I wish the mini dons were warmer (ideally hot) because all 3 were around room temperature. Flavorwise, they tasted ok and were fairly neutral. We tried to enter Showa only to be redirected to a small take out window which is Ginto Express (To-Go and Delivery only). You can order in advance but we scanned the QR code at the window and ordered quickly through Doordash. We ordered the Nikutama Beef Udon and also the Mini Fried chicken Kara-age Don rice bowl. Wait time was about 15mins. Food was plentiful for the price but so-so quality. The beef in the udon was stringy and fatty. Fried chicken rice bowl was good if you're not too hungry, it's perfect portion sized. Given the lack of Japanese restaurants and Udon locations around here, this is a quick stop to hit the spot! read more

3.75 stars for the baked curry tonkatsu don. I liked the cheese but I didn't care for cornichons in place of the traditional fukujinzuke. I think Curry Hyuga has better curry tonkatsu don. I can think of some places with better curry and others with better katsu. That said, I still think this restaurant is a great addition in the area where Japanese curry is lacking, even if it is a takeout/delivery spot. The attached sit down restaurant, Showa, is a fantastic experience so I hope both sides combined - Ginto and Showa - can keep this venture going. Quick, affordable, and delicious lunch spot that I go to at least twice a month to treat myself. I always order ahead for pickup and theyre really quick with the order. I usually get the curry spicy tan tan don and it has been a favorite for over 2 years now. The pork has a small kick, but the star of the show is the curry. It's not like any of the plain box curry you have. This place is one of the only spots that remind me of curry I had in Japan (other spots being Curry Hyuga and Coco Ichibanya). Since this place is cheap and quick, it'll always be my special monthly treat for lunch. Highly recommend to check this place out. This place is TAKE OUT ONLY! It was a little confusing to find at first, especially with the non-traditional storefront, but the food was worth it! First of all, all the photos online show the bowls with the extra $2.00 rice. Although it's marked, it can be easily overlooked. My friends and I all ordered without the extra rice and found each meal to be quite filling and the ratio of meat/sauce to rice was still great. Came across ginto express when I was browsing for restaurants at a cloud kitchen that also has Project boba. Ginto Express offers japanese comfort food such as curry, udon, donburi bowls, desserts and much more. I love japanese curry, I love katsu and I hellaellaella love cheese. So I had to pick up an order of their Baked curry katsu don to treat myself after a long work week along with some boba from Project. I ordered via yelp, which was a simple and painless transaction. As I was browsing the menu, I ordered items from their daily specials for my fam; curry udon and kitsune udon. Also, I love how they offer mini versions of their udon and rice bowls. I drove to the cloud kitchen (which is located at the end of an industrial building), checked in at the ipad and walked over the guy manning the front desk to ask for my order. The food was ready for pick up on time and came in a temper sealed plastic bag. My baked curry dish was piping in it's tin foil container. It was pretty hefty, too. The udons were packed with the noodles and the soup separated to prevent soggy noodles. My baked curry dish was very delicious and comforting on a cold day. The dish was very filling. I could only eat half the bowl at a time. I wasn't able to sample the udon bowls but my family seemed to enjoy it and finish them off. Overall, good food. I love that they offer daily specials and mini bowls. The items are reasonable priced and the food was well packaged. It's ok. The beef in the gyudon is just not sliced thinly enough, making it too chewy. Gyudon works for the same reason cheesesteak works. If you slice tough meat thinly enough, it makes it tender. But if you don't, these aren't quick cooking cuts and they end up being tough. read more

As a place that's focused on take out/delivery, I wished they would have thought ahead to keep items fresh, warm, and tasty. Ordered their fries and it was soggy and cold when it arrived. I would have expected the packaging box to have some sort of holes to prevent the steam from making the fries soggy. Would not recommend ordering this for delivery.
