This was such a happy find! I built my own board and had a glass of Sancerre and it was everything. The bartenders were so welcoming and kind. They truly made you feel like you belonged. The spot is very cute and well lit. I will probably make this a regular thing.

We stumbled into this place to grab a quick snack. Service staff wasn't really my vibe but that's ok. They had a build your own charcuterie/cheese board. That was worth the service. We ordered the manchego, drunken goat, buratta, soppressata, prosciutto, bread, hot honey, and olives. They served with jam, hot mustard, and caramelized onions. We also ordered a single Blanton's neat. Was relatively well priced. Would go back for cheese.

Came here for Sunday night dinner make sure you make reservations. Live jazz music and great atmosphere. The marble bar is very cool and this establishment was a former bank in the late 1800's. The original bank vault has never been opened and it is the centerpiece behind the bar very cool history. Definitely try the crispy chicken and the burger. They are both highly recommended. Our server Sailor was excellent and she was very knowledgeable. Definitely try this place when you're in Newport.

Decor was very chic and modern-ish! Friendly service and very prompt. Their cocktail menu is small but they have a full bar and will make you anything you want. I asked for a strong espresso martini and they obliged - very nicely made My truffle risotto with scallops was nicely done although only complaint is that the scallops were 30secs ish overdone so became chewy Fish and chips - flaky juicy and amazing fries Mussels - 5/5 dish - highly recommend Crème brûlée - maybe it's me but very disappointed. The strawberries weren't doing anything and I didn't find anything "bruleed". Again, it's a me problem I don't like classic dessert being modified Finally the star of the show was the bread pudding which was PERFECT and comes with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream. Like I said, classic desserts are classic for a reason

The ambiance is very nice situated in an old bank, decorated to feel warm and inviting. Big bar, lots of seats and high top tables. We only had drinks, didn't try the food, but I do love the idea of a "build your own" cheese and charcuterie board. See photo for selection of items to choose from. We didn't have enough time to order food so we didn't try it. The drinks were ok. I'm a bit of an old fashion cocktail kick, and this was not the best one I've ever had, nor the worst, but for the price, I expected better...like maybe a single large ice cube, a fresh orange peel, and to their credit it did include a Luxor cherry.

After all the great reviews of this place, we were really looking forward to eating here but we were sorely disappointed. The waiter was not super friendly but Ill give him a pass bc he looked like he was the only server for the whole restaurant so he was stressed and busy with tables in both rooms. The noise level was very loud in the main dining room and was hard to talk. But the worst part of this entire experience was the food. We ordered a lobster roll to split and the lobster came out literally gray and was so tough and chewy and fishy that it was incredibly hard to eat. I wanted to send it back but my friend asked me not too but it was absolutely inedible. It was if they had microwaved the lobster in some butter. It also had a very minimal amount of lobster in it. Cant speak to other food as that was all we ordered but overall will not be recommending.

I'm usually in Newport a couple of times a year and I try to come here. The atmosphere is usually pretty chill on the bar side, so it's nice to come for drinks and a bite to eat. The last time I was here was yesterday. Some friends and I sat at the bar for a late afternoon nibble and a drink. They went with The Remedy, which was a mocktail on the menu. Both friends liked it. I went with a Sazerac Rye Manhattan. It was well made and came with a luxardo cherry. To eat, my friends shared some oysters, the watermelon salad, a caesar salad, and the garlic parm frites. We were making fun of the frites, because there were also fries on the menu. We said that adding the garlic parm took them from fries to frites - lol. My friends remarked on how tasty everything was, so I'm glad I brought them here. I decided to have a few items off of the charcuterie menu - cheddar, goat cheese, prosciutto, and salami. The goat cheese and salami were the recommendation of the bartender and he was spot on. Everything went well together and was super fresh and delicious. The board came with jam, spicy mustard, crostini, and something pickled. I'll be back in Newport this October for a conference and I'll try to make it back here for some more food and drinks.

Excellent service from Sailor! She's fantastic! Delicious meats and cheeses. We ordered a special Valentine's board which had delicious burrata and prosciutto. The Caesar salad was phenomenal. The shoestring fries with Parmesan and garlic were a tasty treat. The fries were crispy and the seasoning was fabulous. I loved my mocktail, Pink Pearl. It had a fun foam. The Belcourt was a really nice rum cocktail. Very spacious restaurant. Two levels and an outdoor patio too. Lovely, modern decor. Pristine. I love the lighting and ambiance. I would love to dine here again.

Went on a Friday evening for drinks and apps with a friend. Staff was super friendly and we got a table immediately. This place has a bunch of seating, multiple floors, 2 bars and a (new?) outside patio. We ordered purple rain and a mezcal drink and both were really good. Got a few apps - watermelon salad, burrata and panzanella salad. Everything was really good and good portions. We ended with tequila espresso martinis! Great spot to check out if you're in Newport!

We sat in the Conservatory and I loved being surrounded by lush foliage and clean black and white stripe decor. On to the food--- This is not a drill. Do not skip the raw oysters. The mignonette - excellent! They were the best of the weekend (and we have had quite a bit) Our server Tiffany was attentive and made excellent suggestions. We ordered crab toast as well and it was very very good. Then followed with a Caesar salad and clam chowder to share. I couldn't decide between little neck clams and the rabbit tagliatelle and she brought the clams as a surprise. They were HANDS DOWN the best I've ever had. She really made my night. The pasta was also incredible. My selections were favorites of the table. A dinner companion ordered a steak but it was a little over cooked but the manager Rory went above and beyond taking care of us. I'm not sure what they do to make the most perfect French fries but hands down I've never had one like this. Figure out a way to order them. The Can't Elope cocktail was the best I had in Newport. It was balanced, refreshing and all around perfection. We also loved the Paper Tiger! Finished with a sticky toffee pudding that was a star of the meal. I wish I wasn't so full or I would have finished it I cannot recommend this restaurant enough 5 stars.

We chose the Conservatory for our lunch, and that was the right choice! Nice bright, garden room feel, with big windows. Service was fantastic and the food was amazing. We had oysters on the half-shell to start which was delicious, then the lobster roll and egg salad. Both were fantastic! Really enjoyed ourselves. It was inexpensive, of course, but it was well worth the experience.

As I was looking for a place to have a nice dinner with a few coworkers, Wharf Southern Kitchen and…read moreWhiskey Bar ABSOLUTELY caught my eye. First of all, let's talk about the space. Nestled in the Wharf, it was a cute little place with both an up and downstairs. We reserved a spot for around 5:30 (in April) and it was pretty open. There weren't too customers yet, and it was nice and quiet. If you're looking for a ton of space for the seating area, I will say that there isn't too much room/it's pretty nice and cozy! At Wharf Southern Kitchen and Whiskey Bar, they've got a line of booths along the wall, a bar area right in the center and at the actual bar, a high top, another bar at one of the entrances, and a table that seats six. Now let's chat about the service. Our waitress was wonderful, patient, and was extremely helpful when asked questions and also gave SUCH wonderful suggestions. There were MANY fantastic choices on their menu and I was having a pretty difficult time narrowing down which one I really wanted, but with our waitress's help, I was able to choose pretty quickly (and they were AMAZING choices!) Now the food! The wait for the food honestly wasn't that long, and when we got it, we ABSOLUTELY CHOWED... -The Crispy Chicken Bites were AMAZING! I ended up upgrading to the Buffalo Style, and it DID NOT disappoint at all! The Bleu Cheese crumbles were just the perfect amount, and the Buffalo sauce was JUST enough to still enjoy the crispiness of the chicken. I DID ask for ranch on the side, and that just was *chef's kiss*! -I've never had fried pickles before, but I certainly have never seen a restaurant do it with whole pickles. Though it was my first time trying fried pickles, it tasted great! I wouldn't say it's anything special, but it's a great, and lighter on the fried side, appetizer! -I was having a hard time choosing what entree to enjoy, but I'M SOOOO glad that I went with the Smoked Brisket Chopped Cheese! I'm not a big brisket girl, but I will say that this was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! At first when it came out on the bun, I was a little skeptical of how it would taste, but it definitely didn't disappoint! The brisket was cooked SO well with the perfect amount of seasoning, and it all just melted so perfectly together as I was eating it. And the tater tots were SO AMAZING (though on the saltier side) and SO perfectly crispy. I've only got great things to say about Wharf Southern Kitchen & Whiskey Bar & I WILL be back here/will suggest it to my friends visiting Newport one day!
