Small eclectic and constantly amazing. Fine fresh fish veal, and pasta. Gio's offers the full italian menu, they will make anything you want even if it's not on the menu. Always a 10!!!

Came with friends two weeks ago for the first time and loved the food so much my fiancé and I came back again last night. Their food is some of the best Italian food in the area. When we came two weeks ago the food and service was a 10/10. Last nights service was not great as our server seemed very new and inexperienced with the menu. Highly recommend the fried calamari, stuffed mushrooms & eggplant tower for apps. Our dinner was delicious as well. Hoping for better service next time but we'll be back soon!

Great food and service. We had a great waiter that did an awesome job catering to a larger group. Everything ordered was to share, they had no issue with it. They made excellent recommendations. There was not a bad dish in sight. Would return.

We celebrated a friend's birthday at Gio's and couldn't ask for a better experience. It was our first time there, I've been wanting to try for a long time. From the moment we arrived we were treated graciously by Anna. The ambiance is quaint and inviting with a beautiful bar. Speaking of the bar the cocktails were exceptional with many great choices. As for their menu, talk about choices, so many great options including specials. We had an octopus appetizer special. The octopus was cooked perfectly, tender and delicious. We had the linguine with seafood in a white sauce (red was also an option) It had lobster tails, shrimp, calamari and mussels. Very large portion that was delicious. We had the veal Sorrentino that's on their regular menu. It truly was one of the best veal dishes I ever had, the best in the city. Also had the broccoli rabe that was so good. For desserts we had 2 different tartufo's, perfect ending to a great meal. Our server Nick was nothing short of fantastic. He was friendly and so accommodating. He made our experience even better. All of the staff were wonderful. I can't wait to go back and bring more people with us. I can't stop thinking about the veal!!

Last night was my second time visiting Gio's, and both times it was pure perfection! From the moment you walk in the restaurant has this vibrant ambiance with a stunning and classy bar. The restaurant is cozy but very spacious, I truly loved the decor. The staff greeted us and sat us promptly. Our server was Deena and I can't say enough wonderful things about her! She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, the restaurant and the Chef. She truly made our dining experience extra wonderful! The food is definitely high quality and their pasta is home made super fresh and delicious! To start we had the burrata and figs salad and their steak tartare LOVED IT! For our second course we had the Maple Glazed Porkchop and their Homemade Truffle Paccheri topped with crispy pancetta truly Heaven in your Mouth! For dessert we had chocolate covered strawberries and their raspberry cheesecake AMAZING! Overall, I highly recommend this beautiful gem!

Service was slow. Meal came out staggered with sides trailing entrees by 30+ minutes. Management was arrogant and less than civil.

When we went in, we were seated very quickly with our reservation. We got greeted by our server, Kaylin. She was very professional and very thorough with making sure she got our orders right. The other server, Sophia also checked in on us when Kaylin was busy. They were very personable too, and actually got to know us a little bit. The food was incredible! The pizza had a nice char on the crust. I could tell it was made fresh. All of our parmigianas came out amazing as well too. The food was fried just at the right crispiness, and the sauce and cheese were very flavorful. The tiramisu was nice and moist and had a great flavor to it. When it came time to leave, Kaylin made sure she had each of our bills correct before giving them to us. The place is a little pricey, but it's worth the money you pay for the quality of the food you're getting. I would definitely come back here again when I revisit my friend. If you're in Long Beach, definitely don't skip on this place. It's worth it!

Nice smell , not much clams and even less flavor on it , more dough than anything . The polenta fries were the one and only main highlight . I'd order them often and anytime I'm craving a fries yummy item Then I got the steal and potatoes the cook was perfect on the inside but outside disintegrating have that fire char, zero flavor on the steak not a sprinkle o le flavor or salt anywhere to Be found and the potatoes just fried good with zero flavor as well. Was a complete waste of 50$ Then we got the pasta and chicken parm . Chicken not bad prep sauce and cheesy but sauce that covered that and the pasta was just tomato sauce and zero flavors of basil or anything else at all. Service was great and saved this place from 1 star. Would not come back here for sure.

We literally just took the last bite of our appetizer, and our main course was right there. I understand that restaurants need to turn over tables, but on this night the restaurant wasn't packed and there didn't seem to be a line of patrons waiting for a table. I will go back to the restaurant, but will ask if they can give us a little time between appetizer and entree.

Nice comfortable motif. Long high tables in the middle shaped like an "L" with regular tables for four along the rear periphery. The service is excellent. Brisket and Ribs, Fish and Chips, The Wedge Salad and Charred Octopus were excellent. The hot lobster roll is alright. I realized that we were here before because of the comfortable ambiance which is unforgettable. My friend enjoys his Martini every time. I have tried neither their signature drinks nor a theme dinner night, nor a live music event. Seems like there are many reasons to come to this place. Excellent presentation and experience for a Gastropub joint. Their menu has something for everyone! Five star for gastropub rating. Great experience every time.

Now let's talk about the food, the tower of salad and cheese with prosciutto was well dressed. Tortelli soup hit the spot as a summer soup that included summer squash and zucchini. The carbonara needs some works, it was too soupy/watery. I really enjoyed the almond chicken. I'm not sure if was gluten free (I don't need gluten free) but if it was, this was an excellent option. They also had gluten free options for pasta.

The server had an attitude the second he came over to us, it wasn't too busy just yet so unsure what his demeanor was about. He told us the specials and walked away. We ordered the fried calamari which came out in a timely manner. After that when we placed our entree order the server didn't come back to ask if we needed refills on anything. The entrees took a lot longer than expected. A table that came in 15 min after us got their food very fast. Once we got our entrees they were good, the food is consistently yummy here. But again our server did not come to see if we needed anything after the entrees were dropped at the table. I had the pasta with clams, it was good but lacked a flavor in the sauce. The calamari was great, crispy and flavorful. And the gnocchi bolognese was good as well, very ricotta leaning. Over all it was good but the waiter put a bad taste in one of my guests mouth which was disappointing. Overall I would give Gran paradiso another shot because they have good Italian but not rushing there due to the service.
