This is the 4th time I have had Giordano's pizza in Willowbrook. Barely warm dry, with burned edges, & that was at the empty restaurant. Meh.. First delivery, the driver got lost. He delivered ice-cold pizza, shrugged his shoulders & left. Management basically said "Tough". I was stunned but that was years ago. We continue to try ordering & visiting every now & again, with the hopes of improvement, but to no avail. However, management & staff have changed for the better. Food 2 stars We repeatedly order Giordano's pizza from the Chicago location, when in town. It's always delicious & even delivered warm. We love it! 5 stars Willowbrook, please step it up. read more

Came here to try their non-pizza lunch menu. We already know they have some of the best deep-dish pizzas in town, so it was time to try something else. Parking is available in the lot out front. The entrance to this thing is kind of hidden but it's on the NW corner. My colleague and I circled around for a bit before locating it. The interior is vintage-themed, with plenty of artwork from the 1933 Chicago World's Fair. They did a pretty good job on the decorations here. Very neat posters all over. The bar area is kinda cool looking too in that respect. The waitress was friendly and helpful. I had the "N side style" roast beef sandwich. The "N side" part means that your sandwich meat and fillings are stuffed inside a pizza/pie crust instead of 2 slices of bread. See pics. Eating it was a bit of a headscratcher, as I could barely dip the sandwich into the au jus. It was too big. Ended up making a mess like a kid. The sandwich comes with fries, soup, or salad. I had the minestrone soup. It was decent, but tasted like something you'd find in a cafeteria. Overall, the experience was decent. read more

The box was wrapped in a plastic bag in case I was slow getting to it. The pizza was excellent. The best deep dish in the area. I'm from Chicago. None of the local places can touch this Giordano's. Food is good, service is so so. Service is slow after 5 PM but even at lunch it could be better. Came in with my mother in a wheelchair and no one helped hold a door or made it easy to get in or out even though it was very slow. Oh Giordano. I miss you already and it's only been a few days. We didn't want to deal with the crowd and parking of the other Giordanos at downtown and was glad we came here instead. I phoned in and preordered the Chicago classic and the ones with only veggies. When we arrived the pizzas were ready for us and boy it was delicious. It was cheesy with tons of toppings and the sauce and the crust combination was perfect. We also ordered the family size salad and that was very fresh and good as well. Service was good and they have tons of beers on tap that I didn't get to try. Private parking lot with plenty of parking spots. Overall, we left happy and full. I don't appreciate being charged an additional 3% to help the owner cover the costs of doing business, and "in lieu of raising prices". But they have raised prices, wings that cost 10.45 on the last carry out menu are now 15.95. Plus 3% to help the owners wallet. Covid is over, stop gouging. Worst experience ever. I grew up going here. 25+ years of this being my hometown pizzeria. I walked in today, after flying in with my daughter from Charlotte to visit my dad who just had surgery, for his first dinner out of the house in three months. We called to make a reservation given three kids, a 2 year old who was last her bedtime, and the fact we were hungry. They told us in the phone they don't take reservations, and we didn't need one because Friday nights aren't busy, but they would make one for ya anyway So we arrive on time, and the hostess was extreme rude. She said "just so you know, you're lucky you got a reservation because we don't do that for anyone". Meanwhile I look around and the restaurant as 15% occupied. Nonetheless I thank them and inform them I have a two year old with me and she just got off the plane and we are trying to enjoy a special family meal. Then the same hostess proceeded to seat us at the worst table possible while there are numerous unoccupied tables. She then is extremely rude when I ask her to move to an adjacent table that was open. She finally obliged. Our server was amazing. He tried to make up for the poor experience. But then come cold appetizers And to TOP IT OFF... they NEVER brought out our pizza after even waiting for ONE HOUR. I'm not sure if it was due to the color of my skin, but I can't imagine any other reason for the blatant disrespect and prejudice I faced all night. We complained and we left. They comped the bill and delivered another cold pizza that was obviously rushed out of the oven to attempt to compensate for the experience. As a person, a professional, and a local... I'm saddened and disappointed by the experience. My family will NEVER go back here. What a disappointment top to bottom. The staff needs to change. Ok round two so far we are great. Our server is Heather, she is really good. Attentive, but not over attentive, we ordered the Bruschetta, I can't say enough good things about this appetizer. I asked if the bread could be left untoasted it was. This is truly an amazing dish. Right now watching our server take care of her other table, which consists of a bunch of loud children(which is ok. 5 stars for the service, we had an absolutely delightful waitress serving us :) not sure what her name was but she made our experience at Giordano's excellent. We were able to split a medium deep dish half veggie and half special. This was my first deep dish pizza! The crust was amazing but I'm not sure how I feel about deep dish in general. Tasted great but it was really heavy after I had just one slice. I think I could have probably just gone w small pizza to split with my friend. We have also enjoyed the deep dish pizza from the Willowbrook location for many years. Though just this week we orders a deep dish Pizza and we were very, very disappointed. Fantastic Pizza but the server was not good. CHI-TOWN Baby! He got the order wrong. Never even wrote it down. Pizza came out an hour and a half later..not 45 minutes..but it was absolutely fantastic. The thin crust is another Chicago staple that most out of towners don't know about because they're told that stuffed crust is the only way to go. My husband and I are systematically going to a different pizza place every time we go to Chicago. This one was convenient to our hotel so it made the next slot on our list. We were happy with the service and attention we got here. the waitress was super sweet and knowledgable, heck she even dished other pizzas with us fairly objectively. I liked that. She kept us in drink refills and was just great in general. We started with an antipasto salad which had nice big slices of meats and cheese, veggies, pepperocini and tasty olives with a good olive oil vinaigrette dressing, we also had some very tasty garlic cheese bread as waiting for stuffed pizza can take time (ours was about a half hour wait) and we were hungry. We ordered a small stuffed pizza with lots of meats as I was letting James pick. I especially liked the canadian bacon mmmm. I loved the crust and the sauce was just so freaking good. A cheesy meaty slice of heaven. One of the top pies in Chicago to be sure. We were both super happy. It is heavy, gooey, cheesy, dense and saucy so if you are not into that kind of thing then skip it, we loved it and found it to be an enormously happy thing indeed. Food safety and quality is important to me . Having a pizza delivered with no plastic covering pizza and sliding out of the box is unacceptable. The Greek salad was sealed and I'm a bag with sticker marked sealed for safety. But you no longer place plastic covering pizza inside the box . First time trying Chicago's famous deep dish, huzzah! We ordered the calamari and the three ingredient deep dish with spinach, mushrooms, and sausage. The calamari came out relatively quickly and was a nice appetizer to appease our growling stomachs. Unfortunately, the calamari was on the soggy side and pretty much soaked in its own oils. Maybe I've been spoiled by tempura-like calamari in California, but this is not what I expected! :( On the other hand, the pizza was pretty delicious! I loved that spinach was available as a topping so you can trick yourself into thinking you're eating something healthy. After all, Congress did say that pizza is considered a serving of vegetables right? I was slightly disappointed that the cheese didn't have the stringy, light consistency that I usually associate with mozzarella, but it was still delicious! Three girls, one pizza. I usually get the plain cheese deep dish. I have a philosophy when it comes to judging my pizza establishments, if your plain cheese is not good then I'm out. Giordanos plain cheese was good enough that I very rarely stray from it. I have and will continue to come back often when the need for deep dish arises in my life (which is very often). 10/10 They have a couple good beers on tap (Lagunitas IPA, GI green line, sam adams cold snap), a bunch of bottles, plenty of wine too if that tickles your fancy. I had a really excellent experience at Giordano's. Based on some of the Yelper's advice I ordered a bit in advance and only had maybe a 15 minute wait when I got there. It is large, clean, and very comfortable. (The service, btw, was great, too. Quick, polite, and accommodating,) The pizza is large and filling, think like a 'normal' pizza but two or three times thicker. It is really tasty and I didn't notice any grease at all, which is a bit of a departure for me from most pizza I've had. I would absolutely return to this restaurant again, happily. Ricki McNeely, the new Restaurant Manager, was very helpful! He took the time to outline the changes and give me pricing on revisions to their current lunch menu. He was just very attentive and made me feel like he truly cared. They recently changed the kids meal to not include a drink for carry out and this is what I always get! If you are a Chicago resident, you've had a Giordano's stuffed pizza in your lifetime (or in most cases, several and a few times a year.) For the price and you are paying quality price, you are getting an astoundingly gooey, delicious, filing large slice of just tasty goodness. It's always a fantastic eat but after you're done, you walk away feeling too full to want to consider food for at least another week or two (this is obviously a great thing.) For that reason, Giordano's tends to get 5 stars alone in my book because it's nearly legendary in its status of Chicago food. That said, my review is more about what I use Giordano's for these days, which is to have when people I know are in from out of town. Either for the first time or just because it's been a while, a stuffed pizza from Giordano's never fails to impress (and also fills up quite nicely as I've said.) It makes for the perfect tourist/vacationer meal and this time around was no different than the many other times I've had it. I was visiting my brother with an out of town friend so that's why I picked this particular Giordano's to review. We went in on a weeknight to a moderately full restaurant and were seated quickly enough. The waitress was extremely nice and the place looked fantastic to boot. Super attentive, pleasant all around so thumbs up for the location. As for the food, I can't help but gush over the excellence. A sausage stuffed never goes wrong and I can't help but love the mozzarella triangles they have as well. Basically this is a worthy location for the name and worth the visit if you're in the area (and more so if you're giving your guest an overall taste of Chicago.) Look forward to dining in again here at some point soon eventually. read more
