The waitress was very nice and came by quickly. She accommodated me so the tofu wasn't in fish sauce. The appetizers (agedashi tofu and shrimp sunomono salad) came out so fast and both were very good. The sushi rolls also were there in a flash. My veggie roll was just okay. My husband really enjoyed his roll. All in all, very good and would go back if we were on town again or staying longer. read more

Delicious, fresh, interesting sushi. I had chirashi, my husband had an assortment of rolls and individual pieces of sushi and everything was excellent, including the courteous and knowledgeable service. We thought we'd chance it on a Saturday night, without a reservation, and were lucky to be tucked into their last table, sandwiched between the door and the counter. It's a bit dark, noisy and crowded inside, but we'll be smart about it next time and we'll call ahead for a better table. There are also a few little tables outside. This spot is a little bit out of the way for me, but it's worth the drive everytime. Fresh sushi, creative rolls and dishes and a simple atmosphere. If you are lookinging for a Posh sushi bar, this isn't it, but after living in Japan for 6 years, I have found that Ginza satisfies my sushi craving more than the other places that I drive by on the way. We have been frequenting Ginza for a number of years and find the sushi to be excellent and very fresh. I suggest booking a table in advance as it has become very well patronized. Choose from the menu or posted specials or allow the chef to be creative and try something different! The restaurant decor is appealing - it had previously been a Japanese restaurant for finer dining some years ago and Ginza took over the space. Staff are well trained and most have been there a long time and get to know you and your likes should you become a regular. Lunch is a little quieter than dinner and the Bento Box is a great deal! Really really good sushi! I went here with a group of friends and we split the bill on a sushi boat, a side of gyoza, and green tea. All the nigiri sushi was so delicious, and very fresh. I enjoyed the gyoza as well, they serve it on a little hot metal plate with vegetables. The green tea was genami-cha which is a green tea that has brown rice in it. In the past i was never a fan of genmai-cha but at Ginza it actually was quite good. Prices are reasonable, service is great, and also it was very pretty inside. (The bathroom looked pretty cool, not that it matters, but it was nice.) read more

We had just a little a la carte sushi. My wife had the cucumber rolls which she said were great. I had tuna, salmon, and yellowtail sushi. I thought it was really good though it didn't quite have that pop the best sushi has. Beers nice and cold. Service good, atmosphere good--not fancy, but nice and a pleasant place to be. I only suggest going here if you like the cheap "pink" ginger and imitation crab with your sushi. You are much better off going to the several other sushi restaurants in Tucson who serve real ingredients and don't over charge for low quality ingredients. Service was okay, not particularly attentive and not especially helpful. Too many rolls with cream cheese in them, so that limits the selection if you don't like cream cheese in your sushi. Rolls were not cut well, so they would fall apart when we picked them up or tried to separate the pieces, and they were a little heavy on the sauces as well. We just returned from an amazing dinner. Started with 2 tuna Poke salads, great fresh, just amazing. My wife had a glass of New Zealand wine, I had a 330 ML bottle of cold Saki. We ordered the HUGE Sashimi Boat, $50 size every thing was the best, freshest melt in your mouth best. Now we are visiting from Monterey Ca. I had the Heart Attack as an appetizer and the Mixed Yakisoba. Steak was a little overcooked, but shrimp and chicken were wonderful! Noodles were excellent and sauce phenomenal. Ginza Sushi is a small place located in Ventana Plaza off of Kolb road. I went there on a Tuesday for a weekday date night with my husband. There was a decent amount of people there for a Tuesday night. The menu at Ginza is larger than I expected. They have beer, wine, sake, and other cocktails. In addition to the standard rolls and sushi options, Ginza offers specialty rolls and various tapas style plates for sharing. My husband and I split three rolls and the tuna tataki. Everything was delicious! I can be pretty picky about my sushi - especially tuna - and I was pleased with the quality of our fish. I will definitely go back! read more

Nice sushi restaurant tucked away in a corner of a little shopping center. The interior of the restaurant is good and the ambience is equally good. When we first entered the restaurant it took a while to get noticed by the hostess and when she noticed us she was not very friendly. On the other hand, our server was very polite and helpful with the standard sushi questions. The sushi was good, not amazing, but good. They have a wide array of rolls to choose from, we got 4 different Maki rolls and 2 of 4 were really good. The other two were decent, but would definitely not recommend the "Sonoran roll". They did have Sapporo beer on tap which was neat as you do not see that on tap often. Overall I would go back but not before trying some of the other sushi joints in Tucson first. read more

I really enjoy this sushi restaurant. The fish tastes fresh, they have fun specials to try, it's not overly pricey (it's what you would expect from a sushi restaurant), and they offer plenty of non-sushi fare for those who don't want to indulge in raw fish. I've been twice, and it was definitely much busier the second time - which resulted in slow service - but all in all the food was good and you could tell they were just understaffed for the evening.
