I love to come to visit my daughter so we can eat here. We can all find Greek food we are excited to eat. Everything was tasty and lived up to our expectations. This is the first time I've had anything from Gino's even though I've lived close by for many years. I ordered an all meat pizza for myself. Overall it's pretty good, although some of the slices of meat I'm not too sure about. They were pretty thick slices, so it was hard to tell if they just didn't crisp up much or if they were packaged deli meat. The crust is a thicker, greasy-style crust, which is what I was craving this time, so that hit the spot. I ordered cheese bread for my daughter. It was only $3, so I can't complain that it was unimpressive, but I would happily pay more for more! For delivery I was told about 25 minutes, but it took 40. This situation is a pet peeve of mine, so this definitely affected my rating. I will definitely order from Gino's at least once more to see if I will become a regular. read more

We moved to Sapperton back in November of last year and have to say it's one of our favorite local restaurants for both dining and take-out. As others have said, it's a family orientated restaurant and has a wide variety of choices. Being a more frequent customer than perhaps most people, we've tried a lot of stuff. For example, their pizza will beat out Panago/Dominos (the chain places) any day of the week. Excellent amount of meat/toppings and not overly cheesy/greasy and a good crust to it. Very tasty and filling. The BBQ ribs a very tender and have good BBQ sauce. You'll need a napkin for sure. The lamb/chicken Slovaki are very good, but similar to most Greek places in that you get tons of carbs - potatoes, rice, bread, greek salad and tatzeki, but only 2 chicken skewers. If your like me who is an average guy / 160 pounds and your hungry, do yourself a favor and order 3 skewers! Slider burgers - Tasty. Can't think of the other dishes right now... The customer service is very friendly and timely overall. The place itself looks like hybrid cross between a pub, sports bar and restaurant. The clintele sometimes may it seem more like the Pantry however (older folks)!! So despite it looking a tad confusing on their target audience, it's obvious they've got an established customer base that keep coming back, so why change anything right? Perhaps it's deliberate to get every crowd in there. All in all, I definitely recommend trying them out. The food is great consistently from our experiences. read more

We recently moved to the Quay and are learning about new places . We wanted take out pasta one night and so I searched Yelp for what was close by . We found Gino's , price was good and had what we wanted so ordered for pick up . She efficiently gave us the time and made sure she had our number. When my husband got there place was packed . The food was hot , plenty without being obscene and delicious. We made sure to try and remember this place. We recently ordered again and this time I tried the souvlaki dinner and my husband had the ravioli with meatballs. Again delicious and again my hubby said place was packed. Really wasn't that great overall... First of all, service was HORRIBLE. 2 servers for the whole restaurant, took 2 hours for our complete seating. Waited for the first 15 minutes without even getting our drink orders. Food was overall very bland. Decent portions for the price, however the quality just isn't there. Recently my husband and I went there for dinner. I must say that I am sure I will NEVER go back. We ordered prime rib and we were disappointed to see it come with two small boiled potatoes, and small portions of mediocre vegetables. The prime rib was over cooked and very salty. The worst of all was the fact that the meat had the taste of old meat. We complianted to the waitress who did the best she could, then passed us on to the manager. The manager simply told us she has sold 20 of these today and never had a problem, then grabbed our plates and walked off in a huff. We were left sitting there not knowing what to do. I appreciated the fact that they didn't charge us for the meal; but would have liked to have been treated more respectfully, since we were certainly not rude or disrespectful. I would not recommend Gino's based on the owner's poor treatment of customers and the quality of food. read more

As we moved to "New West" we were forced to find a restaurant that made a decent pizza. Unfortunately there was a lot of bad pizza eaten in this search. I was actually shocked that there are a lot of local restaurants that serve really bad pizza, the more shocking part is that they are still in business. This search ended with our first [of many] Gino's pizza order. The pizza is always hot never greasy, like some. The topping portions are substantial not "painted-on" like others. And the crust is, well edible. In fact their pizza has the only crust that I will actually finish, from tip to rind. Yes, the pizza is that good. read more

I ordered the fettuccini Alfredo, which is usually with mounds of white sauce and as described on the menu. This was the worst one I'd ever eaten. The was NO sauce! Instead it was a bland oily mess with no taste. Perhaps I shouldn't try to order anything but pizza and burgers for delivery. read more

I was there for barbeque night, I ordered the half chicken. the dark meat was fine, but the white meat was dry and tough. The sauce was good and the sides were fine, but half of my half chicken was not good. so it's a Meh. read more

We battled fruit flies the entire dinner, the pitcher of beer was flat and ended up with flies in it. We asked to get it discounted and yipes we still had to pay half price!! Poor quality of ingredients. It smelled and looked so delicious but the toppings and cheese were really subpar, almost as though they were old and/or had been frozen. We really wanted to like it, as we would rather support a local business than a franchise, but I'm afraid we can't recommend Gino's pizza. I'd put the chain places - Pizza Hut, Dominos and Panago - above this place. On the plus side, the price was reasonable and delivery was fairly quick. But the quality of the pizza was poor so what does it matter. read more

Thoroughly disappointed tonight. My daughter arrived early and it was pouring rain outside with a cup of coffee in her hand. She was told she had to wait outside because that was their policy. Ordered a "Two for $20" special and was told absolutely no substitutions could be made. The moussaka was awful! We will not return or recommend this restaurant to anyone! read more

Ginos is good but not great. If you go for s specific night to take advantage of their nightly deals its pretty good. Overall a lot of the food is pretty greasy especially the pastas and pizzas. Way too much cheese. The souvlaki is pretty tasty though. read more

Ordered for takeout. The man that took our order failed to hear the "small" tort, and we were charged for a large- ive had this from takeout before and tonight I was very disappointed. The escargot was put together incorrectly (confirmed by someone that cooked in a kitchen) and the quesadilla was a soggy lump... The manager was argumentative and tried brush off the concerns. We were not made aware that the prices had gone up when we made our order either. Manager offered us a credit for the quesadilla (though he didnt sound like he wanted to) - But we will not be back. I had high hopes for Gino's after reading some of the reviews. I placed an order through Just-Eat, and was given an ETA of around 7:10pm. I waited patiently until 7:25pm, at which point I thought maybe I should call and check on the order. Well, good thing I did because the person who answered the phone told me that the delivery guy had been calling me and calling me without any luck and had "rang the doorbell" (spoilers, it's an apartment building, and there is no door bell). I had my phone with me the whole time, and had received a call from another number, so I knew it was on and working, and they definitely hadn't called me. She asked if I wanted them to bring the food back - umm, as opposed to what! I said yes, and she said okay and hung up on me. Very rude. I sat in the lobby this time, to make sure that I didn't miss anything. The delivery guy walked up and was trying to use the buzzer (which doesn't work and I had indicated that on my order), so I poked my head out and asked if he was from Ginos. He handed over my food and left. I get back to my apartment, open up my food and...shocker, there's a dish missing. Call back, get the same girl on the phone who hung up on me earlier, and tell her that there's a dish missing. She asks which one, I tell her the rice pilaf, she says okay she'll send it out and hangs up on me AGAIN. Finally get my full order almost 2 hours after I ordered through Just-Eat. The calamari was cold and limp - not hot and fried - and completely bland. But the saving grace was the Prawn Souvlaki. The prawns were great - super flavourful - and the only reason I gave them 2 stars instead of 1. I will not be ordering from here ever again. read more

wow!!! $7.95 pasta night on Tuesday. the wife and i moved into the area last month. came in for pasta last Tuesday, and it was great! the TVs and sports on with nice music in the back ground. we are going back to try the Roast lamb and watch a Canucks game. read more
