Located in the Venetian, this spot had really tasty food. I wish we had more time to go back and try more dishes. We came here after attending a pool party at Tao and were pretty hungry. We did not have any reservations and were seated immediately. This place did not disappoint and ended up being one of our favorites. The server was quick to greet us and took the time to go over the menu, which we appreciated, and explained they are farm to table approach. You can really taste the quality in the ingredients. When we first arrived, the restaurant was fairly quiet, which made for a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. As the evening went on and we were finishing up, it started to pick up and feel much more lively, giving it a nice transition from calm to energetic without feeling overwhelming. My favorite was definitely the pizza. The server mentioned the dough is Napoli style, soft and chewy, and it was absolutely delicious. I do not remember all of the items, but we ordered the following: Gruyère, Caramelized Onion, Fromage Blanc, Arugula ($26) Lamb Chops, Curry Risotto, Harissa ($55) Some pasta dish Tiramisu Pistachio Chocolate Tarte Overall, it was a great post-party meal and I would definitely come back to try more of the menu. read more

Gjelina was our spot for dinner and drinks before a concert at the Sphere and it was so memorable! It was actually very busy, as there was the concert and conferences going on. Every table was full. However, service was fast and impeccable! It felt like we were the only ones there. The food was fantastic. The pasta was al dente just the way I like it, everything was seasoned to perfection. We definitely ordered too much food because we couldn't decide LOL - but it was smart to do family style so we could try multiple dishes. Can't wait to go back! read more

Gjelina is a very nice new American style restaurant and bar located on restaurant row in the Venetian Hotel/Casino. The brunch, lunch, and dinner menus they offer have raw seafood, salads, fancy side vegetables, sandwiches, hand made pastas, wood fired pizzas, entrees, and they also offer weekend breakfast plates too. The restaurant is large and attractive with multiple dining areas. The silverware is very well polished here. They do offer many interesting vegetable side dishes. We tried the Oyster Mushrooms with guajillo rub, and cilantro-avocado emulsion. We both thought the mushrooms were delicious. I almost wish I had a taco shell to go with them because they taste like a very good taco filling. My husband enjoyed the Cured Chorizo Pizza. He said that it was very good. I tried the Blackened Sea Bass Sandwich with black garlic aioli, slaw, and house made chips. It was very good but impossible to eat. The sandwich is packed so high that it is impossible to get in your mouth. I removed some fish from the sandwich to make it smaller. I also cut the sandwich in half. Then I had maybe an inch of firm sliced vegetables that were called slaw to bite through. That also was very difficult because the vegetables were sliced very thick and were very firm. I was going to eat the vegetables separate but couldn't because they were too tangy for my palate but good in the sandwich mixed with everything else. Our waiter did check on us and I told him that it was difficult to bite through the vegetables in this sandwich. I suggested that they cut them finer and he thanked me and said it was a good suggestion. The service was very good. The lobster spaghetti was seriously the bomb! It had the perfect amount of spice, and there was definitely a bite of lobster and shrimp in every forkful. The noodles were cooked to the perfect al dente texture, making every bite absolutely delicious. We also had the seafood tower with hamachi, lobster, jumbo shrimp, and Hokkaido oysters, and it was hands down the best seafood tower we've had in Vegas! Everything was so flavorful, and you could tell just how fresh the seafood was. And I can't say enough about the Caesar salad! The lettuce was out of this world, and the chip croutons were on another level. Not to mention, everything is made in-house, so you know it's fresh and made with care. REVIEW #1800!! I wasn't expecting this to be as good as it was. I've been to the Venice location and didn't love it - so sceney and more about the experience than the food. But this was really nice. We came for Easter brunch. The hostess asked if we were celebrating anything and that was a bizarre question given that it was Easter morning... off to a weird start. We were shown to one of those ubiquitous banquette booth situations but they were actually spacing people out, which was nice and unusual. Most of the time in Vegas right now, you ARE going to be sitting practically on top of another two-top regardless of how busy the place is. There was a special Easter menu with a handful of interesting options. We started with the deviled eggs, which we are wont to do. Usually, these SOUND great on paper but aren't good in actuality. These beauties were actually delicious, with just the right amount of mustard and a trout roe topping that was fresh tasting and not at all fishy. We ordered off the regular brunch menu for our mains. I chose the avocado toast, which came with a delicious topping of fresh burrata. Burrata for me is hit or miss... if done right, it's wonderful, but most of the time it's cold and flavorless. This was clearly fresh and absolutely made the entire dish. My partner had the fried chicken sandwich, which was also good. But the starter and my avocado toast were the winners. Our server was lovely. Grabbed a group lunch at Gjelina during our stay at the Venetian in Vegas. It was very pretty inside. We ordered a couple items to share for the table. The market green salad was just alright, it needed some flavor or dressing, just something. The Turkey sandwich was really good. The cacio de pepe pasta was also good. Gjelina in Abbot Kinney has been on my list of places to try forever and was excited to discover they opened a location inside the Venetian. Took the opportunity to head here for a quick lunch during our annual CNY trip. Though we had reservations, we ended up waiting an additional 10 minutes before being seated. Started off with a 2 salads which came out pretty quickly. Both the beet and the arugula salads were tasty and were tossed with the perfect amount of salad dressing. Next out came the orechiette pasta which was just ok in my opinion. Then came both pizzas (chorizo and mushroom) which had the perfect amount of char and blistering but didn't think the dough had much flavor. Thought the chorizo was a tad bit too oily and salty to my liking. The mushroom pizza was the star of the meal. Mashed potatoes were just ok and quite enjoyed the brussel sprouts. Service was spot on and appreciated them expediting our order so that I could head back to the room and finish my afternoon meetings. read more

I was staying at Palazzo and I walked by this on the way to the Venetian Casino. I saw that they had a woodfired pizza oven and homemade pasta, so I stopped by. The restaurant itself is usually pretty packed, but there were some open seats at the bar so I sat there. The staff were attentive in the vibe was cozy. I ended up ordering pickled vegetables and the chorizo pizza. The food was excellent, the staff were attentive, and they had a good wine selection that was fairly priced. If you don't wanna go outside the Venetian complex for Italian, this is a great spot. Next time I'm there, I'm going to try the homemade pasta. read more

Located in the Venetian hotel on the restaurant row near the theater, the restaurant offers farm to table fresh ingredients in mainstream American cuisine. When we arrived, the hostess greeted us warmly and we were seated right away. The menu was simple with salad, pizza, homemade pasta, and meat dishes. We ordered the arugula salad, beet salad, and a mushroom truffle pizza to share among us. Serving size was generous and the salad was fresh and light. The pizza had a mild truffle flavor and it was the perfect size for two people. As for the services and ambiance, our service was quick and our waiters were very attentive with our beverages. The dining area is well laid out for intimate date nights and larger party sizes. Our bill came to $75 before tips, which we felt was an excellent value for the meal. In a hotel with fantastic food, a place with "good" food also stands out... We made a reservation here because we knew that this place was farm to table. We actually had the roasted chicken, which was pretty darn good and the greens underneath that were even better. We also had the Wagyu beef pasta, which was good, but I hate to say it, was just a little bit like Chef Boyardee pasta. It was good, but maybe the extra tender beef made it feel like it was mushy out out of a can? The crustless cheesecake was a good finish as was the coffee, but both were a bit on the pricey side for what we got. We ate at a number of places at the Venetian hotel, and loved all of them. This place was probably our least favorite, but was still very good. I might check out a couple of the other places along the way. By the way, here's a tip, if you check the Venetian rewards email that you get once you check in, you can get a free drink with the purchase of an entrée. Pretty good Prosecco. We got the same thing at the Greek restaurant nearby where they brought a glass for my wife and I, but here they only brought us the one. Again, a good place to eat, but compared to other places very close to it. It was lacking in service and food quality. read more

We ordered a few things off the menu but the ones I wanted to highlight was the japanese potato (yam) with a jalepeno sauce. It was unique and absolutely delicious! I could eat 5 plates of that. I have been to the original Gjelina in Venice once, so was eager to try this new Vegas location and even booked a stay at The Palazzo for convenience. It's located on Restaurant Row; my goodness, how the restaurants on the Row have changed over the years! I think Delmonico's is the oldest remaining eatery here. Note some of these restaurants have their own restrooms, others use the ones in the corridor going to the convention center. Gjelina is a pretty large space, I would say about 5 times larger than the Venice spot. It has 2 private rooms, a bar and a semi-open kitchen. Gjelina has always been about farm-to-table produce-forward dishes; apparently the seasonal ingredients sourced for Venice are also sourced for Vegas. Although Gjelina offers some interesting plates of protein, I ended up going with more veggie-forward dishes. I love corn, and there were 2 corn dishes available. The braised shaved corn was an ode to creamed corn, made creamy with mascarpone cheese plus pecorino and parmesan, with an acidic pinch of lime. The other corn dish was a pasta--ricotta gnocchi with creamed corn sauce and pecorino. Rich and delish. I also got a beet salad with frisee, sourdough panzanella, burrata, toasted seeds and Fuji apple. Also delish. The housemade lemonade was fine. I was also offered a complimentary cocktail because the bartender happened to be training someone and trying new things. My server, who replaced my original server that clocked out, was very enthusiastic and attentive. The name Chaz is on my check, I'm not sure if that's him. He made sure to note that 20% gratuity is already added. There was no "charge for ice" that some prior reviews mentioned. Overall a fine meal, a nice alternative to steakhouse fare or the many Italian menus that dominate this "Italian" resort. read more

This was breakfast number two in Las Vegas. We had passed this restaurant yesterday and noticed a clever menu that we thought would be good. Of course because of the nature of the restaurant, fresh foods, today it was different. But that was okay because the menu was still quite interesting. Carly was our server and she was terrific. She explained a couple of the dishes which helped us to decide. The food came out fairly quickly and was very tasty. We were fortunate that the restaurant was not overly populated, so it was easy to talk to one another. In other words, not too loud. Carly brought a dessert menu even though it was the end of our breakfast, almost noon. I almost never order dessert. Sticky toffee pudding was on the menu, and I'm a sucker for that. Gjelina, is another example of a restaurant that has been around in Los Angeles for a while, that I never visited. Instead, was seamlessly able to do so (without traffic), on a visit to Las Vegas. While the eatery has got a nice location, it was mostly empty when I got there for lunch. What surprised me was that the menu was unimpressive. Since it was already late (and I had dinner plans), I opted for a non starch option, from the breakfast section: Crispy Egg, Prosciutto Di Parma, Romesco, Arugula. The eggs were cooked over easy and the rest of the ingredients married well with the dish. Service was excellent. But would I go here again? I doubt it. read more

This is a newer addition to the Venetian restaurants. They are between Delmonico and Yardbird along restaurant row. The ambiance is romantic with subdued lighting with a task light and candles on each table. Sustainably is key with a farm to table ethos. We came on a quiet Monday night about an hour before closing and we were seated immediately (ten minutes before our reservation). Our server Christian was very helpful and made sure we had water to drink and answered all our questions about the menu. We started with a small Cesar Salad that was larger enough for us to share with large fresh romaine lettuce leaves. For our entrees we had the Lamb Chops, the Pork Chops and the Japanese Sweet Potatoes: All the food was excellent. The lamb and pork was flavorful and the sweet potatoes were amazing. Definitely a five star restaurant that we I'll be returning to on our next Vegas trip. read more

Gjelina. It had been 11 years since I last ate at the Abbot Kinney location in Venice Beach. I remember how I really engjoyed the meal. Alas, a lot of time has passed and while I moved on to try many different and fantastic restaurants, Gjelina was stuck in the past. Some things should stay buried in the past, like a fond memory. Unfortunately, Gjelina decided to open up in my new back yard. The wife and I made a reservation and headed to The Venetian. Speaking of The Venetian, I remember when parking was free. It still is free for locals but only for 3 hours and only if there are no special events. Meh. Strike One: From the get go I was annoyed. I explained to the hostess with the tablet that we had a reservation. She said okay and then we were seated at a communal table. Sorry, but that is some bs and so I explained that no, I wanted a table. They moved us to a table but her body language was anything but friendly. Strike Two: Gjelina adds an automatic 20% gratuity. This includes parties of one or two. This could explain why the service was poor. They already get 20% guaranteed. My server was not cordial, did not explain any specials, and was gjust mediocre. Strike Three: The food was not impressive. You can write all the cookbooks you want. The food gjust doesn't get the gjob done. We ordered the pork chop and all I could think of was the pork chop at Farmstead in St Helena. The orecchiette was a brown mess with a glob of whipped ricotta that looked more like a TV dinner. Should've gjust gone to Esther's Kitchen in the Art's District. Also, they charge for the bread which isn't that great either. Strike out. Gjelina, no wonder you are rated 3.5 stars for your Venice location. Sorry but you only get two for the Venetian location. What an utter disappointment. read more

The Seabass MAY be a bit fishy, have had it twice now. Service is generally fast but one time when seated at the bar on a Friday early evening it took an hour and a half to get my entrees after relatively fast service on the appetizer and salad. I complained directly to the manager who did not apologize and said he would "look into it" - after another half hour finally my entrees were served (Ricotta Gnocchi and Seabass). After that experience I was not going to return ever, but I did - and the next time, at lunch, the service was fine. They will not do take out, but if you sit down, order and package yourself, that functions the same. read more

They had a reasonably priced bottle of Aglianico ($76) that we started to enjoy while waiting for our pizza. THe Cured Chorizo Pizza ($28) was amazingly good! We made a reservation here because we saw that the restaurant served farm-to-table meals. We checked in and were seated promptly near the large windows, which was great for observing and people watching. We ordered the white pizza with sauce on the side, the sea bass, and the root vegetables with mole sauce. I think our most favorite thing was the pizza, which had delicious cheese and also the sauce on the side was great. Our least favorite thing was the vegetables in mole sauce because the mole tasted more like a spicy curry that was too overpowering and should be described that way on the menu since I think of mole as being more subtle. The vegetables also could have been cooked a little longer. My partner enjoyed the sea bass but he thought that the plate was a little on the smaller end with only as small salad as the carbs. I think there was a mixup with our servers since we were told that we would get one server but then Christian ended up taking over but he was great at getting us in and out and helping us with our orders. It was just a little confusing though since we didn't know who to flag down for the check. But the staff is super helpful and checked in on us, grabbing our plates and making sure we were okay. I like that the automatic 20% gratuity is split among all staff because it is true they all contribute. Happy that these sorts of restaurants serving fresh food exist. read more

This is exactly what Vegas needs more of - farm-to-table, intentional dining. If you are a fan of large, heavy, bulky meals then this place is not for you. As an LA native, I am ashamed I haven't been to their Venice location! The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, contemporary but chic. The dining tables near the windows give it an indoor/outdoor vibe with plenty of people watching. Service was great although we went around rush hour so it took some time between orders to catch our server. The menu is designed to be family-style. We ordered the kampachi, a beet burrata salad, Brussels sprouts, and pork chops. I have to preface this by saying I do not eat pork chops but this was so decadent and hearty.
