First time trying this deep dish and don't know what to expect. I got the meat to meat because I'm lactose intolerant and boy it didn't disappoint. I I didn't know what to expect for $41 but I was pleasantly surprised. They made sure to not add any dairy in the dough or the topping and it really thick for the price. 2 layers happiness, one for the crust, then meat, then dough again then sauce and more meat. Having become less thrilled over the past year with the taste and quality of Lou Malnati's we are venturing out to find a quality replacement for our spinach deep dish pizza, well done and uncut. Now it's no replacement for Pequod's, it fair matched with our favorite pizza, almost. We like a crispy crust and although it was ordered and ticketed as 'well done' it was not. By our standard, not burned but CHRISP not completely soft. So one more try, at double well done. I hate to warm an oven to finish cooking a pizza on the stone as that's what I'm pay for. I don't believe that cheese makes the pizza. It's the sauce. So I order all my pizzas with extra sauce, easy cheese--because oftentimes it's just too much cheese. I've ordered twice now from this location, but they are unable to accommodate the request for easy cheese. I raised this with the guy at the counter and he apologized... and that was the end of it. They also charge a surcharge which I noticed via email after the fact. Both pizzas I ordered were thin crust. The pizza is mediocre at best. The cheese is like a contiguous layer of cheese, like a sheet, peeling off strangely. It has a rubber-like texture. It's gross. I won't be ordering from them again. read more

Having moved away from Chicago over 10 years ago, during my recent visit, I was very eager to eat some deep dish pizza from Giordano's. Even when I had choices back then, I had always preferred Giordano's over other chains. The deep dish pizza places outside Chicago hadn't hit the mark for me. I forgot how big the large deep dish was. When I picked it up, I realized I'd better start working out because the pizza was heavy. It seemed to weigh about 20 lbs. I ordered the large Special (sausage, mushroom, peppers and onions) for four people. After doing the best we could, we still had a third left over. The pizza took about 40 mins for takeout and it was ready on time. The only complaint I have is the pizza was fairly wet on the bottom and the crust wasn't browned enough. We had Giordano's delivered to our hotel on a Saturday night. They came in the time slot they told us and everything was hot and fresh. They did include plates and forks but not quite enough. We ordered deep dish with sausage and pepperoni. The pizza was so cheesy and delicious. My only complaint is that prices are pretty steep. It cost us $50 for a large pizza and a $5 kids meal. Went there to order a deep dish pizza! We got a large- cheese, sausage, and pepperoni. It was excellent! The crust is like pie crust- buttery and so good! If you like cheese this is the perfect place for you! They do have some seats there so you can go and eat there if you want. Promised delivery time was from 7:05 to 7:15 It arrived at 8 pm cold with ranch dressing. My first call they explained they were busy so how is that my problem? STAFF UP! After several calls they stopped answering the phone. After my 4th call asked to speak to a person that offered me 1/2 off my next order. Now why would anyone find that acceptable? Our salad was family style which was great for our party of 9 . We ordered 2 pizzas which were plenty for all of us! One slice maybe 2 per person is more than enough! Never have I had a baked, deep pizza like this before. New to the area, and since all these reviews were mostly good I thought I would come here and I'm glad I did. When I got here, the people at the front were really nice and were able to sit us real quick. They did a good job at getting our drinks to our table, making sure everything was going well, and it took a little over 30 minutes for us to get out pizza but the stuff was baked so that can be understood. The ingredients in the pizza were on the bottom, with the sauce being on top. It was baked in a unique way that made this pizza like something I've never had before.
