Mother Wolf is the real deal. Full stop. My wife and I went in with high expectations and somehow still left impressed. The service alone was worth talking about - we actually joked that it was like a movie. By the time my water hit the table someone was already refilling it. That kind of attentiveness is rare and it set the tone for the whole night. We went all in on the menu. Focaccia to start, then the meatballs, the short rib ragu, and the rigatoni alla carbonara. I'd love to tell you which one was the best but honestly it would be splitting hairs. Everything was top tier across the board, no notes on any of it. The only problem was that we couldn't finish it all, and we weren't about to let any of it go to waste. No microwave in the room, didn't matter. We found a way. You'll do the same once you taste it. If you're in Las Vegas and you're not putting Mother Wolf on the list, you're leaving a great meal on the table. We will absolutely be back. read more

I'm not gonna lie--I didn't love it. While there were several things about our experience at Mother Wolf that were great, the overall dinner was simply meh--especially considering the price and portion sizes. Keeping things simple, we kicked things off with the oxtail meatballs and calamari. It was a tasty way to start, offering a nice variety of savory flavors that we hoped would set the tone for the night. I won't blame Mother Wolf for this because nothing on the menu suggests the appetizers are meant to be shared, but for anyone dining with a group, just know they're pretty small. The three meatballs and modest serving of calamari were better suited for two people than our party of four. They also don't serve complimentary bread, so we ordered the Focaccia Siciliana with extra virgin olive oil, origano selvatico, and sea salt. It was good, but not memorable enough that I'd order it again for $14. When it came to the entrées, the Boscaiola pizza was easily the star of the night. The spicy pork sausage, mozzarella, and wild mushrooms came together perfectly and packed plenty of flavor. Our other dishes--the short rib ragù, spaghetti, and gnocchi--were all decent, but none of them really wowed anyone. The biggest disappointment was the portion sizes. Less than an hour after dinner, we were already looking for something else to eat. Then again, it's also pretty hard to walk past an In-N-Out Burger and convince yourself you're not hungry, so maybe that played a small part too. The ambiance was classic and elegant, but the music felt out of place. Rap played throughout the restaurant, and while I enjoy all kinds of music (so don't come at me!), it just didn't fit the upscale Italian atmosphere they seemed to be going for. Service was another mixed bag. It started off strong, but after the appetizers, our waitress seemed to disappear. We had a hard time finding anyone to order another round of drinks, get more bread, or ask for Parmesan once our entrées arrived--delivered by someone else. She eventually reappeared when it was time to pay, but despite asking for separate checks, we were given one. It wasn't a huge deal--we split it ourselves--but it added to the overall experience. All in all, I left a little disappointed. I'm used to "Mother" treating me better and serving up meals that leave me smiling. (3.5/5) Mother Wolf is Chef Evan Funke's restaurant and the supposed embodiment of Roman mythology mixed with Italian cuisine. For starters, the interior was gorgeous with dim lights, warm pottery tones, and comfy lounge seating. Our full party was required to be sat, but the hostess desk was flexible with us being a bit late to our reservation. Overall, I enjoyed the experience, but some things did fall short for me. Let's dive in... Our server was a charming lad who walked us through the menu and recommended some dishes. Since everything was in Italian, it was hard to follow what we were ordering (apart from staple dishes we'd already heard of). For example, the focaccia on their menu is called 'sfincione' (Sicilian) which I was not familiar with. It would have been appreciated if the waiter walked through things with a slower pace and repeated back our order with some English. For appetizers, we had the calamari, focaccia, beef tartare, and the green salad. The focaccia was soft and delicious, but too salty for our liking. Although most of the appetizers felt standard, the salad stood out to us so much that we ended up ordering another one! The dressing is super light, refreshing, with a hint of sweetness and I liked the added zucchini in there for texture. Pasta portions felt a bit small, but otherwise the texture and freshness of the in house made pasta was amazing. The best pasta dish was definitely the carbonara - sauce was absolutely divine (rich with a bit of creaminess, and not too salty). We actually had a mishap and the server sent us the linguine al limone instead of the vongole and they were nice enough to let us keep it free of charge. My second favourite was definitely the linguine alle vongole. There was an excellent portion of clams and they tasted sweet and fresh. I thought it was funny that they garnished the spaghetti with a red hot chilli pepper, but the spaghetti was nowhere near spicy. Everything else didn't feel particularly memorable for me. The server assistant at our table also removed my friend's plate with some of his food still on it. I believe it is best practice to check with the diner if they're finished with their plate before clearing it. I was pleasantly surprised at the branzino. Normally, I'm not a big fan of grilled fish but I thought the green sauce was appetizing and pleasant. I also liked the choice of garnishes (tomato, eggplant, squash) and the side broccolini paired nicely with it as well. Finally, dessert ended on a middle note for us. As a tiramisu lover, I run a rating of all the tiramisus I've had at every Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, this one was a bit too sweet and the bitterness from the espresso didn't come through enough. However, it was still well portioned and the donuts were a unique dessert to try as well (although it was rather sweet as well). The strawberry gelato was also refreshing. Lastly, (not pictured) but many of my party ordered drinks and the general consensus was that they were a hit. Their take on an espresso martini (1790) was especially strong in coffee taste, but delicious. I also sipped the mama rhea which was a fun apple fruity tasting cocktail. A funny note on the side - If anyone gets confused about the washroom there are small signs in English next to them that indicate whether it is the men's or the women's. Mother Wolf Las Vegas is an experience from the moment you walk in. The staff goes above and beyond, and I highly recommend consulting the sommelier for wine pairings they guided us to a few perfect selections that elevated the entire meal. The bread was the talk of the table. Unfortunately, I'm gluten-sensitive, so I had to admire it from afar, but my friends raved about it and continued talking about it for the rest of the trip. It's not complimentary, but according to everyone at the table, it's absolutely worth the price. The standout dish was the lamb quite possibly the best preparation I've ever had. It's one of those dishes you'll find yourself thinking about long after the meal is over. The scallops were also exceptional, perfectly cooked and melt-in-your-mouth tender. They are served on skewers with crostini between each scallop, which my friends loved, though gluten-free diners should be aware. You only get three scallops, but they're memorable. The house-made pasta was solid and showcased the quality and care Mother Wolf is known for. Sadly, we were too full to make it to dessert, but that's just another reason to return. If you're in Las Vegas, Mother Wolf is absolutely worth a visit. Between the incredible food, attentive service, and beautiful atmosphere, it feels like a quick trip to Rome. Service and ambience: Service was quick. Our servers were all attentive, took the time to tell us about the menu, and friendly. I didn't mind the music, but it didn't seem to match the restaurant. They played some 90s rap music, which I typically enjoy as a 90s kid. Food: Let me tell you about the food! Not going to lie. I went hungry and ready to eat. I went with my boyfriend and we decided to get a few different things and share. Cacio e Pepe was cooked well - Al dente, but it was a bit on the salty side for me. Broccolini was perfectly cooked. Good texture with a slight crisp still in the vegetable. The branzino was my favorite. Seasoned well so that you could taste the lightness of the fish and still tender. Yum. The calamari was calamari. Didn't stand out, but it did taste fresh and not rubbery at all. The donuts reminded me churros and was a great way to sweeten the palate at the end of a great meal. It was just enough food for two people where we didn't leave feeling like we wanted to die, but we were definitely satiated. Price: I feel the prices were standard for a Strip restaurant, but be ready to pay a bit on the higher side for Italian cuisine. They don't validate for parking so expect to pay to park on top of the meal price if you're visiting specifically for the restaurant. Checked out Mother Wolf while in Vegas after a round at Wolf Creek. We ordered a good mix of items for the table, and overall everything was solid. We started with the calamari, which was crispy and a great appetizer to share. The Mortazza was probably my favorite dish of the night. The fresh bread with the mortadella, ricotta, pistachios, and lemon was simple but really well done. The Margherita pizza was the standout entrée for me. Great crust, nice char, fresh mozzarella, and just the right amount of sauce. They had a chili oil that paired really well with the pizza. For pasta, we had the Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe and Fettuccine alla Papalina. Both were good and cooked al dente. The cacio e pepe was my favorite of the two. We also shared the Branzino (Italian sea bass)which was cooked well and had great flavor without being overcomplicated. Service was attentive, drinks were good, and the atmosphere felt lively without being too loud. The bill wasn't cheap, but that's expected here. This is a fairly fancy restaurant in Fontainebleau located along the Strip. It was convenient for us to go as we were in the area, but they were fully booked for the entire Thursday night (probably the EDC rush), so we were advised the only way to get seated is at the bar first come first served, which luckily only waited 2 minutes before a party left. We got the fiori di zucca (squash blossoms with ricotta) and gamberi in salsa verde (blue prawns). These are 2 appetizers that were fairly hearty, so we were adequately satisfied after that. But it is a bit pricy - after tax and tip, it was over $80 just for 2 appetizers. The quality of the food is pretty good. I really loved the squash blossoms - deep fried and crunchy in some aspects, and filled with lots of ricotta at the base, so definitely be careful in eating it! Despite not as much flavor, it was not one dimensional at all. The blue prawns were really good. A bit unexpected that the head has flavorful juice that is not bitter at all - so do not skip out on the shrimp head. The prawn itself is really fresh and the sauce is fairly flavorful. This was my 6th time dining at Mother Wolf Las Vegas. This restaurant has the potential to deliver the best dining experience you've ever had. Ambiance is modern meets old world Italian with high ceilings and good jams playing. For sure the best bar at the Fontaine, special shout for the consistently delicious espresso Martinis. (I've dined at 6 of their 8 signature restaurants) The food - I've made my way through about 60% of their menu, almost never disappointed. The arbiatta, lemon pasta, pork entree, and the panzanella salad are all my favorites. With an amazing bar, great ambiance, and world class food you'd think you couldn't go wrong with this place, but you can. I've had a bad experience myself. The man who ties it all together... Dutch! 4 out of 6 visits the man has taken care of us like we are family. Problems? Just noticed that it's been a full two years since I first reviewed Mother Wolf! After several more visits, it is safe to say that this is one of my very favorite restaurants in Vegas. I branched out on the menu and have found so many more favorites! The Linguine al Limone is a must have, and the gnocci (pomodoro or truffle) is so good - it's made with ricotta! Their pizzas are wonderful! But more than the food, it's the service here and the people that makes it a mandatory destination on every trip for me - and often multiple times in one trip. We had such a great experience here on our first visit. The interior was beautiful. It was very busy and crowded but felt oddly intimate. Perfect celebratory dinner or date night. We stayed at Fontainebleau and I must say it is quite spectacular. The restaurant scene there is trendy and Mother Wolf is a special treat. We were especially impressed with the level of service we received from our server Jonathon. The food was absolutely delicious as well. I love a meal where the bread is the focal point. The focaccia is probably the best thing on the menu. The pizza was a blend of Neapolitan style with an American/NY influence. Dining at Mother Wolf inside the FontaineBleu felt like stepping straight into my Italian grandmother's kitchen with a glamorous and elegant twist. Are here when family came into town to see Duran Duran. We ordered the squash blossoms which were amazing and my favorite! The boscaiola pizza and gnocchi, the ruchetta salad and the tagliata di manzo and linguine Al lemone, which was also amazing. Staff and service were great. They were able to rush some of the food out based on the time of our reservation and the concert beginning. The decor was nice and we sat at a booth table which was very nice. Would recommend the restaurant, but hate that you have to reserve a reservation with a credit card and are charged $50 per person if you cancel less than 24 hrs in advance, especially when there are so many restaurants in Vegas to chose from and when you are a local when you really want to attract locals to the strip. read more

Not just good- unreal! The service was thoughtful, helpful, and personal. Our waiter was actually from Italy, accent and all, and he was wonderful. We had the arugula salad first. I was perfect! We couldn't stop talking about it. We also had the focaccia. Now, I was thinking it was just break but it wasn't. It was little pillows of heaven. And we had the carbonara. We ended the meal with the doughnuts, which we agreed were some of best we've ever had. It was all great. I only wish we had more room to try more items. I also had the lavender cocktail. It was not too sweet and overall very refreshing. The restaurant is located within the Fontainebleau hotel where we were staying. Mother Wolf is probably going to get 4 stars from this review because we ate at Carbone Riviera the night before and it is difficult to match that place. Anyway, my wife and I went on a date night during our couples trip to Vegas and picked Mother Wolf. I am a particular fan of Felix Trattoria in Venice, so going to another Even Funke restaurant made perfect sense. Our table had a great view of the open kitchen and the restaurant exuded fine dining Italian. Service was top notch, and most of the food was also. If there was one thing that kind of surprised me was when I told the Somm that I'd like to keep our bottle of red wine below $300, he suggested we better stick to the by the glass list. He wasn't kidding. We've been to a bunch of fine dining and expensive establishments, and this wine list had nothing for the more budget conscious wind drinkers. So we ended up doing a Brunello in the $350 range. It was fine, but a better option would have been to order from the by the glass list and try several options. Anyway, back to the important part - the food. We started with the focaccia bread, squash blossoms and short rib meatballs. One thing Mother Wolf does not do is skimp on portion size. Each of these appetizers would have worked for a party of 4. The meatballs were especially good I thought. Next came a couple of pastas - The Rigatoni Carbonara and the Pappardelle Ragu. The Pappardelle was the star of the show with the Carbonara being a little bland compared to other versions we have had. We then had as a shared entree the Chicken and Mushrooms. If any of the dishes were a miss this night, it was this dish. The chicken was cooked well, but everything tasted under seasoned. It would not be a dish we would order again. Mother Wolf has beautiful decor and has top notch service from start to finish. It's a great place for casual to formal dining. When it's very busy, it can be quite loud a there's a lot of conversations going on around you, but take it that it's indeed a popular place. It's quite dark inside so you're likely going to need some lighting to read the menu. Using very traditional names for their dishes, it can be a little confusing if you're just reading the titles - you might not be familiar with many of the names as I was. You'll need to read the descriptions to get a better grasp on the type of dish. The server is also great at describing the dishes. For the appetizers, the table shared the short rib meatballs, bruschetta, and a margherita pizza. The meatballs were pretty good, but I have had more flavorful and tender ones at other places so it was good, but not the best I've had. The bruschetta comes out looking very cool - a big piece of bread topped with burrata, tomatoes and basil. However, as a shared appetizer, you're going to have to demolish the bruschetta a little in order to get it into pieces for everyone. I would have rather had the bruschetta nicely precut to make it easier for sharing. The pizza was excellent! The crust was thin and crispy and the flavor of the ingredients tasted fresh and it was scrumptious. For the entrees, there were many pasta dishes tried. One of the best was the Linguini Limone. It was saucy and had a great standout lemony taste. It was one of the best at the table. The pasta is made fresh and the rigatoni dishes all had their own types of sauces. I will say that there was some inconsistencies in the rigatonis because some were thicker than other pieces so the pasta bite wasn't always consistent. Fresh made pasta always has a really nice overall texture and for the most part, the dishes did have that. Another pasta that was really good was the short rib rigatoncini (smaller/thinner rigatoni). It had a nice and rich sauce that had nice meat pieces and it was a very comforting type of dish. All of the pasta entrees are definitely filling. If you have a table that doesn't mind a good sampling - then get a few differently sauced dishes to share. Lastly - onto desserts. The lemon sorbet was very very tart. While I do like a good tartness in some things, this sorbet was much too tart. It wasn't an enjoyable dessert. The mini donuts were the better of the three desserts. It was more of a classic type of dessert - little donuts with a dipping sauce. I have head great things about this restaurant and I really wanted to love it - but in the end it was good, not great, but good. Great Roman restaurant! Romantic vibe and dim lighting with an open kitchen, perfect place for a date night. We've been to a lot of fancy Italian restaurants and most have been decent so we were skeptical. However, as soon as we ate, our doubts were gone. It's located in Fountainebleau and the interior is beautiful. Service was excellent all throughout the night and they were helpful and catering to our needs. Here is what we ordered: Sfincione: this is house made focaccia bread and was my favorite appetizer. Definitely the best focaccia bread I've ever had and I had the experience of watching it made live. The inside was super soft/buttery and I could not stop eating it. No dips or sauces are needed. Fiori Di Zucca: deep fried squash blossoms filled with cream cheese - we've never had anything like it so we were shocked at how much flavor it packed! My wife's favorite. Quattro Formaggi: this was my favorite - all the cheeses blended perfectly well! It was a bit oily but nonetheless delicious. My wife is not a crust lover but this crust she could eat easily without any issue. Spaghetti All'Arabbbiata: the sauce is a beauty and the spaghetti is al dente and well cooked. Small portion but still worth it. Tonnaarelli Cacio E Pepe: least favorite dish but still delicious. Torta Caprese: my wife's favorite dessert - the cake was cooked to perfection and the cherries topped it off. Budino Di Daterri: sticky toffee pudding is one of my favorite desserts of all time and this absolutely hit the spot! Perfectly sweet and the texture of the pudding was on point. What made it better was the pecan crumble on the side paired with the vanilla ice cream. Overall, this was an excellent meal for our date night and we would recommend this to all Italian food lovers. read more

The crust has that perfect thin, crispy Roman snap that is so hard to find. Celebrated our daughter's 18th birthday here. Top notch. Service: excellent. We were seated promptly upon arrival, on time with our reservation. Justin was it waiter: he was knowledgeable, engaging, and helpful. I noticed several managers on the floor monitoring and directing flow. Food and service were prompt The food: all dishes had excellent presentation and very tasty. The fresh arugula salad was amazing: fresh and well balanced with citrus and cheese. The four cheese pizza was amazing: creamy, perfectly gooey, slightly salty and sweet. A very surprising good and savory dish ( and I'm not a cheese guy). The contrast between the gooey cheese and the thin, crusty dough adds to the experience. The pastas: we shared a couple of dishes. The sauces were creamy with good consistency. I want to highlight the pasta though: cooked just right with the perfect slightly chewy texture. Im betting it's home-made. So good. The halibut: good sized filet with firm slightly crispy exterior and breaks into soft flakes. The mild touch of sweetness is balanced with the lightly citrus, creamy sauce. The deserts: All were great. That said the star is the tiramisu. Amaazzing. Smooth, creamy, chocolaty and perfect texture. Dessert nirvana!! Nitpick: this is for sure a nitpick. I was already prepared to be blown away, and I can now confidently say, I was definitely blown away. What an amazing meal we had in Vegas! We came as a private party and the food never stopped coming. Dish after dish, the variety had all of us wow'ed. Everyone there was also very thoughtful and kind.
