We ordered an EXTRA THIN pizza, so it shouldn't have taken over 1 hour & 40 minutes for it to be delivered! And we only live 2.5 miles away. A 3-item pizza was almost $30, including a $2.50 delivery fee and then a tip on top of all of this. The only way the rating wasn't a 1-star one is that we think that IF the pizza would have been served HOT, it probably would have tasted pretty good. And as far as "extra thin", well let's just say they have a strange idea of what "extra" means. We will NOT be ordering from there again. Having recently eaten at Giordano's for the first time, I had an absolutely wonderful experience. Never having eaten Chicago style pizza before as a native New Yorker, I was very apprehensive to go outside of my comfort zone, but my server Kyle, walked me through and got me through the night in one piece. All of the items I ordered came out promptly, even though there was a little bit of a wait for the pizza ...but what pizzeria has every style of pizza you want ready the second you order it? I would prefer to have a bit of a wait to know that what I ordered was done properly. We ordered bruschetta and bread was really soggy and they put bbq sauce on top for some reason which made it taste odd. Our dinner was excellent though. I got ckn parm dinner and hubby got meatball sandwich. Waiter wasn't anything to brag about, he seemed more worried about mingling at bar than waiting on us. I put a to go order in when we ordered our food and then he brought check and we noticed he hadn't put to go order on. He had forgotten. This is my 1st review. I usually don't write reviews, but this experience was very frustrating. On October 1st? I ordered Giordanos flat pizza, a deep dish and some calamari. The flat pizza was OK. The deep dish was horrible. It was supposed to come with BBQ chicken, double mushrooms. I could find any chicken in it, and there were a couple of mushrooms in the whole pizza! There were black olives everywhere, too many of them. i think they confused orders. It's a shame. The calamari came with deep fried pieces of lemon. I have never seen stuff like that? Are they too busy or trying to save money? I felt embarrassed in front of my guests. Never again Giordanos!! Shame on you. read more

I went here on a summer day with my grandparents. We were instantly seated and were very happy. I ordered a cheese pizza. My grandparents ordered the Italian Beef with peppers. My pizza came very fast and was hot and delicious. It took about an hour for my grandparents' beef to come. It was cold and tough when they got it. They asked for a refund and the teenage girl said there was nothing they could do. They asked for the manager and she ran off. Yesterday, after we discovered that Angelo's isn't open on Mondays, my wife ordered from Giordano's for carry-out. The person taking the order said that it would be ready at 5:00. I walked in at 5:00, said I was picking up, and paid for the order. Then, the cashier said it would be another 6 minutes. I had two thin crust pizzas and a stuffed pizza. There were only a couple of tables with customers, but it appeared that there was a steady stream of customers picking up. A few minutes later, another customer came in for pick-up. She was told that it would be another 10 minutes. She left to run an errand. Around 5:15, the manager walked up to me and said that there had been a "mishap" with the stuffed pizza. They were remaking the stuffed pizza as a thin crust, and that the entire order would be free. Finally, at 5:32, the manager handed me the pizzas and asked for my name and number, so that the next order would also be free. That's great that the manager was willing to comp. this visit and the next, but that still doesn't remedy the fact that I had to stand around for 30 minutes, while my wife and kid were parked in the car, and that we were late meeting other people for dinner. Frankly, the pizza was ok, but not as good as pizza from other places in Downers Grove, both local and chains. So, despite the fact that there is a free order in the system, I'm just not at all inclined to try Giordano's again. read more

I love giordano's but I am continually disappointed by this location. It's so frustrating. The biggest issue is this location's deep dish is soggier than other locations. Also angry that giordano's got rid of express lunch pizzas so I can't get a quick pizza there during my lunch break. Apparently that's from corporate. But I wish this location had told me there weren't express pizzas before I waited 50 min for my pizza then had to scarf it down in 5 min. read more

Best pizza ever!!!!!!! And the customer service is great! I ordered for pick up and the pizza was handed to be very hot and when it got to my house it tasted as if it was out of the oven. Big disappointment. Ordered large THIN crust for take out. Arrived to pick up and they hadn't even made it yet. Miscommunication they said, thought the pickup time was the time they were supposed to it in the oven. OK, mistakes happen. I ran a few errands and came back, still wasn't done. Server who took the order very nice and apologetic. Finally got the pizza and ran out the door. Family is waiting and hungry. Get home to find out they gave me a deep dish pizza. OK, we'll just eat it....NOT! It was soggy. It was under baked, nothing more disgusting than raw bread dough. It was not edible. Just a glop of messiness on cardboard. expensive too. I am at Giordano's in Downers Grove, IL, as I write this. The Chopped Salad was amazing, the Chicago Stuffed Pizza was great, but what made our experience really fun was our server, Christopher. He is a great server and anticipated our needs before we even asked for different things. We will come back and ask for him and his charming, fun personality. The only downside to this Giordano is the parking and it is not a standalone Giordano's with a parking lot. Regardless, it was definitely worth the trip! read more

Preordered a pizza for delivery on Valentine's Day the morning of to be delivered at 7 pm that night. Never showed up. Had to call and at first they told me it hadn't gone out yet even though it was 7:45. I spoke to a manager who had the audacity to tell me that I ordered it for take out and they couldn't comp me because it was my fault. I had the email right in front of me saying it was for delivery and I had a delivery charge on my card. They delivered me the pizza at 9:30 with no apologies or refund and the receipt said DELIVERY scheduled at 7 pm online order and another receipt saying "takeout" at 7:37 pm which is when I called. So the manager had changed it in the system after I talked to him! Who does that it is so bazaar! I still have both receipts. It's one thing it was so late but to make the costumer feel like it's their fault and have no remorse whatsoever is ridiculous. Manager there does not take responsibility and is seriously shady. We really like Giordano's pizza and we have been to this location many times, but we have had too many instances of bad service and yesterday took the cake! We stopped in for lunch with our three kids. The restaurant was not at all busy. We ordered thin crust pizza and pasta - easy enough. First, from start to finish our meal took an hour and a half - way too long - due to slow service. Second, we asked for easy cheese & the pizza came out with more cheese on it than ever. When we asked the waitress about it she said she told the kitchen easy cheese and they must have messed it up, but when we got our bill, there was no "easy cheese" on the ticket. She half-heartedly offered to have it remade but at this stage, the kids were antsy due to our food already taking too long, so there was no way we could wait another 20 minutes. Third, our bill came and she forget to charge us for our drinks. My husband brought it to her attention, she reprinted the check and didn't even say thank you for his honesty. She also didn't offer to take anything off for the obnoxious cheesy pizza. It was just a bad experience in every regard and I think it was the nail in the coffin for us - we won't be coming back to this location :( read more

I love Giordano's. Have for years. But I'm done with the restaurant in Downers Grove. I've had take-out orders get screwed up too many times to count either by pizza that was boxed up with all the ingredients on one side, undercooked pizza (I see others have had the same problem) to actually having a pizza sent out with a delivery person to a different place when we were supposed to be picking it up. The final straw came last week when my family ate in the restaurant. The waiter was flat out rude. He never checked on our drinks, I finally had to go searching for him. Then when our half cheese/ half sausage arrived it had only a few pieces of sausage on it. In fact, the two slices I had only had one piece of sausage. When I told the waiter, he said, it was because the pizza ingredients slip around. Never heard that one before. Then when I told him in most cases when I get deep dish, the waiter points out which side is which and even serves up the first piece. His comment: "I must have missed that one." I gave up trying to convince him that they were stingy with the sausage. I am not one to post bad reviews. I reached out to Giordano's first and got a response saying they would call me. I never heard from them. So much for trying to right a wrong. And please don't respond with a message saying you would like to talk with me, too late for that. So here's your review. Take my advice, try Nancy's, Pisano's, Connie's, Home Run Inn even Pizza Hut. But don't go to this Giordano's. read more

TERRIBLE. The Manager DOUG is horrible. We ordered a pizza and when we got it home found that half of it wasn't cooked. We called to complain and the manager had us bring the pizza back in for him to inspect. He told us that we handled the pizza wrong, that it was our fault the pizza was soupy and leaking all over the place. DO NOT GO TO THIS GIORDANO'S!!!!! I have to say that this is the best food I have had in a while! I ate their chicken parmesan sandwich yesterday and it was FABULOUS! Their stuffed pizza is also excellent. Let me start by saying we have ordered from here before and it has NEVER been as bad as it was tonight. First, our pizza was 30 minutes later than we were told. When I called back, the man who answered offered to call the driver, who showed up seconds after we finished talking, and seemed annoyed.. didn't apologize or offer any explanation. (I should also mention we live at most, 10 minutes away from this location.) Moving onto the food... HORRIBLE! We ordered toasted ravioli which were cold, soggy, yet also hard as a rock to rip apart. We also ordered a special stuffed pizza. The first bite tasted off, peel back the cheese, and there were dark, dark onions and green peppers (not normal as told by the color of the onions and green peppers on top) and there were black spots everywhere.. the cheese, veggies, and crust were burnt underneath the top layer.. so disappointed.. Giordanos is one of my favorite restruants. I love all of there food. There pizza is absoultly exquisite. I recomend if you are not going to get pizza that you should try the chicken parm sandwich. In town for business and used Yelp. The overall place gets tons of reviews so I had to try one near me. A small is more than enough for at least 3-4 people. We ate at Giordanos in Downers Grove and will not be back. The Original order we placed was made incorrectly and we had to wait an additional 45 minutes to get the correct order. After we were advised they made the wrong pizza, the waitress did not return to our table until we flagged her down to ask where our pizza was. Dishes were piled up on our table drinks were empty. We ended up spending a total of 2 hours in the restaurant. It seemed like the employees did not really care that they screwed up and felt that we could just wait. I went here on Monday afternoon with my mom and younger cousin. It was around 12:30 but not super busy. We ordered various items from the menu, and each of our meals came with an appetizer. They ordered sodas, and I ordered water. After waiting more than half an hour for our appetizers (salads and soup) and without being offered any refills, we inquired about the reason for the long wait. We've ordered online from here multiple times before. We usually get the deep dish pizza and it's usually really good. We once ordered a thin crust and it was not done enough. We decided to give it a try again but to emphasize that we want the cheese BROWNED throughout and to go light on the cheese. We also ordered a caesar salad and piece of chocolate cake that was described online as "a slice of heaven served with ICE CREAM". Well, when we got everything, the pizza was so underdone again. The worst part, though, is that we paid $6.95 for was the smallest piece of cake I had every seen with NO ICE CREAM. I could have made an entire cake AND bought a pint of ice cream for the same price! I looked at the physical menu that was stapled to the box and they describe their chocolate cake as "served with Ghirardelli sauce", which it also didn't have. We paid full price for less than half a dessert. They clearly don't read directions that the customer requests and their menus are inconsistent. Don't think we'll be going back soon. read more
