Great poke! We recently swung by for a takeout lunch while running errands. Parking is a little tight with the DMV but still plenty. For the price point and quality of ingredients, great option for poke bowls on a hot summer day. They came out quick and the staff was efficient. Couple of things to digest. Sushi was terrible. I know that this area is not good for decent sushi but damn it was gross. Fish was warm, rice was stale, and had no distinct taste between the three rolls I tried. Plain white rice on the side was poor quality. Had to use all the wasabi to try and get any reaction from my tastebuds. Still nothing because the imitation wasabi was extremely weak. We sat in the restaurant to eat and we were not offered plates. Just the to-go boxes. When we asked for a plate we received a dollar store paper plate. So the service wasn't there at all. This place seems like they only cater to delivery services but had multiple tables. For having over 4 stars we expected more. Floors and tables were grimey, lots of gnats flying around our table. Nothing fancy, but a nice little place. I prefer a rare to Medium Rare steak, this was not that; BUT the steak was perfectly cooked and was delicious and smash to chew. Ginza is in a shopping center and not the trendiest area of town, but the food is delicious and affordable, and the service has been great. I've been here as a walk-in, with a call in order, and with an online order. All orders were correct, and the last two were ready when I arrived- quicker than I expected. I'm often nervous ordering online or modifying an item, but that wasn't an issue with Ginza. I love the tuna, salmon, and shrimp poke bowl and the shumai (shrimp dumplings). The poke bowl is a great value with three proteins for only $12, and they don't skimp on portions. I haven't been able to eat a whole poke bowl yet. The shumai are unique, bite-sized dumplings that are tempting on a car ride home. I hope to try the sushi soon, as the three roll combo is a deal at only $13.95. Ginza is a hidden gem in West Ashley. It's located across from the Citadel Mall, which is why I believe it gets overlooked. However, you need to put it on your radar so you can get to experience their great sushi! We always order takeout and they do their own delivering so you don't have to pay any extra fees to third parties. I've never had to wait an absurd amount of time for delivery, even during busy times. The sushi is always fresh and carefully made. I highly recommend the GMC roll!! read more

Y'all. This is it. This is the hibachi I've been searching for. I'm am thanking the hibachi heavens for this place. I had delivery and got the hibachi chicken, shrimp and steak. My friend got the crunch roll, gmc, and the Kani roll. We got house soup to share. First off, the delivery was flawless. Super fast and well bagged with containers. The prices were all pretty decent too. The white sauce is what makes it. You can't truly have hibachi without it. The portion size is huge so you definitely get your bang for your buck. The rice was made well, the veggies are good and the meat isn't sketchy. I'm just so excited that I found this place. An amazing hibachi place with awesome white sauce, awesome sushi and delivery! This was my second time here and was extremely disappointed with the service as well as the food. I called in an order using their website's menu. When I arrive to pick it up, I noticed that their in store menu had significantly different prices. When I asked about it, the guy told me they don't use their website and all the prices are wrong but since he told me the total, I should have known. I'm sorry, but I ordered for multiple people and while the total did sound high, there are taxes involved and he hung up before I could say anything. I informed him that this seems wrong to advertise one price and charge another, and told him I would be back. He said "that's your choice". On top of the poor service, the food was just mediocre. This is a little obscure place in the strip mall near the new DMV offices. Its a well kept secret in the West Ashley area of Charleston. Do not let the area deter you from trying it. This is now my go-to place for Japanese food in West Ashley, and perhaps all of Charleston. I know that they just opened, but my one suggestion is that a sign be installed above their restaurant. If it wasn't for the food pictures on the window at sidewalk level, I may have circled the parking lot or just drove off. (there was a GrubHub vehicle parked in front of those pictures, so I didn't see them until we got much closer). Regardless, I'm SO glad that I found them and went in for dinner last night. I knew right away that I wanted to try the Tuna Poke. The tuna was amazing, but the bowl had a little too much diced onions in it, so in the future I may ask to swap that out with edamame or something similar. The bowl was completely full of food, and I chose to get it with the sushi rice (you can get it with that or salad). My wife got the combination hibachi with steak and chicken. The white sauce that came with it had it's own squirty bottle, so you didn't have to keep going back and forth to fill up little dip cups. Excellent entrée. We also had the firecracker sushi roll, which was cooked to perfection. A little crispy on the outside from the fried panko, with everything on the inside rolled to an amazing and immaculate bite. Last Friday night we decided to try Ginza for the first time. It's a new takeout hibachi and Japanese restaurant. It's brand new renovated inside, was very clean and was empty when we arrived. It's meant more for takeout but if you feel like getting out of the house it's a nice spot to dine in. Quiet and always an open table! The food though is what is worth mentioning, it is absolute fantastic. Delicious, fresh, authentic and CHEAP! They have combination platters for $15 you get hibachi steak, shrimp or chicken plus one sushi roll AND a side like Edamame, dumplings, spring rolls etc. it was so much food for $15 and hibachi is normally $20-$30 alone at a hibachi restaurant. And it's just as delicious if not more so than some fancy hibachi restaurants I've been to. The service was nice, everyone was friendly and the food came out very quickly! It was difficult to find this place, because it's new, and there's no sign out front. Had to drive around the shopping center until I found it. The staff are all very friendly! I started with a house salad. It was nothing special, and kinda watery to be honest. The dressing lacked a little in flavor. I moved on to a couple of sushi rolls. These were the highlight. Absolutely delicious sushi! Full of flavor and very fresh. I finished with a shrimp and steak hibachi. The shrimp were excellent. Large, and nicely cooked. This place has been my go to since Covid hit. Due to working non stop throughout the pandemic and having to be around people in hospitality I have taken extra precautions to protect myself and therefore relied heavily on delivery services. Gonzalo had never disappointed and had always been quick and absolutely delicious! I always order the sushi and they have various deal for various combinations of two or three rolls which is great! Their dynamite roll is easily my favorite! I don't think I could recommend this place enough as they have continued to be consistent the last 19 months since I first discovered them and am grateful for keeping my sushi fix taken care of! Ordered takeout last night, 5 sushi rolls and a avocado salad! I was shocked at how fresh everything was, even after being delivered Grand Oaks. I've been wanting it all day again. I wish we would've take a picture, before we devoured it, but I thought of it too late. I believe I ate here right when they opened.
