I moved to the Kentlands 3 months ago and have enjoyed trying many restaurants in the area. This restaurant came highly rated by a friend. My family decided to check it out last Saturday night. We ordered dinner to take home...two pizzas, chicken wings, and a salad. What an expensive, disappointing meal. The pizza was sticking to the paper under it, and was so soggy, it was difficult to slice and serve. The chicken wings were way overcooked and had no buffalo sause on them (as ordered), and the Caesar salad was certainly nothing special. Spending $55 for take out is very tough on the wallet when the food is so disappointing. read more

Sadly, I was underwhelmed. I really wanted some pizza, this place had decent reviews and a great deal (two slices of cheese pizza and a large drink for $4.99!). Awesome, right? Well, color me disappointed when I got my pizza. It was burned on the bottom, dried out and bland. I'll give this place another try because everyone has an off day and I'm all about second chances. The pepperoni pizza is great. I especially like how the pepperoni is under the cheese. I gave them 3 stars because of the steak and cheese. The meat was a tad over cooked and not that flavorful. Also the meat and grilled onions are cut in such small pieces that it mostly all falls out after one bite. The cheese is on top which covers the overcooked meat very well. They need to stick to making pizza. If you want steak and cheese go to Paisanos. read more

Giuseppi's Pizza is the best pizza in Maryland HANDS DOWN! Their grade of cheese reminds me of when my wife and I went to France and had pizza. They use quality cheese and it taste like it's been aged longer than your average cheese at your average pizza restaurant. I am certainly a pizza foodie and I would recommend just Giuseppi's pizza to anyone who listens and or reads this review. I met the mom once in their Rockville location who was the heart and soul of Giuseppi's restaurant and I can tell you she still making pizza to order heaven. read more

I was debating whether to give four or five stars. What pushed me over the top? I asked myself a simple question: if I could order pizza from any place in MoCo where would I order from? The answer is Giuseppi's. I order pizza and salad from Giusepp's all the time. They say that a pizza is only as good as its crust. I could eat the crust from this place by itself, and I'm not normally a big crust fan. There is a slight tartness and liveliness to the crust that makes it stand out. When it comes fresh out of the oven, it's usually spotted with large bubbles that are to die for. It's crispy where it needs to be and doughy where it needs to be. They also make a veggie salad that they top with their pizza cheese which is great too. Simply put, this is the best pizza I've had outside of NYC. read more

After reading some of the reviews, I can see why you either love it or hate it. I fall into the latter category. We got two pies to go, one full of meat and the other full of veggies (in a white sauce), to placate the "savages" at home. There should be no surprises that this is thin crust pizza. Given that veggie pizzas are usually pretty soggy from the extra fluids, they did a terrific job keeping the crust crisp (BIG plus) on the pie, which was filled with spinach, artichoke hearts, and red peppers. There was also plenty o' cheese on both pies; however, there was a serious lack of seasoning on the pie. Big mistake - no salt, no flavor, no like. The meat pizza was a bit better and had some taste from the toppings, but it wasn't enough to sway me. This should have been a red sauce driven pie, but they put so little on the pie, it was as if there wasn't any on the pie at all. The meatballs were not meatballs at all, but slices of meatballs. It works for the pie, but I was rather disappointed I didn't get more chunks. I would give this a single star for price relative to taste, but the veggie pie was crispy, which is seldom observed, which pushes this up to two stars. read more

I don't think I've ever been to a NY style pizza place where I needed to ADD salt/garlic/Parmesan just to give it flavor - what a disappointment, too. This place could be so much better but they insist on using flavorless sauce for their pizza. It's a shame because the consistency of the crust and pizza overall is perfect NY style. How can they be so close yet so far away? In all my years of eating NY style pizza up and down the east coast (and NE), I have never had to add so much garlic/condiments to a pizza. Been going here for 18+ years. I've tried everything on the menu at this point and have nothing but the best to say about it all. The one thing I really like about this place is this is a real classic pizzeria, the types of places around when I was a kid in the 70s and 80s. What I mean is that you can buy just one slice and a soda. But they also have other items on the menu such as fries, onion rings, side salads. They also have sandwiches. Highly recommend!! read more

Really disappointed. It had been awhile since I had Giuseppi's but I decided to give it a try again as I was tired of Mama Lucia's and Potomac Pizza. Ordered a large Giuseppi's Special and a Large Veggie. Man what a let down!! Soggy crust, some parts weren't even cooked all the way thru!! what the hell? Plus it had this weird sugary taste to it. Not good at all. I remember having Giuseppi's when it first opened and it was great! This time not so much. what happened? WAY TOO MANY BLACK OLIVES. I'm talking at least 1+1/2 cups of black olives on the pie. Now I like black olives on pizza but this is ridiculous. Work on fixing the crust... $48 for 2 pizzas that were mediocre at best is a rip off. Get your act together Giuseppi's! your better than this! read more

I love this pizza! Yes, I love it. Never go for lunch, and hardly ever get a slice. We usually order a cheese pizza since I am a vegetarian. Growing up in northern NJ, a perfect pizza to me is crispy on the bottom, with that little bit of flour that gives texture on your hands, upper side of crust is really moist, a little bit of sauce with authentic marinara sauce and gobs of gooey cheese. The kind of cheese that when you bite into it, pulls away from you like taffy. Of course it has grease, that means its not some chemical impersonation of cheese that has been reengineered to meet the fastidious mewlings of people who don't want to get their fingers messy. You know its a good pizza place when they have garlic salt. I never eat leftovers but pizza is an exception. My family likes Papa Johns which churns out so so pizza with zero originality. After suffering through a few of those, I am dying for a Guiseppe's pizza. Plus Guiseppi's is an independent business which makes me love it even more. If you want a designer pizza with pineapple head over to California Pizza Kitchen in a mall. If you want a real pizza that tastes awesome and has the sensory experience of a crisp, gooey and classic, pizza get yourself to Guiseppi's. read more

The pizza is very good but this place is freezing! The draft is always blasting cold air. Is it to keep the employees cool? If so, you need to change your HVAC system. It is like a freezer in this restaurant. We would go there more often if it weren't for the artic-like temperature. But the pizza is good, especially the two slice special. read more

As others have said, the pizza is bland. As long as the ingredients are good, that's what matters most to me. You can always add some seasoning to a pizza after its cooked. The crust is like an old-fashioned wholesome crust where it doesn't feel like your biting into a sponge at Dominos or Poppa Johns where they lace everything with spices and seasoning to hide who knows what. If you're looking for pizza with pre-seasoned zing, this place may not be for you. I you want pizza that's got a mild, fresh flavor without a funky aftertaste, give Guiseppi's a try. read more

I used to live in downtown Rockville and absolutely LOVED this place. The pizza was delicious, the atmosphere inviting, and they have a great pizza special deal and a even a way of buying discounted movie prices. When I moved to Gaithersburg, we started to go to the Kentlands location. While the staff there is also really friendly, the pizza at the Rockville location is significantly better (slightly thicker, more cheese, etc). While I'll go to the one in Gaithersburg, if that's what my family is in the mood for, sometimes the trip to Rockville is worth it! read more
