order the food online, which was cool. I would definitely give them another try. There's a lot more stuff on the menu I would like to try. read more

I have only eaten the food here a few times, mostly when I "need" to order a pizza and need it fast. The pizza lacks dept of flavor and for some reason is over seasoned??? This past Monday night I needed a fast dinner so I ordered the meatball parm dinner... what a mistake, these were the very worst meatballs I have ever tasted. I asked my co worker if he ever had a meatball that tasted like Alpo... I threw them out, I learned my lesson... never again. read more

Ate here a few times...ordered here a few times... prices are always different. When they make a mistake I am blamed...and the person in front is usually rude... I go here because of convience... but hey...if I am to pay 32$ for a white pie with spinach....I will give the place a bad review....for bread cheese and a little spinach.... not sure what these guys are smoking at times.... read more

I order here frequently for convenience. One time, the order came while I was out and my kid picked it up. She gave the delivery man a tip, which I left for her. When I called him to make sure the order was delivered, he lied to me and said she didn't leave a tip and then asked what amount I wanted to put on the card. I called Gino's to report it but cashier person didn't do anything except "oh okay." Dishonest service. read more

This place should really not get Any star at all!!!! Pandemic is so serious in our nation!!!!! I went yesterday to pick my order ( pie of chicken pizza ) for my family... when I asked for paper plate the man behind the counter licked his fingers and grabbed a bag and paper plate same hand.. he handed the bag to me.... I was shocked when he handed me the bag.. I told , i can't accept the bag because I SAW him licked his hand and continued working... this pandemic will not stop when people like him are not taking this matter seriously.......FYI..I confronted the manager he simply just said sorry to me... SORRY......but this employee should be fired ... our lives is change because of this virus !! Kids are home schooling, millions of people lost their job or working home. We are not allow to visit our mother. Grandkids can NOT see their grandparents in person. Hospital rules have changed....Everything stop!!! Ordered two pies tonight they forgot one came back a half hour later with the other pizza. Was embarrassed in front of my guests. Their answer when told we would never order from them again from the woman in charge.....sorry you feel that way. Very professional. Must not need the business. I have a business in whitestone. One of the best neighborhood pizzeria in Flushing. It's inside the outdoor mall on Parsons Blvd. Plenty of parking. They do have a dine-in area. But I mostly order delivery. Pizza here are great. Also, they have delicious entrees. I love their penne alla volka. They also have whole wheat pasta for the healthy eaters. Their chicken noodle soup is amazing. Perfect for curing colds. read more

Only came her because it was on the neighborhood. Pizza is nothin spacial, and not cheap. Order a big pie, it was ok. Have much better else where in the city. Then order a few garlic nots, they were awful and has not taste. Make sure to check the price total. The guys there over charged me for both times that I ordered. read more

first time I ordered. I ordered online off grub hub looking for some pasta. I ordered around 345 and it arrived quickly at 415. distance is just under 2 miles. food was hot and smelled great. they gave lots of bread that i guess comes with the dishes i ordered which is a plus. penne garlic and olive oil is very tasty and the prices are affordable. havent tried the pizza yet though. happy they did not forget utensils or grated cheese I requested. very satisfied. will be ordering delivery again! read more

70 minutes later. No food. Called them and was told that food just went out. 50 minutes later called again. They said they never got the order. Then repeated my order back to me. They then hang up on me when I cancelled the order that they "never got". I forgive mistakes but not LYING. Disgusting business. Then I get an email from Seamless saying that this place was missing a driver and is unable to make deliveries. Again LYING. LIARS! read more

Recently moved to the area and was craving pizza with my daughter. Always knew Gino's was there cause my husband gets his haircuts in the same shopping center so went in and they were very helpful. Lots of people in the cooking area so its nice to know you wont wait long for your food. Got a regular slice and sicilian slice and it was AMAZING!!! Also a few days later ordered delivery and the time was great and i believe I got a meatball parm which was delicious. Great place for pizza. read more

I love this place. I have been coming here for 4 years even though I lived in Fresh Meadows and Maspeth. They have Excellent stuffed pizza. Even their regular pizza is amazing. They are very friendly and provide fast service. When I am not in a hurry I like to dine in. They have a few booths in the back and the service is very good. If your in this neighborhood stop by and eat something. read more

This is a small local pizzeria and family style restaurant. The pizza is good but not the best. The garlic bread they freshly bake is pretty good as well as the entrees on the menu. I personally enjoy the spinach matoctti, chicken marsala, and eggplant rollanti. The ambiance has a nice local casual feel to it. The restaurant is clean and has parking. They also offer salad or pasta with any entrée. The portions are decent sized too. I will definitely come back or order delivery from them because the food quality is worth the money you pay. read more

Ok imagine waking Christmas morning as a kid. Seeing the biggest present under the tree wrapped shiny paper, bright bow. You want to get it first. Now imagine a pretty building, all clean and perfect for business. Sad part is looks are deceiving, on line pizza looks so yummy, reality is very bland taste. Below average sauce. I love Gino's! It's truly my favorite pizza place. I've been coming here ever since I was young. The pizza is delicious. The menu has great options available to you if you're not in the mood for pizza. The workers are so friendly and respectful. I always feel welcome when I walk in. One of the best pizzerias in Whitestone! No matter what I order, the food here is always awesome. The pizza is great, especially their specialty slices. I've also gotten calzones (unreal), chicken dishes, and pasta, that are always delicious and fresh. The staff is professional and friendly, and the place is always clean. It's especially nice because you can order out, or to the restaurant for a sit down dinner. It's great for little kids! Delivery is always quick, too. Definitely a loyal customer at Gino's. read more

Ginos is my go to spot for a quick, very good Italian meal. Don't feel like cooking , Ginos it is!! Try the lasagna, chicken parm, steak with veg or fettuccine Alfredo! Trust me you'll be happy. It's all reasonably priced as well. They do get super busy , especially on the weekends so it's prob better to call ahead and go pick it up yourself. The pizzas very good also. Not my favorite place for pizza but it is very good. The guys that work there are also super nice and helpful! Give Ginos a shot , you won't regret it. read more

Food is excellent!!! For a pizzeria this place delivers quality Italian food, better than many Italian restaurants that I've been to. You are given a large portion of good food for a very affordable price. Delivery service is excellent as well. I have never waited longer than 45 minutes to receive my food. Absolutely love their Avocado Salad!! It is just delish! My favorite takeout salad ever!! Giving it 3 stars because I wish their pizza was better. I order at least once a week or every other week and I've only ordered a whole pie maybe 4 times and each and every single time the bottom of the pizza has been burnt which doesn't taste right at all. This was my second visit to this restaurant, and I returned because my first experience left such a…read morelasting impression. I am happy to report that it did not disappoint..again. The service was once again exceptional. The wait staff were attentive, efficient, and genuinely helpful throughout the evening. One particular server stood out; she appeared to be the tallest of the three women working that night and carried herself with the poise and awareness of a manager (if she happens to not be one). Unfortunately, I never caught her name, but she was incredibly cordial and offered thoughtful recommendations, way above and beyond what was being expected What stood out the most was her attention to detail and ability to anticipate customer needs. It seemed like next-level thinking in the context of a waitressing/host/restaurant profession. When discussing menu items, she immediately recognized that I preferred no spice and proactively addressed that consideration before I even had to ask. That level of attentiveness is uncommon. Many servers simply record orders as requested, but she demonstrated genuine knowledge of the menu and an ability to think beyond the transaction itself. (This attribute may be expected at some higher end restaurants.) Another example was when I requested that scallions and other greens be omitted from a dish. She immediately pointed out that other vegetables might still be present in the soup (from the base) and wanted to ensure there would be no concerns. While allergies were not my issue, I greatly appreciated the care she took to communicate clearly and avoid assumptions. Throughout the meal, she volunteered additional information about various dishes as a precaution, before we even asked (nor maybe even thought of asking). That level of professionalism and attention to detail elevates the entire dining experience. I know this was such a minor detail to bring up but the reason why I am calling this out is about the "experience", once again. Many of my past reviews were not just about how good food is (or the complaints) - but how representatives of an establishment become the core meaning of "dining". Yes, food is important, but the human element and interactions are also key. (who knows - pretty soon AI robots will be taking our orders, right!) Therefore, recognizing positive, unique and deserving aspects of a restaurant is just as crucial as the food output. Equally impressive was how the staff managed what appeared to be a very busy evening. The restaurant was packed, takeout orders especially the pizza boxes were stacked and in a line formation, waiting for pickup, and delivery guys seemed to be coming and going nonstop. Yet despite the pace, the team never appeared overwhelmed. They balanced table turnover efficiently while continuing to provide thoughtful and attentive service. It is rare to see that combination executed so well. Their efforts certainly did not go unnoticed, and we happily tipped above 18%!! The atmosphere is energetic and fun. With multiple screens playing nonstop K-pop music videos ALL NIGHT long (and I'm not into that genre), yet the restaurant feels lively and vibrant, almost like a weekend bar. Yet somehow it still maintains a family-friendly environment that welcomes diners of all ages. The crowd was diverse, and the restaurant buzzed with activity throughout the night. Now... the food spoke for itself. Nearly every dish we ordered showcased quality ingredients and bold, satisfying flavors. Even the fried items were executed remarkably well. The fries, for example, arrived perfectly cooked - golden but not burnt, crisp, and piping hot, with steam still visibly rising despite the dim evening lighting. Every plate reflected care in preparation and attention to quality. Normally, with the amount of food ordered, I'd always have extras to pack up. Well... not this time. Photos simply do not do this place justice. We liked the crusty crust and what looked and tasted like sweet potato mousse which appeared to have been squeezed around the outer edges inside the crust ring. The silverware and crockery, including the stand to lay the pizza on, were all nice touches, so I wish the service and food matched these other elements much more closely. The drinks, even around Flushing are not like mind blowing, but if you're thirsty and need a beverage, I'd rather drink this than soda, tea, etc. The matcha latte was okay, but I'm not a huge fan of matcha still. I have eaten here - in the restaurant - and ordered using yelp. The food is usually good & the eggplant is (maybe was) great. This time my eggplant seemed tough, and not as "oven fresh" as I usually get it. Some of it had a strange, almost soggy texture. It was almost like the thick layer of cheese steamed some of the eggplant. It was pretty good, but not the usual eggplant I rave about to friends. I understand that rising prices may cause some establishments to cut corners, but I hope this is not the case here. I would be willing to spend extra for the best eggplant I have had. The reason I mention this is because my salad changed as well. The portion was smaller. There was more lettuce and lots of carrots, but everything else seemed to be cut back on. I used to get at least 10 olives- usually much more. This time I received only 5 - 2 black and 3 green. Again I understand food costs rising, but this is a big change from what I expected. I hope I am wrong and this is a one time event with my entrée. The salad is still good, but that is not that important. My go-to restaurant for eggplant parmigiana changing the quality will affect how often I buy from Gino's. read more

This pizzeria is not worth anyone's time or money. The food is well below average. Even the pizza is just so-so. But what really ruins this place are the workers, all but one employee are rude and need serious training when it comes to customer service. But, the biggest problem is the owner, he's an arrogant little stain, who for some reason believes he is better then everyone else. He's in need of customer service training more then anyone else at this pizzeria. I've been buying pizza and food from here for a few years, and every year that passes the whole experience gets worse and worse. Don't waste your time with this place folks. Hopefully the changing demographic of the neighborhood puts the little fool out of business. I know that they will never get another dime of mine, my friends or my families money. Ok my review of this place.. this place needs a bit of a change from their pizza sauce to how long they keep the pizza in the oven when reheating.. 1. The pizza is OK nothing great only grab from this place when I hungry and near it. 2. Very little sauce on the pizza and cheese not a queens type of pizza I'll go to x-tra cheese pizza on northern blvd 3. I've tasted most of the pizza and really stop, salad pizza nah.. 4. Their sausage rolls and chicken are dry and flavorless 5. If no stars was an option I would select that... This is probably the most pathetic Pizzeria in New York City... I placed an order for a side of mozzarella sticks and a bottle of soda. After an hour and a half passed, I called the "restaurant" and was told their driver was busy with other deliveries. I then called back AGAIN after another 20 minutes to be told they accidentally delivered my order to the wrong address and were closed now so they couldn't help me... He then hung up the phone on me, I called back and he hung up again. To the management, you need to learn how to handle your employees better not even mentioning the work that needs to be done on your customer service... ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC!! read more

The worst customer service! I placed an order for a pie and then they made me come there only to tell me that they didn't have the dough to make the pie. I also had the worst delivery driver named Anibal who would refuse tips if the tips weren't large enough for him and then give me change. Not only that, he'd arrive at my front door, wait 5-10 minutes then deliver the pizza. These people also opened up a place in Merrick, stay away from them. read more
