We didn't want over order so we just got the house Italian salad and a personal sized Margherita pizza. Our server was great very pleasant very accommodating always coming over and checking in on us. He also set the expectation that it would be about 30 minutes for the pizza to take so I did appreciate that. The pizza was delicious. Everything we ate was just enough. I wouldn't say it wasn't the best pizza I've ever had, but it was good. The fact that it took 30 minutes to make two pizzas was a little interesting. I came, I saw, I'm not sure I would come back. I really enjoyed the high ceilings, exposed brick, and colorful signs throughout. Friendly and attentive service from José. The food was just okay. My tavern style pizza was good, but not great. It felt like there was an extra layer of flour or something underneath, on the back side of the crust. It was a slightly odd texture when eating and kind of threw me off. My mojito was good. My friend thought his chicken Parmesan was decent. Overall, the food was solid. We just weren't super impressed like we were expecting after all the positive things we've heard. I've been eating here since this location opened. I've been eating Giordano's pizza for over 45 years. Our waiter was Chris His service was fine. He was very pleasant. I have no complaints about him. My son and I came in we were sat right away. He ordered a frozen lemonade drink that came out that was delicious, it looked good and you could taste the alcohol. I ordered a Coke. We ordered 1 medium deep dish pizza with mushroom and spinach and extra cheese. When the pizza came out, it wasn't presented by the server. It was presented by the guy who turned out to be the supervisor of the Restaurant. It wasn't in the pan. It was on a thin pizza tray, and it was Pre cut and they forgot the extra cheese. the presentation looked awful (check photos) and all the years I've been eating deep dish, pizza, and every deep dish pizzeria (Giordano's, Lou Malnati's, Eduardo's, Unos, Due, They never do that. It's presented in a pan and they cut the pizza in front of you!!. For a medium pizza it should be 6 Hardy slices. They gave me 8 small pathetic slices and there was no extra cheese.. and it wasn't hot. It was warm. So who knows how long it was sitting before it was served to us! The waiter said that as long as he's worked there for the last year, they always pre-cut the pizza. It doesn't make any sense to me. It gets cold fast and it doesn't hold together because it's supposed to be in a pan. Also, the restaurant wasn't that busy why couldn't it be that they ask the guest Would you like us to pre-cut your pizza or would you like it in the pan?? 10 minutes later that supervisor comes to my table already on the defense and Says "I hear there's an issue" well with that My reply was I've already talked to the waiter, but I'll put everything in my review. My son then ordered a Mojito and I don't drink hard liquor. But You could barely taste any alcohol. It tasted like seltzer water with a hint of lime and a hint of alcohol. It wasn't worth a $15 price tag on any stretch of the imagination. I'm assuming they were mad at us because we weren't happy with our meal. The first drink was stronger and could definitely taste the alcohol. Then A guy walked by who I knew worked there. I asked him if I could please have a box. His reply was "well that's something you need to ask your waiter" as he was walking away. Oh, and then when we left, nobody even said good night, thank you for coming Nothing! they just looked at us walking out! WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THIS PLACE??? So 2 drinks 1 Coke 1 medium pizza that was warm and not hot was $75 not including tax and tip. They have a lunch special til 3pm daily of a 6" personal with fries or salad or something. $10.99. My 12 year old got it. The two pizza we built were all over the place so I want try to explain. The atmosphere was very much like an All American style restaurant. Loud, lots of people chatting, TVs and a bar. Oh we got Mozzarella triangles. Tasty. Had to be real mozzarella. They were good. Garlic Parmesan fries were good. Initially was gonna go with mid but nah they hit. Fries came out quick. Well before the pizza. Our pizzas were all deep dish Chicago style joints. I was really looking forward to trying Giordano's, but unfortunately the customer service completely overshadowed what was otherwise a good meal. We ordered a pizza and, after waiting an hour, asked our server for an estimated time on our food. She said she would check, but instead of coming back with an update, she sent the manager over. The manager told us they had just received a large order of about 40 pizzas, so the kitchen was backed up. That was the entire conversation. There was no apology for the delay, no acknowledgment of the inconvenience, and no offer to bring us anything while we waited. A few minutes later, our server came back and asked, "Did my manager tell you about the wait?" I said yes, and she replied, "Yeah, we didn't know about the order, it was last minute." Again, there was no apology, no offer to refill our water, no suggestion of an appetizer or anything to make the wait more enjoyable. Nothing. The entire experience gave me the impression that online and phone orders are prioritized over customers who are actually dining in. We were there at 1:00 pm on a Wednesday. The restaurant wasn't crowded, yet we still waited an hour and a half for our pizzas. To be fair, the pizza was great once it finally arrived. The food definitely lived up to the reputation. However, great food doesn't excuse poor customer service. Communication, empathy, and simple gestures of hospitality go a long way, and those were missing throughout our visit. When customers are spending that much time waiting, the least they should receive is an apology, updates, refills, or even someone checking in to acknowledge the inconvenience. Unfortunately, none of that happened. The quality of the pizza was excellent, but the quality of the service was unacceptable from start to finish. The experience simply wasn't worth the hassle. The next time I'm in Chicago, I'll be doing more research on other pizza spots before deciding where to spend my time and money. read more

The restaurant was very busy and lively. We were seated and immediately took in the atmosphere. The chefs were preparing the pizza dough like in a movie. Our waiter definitely had a New Yorker accent although he stated he never been to New York before. Now onto the Pizza: We ordered the deep dish pizza along with wings and salad. I'm in love. Absolutely incredible deep dish pizza and even better service. We were staying at a hotel just down the street and originally ordered the pizza for pickup. But the moment we walked into the restaurant, the smell alone made the decision for us so we had to eat it right then and there. The staff didn't miss a beat. They happily unpackaged our order, plated it, and made us feel completely welcome to dine in on the spot. The deep dish was everything you want it to be: rich, cheesy, perfectly baked, and worth every minute of the wait. The crunch was great, but the oven burnt part of the pizza to the point the crust was black. The views of the city from the windows are gorgeous. Giordano's pizza has more cheese than other pizzas that I have eaten. Despite the cheese being loaded up, the pizza has good flavor and is not overly salty. The pasta with the spicy sausage chunks was extra delicious this visit and I went back for more! The desserts are standard--brownies and chocolate chip cookies--and a nice treat after the savory entrees, but not something I would go out of my way for. Even the tomato sauce was thick. The crust was soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The balance of the peppers, onions, and pepperoni was delicious. The onions and peppers were soft. The stuffed pizza just oozed with cheese. I was only able to put down two slices, and I was full. The 10" stuffed pizza was perfect for two. I feel like I don't even know where to start with Giordano's. I have loved the spinach and mushroom stuffed pizza since the first time I had one in the early 1980s. This one did not disappoint. We arrived at Giordano's off of Michigan avenue at lunch and decided to order our favorite pizza. We had a great server who kept our drinks refilled while we waited patiently for our stuffed pizza. If you haven't ordered a stuffed pizza before, there is quite a long wait for one. I don't recommend ordering appetizers because when your pizza arrives you want to be hungry. You will want to eat it all. Don't eat before your pizza arrives. Our pizza arrived finally. It looked fantastic! We dove right into the epic cheesiness that is Giordano's Pizza and chowed down. Didn't take very long for us to finish our small pizza and become massively bloated from the cheese. OMG Pizza! It wasn't until agter we ordered that we were informed, it may take 45 min for the pizza (and it did). We ordered the Giordano's sampler and a Caesar salad to hold us over. Both were decent. When the pizzas finally came, the 10inch was much better than the personal. The spinach tasted fresh, it was sliced and a crispy crusy, but pillowy dough. The personal pizza was the opposite. It wasn't burnt, but it was crunch throughout. It reminding me of the crust of a pot pie, rather than pizza. The best part of the visit was the service which was especially important given that a couple people ordered Chicago Classic deep dish pizza, which we were told would take at least 45 minutes to cook. While we waited, we had the Giordano's sampler and it had a nice variety of options on it. Our group had the Chicago Classic deep dish, a thin crust pizza, and I had the country style rigatoni. Both of the pizzas were decent, but my rigatoni was super bland. It was cute that they came around to take pictures at your table, but then they push pretty hard while you are eating for you to buy said pictures (one pic for $20, two for $30). Would we go back? When you come in you have to put your name and number on the waitlist and they said it would be about a 30 minute wait for the table (super accurate). Then you order your pizza right away before getting seated because the pizza takes about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes (super accurate timing as well). The place has two stories so really big and lots of seating. I wish I could have customized their specialty pizzas but they didn't allow that unless you did a build your own, which was about $10-15 more depending on the toppings you get. This was my first time getting a deep dish pizza so I didn't know what to expect. I do love cheese so that was a bonus in itself already.
