Went today with group from work - 8 of us. Service was very good. The problem was the was pizza. Stuffed cheese and sausage was very light on sausage - I was hard pressed to find a piece - and not exactly hot in the middle. A meat pizza was missing the bacon. I can't believe I'm giving Giordano's, a classic, 3 stars! But I am. They actually deserve 2 stars for this specific visit but I'm rounding to 3 since my other visits here were better. We've had their deep dish pizza countless times, it's always been delicious. This time the crust (usually my favorite part) was incredibly salty. Just putting my lips to it tasted like licking the side of a salted margarita glass. My husband noted that his first slice wasn't salty but found his second crust so salty that he couldn't eat it. Very weird. The cheese and bottom of the pizza was delicious, as was the mozzarella sticks (triangles). The calamari was $10 (a standard price) but nearly 1/3 of the plate was deep fried lemons. I usually live by the mantra that anything tastes good breaded and deep fried. Lemons, apparently, are the exception. They were inedible. The actual calamari was good though. They were out of crayons for the kiddies which was a bummer as they always look forward to coloring while waiting for the pizza. read more

Ill "cut" to the chase. Horrible service (sat in booth for 18 mins after hostess sat us and finally had to walk almost into the kitchen to find someone to take our . Hmmm.....paying customers you should help them / there good for your business. Over another hour later our pizza showed / medicore at best. What a true disappointment as people talked up this place. I do not share the "best of" anywhere at this place. Our waitress was a disaster :// (where is training and managment to help her learn?) Final answer....go somewhere else ....actually "run" somewhere else your missing nothing but frozen hard ravioli apps and pizza as good as a stuffed unos from the store. Terrible pizza. Arrived two hours late and tasted like cardboard. I called and complained to the manager. He offered me a free pizza in the future. I said I will never eat another pizza from here and I want a refund. After arguing for five minutes he said he would refund the charge on my card. This was a month ago and my card was never refunded. Had Giordano's from many other locations and love it. I recently moved to DG and began ordering from this location.. They are 0-3.. 1st time ordered the bottom of the pizza was under cooked. Next time ordered well done to avoid that problem and the the sauce was completely dried out. 3rd time uncooked and soggy bottom.. I'm done with this location, if you want Giordano's try a different location. read more

The staff at this location is amazing! Took our students here for a field trip lunch (and have been for years) and were all treated with the utmost respect and kindness. Of course, the pizza is always delicious! Shout out to Chris, manager, who always handles our outings and does a great job. We teachers were even told to sit down and relax while they served our kiddos!!! Love this place! read more

Giordano's pizza is the BEST but what makes this restaurant stand above the rest is Chris. He is so friendly, accommodating, attentive and just a downright nice person. This restaurant has become a meeting place for some friends and I and we look forward to Chris and his amazing personality. We may sometimes sit a little longer than most and that never bothers Chris. He is constantly checking in with us, making sure our drinks are filled, asking if he can get anything for us and never, ever rushes us. In my opinion, Chris goes out of his way to make our experience pleasant and relaxing each time and by watching him I can see he is like that with all customers. Chris is the server that you want anytime you eat out because he makes it such a great experience and Giordano's in Downers Grove has that gem!!!!Thanks to Chris!! read more

Ordered online for delivery, website said 90-100 minute wait. That's fine, we ordered early enough that it wouldn't be too late. Order finally shows up 2 hours later. Cheese curds are mostly burnt and the deep dish stuffed pizza is the same thickness as the thin crust pizza. There's next to no cheese in it, it's cold and the crust is soggy like it's been sitting out for a while. We eat it anyway because now it's well past 8pm and there aren't many alternatives. We should have just thrown it all in the trash because I've been dealing with stomach issues now since overnight. read more

Giordano's pizza is evidently one of the best pizza parlors in the entire Chicagoland area. Some great deep dish Chicago-style pizza. The food takes a little while to come out, but it's worth it, as both first-day and second-day leftovers still taste amazing. The beer and wine selections were 'parfait', as was the pizza and choice of toppings. The customer service is especially good, and the waitress catered to our every need. The chef is obviously very well skilled. His salad was in prime condition with no sad-looking leeks that Montana's pizza parlors provide. I was on a business trip to Montana and decided to get some pizza; that was 0/10 and Giordano's is 10/10 compared to it. The croutons in the salad were supreme, and the overall atmosphere was palpable. No truculent waiters. Well done Giordano's!!! read more

Pizza was uncut I never ordered it uncut it was luke warm if they can't deliver to a place and can't get there hot, then they shouldn't take the order but I guess it's all about the dollars. Half the pizza was so over salted my guest couldn't even eat it. They had a free wing special if you purchase a large pizza. The wings were average at best. Having a small children it is very hard to balance household chores and work that is why we very often use Giordano's for a pizza delivery. The pizza itself is delicious. It is very well prepared and spiced up. Our favorites are plain pepperoni or sausage, but we ordered different ones and we were pleased with them as well. Yes, the pizza is hot (arrives to your house hot as well), it's supposed to be. I rather have it being hot than cold that is why I don't understand people who complain about burning their mouths. As for the delivery itself we only had to call once to ask where the delivery man was, other times it arrived within the time period they told us it would. This place is great! I have been in the restaurant itself a couple of times and I can only say that the staff is very, very nice even though it's younger people, they try the hardest they can and that should be appreciated. This was my first Chicago Deep Dish experience but was disappointed. Pizza was ok but I was expecting something better. The appetizers we got all seemed like they came straight out of the freezer into the deep fryer. My colleague asked for a caprese salad but they told us they ran out of fresh mozzerella. What kind of true italian pizza joint runs out of fresh mozzerella? I'm not writing off all Chicago Deep Dish, but I don't think the pizza here is a good representation of this iconic food for Chicago. read more

I'm ordering lunch for business meetings and events nearly every day. I typically give my out-of-town clients the "Chicago Pizza" experience one day during the week. Giordano's doesn't disappoint - Chris takes my order reminds me if I forget to think of salad or dessert. The pizza always arrives on time, hot, and with all the serving utensils, plates. We recently moved to Downers Grove and were very happy to learn the location was very nearby. We ordered several times from your location hoping the 'next time' would be a hot pizza instead of lukewarm (nearly cold) and very dry to say the least. Your pizza is very expensive to begin with and the service should match. I too am a business owner and know the value a business brings to its customers. We've ordered from Angelos and they deliver hot pizza but I've been used to Giordanos. Needless to say we are very disappointed. We leave 9 blocks away and received a cold pizza. The pizza was good, the wings were delicious and crispy. I had the classic pizza which had the pepperoni, mushrooms and green peppers.

Have had good experiences here. Took my nephew and his girlfriend here for a taste of authentic deep dish. Had a great server. Served the kids quickly And was very attentive. Talkative and funny, but not over the top. They have a nice selection of tap beer, which is always good. I don't love deep dish, but Giordano's does a good job of it. Amazing , fresh, tasted just the way I was craving for a while. The melting cheese just would not end cuz I kept stretching and stretching but man it tasted delicious. If I could give 6 stars I would My family of 5 and I came in for a dinner on a busy Friday night. Actually, to tell you the truth we were trying to have dinner at another restaurant down the road but we were rudely put on a wait and were waiting for double the amount of time that we were told. After this we were all in a bad mood and decided to sit down for pizza. When we walked in we experienced a lively environment and greeted by a lovely gentlemen named Christopher. We told him about our unfortunate wait at the other restaurant and he, very kindly, told us that there was a 20 minute wait. He then got us waters and carried a wonderful conversation out with us until we were able to grab a table (in under 20 minutes). The rest of our meal was very pleasant. The pizza was absolutely wonderful and so was our server. This establishment is underrated. My family and I will most definitely be back! read more

It does take a long time to get your pizza; we called 20 minutes ahead to pre-order and it still took 45 minutes after we got there.
