After waiting a few months we finally made it over for a late lunch this Thursday afternoon. We made a reservation but when we arrived it was only half full so seating would have been fine anyway. I found a nice room with a pleasant gasthaus feel with nice people all around. Mike was our server and quickly took our drink and food order. The drinks came out fast (I had the pilsner) and they were quickly followed by our two schnitzel plates. It was a lot of food. I had high hopes on the flavor but although the schnitzels didn't offend they were just kinda bland. Even the sauce didn't rock my boat. I finished my plate and was really full but like someone else said earlier here I really thought they could have easily come out of a big commercially prepared bag of schnitzel patties and been dropped in the fryer. But they say they make it there, so.... But, like I said, I finished it so it was ok. I also gotta side of the purple cabbage. It had more of a flavor but more on the candy side then what I was expecting. So, my bonafides are that we lived in Germany four (4) years, went all over the place including the former East. Been everywhere, tried everything. One of my kids and her family currently live in Germany and we get back there now and again. She's even the singer in a German rock 'n' roll band called the Soundwizards. You should check them out. We might come back but won't get the schnitzel. Thinking maybe we try a curry wurst. We'll split it and if we like it we might get another.
The pretzel bites were warm and yummy especially with the mustard. Order the Jager Schnitzel. They have an option for only one instead of the two which standard. The service was wonderful. We had a party of 11 and they handled it well. It gets really just so make sure you have reservations. They have outside seating but right now it is too hot. Really the only negative is it is too noisy, difficult to talk.
I think it's important to note at the start here, this is a new spot, and there are ALWAYS kinks with openings. I got a seat at the bar maybe 5-10 minutes after they opened on a Sunday, and the place was already packed with being fully booked for the day, an amazing thing to see for a new spot. I got a beer and the appetizer platter. The vibe was nice, Germany music was trying to play over the speaker but it was spotting after almost each song, making me wonder if maybe they had a new system they weren't entirely sure how to run yet. The staff was super friendly, checking in on me often and running around starve everyone. It did look like the way the staff was communication with each other that there were bidet roles for the staff that was leading stone confusion. I got my food after a short enough wait where I didn't notice much time going by. Everything on the platter was great. This is somewhere I can see myself stoping in after work for a beer and a snack often. The only thing that really stuck out to me as a negative was the entree prices. And look I understand food prices are constantly increasing and you pay for what you get, I spent a long time managing food costs for restaurants, but even from making food from scratch the costs feel rather high. I haven't seen a 42 dollar entree at a beer garden before today. There is a lot to love about this place and I will defiantly be back. I think after a month or two of service they should be running full speed and I'm excited to have them as a part of the Tucosn food scene.
Got in easy. Limited pricey German menu, but heck I guess the few dishes people know as German works. The brats are the right consistency. The spetzal was okay. The gravy was watery. The dessert was stale but they replaced it. Service was good. If you have to have German style food then this is the place.
This place is excellent despite the opening bugs to work out. Tucson is fortunate to have this restaurant. Shame on City of Tucson for not helping small businesses thrive. A German family sold their home in Germany to open a restaurant in Tucson. They ran into a TON of red tape. It's like the city wanted to kill small business and folks who drove value into the city's economy and culture. I've been in contact with the business for about a year waiting for them to open. The service needs to find its rhythm, but the folks are super gracious. I had the brat plate and it was excellent. I'm glad Tucson showed up and bought all the food they had prepared in a day. Definitely come here if you want German food. I'm excited to see what they will do in the future.
My daughter, husband and I have been awaiting the opening of this establishment. We were not able to get a reservation, but went anyway, knowing that we would have to wait. The hostess was friendly and accommodating. Our 1 hour wait time turned into 10 minutes! This establishment is clean, welcoming, and had an overall friendly feel. Service was fast, friendly, and we even got a bit of history on the bringing of this establishment to Tucson. Our food was, in a word...delicious! My husband's Goulosh was lukewarm. They replaced it with a new serving, and gave us free dessert for the inconvenience. My daughter, who is a Chef, stated that the flavors danced across her palate like a beautiful symphony! We will definitely be back! We enjoyed the excitement of soccer (there are several flat-screens, even on the patio), and can't wait for Octoberfest!
FINALLY made it to Biergarten Tucson! Yassss... I was waiting for all the newness to work itself out before checking this place out and everything seemed to be running smoothly! We had a reservation on Saturday afternoon. The place was crowded so I'm glad I thought ahead. First things first, we were seated at a table for two and greeted by our server right by away and he took our drink orders. I went with the first beer on the list (sorry, it starts with a "B" and that's all I've got) and it was light and refreshing, which was SO welcome considering it is a summer hellscape outside. We started off with a Brezel. Now, if you know me, you know that a good pretzel is my favorite d*mn thing on earth. The pretzel comes with mustard, a cheese spread or both. I couldn't decide so I ordered both. The mustard was FAR superior. I didn't realize that the cheese spread is served cold, so now I know. I ordered the chicken schnitzel with the cream sauce (Rahmachnitzel) and it was so tasty! I thought it might be a bit heavy but it was not! I joined the "Clean Plate Club" in record time. The schnitzel came with spätzle as a side and it was decent. I'm new to German cuisine (this was my maiden voyage) so I wasn't sure what to expect. I can honestly say that no part of my being was disappointed. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and felt welcomed by the staff. Our server was great- he was friendly, funny and very knowledgeable. The establishment is very clean and just has a great vibe. I am very much looking forward to returning!
When in Tucson for a concert, I had this location in my Yelp bookmarks to try as I saw other Yelp friends review and it recently had opened up. My mom's side of the family is from Luxembourg, but I was born and raised in the states. I grew up with my mom making spätzle and other dishes, so I am fond of German restaurants as they do a wider selection than what she'd make. In fairness, she would take me to local German spots for schnitzel and whatnot she didn't always fuss to make. Love that the exterior has a patio and was playing music. A very warm welcoming! When we entered, we were greeted immediately and noticed lots of seating. We came at open and already had a couple waiting before us. Before we left, they easily had another 6-8 tables within that hour of opening. They appear to be successful already in the first few months. For your new business wishing you: Viel Glück! What We Ordered: - Oberdorfer Festbier: My boyfriend really enjoyed this as he likes German beers, or should I say bier? - Aperol Spritz: Finally, an Aperol Spritz made perfectly! I had a terrible one yesterday in Tucson, so this was much needed! - Jäger Schnitzel: My boyfriend said he really enjoyed it, and would get it again. - Rahmschnitzel: I loved I could choose between chicken and pork as I don't care for pork. The sauce was good, but I think I'd go with the Jäger next time as my boyfriend's had a richer flavor. The chicken was moist with good flavor, and love the ability to get a small portion as well. Perfect for a lunch before making the 2 hour drive home. - Schwartzwälder Kirchtorte: There is a local German place by me that makes theirs in house and it TO DIE FOR. I ordered with high hopes, but this tastes more like a store bought cake. Decent cake, but likely skip next time for a strudel as they are listed as house-made. Missed opportunity, but a reason to return! We are talking about making a trip to Biosphere 2, and we said we would absolutely return here. Heck, I even put my phone number in for rewards as I'm sure we will be back. Not often you get a choice to have chicken schnitzel, so I will return! Until next time, auf wiedersehen!
SO busy! Make sure to have a reservation. Since this is a new restaurant, everyone is excited. The hostess informed us they have reservations for the next 4 days. We came on opening day. We made a reservation in advance but still had to wait to be seated. There's no exact waiting area, we stood hovering around the door and tables. When we were sat, our waiter was friendly and had told us that the kitchen "worked out its kinks" this morning. We received our first beers in a decent amount of time but our food took over an hour and we had to ask our server for an update. The XXL pretzel and the beer-bratwurst sandwich was good. We probably had the wurst table because we were close to the front door and had a wall of waiting butts around us. Normally I wouldn't complain but I think we were often overlooked. For opening day, there was live music and cotton candy was being hand out! I loved that. There was also an aperol spritz brand merch party thing happening. The samples seemed to just be little cup tastes of just that but not a mix of prosecco or soda water. It was a little strange of a taster. But I did like the cute free fan! Overall, opening day was a little too chaotic. I'd wait a couple weeks or a month to come back. I like this new German restaurant & bar! I hope they're able to seat guests at their reservation time and serve drink/food in better time. I recommend an enforced experience time slot of how long a groups dining experience should be considering the popularity. Some restaurants practice this such as ones in Phoenix. This could smooth the time process for all guest and staff. The Biergarten could do really well in Tucson! Perhaps after a few more days things can slow down to where it's manageable and fun for everyone to enjoy.
Took the parents for their anniversary. Made a reservation which is a good idea for this busy popular restaurant. The service was friendly and prompt. The food was good. We ordered the appetizer plate with a variety of goodies and sauces and the jager schnitzel. After we shared a streusel and Black Forest cake. Everything was well prepared. My only wish was I'd like to pick and choose the sides and didn't see that option but a minor thing compared to how wonderful everything else was. My mom wanted to hear German Music but we all liked the ambience. Definitely will return

*Open about a month at the time of this review *Lively and busy *A Biergarten in Tucson- how fun! *indoor and outdoor seating (outdoor does get direct sun despite misters and fans) * Tried the Biergarten Plate (sampler) and the Appetizer combo *You definitely get a fair portion when you order the Biergarten Plate and the opportunity to try several menu items. Definitely shareable for 2-3 people. *The appetizer combo is tasty and can be a meal in itself * There are some kinks to be worked out as they are recently opened. But you can tell the management is actively working on this. * I would say, expect some possible long waits either for food or seating (this is a busy restaurant and I expect it will continue to be so) but I think with time, once flow and staffing needs are adjusted, wait times will reduce. * This place has the potential to be a sustaining establishment in Tucson and I look forward to repeated visits.

Nice new German restaurant in Tucson. We lived in Germany for a few years and are always on the look out for a good German restaurant. This one was recommended by a friend who lives in town. The chefs here did study in Germany according to our waiter. The interior is casual, set up like a Biergarten. It's a bright space and they play German music, as they should! A monitor at the back wall shows scenes of Germany. A host/ess will seat you. Some waitresses were wearing dirndl dresses. We ordered the potato pancake appetizer. This light dish, a mix of grated potato, carrot and onion, lightly pan fried makes a good plate to share for two or more and comes with both applesauce and peppered sourcream on the side. They have several types of schnitzle sauces and you can choose a pork or chicken cutlet. They also have classics like Saurbraten and of course, wurst. I ordered several side dishes and they are all authentic to the recipes I remember. German beer is on tap, as well as a full bar. They offer several German desserts and coffee. Parking is in a shared lot and they do have outdoor patio seating by the entrance. The ladies room was out of order during our visit so all guests were using the mens restroom, one at a time. Staff were lovely, although one waitress stopped by our table a couple of times to see if we needed anything, who gave off a weird vibe. (Maybe staff help monitor each others sections and this is normal?). Otherwise it was a very good visit. Our waiter kept a close eye on us, answered all our memu questions and made sure our beverages were kept full. If you enjoy a German beer, or have a hankerin' for some German comfort foods, give this spot a try. Guten appetit! read more
The only reason they got 2 stars was the rouladen was delicious. Everything else was a fail. The waiter while ordering made a comment that we were in our own space and told us to hold on. Clearly he was not listening and had no idea what we discussed previously. We almost got up and left. Knife was dirty, had wipe it. Again. Maybe we should have left. The potato pancakes came out cold and the condiments were in plastic containers. The home made bratwurst were ok. Nothing special. The goulash was horrible. Sauce not great. The meat was dry dry dry. Not edible. We were going to send it back. Instead we took it home to throw out. The spaetzle was terrible not salt. No salt in the water either so it appears. Not good. Flavorless. The bread dumplings. Having made them a number of times. I am not sure what that was. Not soggy. Very very uncooked doughy. Hard to describe. But if you like raw dough maybe this works for you. However not a dumpling. Red cabbage was good and the sauerkraut was nice. We did not finish them. Slow odd service. We were underwhelmed. The bathroom was odd. Needs paint at least paint it the same color. Looked like a botched patchwork to fix other problems. Ugh. read more

Went twice so far, and each time I not only had great food (and beer!) but a good time on top of that. During my first visit I sat at the bar, and the staff was so nice and attentive. The second time I sat at a table and our waiter Kelly, a really fun guy in Bavarian garb, made sure we were well taken care of. The food is quite good, my favorites are the Schnitzel and Spätzle. A plate runs between $20-30, but it gets you plenty of food, and quality on top of that. I've left with a to-go box each time. If you're on a budget there are also cheaper options available such as a Schnitzel sandwich. Lots of great beer to choose from too. This past visit I also got to chat with the owners Silke and Andre, who are just the nicest and most hard working couple. It's not easy to open a new restaurant these days, especially one that is not run off the mill American fast food, but if anybody is listening to customer's feedback and constantly striving to improve, it's them. I live in the Phoenix area, but whenever I'm in Tucson I'll make it a point to stop by Biergarten. read more

The gravy made the dishes for sure. Unfortunately the strudel seems like it was not homemade. Kinda like a pork fritter. The rouladen meat was tasty but dry. The sauce made it good. It was a good experience and the beer was definitely the main attraction. The flavors of banana, clove and caramel. Definitely full bodied and delicious. We sat on the patio at 100deg it was hot and wet. The misters totally soaked those of us sitting close to them. Maybe a visit inside for lunch when the weather is cooler. All in all it was ok. read more

Bulletpoint review for the 3-hour experience...and go! Came here to try the new westside hot spot. Made reservations for 4 via their website. *Food & Drink 4/5 -XX Pretzels - delicious! Crisp on the outside, soft on the inside served with obatzder, mustard, and butter - a must have! -Bienenstich (Beesting cake) - we shared this after the pretzel because we were told that our main course was going to take 45 minutes to arrive at our table because everything is made fresh. If you like a cake that's not super sugary sweet but sweetened with honey and vanilla, this will be your jam. The cake itself has a bread-y texture which was unique for my palette. -Ayinger pilsner. A nice, light beer against the hot weather. Was a little disappointed that there wasn't a Helles lager on the menu. And I get that it's Tucson, but Barrio Brewing? Really? -Biergartenplatte (XXL Sampler Plate). After much anticipation, we got to dig into the schnitzel, Fleischküchle (German meatballs), 3 types of brats, sauerkraut, spaetzle, mashed potatoes, and a cucumber salad. Great flavors. Was a little disappointed that the schnitzel wasn't beef veal, which I make in traditional style. The meatballs were probably my fave. The mushroom gravy is the way to go with the schnitzel. *Atmosphere & Ambiance 4/5 -One of the things that the owners boasted about this place was the absence of pretense. First of all, I can't think of a pretentious German restaurant that I've been to in the U.S. They're usually caricatures of what you'd expect for an American Oktoberfest, not the Old World feel of say Weinstube zur Traube. So I'd say, go ham with the German music, German greetings, a little personality. Blindfolded, I could have been anywhere. It was nice to see the one of the owners engaged with guests. *Service & Value 3/5 -It will take a minute for the staff to get their groove, especially with what seemed like some an inexperienced crew. Host cadence and the turn time need work. We were there for almost 3 hours which included a 1 hour wait on top of our reservation, an hour minimum for food to arrive, and another 45 minutes of European-paced dining. Excessive helicoptering was happening. We had nothing on our table and our server asked us if we were ok. Yeah, just waiting for our waters and beers, we're good. -The world is expensive and so is my time. I definitely want to come back when the hype settles. I don't know that I want to spend 3 hours of my life for my next meal. I just want my reservation to be honored next time. By then, I hope that the service will be competitive, but I will 100% return to try the Cordon Bleu and strudel. read more
I visited Biergarten in Tucson on 6/19 after making a reservation a few days earlier. Before our visit, I spoke with Leah on the phone, and she was an absolute dream, kind, helpful, and welcoming. Her customer service left a great first impression and made us excited to visit. There are several German food lovers in my household, so we were looking forward to trying Biergarten. Despite arriving to find a completely full parking lot and a line out the door, we were seated immediately thanks to our reservation, which was very impressive. Our server came over promptly, took our drink orders, and returned with them quickly. We started with the XXL Pretzel ($12.99), which arrived fast and was served with a ramekin of cheese and another of mustard. The pretzel tasted exactly as expected, warm, soft, and enjoyable. I wasn't brave enough to try either dipping sauce, but the pretzel itself was good. My mom ordered the Schnitzel ($16.99), my son ordered the Sausage Plate ($32.99), and I originally planned to order the Rouladen Stuffed Beef Rolls ($34.99). Unfortunately, I was informed that the Rouladen wasn't available, nor was the Sauerbraten (Sour Roast), along with several beers. I wish we had been informed of these unavailable items when we first sat down, as it would have given me more time to review the menu and choose an alternative. Instead, I quickly settled on the Biergarten Burger ($22.99). There was also some confusion regarding the menu. The printed menu we were handed clearly stated that French fries were included with meals Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. When I asked about substituting the fries, I was told the promotion had ended the previous week. I pointed out that the promotion was still printed on the menu sitting in front of me. It took a little over an hour for our food to arrive. Honestly, this didn't bother us much because the restaurant had just opened and was obviously extremely busy. We understood there would be some growing pains and were willing to be patient. What did disappoint me was the presentation and value of some of the dishes given the prices. The Sausage Plate included three different sausages, mashed potatoes, gravy, and sauerkraut. My son enjoyed one of the sausages but wasn't a fan of the other two. The Schnitzel was served by itself, accompanied only by a small bowl of red onions and cucumber salad. My Biergarten Burger and the cucumber salad ($7.99) were both good, but at nearly $31 combined, I'd hesitate to order them again. To make matters worse, we were told we had to order fries separately for $7.99. We did so, but when our to go boxes were brought out after we paid, the fries still weren't ready. We ended up waiting about another 10 minutes for them before taking everything to go. In the end, our bill came to just over $105 for one appetizer, three lunches, one with a side and one without, and two soft drinks. That's a very expensive lunch, especially considering some menu items were unavailable and portions felt underwhelming for the price. I also noticed that the online menu doesn't list prices, which makes it difficult for customers to know what to expect before visiting. Overall, Biergarten has some positives. Leah was wonderful, our reservation experience was smooth, seating was immediate despite the crowds, and the service itself was friendly and prompt. However, menu availability, outdated printed menu information, pricing, and perceived value left us with mixed feelings. I understand they're newly opened and dealing with heavy demand, so I'm willing to give them some grace. Hopefully, as they settle into operations, some of these issues will improve. read more

The food is as authentic as German food can be in America. The beer is spot on! We had a sample platter to get a good sense of the food. Pork schnitzel reminds me of those I had in Germany. The chicken schnitzel was a little dry but good flavor. The meatballs were delicious. The sausages, we had 3 types, were all good but softer of texture than I remember. The spatzle was good but longer and thinner with less body than the spatzle I remember. The only fail was the seared potatoes, they weren't seared at all. The cucumber salad was excellent but I miss the side greens from Germany. Germany is a big country and while I've been in various areas it's possible the region of cooking here was different and that could explain some of the differences. Service was excellent and very friendly. The seating reminded me more of a fest hall than a restaurant which isn't bad just unexpected. It was a little loud but again not unexpected given the seating. I'll certainly go back and try some other dishes. The gravies both had good flavor but thinner than I'd like. Prices were a little high for some dishes but when you're cooking proper German food in America some ingredients and dishes cost a lot more to make. My excitement for this restaurant to open has been big. My husband made reservations the moment they opened for reservations and we got 6pm Saturday night; day two after their opening date June 5th 2026. I was aware they ran out of food the opening day, since the owner Andre has posted updates on social media asking customers to be patient. We arrived early for our 6 o'clock reservation and had a hard time even checking in since a lot of people with no reservations were blocking the entrance and standing outside just waiting to check on wait times. I know somebody who is working behind the bar and so we checked in and waited by the bar and absorbed the atmosphere. There was live music and a lot of customers. When we were seated, we were at table for 4 and told the hostess that we were happy to have any other party of two sit with us because there were so many people who were walking ins getting told outside only available. There's inside seating with air-conditioning where and live music and there's an outside patio area that has a canvas covering. Walk-ins could be in the outside beer garden area without reservations when I arrived. It took a while for us to get water, and to get our order placed. Our food came out quickly. My husband got the pork schnitzel because they were out of quite a number of dishes by 6 o'clock, and so no chicken schnitzel was left. We ordered pretzel bites, which were fun and freshly made. I got the Rouladen which is a beef rollup/ stuffed with pickles and bacon with a tomato sauce on top served with breadballs; sauté stuffing balls. My food was excellent. I was fully aware before coming that it was going to be very busy and unlikely to have the full menu available, but I was really happy with what I ordered and I liked my food. They had a Jagermeister orange cocktail/spritzer that was refreshing. We sat with another couple who shared the beer garden platter, which had a little bit of everything, and they ordered the extra large pretzel that came with the special dipping sauce as we were just finishing our food and ordered the only dessert left. There was an announcement that there was no more food; they'd completely sold out of everything except for pretzels at 8pm. This was a first for me, to be at a restaurant that announces they're out of food. This morning I learned they sold out of certain varieties of beer also. Wow! As I was leaving I briefly chatted with another Tucson YELP community member, who sadly wasn't able to order any entrees. I'm not a beer drinker and yet every 30 minutes or so the musician was getting the crowd cheering together lifting their glasses. I would love to come back and try their other things soon. I think I'll sit at the bar, and enjoy the frenzy. I loved my food, and the chaos. If you plan on going realize they likely will run out of food by dinner time, get reservations , and enjoy the experience as it was good vibes the two and a half hours I was there. read more

I loved this place. The staff were so kind and friendly. Everyone was wearing smiles. The ambiance was great. The food was awesome and left me wanting to try other menu options. I had the wurstplatte (one word or two, not sure). The mashed potatoes were like velvet. The brown gravy was delicious, not overpowering anything. The perfect accompaniment to both the sausage and potatoes. My favorite sausage was the nürnberger. I subbed cucumber salad which also hit the spot. Great vinegar and dill flavor. We finished off our meal with a slice of heavenly bee sting cake. read more

Made a reservation for 5pm on 6/28. Our table was ready when we got there. We viewed the menu online before arriving so we knew what we wanted prior to being seated. One of the owners took our order she was so sweet. At 5:08pm our food was brought out and was delicious! I had the schnitzel it was a solid 11/10. My husband had the wurstplatte he gave 10/10. The XXL pretzel is a must! While we didn't finish it we did take the rest of it to go. The homemade sauces with it are amazing! Seating is what I would consider a family style seating no different than other German restaurants we have been to. Biergarten is now on our rotation of date night places we will go to. Bier Garden Tucson was outstanding! Everything tasted fresh and clearly homemade. The beer brat sandwich was my favorite. The brat, made with dark beer, was incredibly flavorful, and the caramelized onions were the perfect topping. The bread was soft and fresh, and I'd definitely recommend adding mustard--it takes the sandwich to the next level. The chicken Jägerschnitzel was delicious, with a perfectly crispy coating while staying tender and juicy inside. It was cooked just right. The German potato salad had a wonderful tangy flavor with a great balance of pickle and mustard. It was unique, fresh, and complemented the meal perfectly. To finish, we had the Black Forest cake, and it was amazing. The chocolate cake was soft and moist, with cherry juice throughout. The cherries were plump, juicy, and burst with flavor in every bite--they weren't dry at all. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. One tip: make a reservation if you plan to dine here. The restaurant is very popular, and without a reservation, you'll likely need to sit outside or hope a seat is available at the bar. From start to finish, everything was fresh, homemade, and prepared with care. If you're looking for authentic German food in Tucson, Beer Garden is absolutely worth the visit. I want to start by saying I applaud anyone willing to open a restaurant like this. It's not an easy business, and trying to satisfy everyone's expectations can be a challenge. My wife and I were stationed in Germany for six years, so we've had the opportunity to experience authentic German cuisine firsthand. Like many people, we were excited to hear that our town finally had a German restaurant. The atmosphere had more of a café feel with some Gasthaus-inspired touches. Our bartender/server was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout our visit. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, and it seemed like the owners were trying to maximize seating with the table arrangement. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to our expectations, especially considering the price. We ordered the Zigeuner Schnitzel, Cordon Bleu, cucumber salad, sauerkraut, and a couple of beers. I'd rate the authenticity of the food a 2 out of 5. For the Cordon Bleu, I wasn't asked whether I wanted chicken or pork. Once the meals arrived, the first thing I noticed was the size of the pork. My immediate comment to my wife was, "That doesn't look like $27 worth of pork." We tried to overlook the portion size and focus on the taste, but our first impression turned out to be accurate. Both pork dishes were overcooked and lacked flavor. The schnitzel was dry, and the seasoning was very mild. My wife also mentioned that the Zigeuner sauce didn't taste like what we've experienced in Germany and had a noticeably different flavor profile. The cucumber salad was swimming in vinegar, which overwhelmed the rest of the dish. The sauerkraut was okay, not authentic, definetly cannned or jarred, but it wasn't enough to make up for the entrées. The beer selection was decent. I did notice it was served a little warmer than what most restaurants in the U.S. typically serve. Since beer in Germany is often served at cellar temperature rather than ice cold, that didn't bother me. Our bill came to just over $100 for two people, and we both ordered the small portions. To their credit, they weren't kidding when they called them "small!" I genuinely hope the owners continue reading customer reviews, not as criticism, but as constructive feedback. There is clearly a demand for an authentic German restaurant in this town, and I think many of us want to see them succeed. With some adjustments to the recipes, preparation, and overall value, I believe this restaurant has the potential to become a favorite in the community. read more
