I stopped by here as the humidity here in Key West is off the chain. Outside temperature is saying 81 deg but with the heat Index, it feels closer to 90 degrees. This place is a key lime pie, ice cream, and smoothie place. I ordered the $7.00 large mango/strawberry smoothie. It tasted amazing. Just what I need to refresh after the long Duval St walk. The front guy was super friendly and helpful. My date even got a coconut with a straw through It to drink.($5.00) Next time that I am in town, I will definitely stop by a for a nice cold smoothie. Just a small little hole in the wall store front with a few chairs off to the side of the building to sit down. However the ice cream was delicious. I wouldn't waste time with the shave ice here as that didn't look good, but the ice cream was great. They had so many different flavors and all seemed unique and homemade. The pineapple ice cream (I think it was a sorbet) was delicious. You could taste the real fruit in it. They also had other great tropical flavors like papaya. This was the best ice cream I had during my trip from Miami to the keys and trying various highly rated places. I almost had to give it four stars though because the prices are ridiculous. It was like $10 just for a large which was few small scoops of ice cream. It is very overpriced, and if it were any more expensive, I probably wouldn't return. Not my favorite. The almond ice cream was grainy with ground almond sand. It also had chunks of almond paste which was a nice touch but was overly sweat for me. It needed a creamery texture in my opinion. Not the best in Kew West at $4 for a small cup. read more

Okay so let me start by saying that the ice cream was pretty good. My boyfriend got mango ice cream and he really liked it. I got the pineapple drink. A pineapple "smoothie" in a pineapple. The ice cream that was served on top was also really good. But the drink it's self was awful. It may have been salvageable if it had been served cold, but it was served room temp. ( it was 90 something today) I love pineapple, but not warm. The pineapple either needs to be kept in the cooler, or it needs to be blended with ice. It was also very pulpy, so it had an odd texture. My boyfriend got coconut, key lime & mango for the ice cream. Key lime was our favorite 10/10!!! Mango was our second favorite 9/10. Keep in mind that they are all made in house and all taste homemade. The coconut flavor tasted very much like natural coconut, with little to no additional sugars in my opinion. No artificial flavors. I love coconut, tasted amazing to me but if you don't really like natural coconut, than you probably wouldn't like it. I also got the coconut water and it was amazing as well. I gave this only 4 stars for a few different reasons. It says ice cream, so I was expecting really butterfat ice cream. Sorbet or gelato is much closer to what it really is. I will say the key lime sorbet was delicious. However, the tiny cup I had was very small and today I got ice cream that was twice as big for the same price or less. My husband also got peanut butter and it was very grainy and was a turn off. We both agreed the key lime was delicious but we had to adjust our taste buds to sorbet expectations.
