I ate half a slice and tossed the rest sadly. I won't be ordering from here again. The cannoli was fine but wouldn't order again either. The only thing I would eat again is the garlic knots. Very disappointing for Jersey pizza.

When we arrived, what appeared to be the owner was greeting guests at the entrance. Since he was welcoming everyone and dressed differently from the rest of the staff, we assumed he was the owner. It was a great touch and immediately raised our expectations. Unfortunately, the experience did not fully match that first impression. We started with drinks: a glass of wine for me and an Old Fashioned for my wife. As happens too often in restaurants, the stronger drink was automatically assumed to be mine, and the drinks were delivered incorrectly. It's a small detail, but one that reflects attention--or lack of it. Bread arrived quickly, followed soon after by the food. I ordered the gnocchi with meat sauce. The dish was acceptable, but nothing extraordinary. My wife ordered the house seafood salad, which was very good--fresh, flavorful, and easily the best dish we had that night. Our waiter spoke limited English. Once he realized we also spoke his language, the service became noticeably more relaxed and somewhat overly familiar. He immediately tried to guide us toward the most expensive items on the menu. When I declined coffee after dinner, he responded by saying something along the lines of: "Well, that's your choice, but the coffee here is very good," which felt unnecessary. We also had a small issue with the Old Fashioned garnish. The orange peel looked unusual, so we asked for the drink to be replaced. The waiter did replace it, though he first tried to explain that what we thought were worms were simply marks on the fruit peel. For dessert we ordered the tiramisu, which the waiter promoted heavily as the best dessert to try. Unfortunately, it didn't deliver. Instead of the classic layered presentation, it arrived more like a cup full of cream with a few pieces of soaked bread and very little coffee flavor. The issue was not just the dessert itself, but the expectations created when it was described. Bareli's is a beautiful restaurant with a great location and atmosphere, but the service details and execution didn't quite match the level suggested by the setting.

You did need to pay for your cocktails but I feel like that made the service here even better because at other brunch spots with unlimited mimosa bars they tend to try and dodge tables when all you are looking for is another drink- I personally rather pay for it then constantly trying to waive someone down. They also had two rooms, a bigger and smaller room which is great for people who want to have graduation, a sweet 16 or even a wedding or birthday here.

Best fresh mozzarella you'll ever have, guaranteed. Tops any deli or bakery in Hoboken, plus you won't have to deal with the parking or elitist attitude that you get in Hoboken. Also, it's not really far out of the way at all. It's not miles and miles buried into a residential neighborhood as these other reviews would like to have you believe. If you can exit Route 3 in Secaucus onto Meadowlands Parkway, it's no more than 5-10 minutes tops with a total of exactly three turns off of Meadowlands Parkway. Bring your wallet and expect to pay $9 for one meat + mozz, $10 for two meats plus mozz. Big sandwich, absolutely delicious, but not cheap...and I'm a regular - there are no breaks like there were back in the day. The soups and food products are also delicious. You really can't go wrong here other than price. Not much room to eat inside, and you won't be near comfortable if it is busy. One or two tables out front when it's nice out, but definitely more of a grab-and-go place. read more

AMAZING place. Great fresh mozz. Great sandwiches. Great hot food! A few cons: The one lady who works lunch is terrible. Her high pitched voice with the fake guido accent. I avoid her. She cant make a sandwich, she's rude, and she cant take an order on the phone. My office placed a large order at Gio's. We got her on the phone. She screwed up the orders, couldnt explain some of the salads. We never placed another big order again. If you go after 3, she's usually not there. Such a shame too. If they could just get everyone making sandwiches the same way, this place would do much better I think. Also, they could be cleaner. But the mozz is great, the food is great, so i am a regular customer. read more

I didn't love the bread, so I think my next step would be to just buy all the ingredients myself and then provide my own bread at home. Service was very prompt and friendly.
