So since yelp only allows full stars, I'd give this a 3.8/5. We ordered pizza for delivery, and got a plain pie extra well done. I can't speak on the service or ambience of this place since we got the pie delivered. Now some of the great things about this pie was we ordered it crispy and even tho it was delivered it remained its crispiness and had absolutely no flop which was great. It's a very very good pizza pie especially to hang with friends and enjoy some games etc. only added garlic powder to it to give it more flavor, I do wish the sauce had a bit more flavor but overall it's a very good pie. I haven't tried anything else from here so I can only speak on their regular plain cheese pie. So take this rating lightly, as I will try more of their menu items. But overall it's a very good pizza, I just wish the sauce had a little more flavor but overall a good pizza. Oh btw even on delivery it still came out pretty piping hot which was nice. read more

Gino's where have you been for the last 26 years of my life? Actually the more appropriate question is how could I miss this gem and goldmine of a Trattoria and Pizzeria when my Mom lived less than a mile away from 2004 to 2018? I was in New Hyde Park this afternoon and en route to the airport. So I did the awesome Yelp search and Voila! I started with the Mediterranean salad - it had to be the most balanced, seasoned, fresh and delicious Med salad I have ever had. The grilled eggplant was so well seasoned and perfectly done. The blend of the chick peas( perfectly cooked), mixed greens, diced onions, cucumbers and feta was just eye and taste bud popping. I got the balsamic olive oil dressing and an 3xtra hints mustard and all I can say is Wow! wow! WOW! Well the tone was set and the palate and tum tum were screaming " Bring on the pizza". Boy did they bring it! I started with the perfect cheese slice, then two more and had to get the pepperoni that was solo and lonely. The perfect thin, crispy and foldable crust and the cheese n sauce. Gorgeous! I was so into my meal that I completely blanked at my awesome server's name - spunky, quick, knew exactly what I needed and just great care. Loved the outside, loved the inside. Finally took the time out to sit down at Gino's and I'm more impressed than I am when I pick up take out orders. Service is good the waiters are attentive to all tables not just the ones in their section. Baked ravioli was really good I don't remember needing to add salt. I recently went here for my gf's friend's birthday and to be honest, I wouldn't come here if it's either a Friday or Saturday night. We had to wait an HOUR for our shared appetizer (clams oreganata) and they didn't even taste fresh (fishy). My entree was okay but it honestly could've been better (the sauce could've been fresher). I have been here before and was always good and now it's under new ownership for a while and definitely stepped up a notch. Brandon is the new owner and with his staff they are very dedicated to making this establishment a staple in the community and Long Island. In the past year I have dined here many times with my wife and friends and attended several parties. The food is always good even with large parties which they can accommodate in one of their 2 party rooms. I have had their pizza, several types, Coffee, Cappuccino, different types of Pasta, and most recently the Eggplant Rollatini, sorry no pic on the Eggplant, all were awesome. Also, their Cannoli and Biscotti are also great. Have not tried their cakes yet. The menu is extensive. To be honest, I thought it was walking into Umberto's, but since I've never been to Gino's, I figured I'd give it a try, the place was dead. I was the only customer so I ordered a buffalo chicken and a margarita slice buffalo chicken was good. It was a heavy hardy slice. The chicken pieces were definitely too big for the slice and the margarita was lackluster, it almost looks like umbertos from the outside. I think that's the whole point of Gino in that area is to get the overflow from umbertos. I wish them luck. I won't be back. read more

Impressions: We walked in at different times but got quick seating, followed by quick waters, including the lemons I asked for. Solid. Then came unexpected breadsticks! They came with butter not oil, but tasty as a start. The waitress offered more bread and even noted she could bring Italian bread instead. Service: 5 stars. The place had soft background music, nice lighting, plenty of space inside. Ambiance: 5 stars. My friend got garlic knots for the table. They're huge, and super soft, and absolutely delicious. Plenty of marinara for dipping. Even the burnt looking one was perfectly done. 5 stars. Out came the pie, split 50/50 mushroom and sausage+garlic. I had one of each and Oh. My. Goodness. This is the best pizza outside of maybe Staten Island I've ever had. Chock full of toppings - worth every penny to add those. Perfect balance of sauce and cheese. Perfectly crispy crust. Absolutely divine flavor through and through. 24 stars. If I'm ever going to be enticed to come back to Long Island, it's going to be with a visit to Gino's. I've been going to Gino's for years now, at least a few times every month. They always have great specialty slices, which is what I usually go in for. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu though. I decided to finally write a review for it after ordering dinner here last night. I saw that they were having a $55 family take out special so I gave it a try. I wasn't sure how much food it would come with, but wow did it come with a lot of food. Tons of chicken parm and linguine, a huge salad, and a grandma pie. Easily enough to feed 8 people. I came here for a psychic event which was held in their party room. It was a nice size room with a bar in the back. The room was pretty plain but there wasn't anything bad about it. There was a bit of confusion when we first walked as no one from the event or the restaurant was there to greet us, but it seemed pretty lax and we found a spot just fine. I was a bit nervous about the quality of the food being that is was going to be massed produced being that there were approximately 50 women there. But we received four courses and each course was really good. An appetizer of mozzarella and tomato, a bowl of pasta (the sauce really good!), a choice of an entree (I chose the tilapia) and cannolis to end the night. Without a doubt, the waiter from Montenegro that served us stands alone at the top of the best servers we have encountered. He was patient with our big and very loud group. All of our questions regarding items on the menu he answered them all in a friendly, polite and professional manner. Each item we ordered from the menu had such delicious flavors, cooked to perfection, sprinkled with the love of the hard-working staff members. We loved the French Fries with Mozzarella. It's the Italian version of Disco Fries. When we went to pay the bill, we did not realize that the gratuities were already included in the final bill. The pizza was pretty good - nothing outstanding but not bad either. I like my pizza to have a slightly thinner crust but I've seen worse offenders. I was hoping I could give Gino's a higher rating, really hoping, but one of my biggest tests for a pizza place is the buffalo chicken slice. I know. But for me it could be a make it or break it situation. I came in here during the New Hyde Park Street Fair. The place with abuzz with action and it was nice to see this restaurant get some attention that its competitor down the street is known for. It was hot, and all I wanted was a buffalo chicken and a water and to sit somewhere for a few minutes with my mom. She ordered a slice of regular and I ordered a buffalo chicken. The regular didn't need to be put in the oven because it was piping hot, but my buffalo chicken did. Not a problem. After a few minutes, I rejoined my mom at a table with my slice. When I went to go pick it up, it was very hot, so I have it a minute to cool down. I was wrong in it actually being hot, because it wasn't. I don't know if this is normal for them, or if they cook their crust to this standard, but it was rather doughy. With such a heavy pizza I would expect there to be a little crisp on the crust to help structure the slice. But alas, doughy, and if I do return to Gino's I'll make sure to request a well-done slice and see if it comes out the way I prefer pizza. As for the buffalo chicken... I was so... so... disappointed? Sad, more like it. There was no heat. No pinch of heavenly hot sauce fire. Just mediocre sauce on lukewarm chicken pieces. I ate it despite it lacking the oomph a buffalo slice deserves to have. I was hungry and left a bit sad I didn't get that hot sauce fixing I was craving. I believe Gino's can do so much better then what I had, and will make it a point to return when they are less busy. read more

I tried Gino's instead of my usual Italian restaurant because they left a menu in my door and I thought I would give them a try. I ordered grilled salmon fillet, pasta primavera, escarole with white beans and a Caesar salad. After 45 minutes the salmon was very dry and the vegetable that came with it were the same vegetables with the spaghetti. It was a vegetable "melody" that after tasting I'm not sure if it was fresh or frozen.The Caesar salad and the escarole and beans were fine. I thought the price of such average food was a little high and when I checked my receipt I found that they added a delivery charge even thought they are only 1.5 miles away. Wish I could award 0 stars. All of our 4 dinners had watery sauce to the point that when you tried to eat you would be splashed. Why did the cook not drain the sauce? To add insult to injury we were scammed on the bill. The receipt states that 3.5% will be deducted for cash payment. The bill came at full price as shown on the menu. When we asked the cashier about the cash discount she said that it was taken. We showed her it was not. Then she said that if we used a credit card the 3.5% would be added to the bill. We explained that that is not what their own receipt stated. She persisted in in denying what their own receipt said.
