I think I'm going to skip coming here for a while. Today was an okay visit. My food was warmish ( flat iron steak ) steak was great but mashed potato and toppings were cold. I think my food sat too long because everything else's was warm. My daughter ordered the Hunter's skillet and she said it was a little salty. We also had ice cream sandwiches but we think the cookies were a day old. So my daughters just ate the ice cream and skipped the cookie. The thing that really turned me off during this was that our server was dusting the blinds and the dust was blowing on us ( yes, even if you are using a swiffer duster it still has dust flying and I think that was rude and shouldnt be done when you have customers around ). read more

We were told that our wait for a two top would be 1.5, but it was 2 hours. The hostess didn't tell us that there was a designated waiting area with chairs and tables, so instead we stood around in everyone's way until 1.5 into our wait. When we were seated our table still had some crumbs on it and the booth seat had some bigger crumbs. I cleaned it up myself cause I didn't want to wait any longer. The seafood chowder I order was very good! There were some crunchy pieces in it which I am assuming were possibly shells? The calamari was AMAZING! We would go back for just that! A group of waiters were complaining about how long their shifts were next to our table and being pretty loud about it. One said that they had been there since 10am and another said that they had been on a 14 hour shift. Not sure if they were short handed or if it is normal to work those types of hours, but it didn't add to the ambiance of our dinner. None of us could understand this rating. The only thing we can think of is that we should've gotten seafood. The double fried chicken sandwich sounded delicious but had a weird sweet taste to it. The fries that came with it was ok.. We also tried the double mushroom pizza which was slightly better than cafeteria pizza. They drizzle tomato sauce on top which was weird and it was oddly greasy. No great flavor to speak of. The calamari was cooked well but we all would've preferred cocktail sauce for some acidity. The only offered was fried jalapeno slices which is too spicy for some people. The salmon dip was good, the only item we had that we'd recommend! Service was good. The wait was long but not as long as they say so hang close! read more

Wonderful food and atmosphere. Seafood is tasty and fair priced. Ample parking. Wait staff friendly at first until we didn't order alcohol.

The place was hopping on a Friday evening when I went with a business associate. We didn't have reservations when we went about 7:30 and was told the wait would be over an hour (so make reservations for a larger party), but we found two spots at some of the long tables in the bar area. Is kind of fun that you definitely get to know your neighbors (the seats are close together) so if you want a private meal those tables aren't for you. Had a very friendly server and she kept on top of our drinks and food order. I ordered the Halibut and it seemed very fresh and done perfectly. I would definitely come back. read more

With the restaurant being one of the best in town, I was severely disappointed. We waited 27 minutes for starter bowls of their beer cheese soup. As soon as our plates came out, we asked for the check since we didn't want to wait another 30 minutes after asking for it. Wife's food was cold upon arrival. However, bother her flank steak and my double dipped fried chicken sandwich were tasty. However, the place was so busy, the servers were completely checked out of providing a memorable experience. I, unfortunately, won't be recommending the Brewhouse this summer to the thousands of tourists I will encounter. read more

Server was super nice, and lunch was delicious. I had the lunch combo of Baja fish tacos and the tomato bisque, and I crushed them both. My husband has the Chop Chop salad, and he said that was great as well. The blood orange IPA was a big hit too. read more

Worst experience on my first night in Anchorage. DO yourself a favor and skip it. Over 45 min for just a bowl of soup and plain fettuccine. Fettuccine was undercooked seamed like it was reheated and soup Luke warm. To add insult, they only comped a portion of our meal and the manager had nothing but excuses for the delay. I would have more respect had she owned it. Sadly our server was stuck in the middle. He Seemed like a good guy although we had to ask about specials etc... and the table next to us he was Chatty Cathy. I usually chalk up these experiences to busy night but the manager making excuses and only comping part of our meal was very insulting. Very disappointing. A trip to Anchorage is not complete with stopping in Glacier BrewHouse for a meal and some of there amazing beer! I used to live here, so I've been here a ton of times and have NEVER had less than an amazing meal with impeccable service. This trip I couldn't make it for dinner, but took a couple of my friends for lunch and (once again) it was awesome! I had their lunch combination-half a sandwich and half a salad. My choice (backed up by our server) was Smoked Salmon Club & BLT Chip salad. Absolutely amazing! The Smokes Salmon was heavenly and served on their freshly baked baguette and the salad was so fresh with lots of bacon and tomatoes. I was stuffed...hello clean plate club! My friends both ordered a cup of their Hearty Alaskan Seafood Chowder and the Alaskan Salmon BLT Salad. They really liked the chowder and didn't stop talking about it for days afterwards. Their salads were HUGE with BIG hunks of Smoked Salmon on top. Again...perfect! As I started...no trip to Anchorage is complete with a stop at Glacier BrewHouse!! Great food and beer! Awesome ambience, what'd you expect from a brewery in Alaska. Ordered the Herb Crusted Alaskan Halibut because.. fresh Alaskan Halibut won't be fresh anywhere else! So delicious. Even the mashed potatoes with mascarpone cheese were great. I paired it with their own brewed Bavarian hefeweizen and it went down so smooth. Great tasting beer. Only downside: it's pricey for a brewery. One meal with one beer cost me roughly $48CAD. read more

We lived the entire set up what a treat that you wouldn't imagine. Everyone was super friendly and everything we had was very good !! Waits for this downtown restaurant run a non-sensical 1-1.5 hours, frequently. Get a reservation to avoid, but better yet skip the wait and go elsewhere. The food is decidedly mediocre, with nothing whatsoever to distinguish it from any American food restaurant a notch or so above Appleby's. As an example, the fish and chips are breaded so that the breading balloons, meaning that the fish is not particularly well-cooked, tender, or enjoyable, even if the breading is crispy. We've tried many other dishes here when we've eaten with out of town friends who insist on coming, but this last week was the last time. At mid-day, they were already out of several menu mainstays, and with unremarkable service, the visit was more tedious than problematic. read more

It held its own compared to the larger juggernauts of the American South. The place has a cozy warm vibe and smells of a fireplace. There are open kitchens where you can see the foods being grilled and a nice bar area. They had a large choice of beer and a selection of cocktails.
