Although their food is fantastic and so are their pies, the time I came in to dine with my wife about a week ago I happened to use the bathroom after our pizza meal and their kitchen door was open and I was very very disappointed to see that some of their kitchen staff was NOT wearing a mask! Please management make sure your kitchen staff is wearing a mask at all times, it is just the right thing for those who come to eat, as well as the other people that work there who sacrifice their time being there wearing one. Clear communication on phone is important. When a customer asks for extra sauce for an order and it's not mentioned that it's more money, it's not good business sense., just saying. Do you really need .75 cents extra for a little extra sauce to cut the deal. Valuing customers is a good thing. Would ya just give that little spoon full of extra sauce on the side for no extra charge. My order was thirty dollars, throw in one little extra sauce , probably the equivalent to 3 tablespoons of sauce. Too much competition out there to nickel and dime people. For the better part of the review, I do like the way you cut up chicken for hero's. I usually order delivery from Gino's. It's easy to do online and on your receipt, it gives you an estimated time of delivery. It usually estimates 30 minutes and the delivery person is more often than not here before that, with the food still hot. They are very polite not to mention quick with delivery, even when the weather isn't the greatest. So yes, I do recommend their delivery service and I recommend you tip them well because they do their job extremely well, which is rare when it comes to food delivery. Now on to the food! The pizza is delicious! The crust is thin and the ingredients fresh. The pasta portions are generous and the garlic bread strips that come with the pasta dish are just so darn good. The zeppoles are so fluffy yet hearty and not greasy. I haven't physically visited Gino's but Gino's has visited my house serval times since my neighbor recommended them and I'm glad she did. read more

Good pizza, the buffalo chicken slice is to die for, and their plain slice is also great. Their salad is amazing, and I personally love the chicken Caesar salad - so fresh and tasty. Their ravioli and lasagna is pretty good too, as well as the mozzarella sticks and the clams. Had a gluten free spaghetti dish here a while back, wasn't the best tasting, and I feel some of their dishes are hit and miss. But they do the classics well, give them a chance! read more

When I met with Andrea the price for the buffet was $39.95. I was charged $45.00 a person. I chose to do alcohol by consumption. They placed two bottles of wine on the table, red and white. If the bottle was opened, they charged you for it. This was not explained to me at the time. What got me was that the waitresses were pouring the remains of the bottle into other bottles. I guess just be careful when you order a glass of wine there. It might have been opened by a party guest and funneled into a bottle and then served to you. read more

I work near the Gino's in Manhasset and always love the food and the service. i live closer to the one in new Hyde park so I had to order from them one night for dinner. I didn't realize it would be so different. manhasset is a way more socially upscale neighborhood but surprisingly the prices are higher in new hyde park, and you get less for your money. You also get attitude from the little bratty girls at the register. I don't recommend the food either. For some reason, just not as good. read more

When it comes to a good local place that serves quality Italian home-cooked meals - This is The Place to go to. Their regular pizza in my opinion is the Absolute BEST! No one even comes close - and with another prime pizza place just a block away. Between the both of them, they have officially established New Hyde Park as The Pizza Capital of Long Island! As for their Service, I can honestly say that I have never ever had any issue or complaint - in fact, I find the entire staff goes above and beyond and are always super-friendly. They seem to put a lot of effort into making it feel like a Neighborhood trattoria. Really negative experience. The website offers curbside pick-up. I called and ordered fried calamari - curbside pick-up. The young lady who answered the phone was reluctant about the pick-up. They kept me waiting much longer than they said. Then acted like I hadn't called to tell them I was outside..even though I HAD called them .When the young woman brought out my food she did NOT speak to me. This place used to be a small hole in the wall but recently closed for renovation, likely to compete with the neighboring behemoth, Umberto's. The interior is all new and quite nice, however I have only experienced it from the pizza take-out counter. I haven't ventured to any of the food on the restaurant side just yet. They have a very nice selection of specialty slices, calzones, rolls, and other delights at the counter. They have sicilian slices topped with chunky marinara and just a touch of grated romano - perfect. I will come here just for one of those slices. I also recommend the sicilian slice with bread crumbs, onions, and anchovies if the little fishies are your thing. The garlic knots are outstanding, I always find myself ordering a few when I visit. In addition to regular knots, they make a knot that is sliced in half and stuffed with pepperoni and mozzarella that I am addicted to. My only gripe is that the counter staff can be kind of lackadaisical and gruff. The last time I was there, two of the workers were cursing very loudly at each other which made things awkward. Regardless, the slices have been good on all occasions, so I will probably continue to visit despite the malcontent employees. read more

Gino's, a new Italian restaurant serving both pizza and entrees had opened up in the area recently. We wanted to try something new so we decided to check this place out. We arrived at 12 PM, and the place was pretty empty with 2-3 patrons standing at the front ordering pizza by the slice. Gino's has a very familiar layout: pizza station in the front with small 2-person tables running along the opposite wall and 8-10 4-person booth tables in the back. Our party of 5 were seated at a booth table in the rear, and a extra chair was brought at the end for the 5th person to sit at. We could smell the newness of the establishment, as there was still a lingering new plastic smell of some sort. The ambiance was very nice, with tiled flooring, lacquered tables and nice soft red cushion seats. The bathroom was also very nice, continuing the nice tilework, subway tiles on the walls, and granite countertops. Our waiter came over and dropped off napkins, fork, knives, menus, and took our drink orders. The menu was pretty extensive, offering soups, salads, entrees, heroes, and desserts. We ordered a Grandma's Pizza ($15), Veal cutlet parmigiana hero ($9), Caesar Salad ($6.50), and 6 Garlic Knots ($3.00). As we waited, a basket of warm bread was served. It took about 10 minutes for our food to come out: the pizza was served on a waiter stand beside our table, and the rest of our dishes served on the table. The Garlic Knots were perfectly seasoned with garlic and salt. On the side was marinara sauce served from a metal gravy pourer, with the perfect balance of tartness and sweetness, and consistency (not too runny or chunky). Yum!! The Caesar salad was a letdown. The lettuce was fresh and croutons were crisp, but the caesar dressing was too creamy and had a bit too much mayo. Some shaved pecorino romano cheese would have also been nice to top it off. The Grandma's Pizza, about 1.5'x1', was thin and crispy, with all its cheesy gooeyness and tasty tomato sauce. It was very good, but I felt like it was lacking something from being a super-star quality of Grandma's pizza. The Veal cutlet parmigiana hero, about 7" in length was generous in veal portions, with an even proportion of cheese, but it didn't really get my taste buds too excited. I found the veal to be a little overcooked or as if it were slightly old, parts of it being chewy from cartilage of some sort. Service was very good as the waiter came over numerous times to check up on us and to see if we wanted anything else. He also took the liberty to serve our first slices from the Grandma's pizza, and asked if we wanted fresh grounded cheese. He was very genuine and made sure we were satisfied with everything. Gino's food was pretty good with a few odds and ends in preparing their food that still need to be tweaked. As we left around 1:20 pm, a good number of patrons were ordering pizza by the slice and sitting at the smaller tables adjacent to the pizza station, but we were still the only diners in the back. Prices are slightly higher than the norm. I remember seeing a Boneless Buffao Chicken pizza for $25, ouch! Though I might consider coming back to grab a few of their pizza slices. Note: For anyone interested on throwing a small event, we were informed that there is a medium-sized room next store that can serve catered food for about 50 guests. read more

The food is amazing and very tasty. Joe is extremely accommodating and you must try their catering menu. Perfect for holiday and family events. They have not skipped a beat through this quarantine. The food here is only good, not great. I ordered the fiorentina pizza which was extremely big, probably about two feet wide in diameter. The one negative thing about the pizza was the extremely dry chicken on it. My family also ordered the Gino's 100% beef burger with fries; the burger was dry as well and the fries were stale. The online ordering option was extremely easy and convenient though and when I arrived to pick up the food, it was ready to go.
