I don't know how to feel about this since we got treated Gino's pizza at work and surprisingly they were delicious for thick standard pizzas. My coworker and I went there today to try their dine out menu and we were a bit disappointed. We had their harvest mushroom soup to start. The soup was way too salty but had plenty of mushrooms. The chicken souvlaki wasn't very good. Everything was overly greasy. Couldn't eat the rice as that was the greasiest. Chicken tasted dry. The one spud and Greek salad were the only edible items on my plate. The tuxedo cake was good and so was the server as she was the only one managing the restaurant during lunch time.

Gino's is an institution in New West Sapperton area. It has been around for ages and consistently serves tasty home style greek and Italian food. Comfort food for sure. I have been here a few times and always get the roast lamb. The portion is big and the meat is so tender and flavorful. On my last visit, I decided to try the lasagna as it is often raved by others. Pizzas are also another favorite of the customers. The lasagna is delicious, and the meatballs are so homely. Dense and full of meat. No filler here. It could be an off day when I had the lasagna as it was quite salty. But still tasty. The daily specials are pretty good deals and the dine out menu is one of the more affordable ones around. Great place. Paid street parking is out front, or you can try the side streets for free parking.

I came here with couple of friends to try their 2022 Dine-out menu. The restaurant is in uptown and there are side street parking that are free. Service was great here. Our meal was very enjoyable and I have to say, I think this is one of the best Dine-out menu on the list. So I got the following: 1) Chicken Noodle Soup 2) Roast lamb and it came with greek salad, rice, potatoe, pita bread and tzatziki sauce 3) Chocolate cake dessert The chicken noodle soup was perfect for the cold weather. It was definitely a comfort food for sure. The entrée was my favorite. The roast lamb was cooked to perfection. It was a very big portion. Potatoes was nice and soft. The pita bread was nice and warm when it came. The outside of the pita bread was a bit crispy the way I liked it and the inside nice and soft. Rice was flavorful and the Greek salad was delicious with lots of feta cheese. The chocolate cake wasn't anything special but it finished off the meal. My friends all ordered lasagna and they said it was more on the salty side. The décor was nice here. We came early so it was not crazy busy. Later on in the evening the restaurant filled up and was a full house. I highly recommend trying their dine-out menu. I will definitely be back. Also note that they have a pasta special on Tuesday.

Came here for Dine Out 2022. Place is pretty much unchanged since the last time I was here a few years ago. Friendly staff. Chicken noodle soup was good. Lasagna - they used way too much salt. Friends and I could barely finish the thing. Knock 1 star off. Even thinking about it now makes me shrudder. Not sure if they messed up, but the fact that my friends felt the same way about their own dishes probably means the recipe needs to be adjusted. Chocolate cake - who doesn't like cake? Tasty. Maybe I'll try another item next time I'm here. The salty lasagna really turned me off.

What an amazing find! I am a big fan of Greek food, specifically the lamb dishes, and Gino's did not disappoint. I came on a Sunday and their special ($15.50) was the lamb roast so it was a no brainer. If you come here on Thursdays, this dish is just $11.95! The lamb roast dinner was huge. It came with a large piece of lamb, accompanied by rice, potatoes, greek salad, and pita bread. The pita bread was piping hot and was so soft. The lamb was tender and very flavourful. For comparison, Stepho's lamb roast is better, but this was a close second. I was very full by the time I finished everything, but I think I could have fit a few more bites of lamb! This is a wonderful restaurant that I've never come across before and really wish I did sooner when I lived in the area. I'll be sure to swing by next time I'm nearby and craving lamb, which is all the time!

My parents are leaving for an extended holiday, so we decided to have a family dinner before they left. We chose Gino's because it's a restaurant that has something for all tastes; that and their Dine Out is $15 which is a crazy deal for what you get. It's located in New West; about a 5min walk from Royal Columbian Hospital. Growing up in New West, I'd always have my birthday dinner here with my family. The menu has many options, but it isn't overwhelming. For today's visit, all of chose the Dine Out menu Pictured below are all Dine Out options. For mains you get three options: Small pizza, chicken or beef souvlaki, and lasagna or spaghetti. I've had a three and can say that you can't go wrong with either. My family and I decided to all get different Dine Out items so that we could share. The food: 1) Lasagna - the portion size is massive. I'm a big guy and can eat quite a bit for dinner. I ended up eating only half. The noodles are cooked perfectly and the sauce is a standard meat sauce that isn't too salty. The cheese is the best part. They bake their lasagnas so you get the crispy cheese edges. 2) Souvlaki - to me chicken souvlaki can be hit or miss because the chicken breast can dry out quickly if cooked too long and you end up having to load up on tzatziki sauce on the chicken to moisten it up. I've never had to do that at Gino's. The chicken is cooked perfectly. 3) Pizza - the pizzas here are famous around New Westminster. I can't really them to any of the chain places like Dominos and they're definitely not Napolitan style. The dough is thick with a crispy and flavourful crust. I usually get the same toppings everytime I order so it's tough to talk about the taste. All I can say is that they're not stingy with the cheese. Will I come back? I've never had a disappointing meal at Gino's and plan to continue eating here for as long as it stays open. It gets a 5 star rating from me.

Wonderfuly light and flaky phyllo filled with layers of warm spinach. I was pleasantly surprised how warm it stayed and long the pastry remained intact and not soggy. My partner had the Greek Ribs & Chicken which came with all the Greek fixings ( rice /Greek salad / potatos / tzatziki & pita). The ribs has a nice seasoning run on them but like most Greek chicken ( I found it was quite dry). The potato's were not heavily lemoned either. It really was just a roast potato. We also had a Baklava. This was over sweet & heavy with what I found similar to the taste of black licorice or ouzo. Personally not a fan. We lucked out and got a seat to eat but most people appear to be doing take out orders and pickups here. Food takes a while to be ready so be ready to wait and eat with people sitting or standing waiting for their food. There is small side table, window counter and larger side table but there is definitely not too many places to sit. I'd recommend just puting in an order before showing up to save on waiting time. Staff was friendly despite how busy it got. Located on Hastings St. Plenty of street parking & side street parking and definitely transit friendly.

I have seen a lot of good reviews about this place and convinced our party of 8 to come try it…read moresince it's in our neighborhood and we have been looking for a new local Greek restaurant since Panos on Marine Drive closed down. Sadly, we were sooooo disappointed! We came on a Saturday evening at peak time, around 6:30pm, so granted, we expected it to be busy. We were sat nearly right away in comfortable booths with tables. The waitress brought us menus and water. So far so good! We ordered our food, nothing crazy, several got the special of the night, lamb souvlaki with potatoes rice and pita. A couple ordered the seafood pasta, one asked for red sauce instead of cream sauce and two asked for veggie lasagna's but they only had one order available. When we asked about the beers on menu, we were told each one was unavailable except for Heineken and the seasonal beer. When we asked what it was, she didn't know. She then brought the can of beer over and said she wasn't sure what type it was. Fair enough! She was young, seemed new and not quite trained with alcohol so no big deal. It gave us a giggle. It was a Granville Island radler btw. I ordered a Heineken and my friend ordered the yummy sounding spicy passionfruit margarita. My beer came fairly quick but no margarita. Then the young waitress came out to say that our food would take a bit longer to come out since they were a bit slammed with orders and asked if we wanted any appetizers. We decided we'd be ok, and decided to wait. One hour later!!!!! I'm not joking, one hour later, the margarita drink came out. Again, we noticed very young and probably newly hired staff attempting to make drinks. When this $19 drink came out, it looked like the rim of salt was touched with fingers and a lot of it was missing. However, my friend desperate for a drink or morsel of anything, decided to just have it as it came. She said it was delicious and the best thing she had. One hour and a half later!!! Our food came out. My medium rare lamb was cooked through and the pasta with red sauce came out with a cream sauce, but there was NO way we were going to send anything back as we were pretty hangry at this point. The potatoes were delicious, the rice extremely plain. All 8 of us agreed that for the price, service and quality of food, we would not be returning, although my friend said if the passionfruit drink was on the happy hour menu, she would consider it. All in all, very disappointed.

Greek Fellas sets the bar for Greek food for me and it won't be an easy one for others to meet. If there were more than five stars, this restaurant and its team would deserve them all. Greek Fellas is not just a restaurant...it's a feeling, a memory, a small journey to Greece without needing a passport. From the moment you walk in, you're wrapped in warmth that is genuine, & effortless hospitality that Greeks are known for...the kind that makes you slow down, savour the moment, and stay a little longer than planned. It's rare to encounter a chef who can elevate classic Greek flavours to this level, but they have done it, and they have done it with elegance. I've had a lot of Greek food in the past and this place is hands down the best Greek restaurant in the city! The food is absolutely delicious and filled with authentic Greek flavours that really stand out. Every bite carries care, balance, and authenticity. I was a big fan of the pita bread platter (Tzatziki/Hummus/Tirokafteri & pita). The tzatziki was so creamy and refreshing, and add in the warm, pillowy pita to scoop it all up, & suddenly it's impossible to stop! I'd say the star of the show was the Original Platter and first of all, it's huge! Mouthwatering every single time I think about it! The chicken and lamb were beyond incredible! The calamari was unreal! Tender outside and wonderfully crunchy outside! The Spanakopita was so good, it deserves the spotlight. And their Greek salad is done right! The cheese dish (Saganaki) was fire, literally! Crispy edges, melty inside, with that perfect hint of lemon! I didn't think it could get much better, but it did when we were served all three of their desserts: Ek Mek, Baklava, & Bougatsa. The Ek Mek is a three-layer cake that's light & luscious! The Baklava was an exquisite blend of flaky pastry and rich nuts. The Bougatsa was a flaky, crispy pastry with a creamy custard filling! It was the perfect finale! My mouth is watering just writing this review :) Absolutely killer Greek food and flawless service in the most coziest atmosphere! We ate so well! Expect generous portions, & real Greek hospitality! But what truly made my experience exceptional was the outstanding service. The service is just phenomenal here. No joke. There are very few restaurants that have this level of service. Seriously... You feel seen, welcomed, and genuinely cared for. That kind of presence stays with you long after the table is cleared. The family behind it is as wonderful as their food -- genuine, kind, and committed to keeping their traditions alive. The quality of the food was exceptional--each dish was crafted with the freshest ingredients, and the flavours truly transport you to the Mediterranean. Our server never missed a beat, checking in at just the right moments, and making us feel so taken care of. Thank you to the chef, and staff for going above and beyond. The team and the chef together create an experience that's not just a meal -- it's a moment you'll remember long after you leave. I love the warm and welcoming interior here -- it immediately makes you feel at home. The place was packed, which just goes to show how amazing this restaurant truly is. And let's be honest--I'm not just writing this review out of the goodness of my heart. I want Greek Fellas to be packed every night so they never go out of business, and I can keep eating here forever! With its outstanding cuisine, attentive service, and charming atmosphere, it's a place I would highly recommend to anyone looking to indulge in a memorable Greek dining experience. I wish that I could carry this place back home with me. In short: Greek Fellas is the kind of place you'll want to keep secret, but it's just too good not to share. Go, eat, enjoy--and save me a seat!
