This is a family favorite. Food is always amazing. The only eggplant rollatini I'll eat. I have dreams about the tortellini in the cognac truffle sauce w the steak and mozzarella. Love this place! We've been here a couple of times. Great service. Great food! They serve hot bread with cheese on it and olive oil..i swear i could eat the whole portion...it's soo good. We had wine and the glasses are filled nicely! portions of food are big! We had hot antipaste for 2...delicious...comes with stuffed mushroom, eggplant, shrimp, stuffed pepper and fried mozzarella...oh god..sooo good! I had a chicken dish that normally comes pan fried but they baked it for me and it had a sauce on it..creamy hazelnut sauce..made from Frangelico..my mouth is watering just writing about it..i loved it...i never had anything like it before. it also came with fried stuff but i asked if they can grill vegetables and it was no problem! bf had chicken pizziola..he loved it as well. Attended a party here. They sat us in the back room. Every single dish was delicious from appetizers to dessert. The service was also good. The only problem was the kid doing valet. He was nowhere to be found when we pulled up and I had to park myself. I would definitely eat here again. read more

We had the front room and it was set up perfectly for the size party we had (30), 8 of which were children. The food was excellent, the service was excellent. I have been there for dinner a number of theme and the service has been exemplary, and for a large group the service level was amazing. Tried the Fixed Price Menu for the first time. For appetizers we had the Crab Cake-small and average; and the Eggplant Rollatini-small and average/very good. For entree, I had the Chicken Parmigiana, with Spaghetti (additional charge), Chicken Parmigiana was at best half a chicken cutlet. Fortunately, I ordered the Spaghetti to go with it-average at best because of the chicken portion, and average with the Spaghetti added. My wife ordered the Pork Chop-small and average. For dessert we had small slices of American and Italian Cheesecake with Espresso (additional charge). Cheesecakes were surprisingly similar, with a texture that was smooth and creamy. Often, the Italian version has a bit more texture-average. Recommend the A la Carte menu if you wish to fully appreciate the higher level of quality and quantity that best represents Giuliana's. I have always rated that menu much higher. read more

We went on a Friday night with a party of 6. We shared several appetizers that were all excellent. We had the Arugula Salad, Lamb Sausage special, Grilled Octopus, Fried Calamari & Artichokes in a Gorgonzola cream sauce. Very generous portions at reasonable prices. For dinner we had Seafood Risotto, Osso Bucco, Swordfish, Veal Barolo & Pollo Valdostana. Again, all were excellent. A few of us had leftovers. We also enjoyed the desserts, coffee & espresso. Well this is one of my mother's favorite restaurants - reasonably priced lunch menu works well for her and YMCA friends.. They love the hostess - Marilyn. I took my mom here last Friday for her 80th birthday. Great service and nice atmosphere. Even on a Friday night they have specials until 7 pm. Very reasonable dinners and good portions. We will be back and thanks for being so wonderful to my mom on all of her visits with her friends. read more

Came here as a group of 10 for friends birthday. Most of our first time here. When i arrived 2 of my friends were there and already had gotten there drinks at the bar. We asked to be seated as i had a 2 month old baby with me. We got seated, and i went up to be bar and asked for drink deals, This is when the best thing happened, they have $45 open bar which include top shelf with Henny and Black! Out of the 10, 9 of us got the open bar deal. We ordered calamari and couple of other hot appetizers. None of them were really that great to write about. I got the T bone steak as the main course.. medium rare, It was no doubt the best stake I had in SI. It was cooked perfect, they also had this pepper corn sauce, which was lil too much, but I was easily able to move it to the side with the knife. I spoke to the waiter about it and they said next time you can just ask for it on the side. 3 others also order the steak and they all loved it. My wife had one of the chicken order she said it was good. One person had Salmon which she said that was good as well... By the time the dinner was done, most of us were drunk and had no much food left over. I will def come back to this place for the Steak and $45 open bar. If you wanted to have a small get together for someone's bday in SI, this is the best spot for that I been to as of now. read more

I am already thinking of going back with my husband. I was just there Saturday. My friends and I have an annual Christmas Dinner. This year we decided NOT to cook and go out to eat. I am so happy with that decision. The restaurant was lit with Christmas lights and the walls are adorned with photos of patrons. An older gentleman was singing Dean Martin tunes and we were taken to our table immediately. We ordered classic appetizers for the table: baked clams, tomato and mozzarella salad and fried artichokes. The food was outstanding! I would definitely recommend getting the filet mignon in mushroom sauce. The service was attentive and the ambiance was perfection. Awful customer service. I called in the early afternoon on mother's day to ask whether I could get a take out order for 10 people. They told me - 'yes, sure'. I then shared the menu with all the members of my party, we spent about an hour selecting what to order and when I called an hour later again same guy told me that they can't accommodate me due to being busy. I tried to remind him of our conversation from an hour ago, but he didn't care, no apology given, just insisted they couldn't do it as they simply got too busy. Not acceptable!!! First off, if there are any specials on the menu try one...or try them all. The grilled octopus is excellent, the Sunday Sauce is great and everything else is cooked perfectly. never a bad meal here and if something isn't right the owner is there to fix it. Guiliana's is a great restaurant. The staff is friendly and patient. I would recommend going there for dinner. They also have specials which you get a lot of delicious food for your money. One must assume either the other reviews here are from friends and family or people who do not get to leave Staten Island, and have only a limited basis of comparison. The food is OK. My biggest issue was with our waiter. He was quite rude and condescending. He upcharged for several menu items without our knowledge or consent. Having lived and dined on 5 continents, I can assure you I am not stranger to expensive dining. This was quite inexpensive comparitively. I just do not like sneaky attempts to pad the check to increase ones tip. When I questioned him he got offended and smart-alecky. I'm sure he has a rather extensive knowledge of the culinary arts and is well travelled, probably having been to at least 3 of the 5 boroughs, but his inability to grasp our issues were maddening. I don't know the island well enough to offer another recommendation, but I would never return and have to believe there are far better options not too far away. read more

C'mon, this is SI, home of awesome Italian eateries. This place needs some batting practice. My girlfriend's family and I went last night for a birthday dinner. Upon pulling up we were quickly greeted by the valet attendant as we were by the hostess while entering the vestibule, promt, kind and courteous. Awesome. While walking through to get to our table I couldn't help but notice the nice and light smell of smokiness in the air produced by what I am assuming would be the wood fire used for the pizza oven. I honostly loved the smell. We were seated promptly, ordered some waters and a bottle of cheap chapagne. The champagne happened to tip over, and was on the house. The service here is honostly outstanding, complments to the wait staff. The first taste of the food came when they brought out a suficient amout of bread and camponada. Tasty. Where this great story starts to go down hill is the calamari. We ordered both types, fried and grilled. Both VERY chewey, however, they were nice large pieces and many came with each order. On to dinner. I ordered the Bistecca Guida Loca (shell steak). I was excited, only to be let down. Cooked well, a little tough, and rookie seasoned. Who on earth puts oil doused bread crumbs on top of a steak? Further, the steak sat on top of some diced unripined tomatoes, mozzarella, and some cherry peppers right outta the jar, flanked with one smaller halved potato, terribly seasoned and was clearly made well before hand. My girlfriend got the white clam sauce, which was more like a watery clam broth. Clams were good, however. The dish was devoid of flavor and depth. Two others ordered the lobster ravioli, plentiful portion but swimming in sauce. I can't comment on those dishes as I am only going on presentation. Two others ordered the zuppa di pesce. Again, a substiantial amount of fish, looked good, however, and judging by the commentry--well the lack of--was not all that great. Lastly, one person ordered chicken frangelico. The sauce was overly sweet and weirdly garnished. Overall, the service was great. The food quality was way below expectation and did not seem parralled with its high prices. I had high hopes, which were shot down. Budweiser was good though, nice and cold, as it should be. Over and out, I hope this helps my fellow foodies. Live long and prosper! read more
