    Sushi
    Vasily K.

The absolute height of food in the area and the only Chinese worth getting in WA. It's small, unassuming, and discretly tucked into a strip mall, but it is absolutely worth your time. We had a bunch of sushi rolls, a teriyaki chicken, and a Mongolian beef bowl...multiple times...multiple days...in a row. Each time was perfect and felt better than the last! I loved it so much that I got some for a flight out of Charleston as my in-flight meal. All the food is served in to-go containers, but they could serve this masterpiece in a trash can, and it would still be great. Recommended highly!

Great sushi and great prices! I ordered 3 rolls for $16.95. The 3 rolls I chose were the Doge To The Moon , G.M.C and The Last Sushi Roll. All of them were delicious and fresh! This will be one of our regular sushi go to's! Great priced, fresh sushi with fast friendly service .... you can't beat it!

Sushi was extremely reasonable and came as expected. Got the triple T combo (a specialty tuna roll, spicy tuna roll, and regular tuna roll) and rainbow roll plus a soft drink for $32. Only complaint was the soy sauce was completely diluted and tasted weird. They are offering dine in, no frills, order at the counter and serve everything in takeout containers. The place looked clean but containers felt wasteful..

The guy in the front was super cool. Really good hibachi. I'll be coming back for sure. Alone on the Fourth of July but this place made it a good day!

Due to where it's located, this place doesn't look like much. How it's clean on the inside and they have good customer service. I was starving and had several questions. The lady at the front seemed to not understand English well but she was able to take our order accurately. We ordered the fried spring rolls, hibachi shrimp and the Mongolian beef. The spring rolls come in 3. The only thing I would change about the hibachi shrimp are the seeds sprinkled on top. We didn't care of that. The same seeds was sprinkled on the Mongolian beef as well. The Mongolian beef had a little spice to it. The portions are huge. Each meal can be shared amongst 2 people.

Haven't been in a while got something real quick for dinner tonight. My order wasn't right. I wish I had looked before I left but living so far away and having been here a number of times didn't think I had too. We normally do the Teriyaki Bowl the guy at the register kept saying rice bowl after exchanging that a few times I thought he got what I wanted. Jokes on me he didn't. But it's cool my husband ate it just wasn't super excited because it wasn't what we normally get. And the steak was dry and hard. It's so unfortunate we love this place gonna give them another break before we come back.

first time visiting here and wow I'm impressed! I ordered togo and the staff was incredibly friendly and gave me extra sauce without having to pay because I forgot my credit card. So kind!! I ordered the two roll special, a side of hibachi chicken, and a side of a vegetables. It came with plenty of sauce and the sushi was incredibly fresh and of high-quality. The to go containers of chicken and vegetables were stuffed full. They did not skimp out on the amount of chicken and veggies. I was very shocked at what a great deal it was! To know that I can get such great service as well as food right near my house is awesome stuff. they also allow you to get reward points with each order. Those reward points build and I believe for every 100 reward points, you get $10 off. they also have indoor dining with little booths. So you can go and sit down and eat. The restaurant was very clean. I will be back, and next time, I'll bring friends! thanks for such great service and yummy food.

Food came fast. I ordered the hibachi shrimp. It was very good and a nice helping. I will come back to try the sushi. The place was clean and they had hand sanitizer on every table.

This is a new sushi, hibachi and wok style Asian restaurant located in West Ashley. The decor is no frills with casual dining booths. We ordered the three roll special for 15 dollars and a veggie and steak noodle dish. They have a good selection of sushi rolls most in the 5-15 dollar range. The three for 15 deal is for basic rolls (think Philly, spicy salmon, tuna, veggie) and a few unique options like blue crab and a variation of a rainbow roll. The sushi was substantial and tasty. The noddle dish was tasty too. Everything was served in take out containers. Looking forward to post Covid days of eating on plates with silverware. All and all a good spot for Asian food located across from Krispy Kreme. Worth a visit!

We recently discovered Kanji Sushi and have not gone elsewhere for sushi since it set up shop in West Ashley. Every single roll we have tried has been delicious. I have this weird "ritual" that I do when I try a sushi restaurant for the first time. I ALWAYS order the spicy tuna roll, as it helps me gauge the sushi "roll" (wrapping) quality, freshness, and spice level of the restaurant. It's a simple roll that provides so much intel about the restaurant and its sushi chef. This ritual has never failed me. Here's the verdict. My favorite Kanji sushi roll is actually the spicy tuna. I always switch it up with the other classic or signature rolls, but the spicy tuna is a staple. I order it every single time. I know it's located down the street from Whole Foods and Harris Teeter in West Ashley, and a lot of people grab sushi at grocery stores for convenience, but you are truly missing out. Do not overlook this place. You get way more bang for your buck here than a roll at Whole Foods, and you most certainly get more flavor! I love this place. I'm probably here once or twice a month. I'm so glad they decided to open up in West Ashley!

We sat at the sushi bar, which I highly recommend, and from the moment we sat down it was clear we were in good hands. We were surprised right away with a complimentary amuse‑bouche--crab stick rolled with salmon--which was a thoughtful and delicious touch. To start, I ordered the seaweed salad while Justin went with the ginger salad; both were fresh, balanced, and a perfect lead‑in to the sushi. For the main event, I ordered a spicy tuna roll and eel nigiri, and this is where Zen really shined. The spicy tuna roll was exactly what sushi lovers hope for--very light on rice and heavy on fish, something that's surprisingly hard to find around Charleston. The eel nigiri was rich, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Justin ordered several pieces of sashimi and was equally impressed. We asked about albacore tuna (unfortunately unavailable), but were told the salmon was excellent--and moments later, we were unexpectedly served two additional pieces of sushi each. Completely unexpected and incredibly appreciated, especially for a birthday celebration. Between the quality of the fish, attention to detail, and warm hospitality, Zen Asian Fusion absolutely won us over. We've officially found our new sushi spot and can't wait to come back.

To start we ordered the trio: guac, queso, and salsa + chips and the quesadilla. The Trio was good, about what you'd expect for chips and salsa at most places. The quesadilla was quite good as well. I ordered the Lobster roll (forgot complete name) and the Tsunami roll. Both of my rolls were incredible. They were very nice, 10/10 rolls. The fish was fresh, and the flavors were on point. All of my friends also enjoyed the rolls they ordered. I also ordered the fish collar tacos, which is easily the best bang for your buck on the menu. The plate only costs $14 and it comes with 2 fat fish collars, not sure what species, forgot to ask, if I had to guess I would say grouper or cobia. These collars are beautiful fried and loaded with meat. Additionally the plate comes with some lettuce, cilantro, lime, pineapple pico, sauce, and 3 flour tortillas. If you don't mind getting your hands a little dirty to separate the meat from bone, you will get three very very filled fish tacos and have meat to spare. Needless to say, the fish collar tacos were delicious and very well priced. All in all, I had a good time; the service was phenomenal, drinks were constantly being refilled, and there's really nothing to complain about. Great experience!

Everything I have ordered comes with ample amounts of food and can possibly even be shared depending on one's appetite. I am a frequent flyer here and have even brought my girlfriend to which she has enjoyed. Despite all the good, the ambiance is quite bleak including a never crowded inside and basic design. The bar is hidden away in a parking lot where it is difficult to turn into from the other side of the road because of a barrier so you have to make a u turn up the road a little bit. The place itself is kind of small. I sat at the bar but I'm not sure why but it felt a little off. It didn't feel like a normal sushi bar where I felt like I was able to see the chef prepare the food I'm not sure if there was some kind of height disproportion or if the glass with food was blocking the way. The staff was friendly but there did seem to be some kind of miscommunication between the server and the chef when they were doing hand offs on top of the bar. It might be better to do food handoffs at the open corner to the side so the waitress didnt have to reach high and over customers although maybe it is different when it is busy since I was the only one at the bar. The food itself was delicious although I must admit I can't tell the difference between normal sushi. I would rate this as normal sushi. To put things in perspective bad sushi would have dried out rice or fish that tastes a bit off in a bad way. Amazing sushi would be something that just tastes so different but in a good way. Could be a cute casual date spot or even a friend group meet up spot. Keep in mind the space is limited but it shares the menu and space with Taste of Thai next door. I havent been into Taste of Thai yet so I can't talk about the spacing in there.
