I will be hard pressed to not order from them whenever I order food. A lengthy extensive menu provides more options than I'll probably ever be able to try, but I will do my best. Homestyle italian that's a few bumps up from your local pizza place and a few below Babbo. No skimping on either, delicious balsamic sauce... mmm... and so big that even for my first meal of the day at 3pm I could only finish half. Fries were soggy though. Tasty, but soggy. 2 stars. Friend got the garden salad = $5 plentiful and 4 stars with olives and other additional yumminess. We shared the free calamari that came with out order = Free and 3 stars. A little rubbery but still good. And really, it's delivery calamari so how high should expectations be? I would have given this restaurant five stars. However, I gave it three. Here is why... During the weekdays the pizza with a cup of soda cost $ 2.00 which is a great deal for a quick meal or on the go when your off to school or work. That is great honestly, but if you want another slice without the soda is $2.75 alone. That's pretty pricey for a slice; especially for the grand concourse. Another reason is because of the sit-ins are expansive. It is not bad that it is expensive because it is an upscale restaurant, but you can not be a frequent costumer to enjoy the food over and over again unless your rich. Brunch was very underwhelming. First of all I had to keep flagging down my waiter. My mom and I were excited about seafood buffet experience... the food was mostly cold even the items that are expected to be hot. The food gets slowly replenished except the oysters it was only restocked once in the hours that we dined in. 2 free drinks included and 4 bucks after but no real choices even after the free drinks. The two bigger groups got service but since it was just us two we were often ignored. This restaurant is near my job and is usually a go to restaurant for most people in the area. This is mainly because there are not many other restaurant options in this area! The pizza is pretty good but I have had better in Brooklyn at pretty much any pizzeria in Bensonhurst. As far as the other menu choices my favorite is their buffalo wings because they are very flavorful and not just hot. I also love the pork chops with vinegar peppers when it's made correctly. I have ordered this dish a few times and the tastes changed I'm assuming when the cook did. The food in general is pretty good but this restaurants biggest short coming is their delivery service! Never have I waited so long for food to be delivered by a restaurant. On many occasions I have ordered with a co-worker or two and have had to wait over an hour for a delivery. The restaurant itself is less than five blocks away. Last night for example I placed an order about 5:30PM and at 7PM I called to cancel! The food is OK but service...horrible. FYI - The pizza oven at the Grand Concourse location is in plain sight and is the typical gas pizza oven used by most restaurants...you dont see any burning coals inside! read more

On Friday March 15th I went to this restaurant for happy hour which I have done many times. There is this same male bartender with slick hair who likes to accuse people of not tipping. This time I went and he spoke badly about me to another co worker. I informed her of her bad service but still decided to give her a tip. I notice she walked away from her register with my card and returned a few minutes later with my receipt. I then checked my account a few days later and found extra charges on my card from this establishment. I then reported it to my bank as fraud and will never return here again. Whenever its that time of the month or close to it - I develop a craving for Italian food. When this occurs, I find myself at home watching a True Blood marathon. In any case I digress, Giovanni's has ok Italian food considering the monopoly on the Italian delivery game in Harlem and they are reliable. This is a nice place with good service and classy decor. its pricey though, especially for lunch. But I recommend it if you want to bring someone to a place in the area that you'd like to impress or you are having a business lunch. Food was ok - my impression was fancy diner quality or if you are familiar, Applebees. I got the grilled veggie panini with onion rings. The panini was tasty - good bread and plenty of veggies. I wished it came with cheese, but I already eat way too much cheese LOL. Onion rings were a bit disappointing though. They were kinda chewy - definitely tasted like they were made from frozen and not fried long enough. My friend got a piece of salmon and a side of veggies and salad (she was eating healthy, despite her meat-eating ways). I ordered on April 20th requested delivery and got it with no problem at all. food was good. so we decided to order again on April 24 this time we were told that they did not deliver to my address because it was too far. I placed my order at 9:34pm my estimated time of arrival was at 10:29pm from the email received by yelp. The Giovanni's estimated time showed 60-70 minutes. I called the restaurant shortly after placing my order to add a cheesy bread but they did not answer. I called yelp customer support to assist in adding a cheesy bread and they were able to get through to the restaurant at 11pm. I received my order at 12am. 2 1/2 hours after I placed my order. I've dined here a few times. Food is always great. The baked clams are my favorite and my daughter lives by the baked ziti and pepperoni garlic bread. The pizza is great also. Lunch time, heavy traffic, ask for more fresh basil on my Margherita pizza (because there was three pieces of basil on it), have this request confirmed TWICE by server. My order over the phone was fast and simple. I don't like when every week they have different specials and I try to find the best deals possible, in other chain pizzerias. DON'T EVER DO DELIVERY. I've been to Giovanni's a ton of times. The food is great and presented well. We'll I just received my second delivery at home. Trust me it's not the same as you would receive at the restaurant. They either add piece that they would not use at the restaurant. The taste is okay for a delivery. In one of the pictures you'll see asparagus ends which are usually discarded but when ordered at a restaurant it looks fresh and you get the upper portion of the asparagus. I ordered the broil sole and received as huge under cooked broccoli ($22 plate). The pictures don't lie. If you've ever eaten here you know that the food is never sent to the table looking like this.
