Food poisoning, severe intestinal cramps, gas, and diarrhea is what I got after ordering linguini with clam sauce on 4/18/2021, which consisted of 99% linguni, a few baby clams inside their shells laying atop the pasta, absolutely no diced clams, and pieces of broken shell mixed inside the mound of pasta that I had to spit out when I placed the pasta in my mouth. I ended up throwing half of this garbage in the trash after spending $16.95. This is the Giovani's located at 2374 Seipstown Rd, Fogelsville, PA. Eat there at your own risk. Tried their takeout for first time since moving to the area. Some of the best pizza around, and they have gluten free which is good for the ladies in our household. Very nice selection of Italian entrees and sandwiches. Their salads are huge, we had the antipasto with balsamic....delicious. This happened quite a long while back, I'm just now getting to my review. I use to order from here once upon a time. I'm in charge of ordering the work lunches. So almost once a month, I would order 13 to 15 large pies. Not cheese pizza, mind you. We're talking meat lovers, the Hawaiian, the Buffalo Chicken, etc. We love a good mix and my boss doesn't scrimp on our lunch. Each pie comes (or did) with a coupon. Save 30 coupons and you get a free large cheese pie. My supervisor kept them all in his draw and gave me a stack of 30 one day. So one night I decided to make use of it and convinced my family to eat there instead of Vinny's. The coupon did NOT state it is for pick up only or I would have left them home and picked up the pie. After we eat, I go to pay and provide my 30 coupons. The man (possibly the owner) tells me the free pie is for pick up only. I inform him it does not state that. He said, "there is only so much room on the coupon". I'm thinking there is definitely room for that! But OK! He then tells me he has to pay the waitress and wash the dishes and such, that is why those free pies have to be picked up only. He was polite and I understood where he was coming from, but... A. Had I only walked in and got a pie, I would not have purchased garlic knots and drinks at the table. I spent more money sitting there than if I'd only picked up a free pie. B. I'm still tipping the waitress. (I understand he can't just assume that, but it was part of his "pay the staff" argument). And what dishes? The tray and cups? Everything else was in foil. I actually saved you a pizza box! I didn't even get a new coupon because I didn't get a box. C. Most importantly, the coupons did not state how to redeem or the restrictions. Should I have asked? Sure. I messed up. But I'm in the customer service field. What this situation called for was customer service skills. I am a customer who obviously purchased 30 pies since you see I have 30 coupons. In an environment with so many pizza joints to order from, you'd think he'd care more about retaining a customer than one free pie. Basically, I paid for the pie, tossed the coupons, and have never ordered there again. Every work lunch comes from a different pizzeria since then. Which is fine by my boss because the bill is a little cheaper now. While he doesn't scrimp, he still likes a deal when he sees one. lol Point of my review is only in regards to the lack of customer retention. Telling me, "I'm sorry it is not communicated well on the coupons. We normally only allow pick up, but you did order a lot of pies, so I'll give you your free pie today!" This place is about a mile down the road so, needless to say, we frequent it often for pizza and other quick bites. The folks there have always been very friendly and we've never had a bad meal. I will say that the prices are a bit higher than what I would expect but they are the only place to eat in a certain radius. I also think you get what you pay for here. read more

In town on business and I noticed this place on several review boards. I took a chance and drove over from my hotel. the place is in a small quit strip center in the suburbs. I was greeted when I came in and I didn't see any customers. As I was ordering my food customer after customer arrived and picked up their orders. They all assured me this is the best place in the area. I ordered a cheese steak and it came out perfect. The best cheese steak I have has in years!!!! Doesn't matter if you have good food when your service is horrible. We were repeat customers here and everytime our order was messed up, they always blamed it on us, the customers. I finally said this is ridiculous and went back with my wrong order and the owner began arguing with me the second I walked in the door. He continued to call me a liar because he messed up our order and didn't want to admit it, like always. He told me never to come back but that's okay because I never wanna go back. Bad business! Over priced for what you get. We stopped going after our bill was $70 for 4 sandwiches, 3 appetizers, and a child's spaghetti. Come to find out I was charged for another sandwich when I asked for extra chicken in the chicken cheese steak. I have no problem paying for extra meat but I don't like the fact that I was charged for another sandwich. The owner often displays a poor attitude when you ask for something extra and his attitude gets really poor if you dare ask for something that's not on the menu. It's not worth the money for the small portions and the poor attitude. It's worth driving 10 minutes further for better food, bigger portions, and better service. read more

I live less than a quarter mile from this restaurant. The food is subpar but due the convenience factor we have been eating at this restaurant at least once a week since we moved to Fogelsville. Our neighbors advised us not to visit as the prices are too high for the quality of food that is served. About two months ago we had an issue with the pricing and when we questioned it we were told by the manager that we had an old menu at home and to use the menu provided on their website giovannisfogelsville.com which has the correct pricing. Tonight we went online to view their menu and ordered two dishes. When my husband picked up the order he was surprised at the total cost of our meal. I called the restaurant to find out if we were possibly overcharged and the young lady explained that they increased their prices in the past week. I asked why their online menu has not been updated and she did not have an answer for me. When I asked for the manager/owner he explained that the cost of the food went up and so his prices needed to go up as well. I questioned the pricing online and he retorted he cannot control the prices reflected on the online menu and that those prices are incorrect. Instead of apologizing for the mistake the owner refused to listen to me and continually talked over me. I find this to be rude and the fastest way to lose a customer.
