I love this place because it's not too big, not too small, but it will shut down a facility for a birthday party or celebration hired by a customer that has been here before. This place not only sells great food but they also are a one stop shop if you need Mexican seasoning, some health aids or if you are just a fan of soccer. This place reminds me of the Mexican restaurants back home in L.A., so whenever I go here to order some tamales and they tell me they are all out, I know that I'm not the only one that feels great about coming here! This feels family run. Not sure if it is or not, but it's for sure 100% family friendly. It's tucked away in a little shopping mall. Plenty of seating for any size family. The staff is super friendly. And they try to be as attentive as possible. Be prepared for a wait if you go. This isn't a fast food joint. They cook everything when it's ordered, not preheat it. I'm pretty excited to find chicharron tacos so close to me. They are my favorite and man are these spicy. The other tacos we got are not spicy unless you add sauce. The pork tacos are the same as Al pastor, if that is the flavor you are looking for. The tacos were really good. Even the corn tortillas they were served in was pretty awesome. This is a pretty authentic place so please don't expect taco bell speed or constant attention. This is a leisure place. Sit, talk and enjoy the food. Amazing street tacos. I can't recommend this place enough. The barbacoa meat is nice and tender and has just the right amount of fat. The pastor tacos are a bit of a hit and miss in terms of consistency, but even when it's a miss, they are still super good. The churros are amazing. Definitely get their churros if you are hankering for a nice, crispy, chewy, and not overly sweet treat. Definitely worth the trip every time. read more

We loved the food. Workout pants required. If you white and want a hint of Tex mex but real Mexican this is it!!!! Don't expect anything but a family run, slow paced, Mexican home. The Revueltas pupusas were absolutely ridiculous, the gringas enchiladas were tasty. The chimichangas...definitely Tex mex but one of the best. The cheese sauce made this white girl smile. Love this place! I used to go to their other location and I was super happy that they opened one on the way home from work. The owner is a very sweet lady and she always have a smile on her face. The food is delicious and everything is fresh. I haven't had anything bad from here at all. The tamales are so good but they run out quick some days so you have to go early. Only way they could have gotten a five star was with a cold cerveza on the menu. Enchilada special is the best $5 you can spend in the metroplex. They can not get orders correct. And then like to charge for making the correct one. Unless you argue with them about it and that should never be the case. If it was wrong, then it's wrong. Fix the order and do not charge If whoever takes the order can't take it correctly, then find someone else. And if the kitchen can't correctly make orders, then find another cook. Outstanding in every way. The food is ALWAYS amazing, the staff is so sweet and accommodating and the quantity/quality of the food is exceptional. One of my favorite Gio's experience was a few months back when they offered elote (which I love but had never noticed on the menu before). The woman working was very sincere in asking for my honest feedback as the elote was a new or seasonal menu item they were still working to perfect. That small request for feedback said so much to me about the staff at Gio's. Rest assured that Gio's works tirelessly to deliver excellent food and service. Obsessed with this place. They are consistently good. The tacos are not greasy. We order from here about 3-5 times a week and still crave them the next day. On Thursdays they have the 20-$25 which is one of the best deals around town. You can't beat it. We've tried other taco place not a bit good for double the price. The women are always so friendly. Added another taco spot to my list! Gio's is a nice little place, it's clean and has an easy location. I went on a weeknight and it was not busy, there is plenty of space for big parties. The menu has a variety of items, not just Mexican food. I had tacos and they were delicious! However, they were super greasy. So much so that my tortillas fell apart.
